Bocabar from the outside, you cannot figure out how big and amazing it is from the inside. For sure, it is a great surprise. This is the kind of place, you go and forget about weater, time, problems, and everything from the outside. Fair price (a bit expensive I must say) however, good service and perfect pizza indeed.

Place is very lovely and the atmosphere is nice! Our pizza were tasty, we ordered Desserts and the brownie was huge but really hard to finish (the texture was quite hard and filling). We felt service could have been more attentive and present. We visited on 10th June.

Bocabar is a great mix of cafe, bar and restaurant. The staff are always very friendly and the pizzas are particularly good. Would recommend trying the Jubel lager and the Calzone is excellent. Wait times can get a little long at busy periods, so leave yourself some time if you are seeing a show afterwards in the event space.

Never mind the luvvies, this place ain't bad at all... I'm not into characterising a place by the people that visit it, but Bocabar would be nicer if people like me didn't visit it. It's lovely inside with an acceptable range of (proper) beers, wines and spirits and the kitchen knocks out some pretty fine fare. More on that in a minute. What I'm not so comfortable with is the middle class clientele, who all seem a bit... well, smug. (I would add myself into this bracket out of objectivity). But my opinion regarding the clients should quite rightly have no bearing on the venue, so back to the review. Sunday roast x2, one beef, one pork belly and x2 enormous margerhita pizzas, one with an additional topping of pepperoni. Oddly, my 10 year old demolished his with gusto, whereas my food fussy 13 year old struggled with sheer capacity. Sadly, both pizzas were (very) oily, the pepperoni one even more so to the point of saturation on the underside of the base from the meat, pesto and good quality cheese. I'm being critical here: my youngest loved it. The roasts were undeniably good with an excellent side of glazed spring vegetables. Being critical, the beef was slightly dry. With the pork belly, all parts excellent save the beautifully crafted crackling, wound into flat rolls. These were pretty as decoration only as they weren't fresh, the oil having turned rancid. This was not a point of particular concern and did not warrant complaint, so, with objectivity in mind, it's not correct for me to report in this manner, rather than immediately to the kitchen. Here it is anyway. All in all, a great visit on a wet and windy Saturday and a great treat for a family of four indeed.

Not bad at all! Came here for lunch after hearing so many great things about the pizzas. Huge place with a chill atmosphere. Staff weren't that friendly but nothing to complain about. As a massive fan of pizzas, I can say they were good but had far too much oil and were slightly burnt. Still, I would definitely go back for another!

I Stumbled across this place by accident as the place we set out for was closed. Wasnt sure by outside appearance but as we had walked a distance we gave it a try. Wow. What a gem. Lovely atmosphere. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great craft beers and the pizzas! I travel all over country for work. These pizzas best ever. Cant recommend highly enough. Dont get to Bristol much. But next time I will go out of my way for this place. 5 stars not enough.

I fell in love with this place! I drive from Baht half hour to sit here and relax and do my work. The people who work here seem to actually love working there and they are all so friendly! Food is amazing!!! Chicken Wrap, Sausage sandwich, fish stew (I didn't try the original fish stew, I hope I would. They changed menu before I could try this fish stew )))) I tried the replacement moules creamy stew with fishcake, honestly food is amazing! but the best part of this place is the happy people around you, everyone is so relaxed and enjoying their times, a lot of moms with babies and never that noisy, just a great vibe! I would be making half hour trips to sit in this atmosphere! Love it!

A very average experience I’m afraid. Nice, friendly customer service but the food is really over priced for what it is and the breakfast portions are really small unless you want to pay extra for it. Won’t be going back in a hurray. Lots of nice plants available to buy from Old Market Plants though which is a nice aditikn.

This place has a such a great vibe. Each time i have been here the staff have been super friendly and accomodating. They had a good selection of Alcohol Free beers which is great rather than a token effort. Beware they are big portions (Chips and Dips). The Pizza's are absolutely delicious! I can see Bocaba being a regular hang out and some where I can take my laptop at times to work. Recommend.

I couldn't make a decision as to whether this should be one star or three. If we never had such a bad experience while we had guests visiting from overseas it would have been a 5.. The food is amazing! Every time I've eaten there its been great. But a few weeks back we had actually gone to sit down for a breakfast there and the service from our waitress was outright disgusting, she had a real bad attitude, she forgot our condiments, I had to get up and ask for stuff 3 times, when she came to our table each time she'd roll her eyes, she literally sat talking to another waiter while our food was ready and she then brought it luke warm after her nice little chat, and this was only the beginning! There were so much more issues. she has literally put me off of Bocabar. We ordered food for take away from there every weekend, now I get angry just thinking about the place, I love the food but I can't even be bothered to make a phone call to the place, that's how bad this one waitress made our experience and the problem is it was our first time dining in there, and first impressions last, I really hope they either re train her of fire her. One thing is for sure is that her attitude has to go.

Met up with friends at Bocabar. Plenty of space for social distancing. Nice choice of lunchtime meals at a range of prices. Good service - prompt, but not overbearing. Meals were on the large side, however as they were mostly salads, this was fine. Only downsides were the huge number of croutons in the tuna salad and the WCs could have done with a more regular check for hygiene.

Been a while to have visited the Paintworks site, a long time actually. But when I was done exploring I needed to have a lengthy rest, for I have mobility issues. Some of the zones are still under construction, whilst flats have shot up along the water's edge. Anyways . . thirsty & hungry I found the delightful Bocabar . . A perfect local establishment serving cool American Pale Ale & Gert Lush Pizza. Staff we're awesome, provided an exemplary service and importantly in a Covid safe environment. Highly recommended.

Quick pint and superb pizza

The food is always delicious, the pizzas are outstanding. What prompted me to write this review though is the recent service we had from the staff. We booked an outside table some weeks ago but when we arrived it was still too hot for the kids outside. Despite the covid 19 restrictions, staff were really flexible and found us a space inside. They didn't even blink when it meant they had to change our bill because of the whole 'eat out to help out' discount. We were really grateful and impressed.

Loved the bar! Came there for a lunch with a girlfriend and we really had a lovely time there!! I really did the casual, rugged, cool vibe going on, with the sofas and the small but sweet little outdoor space! We had our lunch outside to catch some sun, and the service, mainly from the two guys who served us today, were very very sweet and kind! Like one of them was very sweet and professional!! Pizzas and the wine were lovely. Good selection to choose from (so many pizzas I wanted to try, and that's coming from someone who is a bit 'meh' on pizzas!) So I definitely would be coming back!

Been in twice recently, first for brunch then back for Sunday roast... Great venue, industrial / vintage with plenty abstract art kicking about. Fabulous service and super friendly staff. Awesome food, quality without compromise, decent portions well presented and cooked perfectly, all set in a unique and spacious relaxed environment. Covid safe, reasonably priced and top notch.

Hey, we love Bocabar. Discovered it after lockdown #3 and it has become a regular haunt for us now. Staff are pleasant and very attentive and food and drink really good. It's nice to sit outside day on a sunny day and when you're inside it's full of character and makes for a pleasing setting. Go on give it a try.

Really like this venue, full of good things that are delicious, its comfortable and laid back. Coffee is excellent food is great, staff are friendly and nothing is a problem, however difficult we can be. Google asks all of us critics to.... Expand on our reviews to give a better idea about a venue to new potential customers so they can decide whether to visit or not..... To offer a review of our experiences In order that foodies will get a better idea of what establishments are really about once the bulls**t is removed, and the people decide for themselves.. ok... here goes.. "Coffee is excellent food is great, staff are friendly and nothing is a problem, however difficult we customers can be..." What more can be said other than Do go see for yourself and write your own review. You will not be disappointed.. Incidentally , This is the only venue in this region of UK that we have ever given a 5 star rating too, and we travel Europe (Check out our EU reviews) . Thank you Bocabar. Will be back soon.

Lively atmosphere, reasonably fast service. Although they missed 2 desserts of the order. The downside? Cold plates meant cold food and rock hard roast potatoes. A complaint made at the time resulted in a not insignificant reduction of the bill, we were a party of 12 and we weren't charged for any drinks. Hopefully if we go again food will be piping hot and then it will be a 5 star review

Darn good pizzas. They aren't typically "authentic", and there are a few extra ingredients and perhaps the odd twist on those well known traditional pizza names. But hey, why not? Spacious and casual, family friendly bar-restaurant. Large, varied, locally-sourced food menu with a number of inventive combinations! I had gnocchi with beetroot which was delicious and filling. Fresh pizzas with tons of options, and kids menu available. Live music schedule on the website and you can book a table really there too. Parking can be difficult, but I've always managed to find a space.

Lovely afternoon spent eating and drinking in Bocabar's outside space. Glorious sunshine was a bonus. Staff brilliantly attentive. Had a vegan burger - pure witchcraft! Paprika fries majorly yummy. Once we had got our heads around downloading a code reader that we needed to order our food with. I really enjoyed my Ipenema pizza, prosecco cocktail and shared dips+chips and olives with my husband and a couple of friends. Great food and speedy service too. The spacious environment feels safe and l observed thorough cleaning of tables, chairs, menus with sanitiser after customers had left. Thank you for a lovely, relaxing evening.

Amazing pizza as ever. Please remember to take some cash so you can leave a tip. They've moved to online ordering at the table and a cash tip is the only option. The staff are still working just as hard and in challenging conditions so please show them your appreciation.

Excellent food, especially the pizzas. Great beer selection too and far better than you see in most pubs. Many of the pubs in St Anne's and Brislington are a bit rough so we're lucky to have this place just on the Bath Road.

Really great pizza, absolutely full of inner city trendies looking for a contemporary experience (strokes whiskers). The staff are pretty decent chatty and friendly. Odd choice of drinks, many ales and other edgy tipples not so much your usual pint, hit and miss I found. Have been several times, I like the chilled atmosphere but i sense the management or owners are a tad eccentric as it comes through in the business. Swear i saw Noel Edmonds one time. didn't have the bottle to ask him for an autograph. I will be back but just for the pizza, quite days are nice but it does get busy with all the trendies no offence just some of us like a bit of hush from time to time, this is not the place for that. Will give an extra star or two is the menu gets updated and volume levels relaxed.

Bocabar is great for families, groups of friends, or couples. Went for pizza which was huge and cooked perfectly. Very reasonably priced, huge selection of vegetarian food, with allergens well displayed, and a good atmosphere. Only negative I would say is that the drinks are quite expensive in proportion to the food, and the wicker chairs are slightly unstable. Other than that, a great place to go and I'll definitely be back.

The only thing stopping me giving this place Five stars is that I can't bring the dog. Great selection of beers there's usually something new from local breweries. The Pizza is top notch if a little over priced in my opinion. The little terrace on the side is perfect for watching the sun go down with a pint.

The Bocabar do amazing chips!!! Their food is delicious but the prices can be a little expensive, though if you are from somewhere like Bath or London then the prices are actually cheap. The food takes a while to arrive but it is high quality food. I would recommend you go there in the summer, that way you can sit out on the balcony with a nice cool drink and some chips or a cool dessert. The atmosphere in the summer really makes it feel like the Caribbean and it is the perfect place to meet friends on a warm summers eve. :)

Expensive. Went for a late lunch when it wasn't busy and the waitress forgot to make my food. Only established that once I went to the bar after having waited for some time for it to arrive. She said it'd be ready right away. She proceeded to very slowly prepare the caesar salad while chatting with a colleague. Caesar salad was over dressed and served on a plate. The chicken was over smoked. Had pizza another time when busier and it arrived quickly. Decent pizza but nothing special I felt, and costs around £15. Decent drinks selection but continental beers are expensive. Cheaper to drink wine here. It has a nice atmosphere but I fear it's style over substance; pretentious perhaps, with a price to match.

Always incredibly busy so often difficult to find a table/seat (we have walked in and straight back out on multiple occasions). Due to the large number of people it's quite a loud and lively place (which is necessarily a bad thing). Food and drinks can be quite expensive depending on what you are after. A lunchtime sandwich and a drink would be about £10 pp min and the main lunchtime meals are in line with evening prices elsewhere.

Hmmm - I'm a bit of a wino - by that I mean I really appreciate a glass of excellent wine well served (I've got a fair bit of wine in my, cellar I should add). I really like the Bocabar's slightly boho atmosphere with its vaguely warehouse feel, and arty creative clientele. However, I'm afraid I can't be as complimentary about the wine. To elaborate, I paid £6.50 for what was a very mediocre Carrignan from Chile - it was served about 25 deg C, and really was not that great. I pointed out to the gent who served me that it was far too warm, and he looked at me blankly, and said "yes but it's red wine". For the record, red wine should be drunk at about 18 deg - it tastes rather disgusting when its too warm. Apart from that, I love the place. Perhaps next time I should drink white (which whilst it is often over chilled, will at least warm up. I love the food there - well the veggie stuff, I've had there has always been nice.

Being a repeat customer, the Boco Bar is generally one of our favorite places to eat, the food standards however vary with whos cooking, sometimes at peak time service is VERY slow, which is understandable with the cooking facilities they have. Choices of pizza are varied with specials coming on monthly. It is a little pricey, however we have never had a bad meal. Also at certain times the bar does become a mother and toddler Crèche.
