What a lovely place to have a meal and see a friend. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Mel was fantastic, made our meal time very special. She goes an extra mile for customers. Huge portions at great prices. The restaurant is very spacious and amazing place for either a family or to meet a friend. We had a wonderful time and took some food with us home too as the portions were more than generous.

Had a great meal this evening. Bacon burger and chips! Was delicious. Friendly staff and didn't have to wait long for our food. We'd actually been to a well known restaurant at The Venue earlier on, waited an hour for food which was then served cold so we sent it back and left really disappointed but happiness was soon restored at the lovely Henbury Arms big high 5 to the staff and chef for top service and great food at a very reasonable price. 😊

My daughter has just had a birthday pizza party here and it was amazing. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. George was brilliant with the children and lead the party excellently. Would thoroughly recommend for children's party great food great host and value for money. Thank you.

We come fairly regularly here and have done for a few years now. The place is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The pizzas are lovely and the pricing is fair. But I do have a couple of suggestions, which I feel may have improved our last few visits: Bring back the buzzers you used to get when placing a food order so you can go and collect it yourself when it is ready. That way it saves your staff the job and also I don’t sit there looking at my food under a heat lamp waiting for it to be served to me cold as I am told I cannot pick it up myself. (Even though I am sat 6 foot away from it and I paid for it) Also, you used to include ‘help yourself’ chips with almost every main or pizza. I found this great, but since covid, it has disappeared off the menu adverts and now have to pay for chips.

Food is great. Staff are brilliant and friendly. Paige especially went above and beyond for our family and gave us high chairs for our young children. And even gave them some colouring and sat down and interacted with them. Will definitely be going again

Loads of parking. Food was excellent. Staff were helpful. And so to were the customers. Who pointed out the menu option. Any 3 courses/plates for £9.99 or there's a 5 plate option, 2 plate and I can't remember the prices. But they struck me as good. The food arrived (the clucking burger, a chicken burger like no other, grilled chicken breast stacked with bacon, cheese and a breaded KFC chicken breast and hash brown, onion rings in a bun comes with side of chips) and it was plentiful it was all I could eat..... And I can eat a fair amount!, but there's no way I could do 3 courses. Want to go back and try the desserts.

The staff were friendly, it wasn't to busy so didn't have to wait for service. I had the carvery which I wasn't impressed with, the beef was tough so I couldn't eat it 😔 but the turkey was nice, the veg was Luke warm, roast potatoes were a bit dry/hard from being in the warming tray too long, and the gravy was all thick and lumpy again for being kept too long in the warming tray. I have enjoyed my past carvery here but unfortunately this time I was very disappointed.

Food has improved, service not great. No side plates were offered. It is all you can eat breakfast, only given one plate. You have to make your own toast! You need a side plate for toast, so I used a napkin. Does have a carpark

Staff were great, unfortunately the food wasn't, very limited menu we arrived at 730 and told we have 20 min left to order. But only burgers and pizza left. Tbf the food wasn't bad apart from a few missing ingredients, just wished we knew they had nothing left when we booked the table an hour or so before. Ordered a desert for everyone, again was nice apart from the small amount of plastic that found its way into the desert. Accidents happen but when we mentioned the answer was I made that desert and I didn't see it go in. And you should have mentioned the missing bits from the burger earlier, not really the response you would expect a sorry might have helped but they did refund 1 of the deserts. I did give the cash back to the staff as most if not all were great, its not there fault they had nothing left. Its wasn't about the money either. I was more annoyed that it was made out like it was made up. The pub seems nice, lovely chilled atmosphere and I'm sure when they have a full menu it would have been a better experience, will try again and update review, Update, Second trip to the henbury Arms, much more on the menu as always staff were great, overall a much better experience

Oh my, went here on wednesday with the kids and had a really nice time, getting out for once was nice, we had this lady called Mel i think - with the colourful nametag - help fully with everything. She was extremely nice to my children and made them feel themselves. Would 100% coming here again and if you feel like going ask for Mel!!

Five stars based on value for money and friendliness of staff. We managed to feed five of us for around £27 (mains/carvery), then after that added on a £1.99 desert from a set list. This included bottomless ice cream which was great, I did mine with lemon sauce and lots of meringues

We come here about 6 times a year, the quality varies, the time the food takes can be awful sometimes. It's just luck it seems. Deserves a 3 star rating, it's rarely terrible, but rarely great.

This used to be a Toby Carvery when the meals were poor. It's now changed hands and although the emphasis seems to be on pizzas the carvery we had was very good with generous portions and reasonable prices.

I am very busy just now, but I felt that I must write now as I feel very much thst this is a very very good find for me. And for others too I reckon. 5 stars no doubt. And I would like to question as other businesses get and one wonders why so, the negative or very negative reviews of here of late, given...?? I am not sure if one or another visited here or they are confusing it with another place....??? - I believe each of must acknowledge that to over negatively review any business online can end up in being very serious matter. There are laws of the land there for us all, and eg of slander etc ... in the extreme cases, where the motive has been wrong or careless could not care ways publish. And we need to take good care so. *** We are dealing with folks livelihoods!! and keeping a job and income *** .... and I am not sure what one or other reckons will be a good carvery as not here then. I have had the carvery here three times over the last 3 weeks and will be coming back and back, as things stand. To speak of the meat so! Heve no idea what world that is in of meat quality. Might not be the Ritz but !?!? ... Maybe she herself wants to be a vegan, as others do and simply muck meat serving ???.... Others of us believe that caring for animals the best we must is totally the so case. Battery chickens etc horrid stuff no. But we, many of us, do not think to take it further as one kills countless microbes with every step one takes, as it is this world as it is. Caring for each one can as long as one lives the way and give all animals a very good best of lives too. ... I am only wondering since my beef and gammon have been a very! tasty nice meat, I reckon and not poor at all. £5 for a small carvery every day of the week. From 12 midday. And as for comments about the staff: not sure what that is about . I have told all my friends locally here how good I think this place is, here where my family goes back 3 generations and one seeks to kindly CARE well for all one's neighbours, and be helpful for good business the same and eg as to what a pleasant no fuss staff here one has found. And a good team work way too, one thinks so also. When it's very busy they might maybe struggle more a bit now. But good patience now at this most awkward period in history years our generation has known, is needed. - They might think to give the option to give one's carvery meal a quick microwave blast, if one wants this, if one is concerned about one's food not being hot towards piping. But this is not an easy matter in today's world when folk will make issue about eating food too hot or folk have some hyper sensitive condition threats, in their throat or mouth. 5 stars Henbury Arms (as is called today, was times past The Salutation Inn) and for to Stonehouse company overseeing here, - thanks !!! very much. For good/ very good food, friendly and helpful service and very nice simple no fuss, very pleasant ambience. And all. And let's hope for more of the same, yes! As we each seek to get better too and persevere!! through tough days, at all as are so. Many thanks! to all here doing their working best, in very tough days early 2022. A great new find for me. Thank you very much .

I decided to try the Henbury Arms Sunday carvery whilst in the area. The food was excellent value and also generously sized. For a small amount extra, you can upgrade to a large carvery for extra meat and a large Yorkshire pudding. Definitely a good option for the hungrier eaters! The starters and desserts are also enjoyable, including nachos to share and bottomless refillable ice cream. Good service, value and quality from a reliable chain!

Haven't been in for years, only stopped for a pint mid afternoon. Polite staff and nice pint of Guinness in comfortable surroundings. Not much has changed. It's a carvery and was popular back in the day but mediocre in my opinion then. I have got really fussy regarding food in my old age and seldom rate restaurants and take away food highly these days so I can't say anything useful in that department.

The bar girls were absolutely shattered so you guys need to start looking after your staff members.. the food was quite nice but had to wait a long time for other party members to get there food. The adult food come before the kids food? Which personally to me should be the other way round. Social distanced very well and staff were friendly but shattered.

Went to this lovely establishment with my family for an anniversary. As a healthcare assistant I was worried about whether the pub would be keeping up with health standards during this pandemic. Very happy to say that the lovely man on the door eased my concerns right away - introduced himself as Callum, very friendly and polite, he talked me through the procedures in place. Very professional. Lovely to feel like you're welcome! And the food was lovely! Would definitely recommend going here if you're looking for somewhere with great food and is on top with their standards. 10/10

First visit here and it was amazing! The decor was very nice and up to date. Seats were super comfy. Really lovely atmosphere. Staff were super friendly and very helpful. It wasn't too busy, and they had good social distancing measures in place. The food was stunning. I had the full works carvery and everything was very tasty and well cooked. They have a good range of food ont he menu and it is very reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again. :)

There was a weird situation whereby the chef(oldish guy) came over and started accusing us of not paying for our 'pigs in blankets' the bar staff came over and defended us, and said we had but the chef was having none of it. I think he was slightly loopy and having a bad day? Why would he have given them to us if we didn't give him a slip saying we had paid for them 😂 we have the recept covering the cost etc... Yet he insisted we didn't pay.. (was actually quite embarrosing and will stop us from returning) Either way you should probably educate him on the best way of approaching customers, especially when they have no idea what he is going on about 😳

But don't understand why the mushrooms have to be ordered separately. Ours arrived half way through our meal and we had forgotten we had ordered them. It's ok but you have to pay at the bar before picking up your meal from the carvery then pay again at the bar if you want a sweet. It's always a bit of a pain to have to queue to pay for each course. The food is usually good though and you can choose to have something that isn't from the carvery, although that can take a little longer.

The food was excellent here with generous portions at reasonable prices. What let it down, and the reason I don't give 5 stars, was the lack of attention by the staff. After ordering a drink, I paid and the server walked away to serve someone else without handing over the drink, and on collecting the carvery, the server did not pay attention to what I'd ordered and gave me the wrong thing. However, it wouldn't put me off coming again.

The location is a little bit obscure but it is well worth a visit . The staff are super friendly and helpful the menu has a reasonable selection and of course the building is definitely wheel chair friendly . This is our closest Stonehouse, and having had great experiences at our previous local (The Mason's Arms, Rudgeway) we gave this a try, having visited in the past when it was a Toby. Both the breakfast buffet and the carvery are good; food is usually fresh and is kept warm, quality is decent, and there is plenty of options. Carvery deck staff can sometimes lack the customer service edge, but not so much as to dissuade you from returning. Choice of drinks behind the bat is equally good. I do, however, 2ish they didn't price gouge on Sundays for what is the same experience.

I had the pleasure of dealing with Ben, the young asistant manager at this pub as we wanted to book a private room for a function. The experience was exceptional. We paid a 50% deposit for food ordered, and drinks and any balance was settled after. On the day, Sue (the manager) was most accomodating in every aspect. The buffet options were very reasonably priced and certainly tasty. We have been here a few times but clearly the re decorate has still been in keeping with its farmhouse style but with much nicer staff. This is a Toby Carvery and the chef was extremely pleasent and helpfull, (not your usuall production line zombie) on thr menu as well as the usuall was beef dripping roast potatoes which were to die for. The criticisms on the food was stuffing was a little dry but the rest delicious. We had a table next to a paystation which turned out to be the best position ever as had the friendliest server. (Possibly felt as awkward as we felt at first while eating) but nothing that could be further from the truth this added to pleasent experience and it was a very busy night (Thanksgiving) and we was very pleased. Always great food and in a nice area... but on more than one occasion we have turned up and been told the kitchen is now closed although on all occasions it has been atleast an hour before the time stated on the door and online, on at least 2 occasions staff have claimed not to have known there are 'serving to' times on the door and are very vague about the time the kitchen closed. This is quite annoying as it is a little out of the way and takes about half an hour to get to just to then have to go and find somwhere else or return home.

The food at the Henbury Arms can be very hit and miss, sometimes good othertimes awful it seems to very much depends on the time of day and how long food has been hanging around. But on the other hand it is reasonably priced. The staff are usually very good and friendly. The drinks are very reasonable and they usually offer a couple of well kept real ales on. They routinely have Butcombe and Doombar. It is a good place to sit outside on a nice day.

It has morphed from a traditional old pub, The Salutation , before becoming a pub and carvery in 1999 to it's present day Stonehouse. It's always a pleasure to stop off en route to various destinations here as it is perfectly situated for easy access to the Portway, the Cribbs Causeway retail parks and Bristol city centre in a relaxed suburban setting.
