Reviews of The Lamp Tavern
I. P.
A proper pub, the likes of which you don’t see much anymore. I doubt much has changed in there in 40 years (or more), it’s just a friendly landlord that keeps a good stock of real ales, and a regular clientele. Excellent place.

Excellent singing and good service in bar x Martin

Don't let the gritty inner city location put you off coming here.
NCP round the corner and if you come in the evening, free parking on the street outside.
Proper pub.

Superb, traditional pub, the likes of which we should cherish. Akin to being in someone's living room in a way. I visited early on a Sunday afternoon, and felt very welcome as a first time visitor. Real ale was kept well, and the locals chatted away and read their newspapers. Lots of Irish paraphernalia as befits the history of the area.

Propper old pub. Loved our visit. Small, full of locals but so welcoming. Propper bitters/ales well kept. We stayed for a couple of pints and loved it. The landlord and his family are lovely. Remindes me of my childhood at a local with my parents. The free ham butties for all I to enjoy along with mustard, onions, cheese, pork pie and black pudding being passed around showed traditional pub roots and much Irish charm. Beautiful little pub.
