Stunning food, diverse wine list, super friendly stuff and all of it in a very informal and casual atmosphere! We found our home away from home! PS: you can buy to take away to the beach after lunch!
S. B.
We went for dinner while visiting Brighton and had such a great meal. Every dish was delicious, and seemed like really good value. Staff were really friendly and also knowledgeable about the wine - we tried 4 different ones and all were great. Would definitely go back next time we’re in Brighton!
T. S.
Omg we found this place amazing. I'd said earlier that evening that i fancied a tapas style meal and we stumbled upon this place... what a lovely lovely place, food was out of this world fresh and delicious, wine was sooo good we brought a bottle to take home. And our waitress was knowledgable and just lovely. Honestly well priced and just lovely
A. P.
Fabulous wine bar and tapas! Laid back atmosphere with good wine, food and cocktails. Barman and waiters were friendly and fun - offering suggestions and recommendations. We had the RN422 Riesling - recommended by the barman -and it was delicious! Tapas was super tasty with interesting ingredients and variety. Highly recommend!
J. F.
Lovely ambiance, very friendly staff and a very interesting menu! We had the Plaice and Guinea Fowl and truly amazing, massive oysters! A definite revisit on next trip to Brighton!
V. I.
Food was great but better to come well-fed, portions are tiny, but you're coming for the new tastes. Didn't like not the wine (Austrian white), neither the cider - too sour and smells yeast too much.
d.
Great restaurant, amazing food. Wide range of menu items that I'd never tried before. A true dining experience, made better by our waiter Andrew, a hospitality superstar, who knows everything about the drinks on offer and can talk for days about wine. Highly recommend.
c. c.
Small plates, wine and beers. All insteresting , different and amazing. Enjoyed everything I ate and drank.
The staff are helpful, very well informed and just a good bunch. Really great spot.
R. T.
Amazing wines. The bread is delicious. Would be better with more vegan options and more servers. There weren't many people working so the service was slow but the employees were lovely regardless. Definitely recommend coming here, especially if you love natural wine.
C. P.
Banging, great food, top end service, amazing knowledge of extensive wine list thats available. Will return oh yes!.... just returned again last night (17/08/21) again, just wow, the food is so so good, will bring friends next time to share the experience, well done guys!

Exceptional - Organic flavoursome food and cocktails made to perfection and very friendly service.
Plateau is also dog friendly so hearing this was very welcoming news. Thanks for looking after us, Josh.
This was the highlight of our trip to Brighton.!
Highly recommend 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Really lovely organic wine bar that serves delicious modern british cuisine, cheery and helpful staff keep the vibe fresh and welcoming.

We've been to Brighton for a weekend getaway and found this lovely restaurant just a few meters away from the centre. The chicken we had this day was absolutely stunning and probably the best chicken we had for ages. The wine menu is outstanding and the waiters are very friendly and will help you to find the best possible fit for your meal. As it is very popular, I would recommend to get a reservation as it can be very crowded on the weekends.
A. P.
Fantastic martini, amazing food and spot on wine reccomendations. Great for small plate grazing at the bar which is exactly what I did on my visit. Very cosy and welcoming, even more appreciated as a lone diner in Brighton for work. Highly reccomend.
O. R.
My favourite place in Brighton hands down. Such a buzzy atmosphere at any time of the day, varied menu, reasonably priced, and an excellent wine menu (again reasonable prices for great quality). Unpretentious and knowledgable staff, substantial small plates that won’t leave you hungry, plenty of stuff for vegetarians and allergy sufferers. All in all I couldn’t improve Plateau if I tried.
I. G.
Want cheese and wine? This is the place. Lovely decor, dark and romantic feel. An excellent date night place, or just for a nibble.
T. O.
Delightful restaurant with excellent small plate menu, just perfect for a lunchtime bite or evening to share with friends....did I mention they do great cocktails too !!!
A. G.
Incredible playlist (they play vinyl records) and wide range of drinks (including orange wines). Food could be improved a bit and service as well. We booked a table for 2 well in advance and they told us it was to sit at the bar. Then we were told to sit where we want and finally we were asked to vacate the table at the window because they needed it for three people and then they gave it to another couple. Might have to dress a bit better next time we go out to be able to join the trendy crowd...
J. R.
Absolutely superb. A well thought out menu, top quality ingredients and great cooking made for a fantastic lunch . Thank you, we’ll be back.
R. L.
The best wine in town! I don't say that lightly either as I've tried all the wine bars. If you're into wine and want to try natural, organic or biodynamic wines this is a must! Also, the food is brilliant and fresh. You must book at weekends!
G. D.
Brilliant little wine bar, not much room inside so if your planning on eating here in these colder months definitely book a table
c. l.
Lovely staff and excellent food. Great price for the quality. V covid safe
M. V.
Amazing wine, and lovely, very interesting small plates. Staff are very knowledgeable about their products
C. T.
Cosy Brighton restaurant in the lanes. Great for a quiet date or small groups.
Known for the sharing boards/ platters.
Easy to over order, but too good to not try a selection.
Ask the knowledgable staff to guide you on your wine choice, the Gamay was delicious. 🍷
Have been a regular for years, they still don’t disappoint!
D. G.
Down from Cymru 🏴 for the weekend and a friend recommended. Diolch / Thank you for fabulous food, wine, service and atmosphere. Shame its such a long way or we'd come more often !!
E. F.
Lovely little spot. Randomly happened upon this place one night a couple of years ago later on in the evening and starving, and they happened to have a table. So glad they did! I've come back to it as a "go-to" when I'm in Brighton as it's really tasty and the staff are lovely. As a vegetarian, these guys know how to cook some seriously good veg - but my husband has also really enjoyed the meat dishes too. Would recommend!
K. C.
Delicious small plates and natural wines. We loved the panhaggerty with comte and truffle oil. And the cods roe. Mmmm!
G. O.
Beautiful food, the flavors were incredible. I couldn't have asked for a more delicious combination of flavors. The service was fast and we were really well looked after. We will refund tomorrow for lunch!
G. M.
Plateau is the place to go if you want to eat interesting food paired with unusual wine. Food is served as small plates, each with it's own distinct flavours, colours and textures. The wine pairings just add to the interest of the whole experience. The service is great with none of the stifling, over-attention that sometimes accompanies the gourmet experience. Great place to meet a friend for lunch or a second date. It's probably not the place to go if you're on a budget. If you're 'doing keto' you'll also find things to eat on the menu which is an added bonus!
c. c.
Lovely staff, great atmosphere, good food. Had a lovely time and would totally recommend
R. R.
Dropped in here as part of a Brighton Food Tour for a quick wine tasting. They specialize in natural wines. We had a tasting of two different bottles. I would say they were good, but I'm really a beer drinker. However those that like wine said they preferred the SP68
M. B.
Exciting choice of small plates to share, and great selection of wines in a vibrant atmosphere. A lovely place to visit after a swim in Brighton.
P.
Good for wine, beer, tea or coffee. There is a tapas style menu for light bites for easy sharing; with a larger menu for more substantial fare. Reasonably priced with friendly, helpful staff. Go try it.
A. T.
We are so glad we found this place during our weekend in Brighton. Great wine and beer, nice food (vegan options available!) and lovely service. We'll definitely come back next time we are in town.
D. E.
Lovely staff and decor, nice wine
N. W.
Cozy atmosphere with friendly service and good food. Price is reasonable but slightly expensive compared to other similar restaurants.
R.
Such an amazing experience, had a fantastic experience and can't fault it whatsoever. Noah was fantastic and such a vibe. Thanks guys!
A. B.
Great food, good atmosphere, very good vegetarian dishes.
K. G.
Really cute place with tasty small plates. The prices seemed quite reasonable and the wine/cider selection was great.
S. M. P.
Great selection of French wines for all tastes and moods. Very friendly service and atmosphere.
C. H.
Amazing food, staff, cocktails & a wine selection to be very proud of. Nice!
B. C.
Great food, great wine and great staff. Honestly so pleased to have found such a gem - we'll be back!
p. p.
Great cocktails and loved the orange wine. The food is small plates, we hadn’t planned to eat but the menu looked so good that we did. Also - you only get a table for 1 hour if just drinks, 1.5 with food. Staff very attentive, we had a good spot in the window to watch the world pass by. Very cosy!
Q.
Great wine bar with small plates. Beef tartare and lamb belly were the highlight for us, but everything was so so tasty. Friendly staff as well!
J. M.
Wonderful food and great vibe. The staff were extremely friendly and recommended some great natural wines. Definitely worth a visit.
R. L.
Our first visit to Plateau was great! We got a table at the bar and the bar staff were friendly as we sat there and saw them make an amazing variety of cocktails. (We also had some, they were delicious). Very happy to recommend drinks to us from their menu, that we also loved. Delicious small plates - if you go (and you should) the oysters were amazing.
I. V.
Good music and location, interesting bar and kind staff. Had the cured wild bass with pickled rhubarb, and the crispy potatoes with comte and truffle oil, both delicious. Overall a great experience!
P. W.
Fantastic food ,really impressed.im going back again after 3 visits in 2 weeks!
J. T.
Good ambiance with nice mix of music. The food was very good quality and good value. It's a very pleasant place to sit with the large windows open though the summer. Very helpful and friendly staff.
S. B.
I came here with two friends a few weekends back and we had a great time. It's a little on the expensive side but that makes it great for a special occasion, and this is reflected in the quality of the food and drinks. The small menu meant we were encouraged to try things we may not have otherwise. The staff were all very accommodating, attentive, and friendly. There was an issue with our first round of drinks and they very kindly knocked them off of the bill. We also weren't pressured to leave at any point (although I would've understood if we had been!) - we had been planning to move onto another bar but decided to just stick around and continue to drink here! COVID measures all in place and being adhered too as well.
G. D. P.
Excellent food with a laid back atmosphere paired with a fantastic wine list
C. Y.
Friendly staffs, fantastic wine lists and awesome food display! Def coming back!
r. l.
Excellent drinks - wine, cocktails and coffee. Food was very tasty too - small, interesting plates. Overall highly recommended.
C. F.
Gorgeous!! I couldn't recommend this place enough. Fab veggie options
J. G.
Love this place. Great food and vibe
K. T.
Delicious food and brilliant wine. Really nice vibe. However, this place loses a star in my opinion because our waiter was wearing his mask slung under his nose all evening which let down what otherwise felt like a very safe and well-managed atmosphere.
M. B.
Really charming staff and great selection of small plates. Amazing natural wines and knowledgeable bar staff.
S. P.
2 of us dropped into Plateau to pass some time as I had heard about the cocktails and wanted to try them.
For me a good cocktail has a bit of pomp and ceremony about it, even if it is down to a good garnish it is that look (and of course the taste) that makes it feel special and in m your mind makes you not mind spending the money that a cocktail costs.
We had, 2 x Monks in Venezuela (rum based), 1 x Chai Mezcalita (Tequila based) and a shotgun (I think Bourbon or Whisky based), they were nice enough, no real pomp or ceremony to them, a single sage leaf on the “monks” cocktail, a star anise of the Chai, The cheapest cocktail was £9
We also tried the Terrine which was really tasty and nice, and some bread to eat it with £9 for those two items.
Altogether 4 cocktails, a terrine and bread came to £51.75
The “optional” service charge was pre added to the bill, a practice that I loathe as the onus is on the customer to the get it removed should they feel the need to (how many people will let that slide instantly making your meal 12.5% more expensive), not that there was anything wrong with the service here, but then also does seating you, taking your order and bringing you a couple of drinks and a terrine warrant an extra charge.
The person brought us our bill (and I think brought out one round of our drinks) wasn’t overly friendly either not hostile or anything like that but just going through the motions.
I want to give 3.5 stars but I cannot, and 3 would be too low so went with the 4

Plateau is a lovely little wine bar. They serve predominately natural wine, but also have a variety of other options from beer & cider to a selection of cocktails. They also offer small plates of food. Service was excellent. Will definitely visit again!
K. s.
Food menu was a little limited BUT due to their policy of only sourcing organic, local and seasonal this should be expected. It changes all the time and, most importantly, every single dish was a delight. We are total foodies and this was the business!
Pink pepper gin cocktail was also one of best the Mrs has ever had (and she has had a few:)
D. S.
Lovely food and ambiance. Great range of vegetarian and meat based dishes. 6 drinks, 5 "small" (generous) plates and a cheese board came to under £40 per head.
R. R.
Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff coupled with great food. Can't go wrong!
Y.
The best customer service at the bar and the rest of the FOH. Every single dish flawless! So delish! I recommend the lamb belly with chickpeas & green harissa, crispy potatoes and the bbq plaice on the bone 🤯🤤
X. B.
the quality of the food very good, good service, good quality, we will return
S. J.
Visited Brighton for the weekend and came here for drinks on Friday and Saturday and then food on Sunday. Lovely people, not the norm cocktails and beautiful food. Highly recommended!!
R. F.
Really enjoyable and varied wine selection. Be aware of discretionary service charge added to the bill
P. L. (.
Cool, low-lit bar with French vibes. Good selection of wine and cocktails (updated menu photographed)
J. C.
The service is absolutely fabulous. We only came in for the wine but tried the crispy potatoes from the kitchen and it was delicious. The design is beautiful and simple. Super tidy and comfortable. Can't wait to pop in again
J. M.
Possibly the most enjoyable dining experience of my life. Idel setting for couples. Absolutely beautiful small plates, divine wine and perfect music. The staff were also knowledgeable, enthusiastic and charming
A. S.
Only stopped for a couple of glasses of wine, but what a wonderful place. Can't wait to eat out here and post another review.
M. M.
One of the best dining experiences I've had. Waiter was attentive and the food was top notch
R. L.
great little wine cocktail bar , service was amazing - super friendly staff. This place had a really great vibe & the cocktails were excellent. Can’t wait to get drunk here again!
K. R.
Superb low light Atmosphere, welcoming and VERY Knowledgable staff, with a great if slightly off the wall list of wines/beers/cider etc and tapas.
Did not disappoint in the least, we cannot wait to go back.
*Side note, Covid taken seriously and staff very accommodating for someone on the "High Risk" list*.
a. p.
Great little natural wine bar with character and friendly staff
J. R.
I've visited 3 or 4 times over the last 6 years, generally every time I visit Brighton, and somehow it's got better every time, so it's about time I left a review.
The most recent visit the wine list was impeccable. We had a carafe of a natural orange wine, and a sweet wine to finish. Both seriously good, and well priced. So good in fact I tried to find them afterwards on vivino.
There are some expensive wines on the menu, but no more expensive than a restaurant (and surely better). And there are also great wines for £6 a glass, so it suits any budget. Well worth a visit.
P. Y.
I don't drink alcohol, but my mates enjoyed their drinks a lot! The coffee restored my faith in humanity tho! And the atmosphere was grand!
M. W.
The most fabulous food I have ever tasted paired with great wine by knowledgeable staff. We’ll be back ❤️
N. V.
Second time here for proper food, been in a few times for drinks and nibbles. Staff have excellent knowledge of their drinks offering. Food is delicious - today we had bavette steak that was beautifully cooked, and my ice cream desert was yummy and very generously sized. The background music is just right. The wine we chose was on the pricey side (justified by anniversary celebration) but wonderful, great recommendation by our waiter. You can't beat a local independent restaurant. I will make an effort to come back more often.
C. B.
Lovely wine, tasty bites and a bit different, such welcoming staff. Did not book but sat at the bar with my son's. I was impressed by the knowledge of the staff on the wine list. Great evening ... finished evening with cocktail. Soooo nice
B. G.
Nice place, really busy and lively. Really lovely menu to chose a wide variety of fishy, veggie or meaty. I absolutely implore you to get the mushrooms as a side with any dish you do end up choosing. They stole the show.
Ask about the wine before you choose, we ended up sending ours back as it was unfiltered natural wine that tasted too bitter. The waiter was kind to swap it out for us no problem - but ask about them all first.
C. W.
Great service, friendly staff and amazing food. Cod cheeks and lamb belly a must!
E. L.
The ambient is lovely and service was very good. The food was tasty, can't complain about it, but it is slightly overpriced and the portions are a bit small.
I would go for a 3.8 review, but 4 stars is the closest.
Don't go if you're very hungry as you'll need at least 2 starters and a main, then you're looking at around £30.
The drink selection was very good and varied with a good range of prices.
S. P.
Nice wine selection. Cocktail menu was a bit lacking and the one I had was okay. Hosts seemed a bit snooty and we did get told to move table although it hadn't been reserved. Great for older clientele, maybe not for the younger.
N. F.
The service is absolutely fabulous. We only came in for the wine but tried the crispy potatoes from the kitchen and it was delicious. The design is beautiful and simple. Super tidy and comfortable. Can't wait to pop in again!
B. Z.
Guys do yourself a favour,go to that place, thank me later. The potatoes was unbelievable and the wine amazing. The dark hair waitress clearly know what she's selling. Definitely a MUST visit in Brighton... I would visit again and again!
D. O.
I Iove this restaurant in Brighton - it's one of my favourites - the menu is simple but so flavoursome - it's like a sensory experience you won't forget. I also love the music they play in there. Always a delicious visit.
S. M.
A great spot to enjoy a glass of wine, a bottle, or several, with nibbles or a meal. The atmosphere is made by the friendly and knowledgeable staff, some great tunes, and the sound of a venue full of people enjoying it. You don't need to be a sommelier as staff will happily guide you, and while you might initially think the wine is a bit pricey, the quality totally justifies the cost and you won't regret it once you taste it.
D. S.
Nice place to chill out definitely try a great selection of cheese staff friendly and very much professional!
L.
YOU MUST TRY THE AUBERGINE. IT IS LIFE-AFFIRMING.
Solid choice for nice small plates and lovely drinks. Service was great too (thanks Susan!). Would definitely return and recommend to friends.
H. P.
So impressed with this lovely little restaurant. Ambience spot on with a funky, lively vibe. Staff attentive and knowledgeable without being too much and the food was out of this world. How they packed so much flavour into that fish showed the work of a very talented chef. The walnut tart was delicious, being not too sweet and perfectly balanced. Thank you
C. A.
We entered the room, and once seated, the waitress explained the menu written on the blackboard on the wall. We noticed a huge variety of European wines (French, Italian, Spanish etc.) and spirits in general. The wine menu seemed to be printed on a paper wrapping bread.
J. f.
I'm not much of a wine drinker but this place converted me! Staff were sound and knowledgeable while offering a laid back experience with great music
m. m.
Food wise this place has taken a big step down, they used to be known for their platters, fish, meat or veggie boards laden with a variety of goodness. Now thier plateaus are for the meat a slab of pork belly and the fish a mushy soup of Brill.
For £80 a head (4 of us with a bottle of wine to share and 2 courses) it's now over priced.
Why 3 stars ? The cocktails are really very good, friendly knowledgeable staff not pretencious at all, service is also excellent for the food. It's just the food which lets the place down now.
p. m.
Lovely setup just a step away from the narrow lanes opposite the Town Hall, sat outside in a warm August night and presented with two mains, whole grilled chicken in herbs marinate or a whole Place. Had the organic Rosé with the chicken and very pleased with both, slightly on the high mark £ but worth it. Will come back to explore the wine list further. Merci
A. K.
Love Plateau. We have been regular visitors for the last eight years. John makes fantastic cocktails. Food is superb and the staff are lovely. A French bistro with flair and twists. Five stars.
L. M.
Great wine list and snacks, only issue was we ordered the taramasalata to share and asked if it came with bread and the barman said he would bring some bread along with it but we didn’t know we had to pay extra until we got the bill. I’d rather be told it’s extra than get a surprise when paying.
J. C.
Good selection of wines and food. Vibrant atmosphere. Service decent.
J. G.
Really lovely place. Staff seem knowledgeable about their respective drinks and some really good wines. Cocktails were great too.
K. J.
What a place 😍 the wine and food was insane and such fab service! If you go, make sure you get the bread and oil - the tastiest Sourdough ever!!
D. M.
I read the reviews of this establishment and felt really good deciding that this would be a good place to have a nice date. I reserved a table ahead of time, making sure my date and I had a place to sit and enjoy a drink, as I heard this was a busy location. After ordering a bottle of wine to share and saying we decided we were uninterested in eating and just wanted to enjoy our wine, a waiter addressed us and asked if we would want to move to the bar, as tables were meant for customers ordering food. You can imagine my amazement as I had taken the time to reserve a place at the establishment and nothing on the website indicated that without a food order, we would be asked to leave our table. I, reluctantly agreed, and said that if we needed to move, we could, and about 5 minutes later, the waiter informed us that we could stay at our table but in the future, should just come to bar instead. In my opinion, this was inhospitable. I had taken the time to reserve a table at the establishment and was later informed that my presence at a table was not as important as a walk-in that wanted to eat. Although our wine was exquisite and we enjoyed the atmosphere, the staff made us feel unwelcome and I am very sad about that. If this venue would prefer clients to have food, despite advertising as a “wine bar” (on Google) I wish they would market as such.
R. G.
Delicious!
Very cosy and relaxed restaurant, love the decor and the food was simply amazing.
Beautiful plates, fresh and full with flavor. Good selection of wines.
The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was great.
The card machine wasn't working in the end and after four failed payments i had to go to the closest cash machine. But probably not their fault...
Highly recommend.
J. K.
Platters are amazing and highly recommended, between 2 just one is enough with a few sides. The wine list is all organic, would suggest trying before buying lots of wines we hadn't come across, but some fabulous selections! The staff are incredibly knowledgeable about their products and wines so asks lots of questions and enjoy the show.
M. K.
Great wines on the menu, including a selection of Orange by the glass. Also snagged a bottle to take away. Homemade sourdough was excellent!
T. F.
Fantastic service and very good wine
A. G.
Great food and ambiance, a lovely way to spend a birthday (however, £5 for 4 anchovies is a bit mental) x
I. W.
I visited this restaurant a few months ago. Great atmosphere but a shame there are so many meat items on the menu. Would like more vegan options
S. J.
Lovely place with amazing food and great service.
S. W.
Thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant the food was impeccable and the staff were friendly and attentive. Couldn't fault our experience at all.
J. S.
I was really looking forward to this, the restaurant had been highly recommended, I ended up feeling a little deflated and disappointed by the experience.
Pros
Friendly staff, trendy furnishings, nice cocktails, extensive wine list.
Cons
The large plate/main course was underwhelming, the textures were great but the flavour was too fishy, and slightly over done (for a steak).
The menu was on the wall, and no where else, people were looking it up on their phones, taking photos or squinting at the it, I know it's the vibe/brand but it was just very awkward to make sense of it and order.
Finally were hurried out, even with 3 spare tables for two around is.
The bill came to around £150, which would be fine if not for these stressful niggles.
Maybe there is a better experience to be had but I was disappointed.

Great food and atmosphere. Staff v friendly 😁
S.
Really good food and wine with friendly staff
K. G.
I really liked Plateau - I had a two-course set menu lunch. The courgette starter I would pass on, but the flat iron steak was superb.
A wine place, but did have a very good beer list too if that is your thing.
M. V.
Very nice location, delicious food and attentive service! Seabass carpaccio and makarel very tasty and well presented. Very nice experience!
S. B.
Absolutely blooming amazing. Best food I've had for a long time. Simple French cuisine done to perfection with a cool contemporary ambience and lively staff. Fantastic!!!!!
D. R.
It's my favourite restaurant in Brighton. The staff are awesome and helpful, the food is amazing and the choice of bio wines and drinks in general is great. Brilliant to come for just cocktails too - some of the best in Brighton.
L. F.
Brilliant bar man, amazing food and sensational drinks. Highly recommended this little gem of a place.
P. S.
Third time there in a 4 month period and loved it every time. Got the vegetarian platter the first time and the vegetarian mains the two other times. They are constantly changing which is nice. The wine and desserts were great as well. Friendly service which is a bit slow some times but the rest outweighs it.
B. D.
Great experience here Friday evening after another restaurant let us down. As soon as we walked in nicely greeted, they went out of their way to find us a table. Waiting staff very easy going and attentive. Few stupid comments re wine from one fella but didn't ruin things.
Food was really tasty, great selection, well prepared. Not over the top, thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the experience.
Thanks again.
j. B.
High priced menu, with bread and Olive oil £4. Food was good and fresh oyster tasted great and tartre. The restaunt is Brighton pretentious with at atmosphere that reflected this. Staff where good but rather preach obout things than answer the question. All in all worth a visit if you have the money but debatable if I would go back.
C. K.
Great wines, spirits and service
M. B.
Great, laidback Brighton restaurant in a central part of town. Pretty small, loads of atmosphere especially at night, decent value too - not especially cheap but not expensive for the experience. Excellent cocktail and wine list, plenty do interesting food with many different influences, from small plates to mains. Service is really good, on it but not in your face. Real mix of diners adds to the charm. Overall if you're in Brighton in a group of 2-4 this is a cracking place to come.
A. C.
Food absolutely delicious. I had celeriac fritter which was excellent, then steak cooked to perfection. Wine is a bit pricey hence 4 stars instead of 5.
N. N.
One of my top places in Brighton. Food is great, amazing staff and service!! Try a Brunswick cocktail if you haven't yet. Also an amazing selection of wines and whisky.
A. B.
We've eaten here a couple of times. The food is always great (as is the service) and they have a fantastic selection for the wine menu. On both visits, we asked the server to recommend wine to try and we were glad we asked!
N. M.
The biggest Highlight of my 1 month trip threw Europe! Food is phenomenal, wine list is a real natural wine lover paradise and staff became very close to my heart while I was there! Félix, Louis, Jon, suzan and the rest of the crew just made me feel like I belonged. Definitly a must on your trip if you are near Brighton.
Y. S.
What a gem. Make sure you order some food while you visit.
Y. U.
Really nice vegetarian food. Well spiced and good portions. Nice music and good atmosphere.
B. W.
Mostly delicious, lovely atmosphere, great wine selection (starting from fairly pricey through to "out of my league") and friendly staff ... A touch loud inside, and the asparagus starter dish was overpriced, but the crumbed pork w/mustard and pickles was a revelation. You can't go wrong here, just prepare your wallet.
S. G.
Very nice selection of food & wines. Friendly & helpful staff & all was good quality. Would definitely recommend
S. W.
Lovely restaurant and menu, good friendly service. I had a delicious skate wing with beetroot and capers but unfortunately we ordeted a dangerously over salty side of Brussels tops with anchovy dressing. My mouth is raw sore! Couldn't eat It. Also, diabolical coffee...
Very good buzzy atmosphere but if you're after a chatty dinner, forget it... Acoustics do not permit. Will return, maybe for lunch?
V. M.
Lovely food and selection of wine. Amazing staff.
T. T.
Looks like a pub, but turns out to be a wine bar with very friendly service. No beers on tap, but a small selection of local brews. Excellent handcrafted meals.
M. C.
Superb food! Whoever is chef here really cares for the best ingredients cooked to perfection. I have never been disappointed. Also a lovely relaxed, Brightony vibe. Highly recommended.
T. R.
Absolutely superb, if you want a different dining experience, try here.
S. S.
Fantastic food and natural wine selection. Great service and good value for the quality of the menu.
T.
Great oysters, good wine and food, a few years ago the place would have easily got 5 stars , but I got the distinct impression that the staff weren't as enthusiastic as they used to be. Or as french!
R. M.
Owned by the same guys that own Mange Tout in Trafalgar St. That's says it all since both are excellent. Very busy most of the time , wines can be a little pricy but wonderful. Recently got a recommended write up in the which travel guide to Brighton.
D. D.
Superb service fabulous food. Exceedingly good wine list and to top it off their cocktails are out of this world. That bar keep sure can mix
S. B.
Lovely French restaurant in the North Lanes. Great atmosphere. Excellent food. Superb wine list. Friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit.
V. B.
Excellent food, vibe and prices. Would recommend for romantic dinner in Brighton
A. B.
Great food, awesome wines (especially if you're an oenophile, and enjoy natural wines), lovely people and stellar service! Keep it up chaps!
J. C.
Food lovely except for silly sharing plates. Service rushed and really noisy, not relaxing at all. Won't be returning unfortunately. It used to be excellent
L. M.
Great wine, lovely cheese, friendly stuff.
P. B.
Delicious food, excellent and well curated list of nature wines, many good ones available by the glass. Service was also excellent.
T. L.
Jacob is human perfection in bar manager/ cocktail guru extraordinaire. Try the Remember The Main.
Great atmosphere, very cool staff and clientele.
We shall return.
T. B.
Fantastic food and wine list. I am still levitating over the pork belly, beef tongue and duck mains (for two) 24 hours later. A well educated staff, and a comfortable environment.
D. C.
Food was decent. Small plates, lots of wine on offer
M. E.
Came here for a bite to eat and a glass of wine. The service and the atmosphere meant we ended up staying for a full meal and a whole bottle of wine!! Service was silent and smooth. If you like good wine come here!!!
B. P.
Good wine selection but the servers seemed uninterested and "snooty". Server also tried to correct my pronunciation of the wine I chose! I thought, "I'm American not stupid and, oh, I was an Assistant Cellar Master at a small winery for three years. I know what I'm saying, dude. I made wine."
B. M.
Very good quality all around, only one toilet for males which resulted in queues but otherwise excellent
S. T.
Came here for a staff do and were so well looked after. The front of house were charm itself and food delicious and accommodating of our party. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.
A. C.
Great service, staff were friendly and helpful.
T. R.
Slightly overrated for the price, the atmosphere is particular and quite cosy, but the food wasn’t anything too special. Great ambiance, but the quality/price doesn’t match well.
M. u.
Amazing wine & food, lovely service . Thank you
Best place !
L. P.
Super little eatery for the more gastronomic punter. Nice little bar to sit at if alone; I was and so was the girl two seats down, we didn't chat. Missed opportunity. Plus, can't imagine it'd go down too well with my fiancee. Anyway. Will return.
D. O.
Fab wine & food menu, great place to enjoy time, in the best way :)
g. j.
The food was very tasty. The lunch set menu was reasonably priced and the service was just right, friendly without being intrusive. I will definitely go back.
M. C.
Can't think of a bad thing. Best night I'm so long. Great wine, service, food etc. High quality

S. D.
Delicious tapas and small plates and the wine and cocktail selection are absolute perfection. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. My fav spot in Brighton.
A. B.
Nice central located wine bar, great nibbles available to accompany the drinks!
E. S.
The food and wine were delicious and our waitress was lovely. The only negative was the expensive (but still tasty!) small pot of chips for £4.50.
J. S.
Great food and caring service. Interesting wine menu and the staff were happy to pair and recommend wines to our food.
L. S.
Staff are really nice. Although the food is really nice and dishes are refreshing and different, I don't think it's designed as a dinner per se, but more to go on the side with your wine
W. G.
Great wine bar with good prices and incredibly friendly staff.
N. M.
Loved it, great wine and excellent service
S. K.
Nice place to chill and enjoy good music and atmosphere but bloody expensive!!! Not that I mind paying a little extra but the portions were definitely not on the generous side!!! Come on guys give us a little more for our money!!!
C. D.
Excellent - we had a very late lunch here yesterday following my running the Brighton Marathon and I couldn't have been more pleased to be sitting in this cosy restaurant eating delicious food and wine straight afterwards along with family and friends who were spectators. We were a party of 11 [5 adults and 4 teenagers and 2 young children] - we chose to have the charcuterie plates, artisan breads, truffle chips and the ham hock pakoras followed by the meat, fish and vegetable platters and wild mushroom risotto. All was excellent but the highlights were the superb pakoras, seared tandoori mackerel, piccalilli, heritage beetroot, pork belly and the herb gnocchi. Service was excellent swift and the waitress very informative on what was being served and somewhere I would return to for sure. Thank you Plateau Brighton!
S. B.
Ah, it's great, just go there and eat some truffle oil crisps and drink wine
S. B.
Great food and good wine. Friendly and welcoming service. A small place so a little cramped.
J. J.
Fantastic food, exquisite wine and the bar manager is a total heartthrob.
E. A.
Food was delicious and the place had a good vibe. Not a great fan of the organic wine but I guess that is the matter of taste.

Delicious food, local beers and cocktails. A bit on the expensive side if you order off the A la carte menu but well worth it for a treat.
M. P. m.
Great menu. Great atmosphere. Great food. Extensive and interesting wine list.
P. W.
The food here is absolutely fantastic...however the front of house staff spoilt what should have been a pleasant lunchtime meal...the waiter seemed to have issues with all the clients and as the lunchtime service descended into chaos his attitude became worse...There was no order of service with people arriving after others being served first..one poor couple waited in vain for 45mins for their starter whilst the couple next to them competed all..I ordered the three course lunch special but gave up waiting after the first two...Also despite the restaurant being half empty the waiter deemed it ok to seat a family with young children next to us ...an obvious couple..Plateau train your staff to cope and manage...Shame the food is brilliant here
E. S. (.
