One of the best pubs in Brighton, the staff and clientele are lovely plus they've got a wonderful selection of teas if you don't fancy drinking. Sundays are especially nice between 6-8 when someone comes in to play the piano

Great pub!! As far as I'm aware this is still non-profit. They have great pizzas and a wide selection of reasonably priced drinks. The quiz is great fun! Once a year they have the best street party in town (normally May Day bank holiday). See you there!

I love this pub!! The staff are amazing, really friendly, and always happy to help loads of local knowledge.. We're were new to the area and they gave us loads of tips on where to go next.. The food is also lovely, pizzas cooked in a stone oven, lovely sausage rolls, and plenty of little bites to eat. But basically for me it all comes down to the staff, awesome. I'll be back..

Great, real, no-nonsense pub. Always good for a pint with friends, or possibly chatting to some randoms at the bar. Nice beer selection, some decent lagers and IPAs. The TVs do seem to be multiplying though.

Good beer and wine and very tasty pizzas. This is a nice, quiet pub, slightly tucked away but worth a visit. It's always clean and tidy, quick service and really comfortable chairs and sofas.

Cracking example of what a Community Pub can and should be. Well run, good staff and a nice cross section of beers and lagers available. Didn't try the food so can't comment, but the wine section was pretty good and whilst not cheap, I've seen far more expensive lists in lesser pubs. Well worth a visit.

Really nice, comfortable pub, great for hanging out with friends. I had a function here with over 40 people and had a lot of space (it was EXTREMELY hot though) but the staff were accommodating and friendly and it was all for an amazing cause as they donate their profits to charity. Amazing pub.

For me the best pub in Brighton. Drinking there since 1987; not quite continuously. Quite effortlessly all things to all people under present ownership. Nothing but praise. To make a small pub work in this day and age takes some thought and effort; and not a little talent.

I love this pub. It's small and cosy. The staff are so friendly and happy to help. They have board games to play. The decor is interesting. The food is good too. They even have sweets shots. Try the Werthers Original version, yummy.

It's an OK pub, but probably has more negatives than positives for me. The pub appears to be two rooms knocked together, with a bar counter straddling both, but the dividing wall comes very close to the bar. And that is where the cask pumps are. So if anyone sits there, it's really hard to see the pump clips. The place has a nice vibe, but it's also quite dingy. I found it hard to see while in there. A mostly trendy middle aged clientèle on our Sunday afternoon visit. They seem to have a problem with ventilation - when I went to close the door because my daughter and I were sitting in a draught, the barmaid insisted that, even though it was cold, the door should be kept open. We moved to a different table. The only food offered is pizza at £7.50, or some hot chilli olives. I like that they offer food, and I prefer that a place specialise in one thing which they can make quickly and easily rather than fail to offer anything because they expect to have to offer a full menu. So full credit for that. But the pizzas are small. And they can come burnt or underdone (we had both, because we ordered again, not realising how small they would be). Our barmaid was not very friendly or helpful. And there was a smell from the toilets. Plus points is that they sell Harveys Bitter, plus a guest beer. And they have a large selection of board games, and while they don't offer any food for children, they do allow children into the pub. The place is a mix of good and bad. It's not quite good enough for me to want to go back. But it's not quite bad enough for me to refuse to enter it if there is nothing else in the area.
