Nice choice of drinks. Menu looked good but we had dinner planned elsewhere. Something different and a great vibe to relax in with a beer. Great pizzas too!

Good atmosphere here, would definitely recommend, place is quite small but nice with vinyl everywhere and I like the rooms and layout of the place. One of my fav bars to go to on the evenings, always seems to be chill nice people there, would say most people here are 20-40yr and staff are very friendly. (Rooms in daytime could be a bit lighter)

I remember coming here since 2019 and it has picked up in popularity. You'll be lucky to get in on the weekend without queuing... A testament to how fun this place is. Really friendly bar staff and good choice of beers. They also have a massive back room where you can show-off your dance moves. Would highly recommend visiting if you are having a night out in Brighton

Rolled the dice and went in for a pint and was not disappointed. Super chilled place that oozes cool. The walls are covered in LPs that the staff are cool to play. There is a pizza place at the back and it converts into a late night (3am) disco if you have the stamina.

One of the best experiences I have ever had on a night out. The staff were so lovely and had so much jokes with them. The music slaps as well as the cool lil games across the venue. The bouncer was one of the best ones I have had a chat too. Top top lad him. Would defo come back for another night out and say hi to these legends again!

It’s great to see this Bar open again. (Visited July 27th evening) I’ve worked on Bond Street for years now, but I sadly haven’t been into Dead Wax for a while, so this was my first experience of the current team working there and they were all awesome. 🙌🏻 The 2 guys serving on the bar were super friendly to everyone and gave the place a nice welcoming atmosphere and girl serving the food was super friendly and helpful too. The food was great 10/10 I’d definitely recommend it if you want some decent beer and pizza with good staff and great music. 10/10

One of the things I love about Brighton is that you can pretty easily stumble upon places like this by accident. Inviting bar with a huge selection of vinyl for you to look through/pick out to play while you grab a decent pint. Oh, and they do great pizza here if you’re hungry.

Awesome environment, we had a large party visit for a late drink on Saturday evening. Jordan was so polite and even the bouncers were entertaining and accommodating.

On my last visit, we were a little disappointed to see that the menu had shrunk. Be warned that the menu on their website isn't actually their current one. However, everyone in our group found something to their taste. I enjoyed a vegan option - very tasty and impressively so considering I visited on day #1 of their new menu.

This is an awesome place to go for a drink. The drinks are pretty pricey, but that is made up for by the atmosphere and the lovely barmen too. The range of music they play here is incredible, and so there's something here for everyone to listen to, and you can even make requests from the huge library of vinyls they have. I've not had the pizzas here myself, but have only heard great things, so can't wait to try one out.

There are many bars in Brighton and many of them are great. This place is, by a country mile, my favourite. A combination of record store, pizza place, gig venue and bar all somehow magically crammed into a pretty standard sized building makes Dead Wax a truly unique experience. The staff are always friendly and keen to help with both record purchases (fancy a listen to a potential purchase? On it goes) and knowledgeable about the booze on offer, which is varied and decent. The pizzas they serve are a mixture of traditional classics and new quirky creations, all of them tasty, filling and cooked to order. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed as is the crowd and they out on some awesome nights here, from jazz to hip hop, techno to drum and bass. You really can't go wrong here, any time of any day.

Drinks were nice, food was cool, music was cool and we were really rooting for it to be vibey. But we saw a 7 person group walk in and immediately leave, and we just couldn't help but think all chances of a mildly busy venue had been lost. Pizza menu looks tidy though

The venue itself is really lovely, has a super nice feel but what isn't nice, is the state of the toilets. It's ridiculous to have such a large venue and such tiny facilities. There's one tiny single cubical upstairs and one downstairs. Loos are dirty and a twenty min wait each time you want to go. Asked for access to disabled and staff declined. You need to address it as will really put people off what is otherwise a really cool place to go.

Would highly recommend the music quiz on Wednesday and the atmosphere of the place is very friendly. Good place to go if you're looking for a few drinks; pints are standard price but we found the spirits a bit more expensive.

We had my friends surprise 21st birthday here and it was amazing! They accommodated us with a large corner of the room which was perfect for the 25 of us. They let us decorate the entire area. They were extremely relaxed and patient with us even when we became drunk and rowdy and they were very helpful. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for a birthday location. Huge thank you!!!

A very cool bar with copious amounts of records to choose from to ask the DJ to play, don’t get too excited though as there is a lot of cheesy pop to sift through before you find anything worth playing. Although there are some good northern soul records and hip hop if you dig deep. There’s a wide selection of craft beers to choose from and the pizzas are incredible! They can can take a long time to reach you if the bar is busy and with only one pizza chef on, they also forgot some of our sides too in the rush but everything was worth the wait. I walked past recently and there was a board outside advertising buy one get one free pizzas on Sunday between 5pm – 10pm so look out for the special deals, not that it’s that expensive anyway. For anyone that loves beer, pizza and music!

Friendly staff, with freshly honest attitude. The entrance to this place is very misleading. Records and very standard beer. Usually this is a U-turn sign for us. However, when venturing inside the is a large room, which despite being overground, feels as if it is a deep cellar. There, one can find a proper selection of craft beer, a DJ and pizza to accompany all that. Definitely a place to return to.

For the true music lover wandering the late night streets of Brighton, look no further than Dead Wax Social. It's a solid pub with a back wall filled with hundreds of vinyl records. Pick a record and pass it to your bartender and if your choice was worthy, they'll spin it for the rest of the patrons. Then you can be justified in your music taste and celebrate with a pint.

Pleasant atmosphere, eclectic music selection and a regular crowd that are equally interesting. Drinks are standard for a town center pub and the food is very nice. Stays open later than most, attracts a mostly younger crowd and is often crowded but still worth a visit.

A strange mix between a bar and a restaurant - I like it! Low lighting makes for a nice warm feel. Only a couple of hiccups to note: food can take a bit too long and the pizzas are kinda average, but not terrible. Also took a group of friends here once for food only to have missed the kitchen by a minute despite having been at the bar with a few drinks for a fair amount of time. Could've done with a member of staff asking whether or not we were hoping to get a bite to eat. I'd still come here though :-) Think they have a regular pub quiz/bingo thing happening which is...interesting.

Sort of dropped in by accident. Having a passing interest in old vinyl records, thought I'd see what was on offer. Never expected to be sat down drinking an exquisite, if somewhat lively real ale, whilst tucking into one of the most flavoursome pizzas I've ever tasted. Only ordered the 7" as it was just a lunchtime snack, but wish I'd ordered the 12" and snacked later. Its a wonderfully quirky venue playing some top tunes and even though it wasn't busy, still somehow created a great atmosphere. And of course as an added bonus, some great vinyl records to flick your fingers through. Highly recommended if you're after a simple laid back experience with pizzas that pack one hell of a flavour punch.

This isn't the place if you want daylight or outside seating...apart from that it's brilliant, you can put vinyl on to play, great atmosphere, great drinks and in my opinion just about the best pizzas in Brighton. Quirky and well worth a visit, if only for the pizza...can't say enough about the pizza! 🍕

It's a late night bar/club, that's what you get. It's often not as busy as many, early in the evening so it's a good place to bridge from bars to clubs on your night out. Or if you're getting old like me, then it's often as far as you get. Good selection of booze, always friendly and tucked away in the lanes away from the main bar areas. Recommended.

When it comes to the pizza - the current kitchen Fat Boys Pizza is pretty bad: tasteless, cold in the middle, most likely pre-cooked/pre-made. Also, the fridge beer selection is now more limited. Shame as previously we really liked to hang out there.

There is an absolutely huge selection of craft beers available here, everything from Brewdog, to Island IPA and beers from the guys at Bison Beer. The staff are great at recommendations, the menu is that huge it can be a little overwhelming. Dead Wax also do pizza! Their cheesy garlic bread is a wonder in itself, it is really delicious. The vegetarian pizzas are also lovely, but watch out for the meatier pizzas, they tend to be really greasy and can be difficult to eat. There's always a great vibe here and it's a good place to start your weekend on a Friday evening.

They had a disturbingly well-drawn assassination fund and a ballgag fund for my two favourite people. Jokes aside, there's a pizza parlour conveniently placed inside and a couple of entertainment systems; a semi-functioning pinball game, and a tabletop two-player classic arcade system. It looks vintage af inside and I've only been inside during the day, so I'd imagine it'd be much more interesting at night. They play some good tunes as well.
