We visited for the carvery on a Sunday approx 12.15pm. Food was tasty and plentiful. Would benefit from warming plates though as food went cold a little too quickly. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Visited yesterday and was blown away how nice everything was, carvery was fantastic on par with my grandma's Sunday roast and she's the best. Great pub fantastic friendly staff. We will most definatly be back.

A very cosy pub restaurant that serves great food. The hosts greeted me with a smile and a pleasant hello before I ordered the food. I am vegan and asked which vegetables were dairy free and he gladly answered my question and even cooked some fresh carrots for me because he said they were slightly buttered. All in all, a warm and friendly place, great staff and great chef. Thank you Royal Oak

It's OK for a stop off for a quick bite to eat as there is nowhere else to go near here. Food ok but the staff looked like they didn't want to be there. I can't say any more about the way the female member of staff pulled up her tights behind the bar but it was a site I never thought I would see in a pub. Will I go back again🤔 probably yes as the food was reasonably priced but I never want to see that double gusset ever again.

Much improved decor and ambiance compared to last time I was here in 2017. Excellent carvery with other options on the menu if your not a carvery person. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Only 4 stars because there were no hand pumped beers. I prefer real ale to the bland, tasteless industrial fare.

What a treat! We went for a carvery today and booked ourselves in on their app for 4.30pm, asking for a specific seating position. We were given a lovely welcome when we arrived and taken to our table that had been reserved. The lovely lady behind the bar took our drinks order and sold us tickets for the carvery. My first choice of red wine wasn't available so I was offered other red wines. We went for our carvery and were given very generous portions. I asked for Cauli without the cheese sauce and it was provided within seconds. All the gravy is also vegetarian and gluten free and tasted delicious. We sat down to eat and I tasted my wine but wasn't keen. I had another try later in the meal and didn't like it so I went back to the bar with it. The lady behind the bar let me taste another wine that I liked and poured me a fresh glass. The place had a lovely ambiance with plenty of parking and the staff were wonderful. The meal was delicious. I have no hesitation in recommending The Royal Oak.

Fantastic Carvery! The food was amazing and fresh. Also every member of staff make you feel welcome. Very warm inviting restaurant . Happy faces made a big difference to the experience. We will definitely be back. 8 very happy adults & children. Thanks to the chef who made us all laugh remembering all the different orders from the top of his head. 🙌

We go here most Sunday's, the place is immaculate, the staff are great and the food is some of the best pub grub I've eaten. It's reasonably priced as well, good selection of beer and spirits. If you try this pub you WONT be disappointed. A great way to spend a few hours......

Food is good as always but service can be a little slow on the carvery line at the moment as you have to be served on vegetables aswell as the meats (which is normal for the meats). We ordered our coffees at the same time as getting our tickets by the time we had cued and got our food the drinks were cold. Hopefully soon things will get back to normal. Always a busy place and highly recommend.

Called in on sunday for some much needed family time and we had a wonderful time. As a ex land lady myself you can tell this pub is run by a female manager, its run like a well oiled engine..Perfectly. Food is wonderful staff very attentive to your every need and they all work well together and very hard. Keep up the good work your all a credit to the company.

I went thursday for the first time since the refurbishment and it looks so much better. The decor is more modern and lighter which gives the place life. Talked to guy on the bar (Dale I believe) about the changes and he was very positive about them. We had the carvery and it was spot on. Meat portions were good and a good selection of vegetables. Donna the manager came and made sure everything was okay and took our plates away. Atmosphere was good and the staff were all smiling and enjoying their job which made us feel relaxed and welcomed. We will be coming back again.

Beautiful pub great staff. Came for lunch today chose the super salad with chicken. What can i say it was very tasty and beautifuly presented. The manageress was very friendly and polite and as where all the other staff. I will be highly recommending this restuarant to all my friends and family and will be back next week for sure. Can be a bit hit and miss. Been when the food has been awful and when it has been good. If having the carvery, some meat has not been available and the potatoes and veg have been dry, due to being left for a while. Also, tables and cutlery have been dirty. Having said that, the chocolate fudge cake is delicious and the portion is massive! Staff are very friendly and it is good value for money. Will still continue to come, as we have for many years.

The Royal Oak is an ideal venue for a midweek meal with family or friends. Always reliable, not expensive, you will get honest British fare. For the price, quality is very good. No complaints. Have not tried weekends; I imagine it could be popular then too.

This is my second visit tonight since the refurb and it was as good as the first The food is excellent fresh hot and seasoned perfect. The management team and staff have really turned this restaurant around and made it a go to place to eat so well done. Cheap carvery, could do with redecoration it's looking A bit shabby. On my last visit they had run out of three of the four meat selection, the other dishes available where dried up and didn't look to appetising. Could do better.

We went for our annual Christmas Eve family get-together unfortunately this year's food was very disappointing, mostly inedible. The staff were very understanding and we did receive free deserts. Sorry but improvements need to be made.

Visited Wednesday evening and what can i say what a lovely restaurant, staff & management are lovely and the food is great, I've had many carvery's and this was far the best. See you again in a few weeks when we are back in the area.

The carvery itself was good but why have they stopped doing a small potion at this pub. It's the only one I know that stopped doing small and as a result elderly people were walking out because of it.
