Have visited a few times, really lovely garden out back with surprisingly effective heaters even in winter! Pretty good selection of ales. Excellent Sunday lunch too, generally a very good all rounder of a pub! Menu has lots of tasty vegan options

Seemed OK. Didn't venture in the garden as it's December but prices higher than average. The baskets of ketchup etc. and the 'Reserved' notices on all the tables suggest this is a 'Diner' that sells beer rather than a pub that sells food

Nice food which was a mix of mezze and traditional pub grub. Masssive portions so you wont go hungry. Fairly blunt in terms of taste but nicely presented and very much what you want if you are looking for pub food. Nicely complemented by a great selection of beers and bar staff who are patient when taking orders.

This place is amazing! The best Sunday roast we have had anywhere in a long time. The staff were all lovely. The garden oasis of outdoor private cubicles is huge for any city restaurant with cover and heating if you need it. All types of people young and old. Dog on leash friendly. It has that artsy Brighton atmosphere we love. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the experience. I will be going back soon. (The toilets were super clean).

Cosy pub with brilliant outside space. Heaters ensure you can breathe fresh air throughout the year without freezing. The Open House offers a good selection of local and international drinks, and the decor makes you feel at home. I wish the toilets were a bit bigger, but you can't have everything. Definitely recommend!

I've been to the Open House many times but I felt last night warranted a top notch review. Myself and my boyfriend had booked a table to celebrate the end of our charity hike, and unfortunately we finished the hike much later than expected, meaning we were very late to arrive. The staff were incredibly understanding and all of them congratulated us on our achievement, and because we didn't have much time left on our booked table by the time we arrived, they found us space inside on other tables and continued to be very welcoming and kind. It really made the end of a very hard day very enjoyable and lifted our spirits, and allowed us to spend some time celebrating with friends and family. Thanks Open House team!

Incredible beer garden. The plants at this time of the year turn it into a bit of a jungle! The food here is disappointing, been a few times and it's nothing to shout home about. Great pub for a catch up with friends though and the staff are really friendly!

Was served by a girl a mullet who explain the track and trace system extremely well. I then met with my friends in a lovely smoking area, it was well lit and the beer was cold. Good pub food in one of the pods in the garden. That was previous visit six months ago. On latest visit I found the beer good and a pleasant atmosphere with good service at the bar. My companions had good food which they enjoyed. My fish was okay but the skinny chips were overcooked. It would have been better with chunkier chips.

This is my favourite pub in Brighton! The bar staff are super friendly, there's a great range of drinks and the garden is gorgeous, especially in summer. If you go in winter, the prime spot is the sofa next to the open fire!

Really great pub. If the sun is shining you can add another star as the beer garden is fantastic. The staff were all very friendly and efficient and the food we ordered (burger, fish & chips, chicken salad) were all top notch. Relatively quiet, but as it was a week day lunchtime, not surprising, but would be very keen to come back to check it out on a Friday night or weekend. Highly recommended. Cheers.

The Open House is great pub with an amazing secret garden. There are plenty of tables to sit in although you will need to make a booking for busy nights. There are heaters and booths in the garden with lovely plants and decorations. People are lovely and eager to help. Plenty of food options to choose from. Good selection of beers and ales with student discounts. A real gem.

Lively neighbourhood pub with many small seating areas in its garden. Some of the external seating booths have electric heating. It's quite noisy at times but, then, this is Brighton. For a meeting place near London Road railway station, it can't be beaten. Very limited metered car parking is available outside.

Used to live near this place and loved it for the great beer, atmosphere and food. Just popped in for a mid-week meal and my girlfriend and I were really disappointed in the food. The burger wasn't a patch on what it once was and my other half's fish cake was served on a the contents of a jar of cheap olives. What a shame...

My partner ordered the butternut squash pasta and it came out on a freezing cold plate, was cold within minutes and when I notified the staff of this they put it in the microwave.

I went to The Open House for the first time the other day, despite being an almost native Brightonian. I found a lovely atmosphere, great selection of drinks and lovely, chatty (the right amount) staff. I had a couple of pretty expensive beers but you can pretty much expect that from IPAs anywhere in our town. Open House, I'll be back!

I like this place lots, always vibrant with long faced hipster bar bods whom would seemingly rather be somewhere else, anywhere else than serve you a fruity pale ale, service with a sneer 😬😳 but if you can grin and bear that, the food, when it happens is tops and good value, although it does, feel somewhat of a lottery if you go for a roast as to weather it'll turn up or not, but yay if it does all is good with the world 👍🤓
