It's a very unusual pub as it has lots of Art Deco fittings and fixtures! We loved it! The staff were very friendly, specially George went an extra mile to help me out on something very important! The gin & tonic was really an artisan's drink!

The Function Room is a great space for hired events. Has a bar (unattended), tables and chairs. And large enough for a bouncy castle. Parking available but limited. Get there early to grab a spot, but surrounding streets have on-road parking unvouchered.

Hired their lovely function room for a video shoot and we were really impressed. Very friendly staff, amazing space and well kitted out with chesterfield sofas and plenty of tables & chairs. It's cosy and extremely versatile. Would book again.

You are guaranteed to be welcomed by a friendly face here. Excellent selection of beers, gins and a couple of good whiskies! I tried their sunday roast for the first time this last weekend of February and it was one of the best roasts I've ever had (and I've had my share). Dogs, prams and everyone welcomed.

Popped in last night (with a friend who lives locally) for a meal. I had the steak burger and chips, I can honestly say it was the best burger I’ve had for many years.. the pleasant waitress got the order right, (I ordered different toppings to the standard ones) it was cooked to perfection, the chips were thin, crispy and delicious. All the staff were so nice and it was reasonably priced. I’d definitely go back and would recommend it to everyone.

Its a fantastic pub. Great staff. Most of the glorious original architecture remains so a lovely atmosphere. Amazing food the Sunday roast is honestly one of best I have had and its consistently good all year round. Nice new outdoor booths and small children's play area make it a real gem.

Visited with friends on Bank Holiday Monday, lovely garden with individual booths with heaters and other outdoor tables also. Really clean and checked in and all staff are wearing masks, so we felt safe. The food! Omg it was sublime! I had slow cooked pork belly which was delicious as was the mash and the gravy was wonderful. We had a lovely bottle of wine( I'm not much of a drinker but even I really enjoyed my glass) Definitely will visit again!

Covid-safe Tier 2 dining outside your bubble? No problem in the dining tent outside this pub. The food we ate was very good, not masses of choice, but just enough I reckon. A little on the expensive side but the quality justified the cost. The only criticism would be just 2 electric patio heaters for the whole tent. Simply not enough to banish the December weather.

If I was just scoring the food, this venue would be a 10*! Incredible chicken snitzel. One of the tastiest meals I've eaten for years. The staff are delightful. Really committed to being hospitable. Plus, unlike chains, they mean it. Would've been top marks if it wasn't for lack of attention to simple details. 'Every' toilet needs a lock or latch on the door and they have to be spotless. Children's play area a bit tatty. And no latch on the gate to make sure they're safely contained. This pub could be epic and attract people from miles around. Original Art Deco architecture with stunning aesthetics. A rare jewel. Sort the little touches with care and attention to detail and be outstanding!

This is one of your better carveries. The inside and staff are pleasant, the food is a good standard, especially the vegetables, of which there was a wide, well cooked variety. The meats are the better, tastier cuts, such as rump. The lamb was from Sussex and succulent. Table service is provided. The cost is not high and good value for money. There is parking outside and nearby . They make an effort to serve delicious fare.

I will admit I'm not a pub person (hence 4 stars not 5) but I know The Ladies Mile is tremendously popular, has a great atmosphere & the food is good. They also have some great acts & discos there. Well worth a visit if you enjoy socialising with a good choice of drinks.

Tuesday lunch: soup and pie of the day nicely cooked and presented. Pub's temperature chilly- no fires lit. Christmas decorating ongoing over lunch. Small selection of ales. Fascinating Art Deco Heritage. Perhaps a better atmosphere at other times and other days.

Everybody says the food is really good on the reviews, where are the menus? Been in for a drink a few times, never any sign of food? Must be me, perhaps you have ask at the bar for menu? Usualy a good selection of ales.

You always get a warm welcome in this lovely pub. Kids are welcome to with a playground to the rear of the pub. When you are there take a moment to check out the inside of the pub, it really is a lovely building with nice features.

Russell Tisbury not only cooks superb food throughout the week but also cooks by far the best roast in brighton and maybe the world , from the moment you walk in the door to the moment you leave the service is spot on . I cannot recomend tisburys kitchen anymore and to top it off russell himself is a great guy which makes the whole time spent in his culinary company even better !!!

A cracking thriving community pub of the type all too rare these days. Always a lively chat to be had at the bar and the friendliest landlord and landlady to be found anywhere, really don't know what the previous reviewer was on about. Great events programme too.

Went to a wedding in the barn next to the pub, very nice. The main bar had one member of staff on a Saturday afternoon, which was not enough and after waiting 15 minutes we retreated to the local shop.
