Popped in here today at lunch. Nice food and very good service. Barman took my drinks to the table, I use a crutch to aid mobility. He also came over to open the accessible toilet for me as he saw me going back to our table for my radar key. This service costs nothing but makes a difference to the person you are helping.

WORST NIGHT OF MY LIFE My boyfriend of five years, my future husband, the love of my life, dumped me. It was truly tragic. Tears fell into my reasonably priced pint of Coors Light, as I mourned the life that was never meant to be. Dan approached me, and said "that sucks, bro" as he proceeded to hand me a plate of wings and a large glass of vodka. I don't remember anything else about that night, apart from the 5 star customer service. Thanks Gosta!

Dan has provided me a safe place to answer trivia questions after we returned from v’naam together. We saw some horrible stuff, but Dans friendly face was always there through it all. He carried me through when I was injured - he would always say “it’s Gosta Greener on the other side son”. These words have stuck with me. His staff today reflect the gritty American values we fought for. After a high speed shootout against Russian agents, his staff removed shrapnel from my chest along with a cold Carling and a Burger, all for £7.95. Thats the More service grown on battlefields.

Really friendly service, great staff and a reasonable selection of alcohol free beer. The cocktails on a Saturday night are amazing as is the live music. Sport is limited, and mainly watched by fans that have limited knowledge of football, but not surprising for a Birmingham based pub. Stopped of on the way through and probably will do again, specially when Birminham City are playing - as that really makes for a good laugh. Thoroughly recommend this pub - it is fantastic.

Lovely lunch : fish, chips & peas with a side portion of sweet potato fries & a bottle of Old Mout Cider Strawberry & Pomegranate. A little expensive (hence only 4 stars) but very nice, well cooked, great atmosphere, friendly staff & no pressure to leave (unlike some pubs) still sat here after 3 1/2 hours.

Nice pub with a brilliant beer garden. Excellent layout inside and outside with numerous TVs which is great for the sport. Always a brilliant atmosphere and nothing is ever too much for the amazing staff working in these difficult times. Cara is always friendly, welcoming and goes above and beyond to ensure your visit is amazing as can be. Food is amazing and presented well. Awesome sporting venue and highly recommend. An amazing place! The atmosphere is always spot on. Gosta is my go to place and never fails to let me down, all ages are welcome unless specified for a student night I believe. The interior is pretty cool, sheekeysleek you could say. If you're looking for a place to go that's moderately nice priced, doesn't have trouble and acomadates any group size, then it's the place to go. I'm always amazed that it doesn't get as busy as you'd imagine; when it does, there is more than enough room to find you're own little spot, especially in the beer garden. Not only is it a great place for groups, it's an amazing place to take a partner; it's the kind of atmosphere that keeps conversation flowing. In my personal experience, you can speak to anyone there and of course, you don't have to. Wait... Their MORE card! Not only do they do deals such as double points Monday, wings Wednesday, delicious three pound cider on Fridays and there is more I've missed. Their MORE card allows you to collect points, hence the double points Monday. There is an app available that allows you to view your balance and all you have to do is scan your QR code using a card they provide or the app on your phone and your gaining points on your purchases. These points convert into digital cash which can be spent as cash for your purchases. Be cheeky and get your friends to use your card and you'll have loads in no time. I've had free nights out using my points which... Well, it's a free night out!

Great venue around too many people felt uncomfortable afor a bit but I eventually got use to being outside and the food was just amazing perfect flavours was happy the the fries wasn't a big size nice and small. Great beer, nice to be open again. Shame we couldn't have any flexibility on borrowing a table for 5 minutes (the place was empty) in order to accommodate 7 drinkers to say goodbye to a team mate. Went on ‘freedom day’ July 19 with colleagues from work at 4 o’clock. It was great to be served at the bar after so long and the staff welcomed us with open arms and smiles. Ann Marie served us and and really made an effort to welcome us. Sat outside in the brilliant garden and had a great 4 hours! Top venue.

The food was pretty good but I was charged incorrectly at the til. I was supposed to get 50% off my bill but the guy at the till charged me incorrectly, I ended up paying more and only realised after I'd left. It was a few pounds so I didn't bother going back but I think staff could do with a bit more training.

I've spent (far too much) time in this place and it's a great place with a pretty lively atmosphere. The beer selection is always pretty good and the staff are helpful and pretty fast to serve. The grub isn't fantastic, standard pub fair, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Although this is a student pub it was close to our offices and an ideal venue to meet at lunchtime. It's quite rustic with wooden floors and tables and very spacious. The food wasn't especially cheap - I was expecting student prices. There was alot of choice on the menu including lots of veggy options. I had a vegan grilled cheese sandwich with fries. It was ok , nothing special - but tasty. My friends' food options looked better. I would definitely visit again as I liked the venue and perhaps next time I'll choose something more to my liking.

Only been once. Was nice, not the best pub in the world but know where near the worst. Loads of out door room. Very spacious inside and a fair amount of choice if your feeling a change. It is what it Is and doesn't try to be anything else. Decent. No free parking for the designated driver.

Absolutely amazing decor now it has been refurbished. Quirky and colourful, and lots to do. Table tennis, shuffleboard, board games... and a cider board which I appreciate as someone who doesn't drink beer! The staff have always been a friendly bunch and it's a much prettier place to go for a drink or lunch these days!

The inside of this pub is really nice, but the vegan food was underwhelming; the burger was dripping grease and was very burned, tasted like it had been cooked in a fryer which hasn't had the oil changed in months. The inside of the burger indicated that it had the potential to be a great burger, but it was just mushy, greasy and the outside tasted like charcoal. On top of that, the 'skinny chips' are the skinniest available yet they give you the same number of them that other places would give you in much thicker cut chips. They are served in a small tin mug and barely fill it. You can eat them in a few mouthfuls, it's basically 1 small potatoes' worth of chips. They were nice, but gone too quickly. For the same price, unless things change, you're better off going somewhere which doesn't skimp on the portions and cleans their fryer regularly, or doesn't use the fryer at all for a burger. All that was on my metal tray they use instead of a plate was the burger and the cup of skinny chips, most of the tray was vacant. The place is otherwise nice though in terms of atmosphere and staff, so I would go back if I knew the food was better.

We visited Liverpool v PSG Champions League night in Freshers Week. The place was banging. Couldn't eat because there were no spare tables but the beer and atmosphere were really good. Big student hang out and really good for live TV sports

One of my favourite places to go whenever I want to watch sports. The place has plenty of screens and monitors and they have a few "huts" out in the beer garden with monitors as well. I have only been there during winter months, but I assume their beer garden is one of the best places to be during a summer day in Birmingham.

They also have large screens showing a variety of sports (a lot of american) which makes a change from most places just showing soccer.

The real Aston SU. Food is great, lots of beers on supply and they have a rotation of interesting ales and beers from various guests. Friendly staff and they have this DJ app you can use to choose the music, which is great if you're going there with a few friends on a Tuesday. Monday nights they turn it into a club-style space, with the tables moved, loud music and an entry fee, and has only ever disappointed. If you want a place to go during the week with a few friends this is a good spot. Check out the hot sauce, which is great with the wings, and the big rack of ribs is A+.

Since a recent refurb, the place has definitely improved. As it is on Aston campus, expect a lot of students. The prices are slightly more than you would expect at a "regular" pub. Gosta does show sports and has 2 pool tables. Be aware that after 10pm on a Monday it turns into a night club.

I am staying at the Premier Inn nearby so wandered up to watch Norwich v Birmingham on the big screen. The lager shandy I ordered was good. I couldn't find anything I fancied on the menu but tried to order the all day breakfast only to be told no breakfasts are sold after 5.30. Maybe they need to make this clear? The music was too loud for me to enjoy the football, so I left. At 65 perhaps I need to move with times.
