Awesome array of ciders for £3, which is great on a student budget. Great pool tables and dart boards to choose from (the dart boards are old and have a lot of wear and tear to them but you don't notice once you've had a couple of good pints) and over 20 ciders to choose from with other drinks as well. I regret not going to check it out sooner.

What can I say if you are after a great VALUE bottomless brunch this is the place to go! You had to pay extra for certain tastes or to go “premium”. But what I would say is it was totally worth it, the quality of drinks and food made the extras worth while and made the experience the best bottomless I’ve had.The staff are absolutely great and are very accommodating of all your needs! You will be spoiled for choice in both food choices and cocktails! Give it a try you won’t regret it ! 👏

It was good fun, we went for the quiz. We ordered food which came fairly quickly and tasted good but the tables were very sticky and despite my friend mentioning it to a member of staff nothing was done. The quiz was fab though, done through an app so your points are tallied straight away and answers shown right after time is up

Me and friend's went to the cider press for a bottomless brunch. The staff were very attentive and following up on all our wants and needs. The manager on shift Charlie was brilliant and even after we finished our bottomless he still reserved a table for us to watch the afternoon football! Bottomless brunch - not stingy, good food and great service. I was a bit apprehensive doing bottomless brunch at a pub but I was blown away by the attentiveness of staff. Interesting visit! No real ale available so had Peroni instead. Food was good and had excellent view of screen for the footy. Only downside was screaming kids running round the pub with no intervention from parents.

Brilliant cider at a lush price. Staff were lovely. Smoking area about back is a bit grim. Still works. The interior is lovely and it’s a great place to watch sports with TVs on both sides of the room which means no craning necks. Top notch. Get the pizza cone!!!!

Great Bar! If you are looking for a sports bar look no further than this place! Multiple screens for all the games or sporting events. Plus the games tables around the back are a great source of amusement. The unexpected turn was the live music! We were there for a band that were fantastic. A final note, The Cider Press lives up to its name with its great craft ciders.

Nice pub with a good selection of beers and food. Dog friendly and lovely staff. The only reason I score 3 stars is the lack of bar staff and waiting staff working on all the weekends I have been there. You can easily wait for more than 10 minutes at the bar for a drink. It is not the fault of the staff who are lovely; it's just the lack or them working at any one time!

Great pub with a good atmosphere in the heart of Gloucester Road. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, the service is always excellent. The drinks are well priced and the food tasty. They show most sporting events which is great and sometimes have live music!

To be honest I visited this place while out on a long awaited bar crawl with the lads so I wasn't really in the reviewing state. What I do recall from it clearly were the poorly looked after toilet facilities which were dirty and didn't smell pleasant. Also there were a few groups of lads in there in a much worse state than ours still being served while in a bad way so the atmosphere was a bit tense. We stayed for one and moved on quickly. 3 stars for price and speed served quickly and for Gloucester road it's reasonably priced

*Edit* Owner got in touch and promised to improve the points I mentioned, so I will definitely be visiting in the future and will update my score accordingly. Original Review Went for the superbowl. They were out of all sharing platters and 8 of the on tap ciders before kick off. Not particularly impressed by the lack of preparation and stock checks before a big event that took bookings. Pizza was also disappointing and seemed more like a flat bread, not much bite, even on the crust.

Loved it, amazing coders that really don't taste like cider, helpful staff, great atmosphere and band that was awesome too. One thing I'll note is just how friendly and nice the bouncers were, really set the atmosphere and people responded well to them. Overall would definitely recommend if like me you were in Bristol for one night only

Myself and my partner had the the best pizza ever. The service was exceptional. Really genuine and friendly guy behind the bar who served us and bought us our food. Great for watching TV sport this down to earth unpretentious pub caters for the large student population, but attracts people of all ages. Great place to go as part of a group. Opens all day for pub food and has the occassional live music. Going to watch the sport here is great due to the amount of tellys they have including a big screen.

Very much a sports pub. Good selection of cider. Always really busy on sports days but it has lots of room. Loads of fruit machines, no quiz. It feels a bit rough though and certainly not somewhere to just go on your own and have a beer.

This is a great place to go for a mid-week drink. Has a diverse mix of people in here, it's also at a great location on Gloucester road, popular with students. Drinks are reasonably priced and there is a large choice, even cocktails etc with deals. Interior is nice, with pool table/air hockey games at the back and a rear smoking area.

Great choice of ciders but most weren't connected to the bar so they had to disappear for 5 mins when taking your order. I asked if they had the sprinkler for the ale pumps and they told me that the particular one it was off. This happened twice

Good food as well Watch the bar staff one just tried to blatantly rip me off. Got a beer payed the Monday price of £2.50, went for a wee. On returning to the bar barman asked for £3.80. I asked why and he claimed I hadn't payed for my drink. I pointed out to him I had payed also that as it was Monday he was also overcharging me. IMade a dumb excuse and backed down. Saw him overcharging another customer as well

This pub has developed a good range of ciders. Several Somerset artisan brews are available and there are sample glasses (about two thimbles-worth) for you to discover which of them are drinkable (and most are but a couple are rather strong). Still a little of a student venue but not too much for it to exclude those who haven't been a student for a long time. Plenty of comfy sofas.

Formerly the Rising Sun, the Cider Press still retains much of the feel (+drinks and menu) of a scream pub. Think of it as a Wetherspoons that shows the football. What you would expect really, the food is good value but I would avoid unless you want to keep it cheap. Seems to have door staff more often than not, which tells you everything you need to know really.

Recently moved near here and although it does well priced drinks and food (which are both delicious) there is one prominent issue. The first time we went we ordered food around 7:45pm. On the website and around the establishment they advertise that food is served to 9pm. At 8:20pm we ordered dessert and the bartender rudely sighed and looked really annoyed that we had ordered some food. Then she said we would be the last order. The next time I visited I made sure to get their earlier at 7:30 to order the same thing because it was very delicious. I went straight to the bar to order food and got told the kitchen was closed even though the place was quite busy. I felt the vibe that the kitchen was wanting to close as early as they can, and pressured the bar staff to enforce this to customers. Please change your practices or the time you advertise you serve food till. But once again great vibes, great food and drinks and great prices.

Nice pub. Two pool tables. Range of ciders and prices reasonable for Gloucester Road. Food was 50+ minutes due to an oven "explosion", though staff communicated with my party around this. Would return for drinks.
