Our group called in after a walk it was really busy, the football was on, nice buzz, good Madri. I loved the actual building all the stonework and big fireplace. A member of staff smiled at me whilst collecting glasses, nice. I would like to return and try the food.

Only popped in for a quick drink before moving on to another venue for an evening meal, but we got chatting to the landlords who convinced us to stay for a meal. Both landlords had only recently taken over the license and the bar was very inviting. The meal itself was very well presented and very tasty, they even let us put a bottle of bubbly in their cellar to cool, we had just come from a wedding. Really wished I'd had the ribeye steak instead of the pork belly, nice to see a steak done so well, not that the pork belly wasn't delicious. The whole experiance, the bar the staff was brilliant. The resturant was well set out with good sized tables for families and intimate ones for those romantic moments. The menus was small but varied and they were all hand made, didn't try one but they hand made proper pies. Above all the feel of the place was just right, I would cheerfully go back but its a bit of a trip from Grimsby!!

This is an excellent pub, the food here was thoroughly enjoyable by both my wife and myself. The service was very efficient and there is a very relaxed atmosphere. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone looking for good quality food at good prices.

Great local, friendly and good atmospheric pub. Real log fire and great staff. I've only eaten Sunday lunch here but that was amazing. Great place to go. I would highly reccomend.

Quick visit after a hard day's decorating, chicken and chorizo kebab was ordered off the specials board. A pleasant change from the normal pub grub menu, nicely cooked juicy chicken and great chips. Second meal was a large gammon, again well presented and tasty. The sharing ice cream was a large portion easily enough for two adults.
