L. J. (.Remembrance Sunday visit
We visited for the second sitting for this fantastic event.
Firstly the pub looked stunning - no expense spared whilst remembering our heroes.
The food was outstanding, hats off to the chef it was probably the best roast I had eaten in a long time. The beef melted in your mouth and the vegetables were varied and perfectly cooked. All food was served hot and together ( we were a group of 8) which given the amount of people eating was a fantastic achievement.
The entertainment was superb and a very fitting tribute.
Lastly credit to the guys that run this place - to put on the type of events they do whilst continuing to maintain brilliant food and service levels is testament to how much thought, effort and hard work they must have to put in.

G. C.Really enjoyed our meal. I decided to have a starter with two sides for dinner, a bit random but I'm glad I did as it was tasty! Service was a bit slow and no one asked if we wanted more drinks or desert so a missed opportunity, but it was busy. The quiz was fantastic, really well run. We had a lovely evening, we will be back!
S.Had lunch here today. Excellent food, we had Bouillabaisse, Prawn and crab linguine and Lamb Shank, all dishes excellent. Cheesecake also excellent.
Much more than pub food, more restaurant. Really high quality. Service great. Wine lovely and well priced.

r. d.Sunday lunch at Rottingdean's Black Horse is a winner. The food was excellent, the portions generous, and the service outstanding. My elderly mother had difficulty cutting the (extremely tasty) leg of pork, and it was replaced without a murmur with a very good chicken pie. My wife ordered the bread and butter pudding. On finding that it contained bananas, which she's allergic to, an alternative was offered immediately. We said no, and I grew immeasurably fatter by eating half of her dessert, as well as my own delicious sticky toffee pudding.
Huge thanks to John, who looked after us so well, and to the waiting staff who were friendly and polite. I highly recommend a visit and, if they're on the menu, the roast beef and the lamb shank are well worth a try.

The food was fantastic (the tandoori burger is the best burger i have ever had) and the atmosphere was perfect. Finished off with a refreshing cold ale in the lovely garden. The decorations were astonishing! Dec also prepared a buffet fit for the queens we are, all our guests were very well fed. Was truly a wonderful night.
