Reviews of Inn on the Green
R. T.
Great pub for food. All table service, food came very quickly and great selection of real ales. Will definitely visit again. Picture is of ham, egg and chips with a side of halloumi fries. Yum
s. h.
I've had Sunday lunch here twice now and it's absolutely awesome except for the Yorkshire puddings which are always burnt! No one on our table (3 of whom are chefs) could eat theirs because they were so dry and I noticed other tables were leaving theirs too. Apart from that, great meal
K. K.
A fantastic pub in the southmead area with a great selection of beer. My favourite "Independence" from Bristol beer factory is served here.
It has a relaxed atmosphere, and a huge space with a great parking. There are two gardens, with nice sitting. Expect a typical pub food, served hot.
K. W.
Well presented and flavoursome food.
Staff could be more engaging but were attentive and polite.
Well worth popping in for food 🙂
S. T.
Good pub, great food. The meat is cooked to perfection!! The garden is a nice spacious area to sit it if the sun's out and has a convenient car park out the back. If I had to pick at anything it would be the lack of locally sourced juicy strong IPA's that would absolutely be the icing on the cake.
M.
Love this place! I have been fortunate enough to call this pub my local for several years now and it never fails to please!
The staff are really friendly, the food is excellent and they even have darts, pub quiz every Sunday and a wicked front and rear beer garden.
G. S.
Visited here today for lunch with a friend. Greeted with a very warm welcome. Sat outside in comfortable surroundings. Food was excellent and looked after by Jordan who is most definitely an ambassador for the pub. Will most certainly be back. Well done 👏
l. w.
Really great pub. Lovely fire. Good selection of beers, quirky fittings, bar billiards. We didn’t eat, so can’t comment on the food.
The landlord’s table thing was slightly bizarre…
K. B.
Really nice pub, good quality drinks such as Lagunitas and Blue Moon on tap. Really friendly staff and reasonably late call for last orders. Plus it’s a lovely pub with nice interior and friendly punters. Ticks literally every box really impressed!
e. p.
amazing service. very attentive. all food looked amazing and tasted absolutely gorgeous! loved every mouthful. 100/10 will deffo be back here again !! thank you so much to all the staff here finally a decent pub with decent food !!!😁👍
d. m.
Lovely staff, food was beautiful and they have a good list of drinks.
Plus side, the pub garden is kept very clean and the flowers look healthy.
S. N.
Great lunch menu. Our party chose smoked haddock kedgeree x2 , chicken and chorizo linguine and an avocado and tomato baguette with spinach and pine nuts. A beef burger chips and salad. So no photos food was so delightful that it was gone before I had a chance to take any! Great atmosphere, enhanced by the roaring fire and great service. Local ales and ciders as well as the usual G&T .
D. P.
My favourite pub, really good food and amazing beer selection
A. W.
We just had a very delicious lunch in what maybe the most delightfully florally decorated Pub Garden I have been to this summer. Food and Service were also excellent but full marks to the Gardener.
A. R.
Very friendly staff and yummy food. It took a little longer than expected to come out but we weren’t in a rush so it was no bother. Happily accommodated food adjustments too. Would go back.
L.
Excellent location staff are polite, helpful, and check in with you frequently. Cleaned thoroughly and a wide variety of drinks and food, as well as a pleasant vibe. Lovely outside area for the sunshine days too!
H. L.
I’m guessing the food is really good, due to it costing around £20 a meal which is expensive, I just got a kids size fish and chips due to the price and it wasn’t special. So I presume the adult size dishes are special as the environment is in need of a refurb and upgrade. The beer garden is nice, moved there as inside did not feel good. Eating of what feels like school tables. I can’t say I would recommend this place due to the expensive price (these are the words of someone who often goes to The Ivy at Bath). I know what good quality is and for the price they charge, this isn’t good enough in my opinion and highly doubt I would return until they have a refurb. Part of a price that high, is for the environment. So if the environment needs a refurb, it feels too much like being short changed.
R. K.
The food and service here was brilliant. Menu had a good choice and had a few veggie/vegan options.
The service was excellent, drinks were great, the food tasted amazing and the portions were big!
E. S.
Absolutely amazing food, the Sunday lunch is definately worth the money! Good selection of alcohol, as well as non alcoholic drinks. Our server Mikey was wonderfully amazing! Definately took care of us as we were in a bit of a food coma after finishing our meal. Will definately be going again once I've digested this. Side note they are dog friendly with our furry friends being allowed inside out of the sun.
M. H.
Great pub, with a good range of beers including real ales.
Food is good too 😀
B.
Good bar, friendly staff.
The selection of whiskey and ale is extensive.
Sunday roast is a banger
J. H.
Very good food and reasonable prices. Quick friendly service with a country pub feel in the city! Great location for visiting Bristol on the way home or cribbs causeway. Well planned during COVID-19 times. Nice outside seating area and good choice of beers. Steak deal on a Monday is great value!
R. C.
Whenever I'm in the area I seek out the IOTG. It's great it's dog friendly. When I arrived on this occasion it was in the peek of Christmas Office party season and was packed. Even so the service was excellent and I didn't have a long wait for food. Good choice of food and beer at fair prices. A local gem with a welcoming atmosphere.
B. H. D.
Great food on a Sunday. The roast is second to none. This is my second visit for a roast.
I’m usually here for the annual beer festival, that does not disappoint. Recommended for everything pub wise.
BHD badass stamp of approval!
Edit: lost one star for messing up the dessert order 🤦🏾♂️
M. N.
Food was absolutely incredible and the staff were lovely. Can't wait to come back!
C. G.
Happy Third visit. This time for Eat out to help Out 50% discount deal. Covid compliant. Amazing food, warm welcome, excellent service. Highly recommend.
S. V.
Amazing place, I cannot fault it. Staff were great, friendly and so helpful, the rear garden is a great place to spend time, relax, drink and eat, and above all, their Sunday roasts are epic!
K. R.
Really friendly staff. We went to the comedy night which was fantasticly silly, and free! Had a wicked night out here.
G.
Nice and friendly pub. Good amount of seating inside and outside.
Dogs are allowed outside in the garden, a lovely quirky beer pump with water to fill dog bowls.
Garden is lovely, with lots of flowers and large tables.
Staff were friendly. Table service is here for social distancing.
K. R.
We called up specifically to ask if the kitchen was open as I was on my 1 hour lunch break. We were told yes it’s open till 5pm and there was no need to book. We then drove 15 minutes to the pub to be told by a different employee that the kitchen closed at 4pm. If we’d been able to book we could’ve been contacted about the change but the lady on the phone said no need to book. Poor management and hungry customers. We were a fan of your pub but won’t be returning any time soon.
T. C.
Fantastic food and really great service. Highly recommend this venue. Also great choice of beverages.
J. R.
Went there for an early December Christmas dinner with a big group of friends. Mains and desserts were good. Service was good too.
K. B.
We had dinner in the private room upstairs. Staff were attentive and friendly and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend
A. F.
Warming atmosphere. Serving varied brews and a small but enjoyable menu. Really top-notch roasts as well!
R. H.
So yesterday Googled nearest dog friendly pub with vegan menu when visiting family in Bristol and discovered this place - we hadn’t booked and although they were expecting a large party the managed to squeeze us in. Table service was excellent - food was delicious and large portions served - staff very friendly and attentive. With our requirements we thought we’d struggle so this is a fab find and highly recommend
K.
Excellent pub run by great people that is dog friendly. The food served is cooked well and is seasonal, the Sunday roasts are excellent. When the weather is good, they got a nice outdoor area.
V. R.
Excellent customer service! Cannot fault the bar staff. Food expensive so only had a "small plate"
D.
Great selection of beers and ciders. Lunch was awesome and staff really pleasant.
N. N.
Very cozy bar with lots of seating. Huge selection of beers! Food was good. Worth a visit! A+++!
P. C.
Food slow although it was good. Very noisy & rowdy people in eating area which staff did not deal with
M. R.
Just had food at the Inn on the Green. Tasty food and a good lunchtime deal of a meal and a soft drink for £8. It was a large portion too. I had chicken, chorizo and leek pie with chips. Had half a pint of Thatchers Haze too. Good pub food snd friendly staff. It was very quiet here at lunchtime and there is free car parking and outdoor seating and pool.
A. F. T.
Perfect place to chill out after a working day. Friendly well coming staff and great food and drinks. My first time there, but I'm sure I'll become a regular...
C. G.
We did not book ahead of arrival. We gave no notice and they very kindly found us a table. They have been very busy since being allowed to open up their garden to customers so this was much appreciated. The service was great from all staff and the Sunday roast was AMAZING! Food was hot, fresh and cooked and served well and we really enjoyed it. It was a huge portion too (just had to finish it because it was so nice). We left full and happy.
It was also warm under the giant gazebo they have put up in the car park and it is all cozy and pretty inside too.
Will definitely be back for food again. 👍😊
M. E.
Lovely place! Really nice indoor area by the bar and 2 cracking pub gardens, the larger garden having heated undercover seating for the chillier nights! Very friendly staff and really good food, would recommend the nachos!
A.
Excellent food, atmosphere and staff. One of my favourites, constantly high standard of food and ßervice thank you. Also dog friendly.
S. P.
Great location and food! The beer garden has been very well setup and table service for food and drinks was very fast and efficient. One slight problem with one of the food orders (out of 15) and the staff were quick to resolve.
M. R.
Delicious food, I didn't manage to eat the whole portion. Good lunch meal deal.
W. L.
Good pub and a place to eat. Limited menu, good food and well presented. More pub food than gastro pub, but good nonetheless. There is a very good carpark here and outdoor space, though not picturesque. Excellent selection of beers and good pub atmosphere.
A. T.
One of the truly great pubs around. Fantastic selection of beer and cider. Food is great!
Friendly staff, brilliant pub quiz on a Sunday. Would recommend to anyone. Very lucky to have this as my local!!!!
G. P.
It's ok. There's better roasts out there for the price. I was just happy to see my mates for the afternoon. There's parking which is good, I guess.
K. M.
We came to this pub for a Sunday roast about 3 weeks ago with my parent in law as they live just down the road but haven't been for so many years. They totally loved it that my mother in law decided to celebrate her 80th at this pub today. It was amazing and we can't thank the staff enough. They are brilliant and very patient answering all our queries & changes in booking multiple times as we were worried about the weather. Staff are friendly, polite, attentive, super helpful. We had lamb, beef, pork and salmon roast. Nice Sunday roast (the best we had in Bristol). Both indoor and outdoors (gardens) are very pretty too. Thanks so much for making my mother in law 80th birthday a memorable one. Everyone had a good time and enjoyed their food and drinks. We plan to come again to try their other foods (weeknights or Saturday)
N. H.
Great atmosphere and amazing food 🤩 such a pretty pub garden as well
L. Z.
Often pop in for a quick pint after work!!
Great fresh tasting beers and very friendly staff.
W. P.
Place has a great atmosphere and good selection of ales. Unfortunately it is let down by waiting times and some service. Every order took around 15 minutes to take, and the same for it to arrive (drinks). When you are paying these prices for food/drinks you expect much better.
J. R.
I am removing my old comments and rating as I have been in touch with the landlord as he has corrected any issues.
This is a great pub for local or just passing through trade. It can get very busy, but the staff are always to hand.
What is even better is that they allow dogs!
Lots of seating inside the pub, but also many outside in the front and back areas also, so you can socialise in almost any area of the pub! They have an upstairs area which is great for private parties... I know I have had one there!
A great family pub, you don’t even have to have a drinkypoos, coffee is also served!
So don’t pass this pub by... nip in and chill, have lunch or even dinner with friends and family.... oh even a quiz on Sundays!!
L. S.
Nice Family lunch. Good food and lovely atmosphere. Not our first visit.
M. C.
The gluten free burger are amazing! The only place where the gluten free bun is crunchy and doesn't taste of sadness😂
Service is great and drink are not overpriced! Also if is sunny and you get seated under the sun is absolutely lovely! They have a huge covered up area if the weather is bad, which comes handy meanwhile the outdoor restriction are in place and the weather is what it is!
S. B.
Great choice of cider. Great recommendations for beer.
Lovely formerly staff, who accommodated to our needs well.
Food was good. The chocolate brownie desert was to die for (if you like it fudgy).
j. y.
Very expensive drinks over 10 pounds for small glass of wine and vodka and coke.Noisy and not very welcoming.
M. B.
Lovely Sunday lunch wuth my family.
k. G.
Lovely outdoor space and good pub food.
C. L.
Good menu, good quality and large choice of beer
L. M.
Nice fish and chips, friendly staff offering good service
J. W.
Excellent pub and the food was delicious.
R. L.
Really nice vibe for both families and couples. Great food. Massive portions. Beautiful fireplace and outdoor space. Highly recommend.
L. E.
The best topside of beef roast I've ever had. Amazing tasty veg and brilliant service. Lovely beer garden. Going to be a regular. Thank you Veronica and team.
K. L.
Food was good. 2 servers were lovely, 1 was really rude. Vodka like and sofa was almost all like and ridiculously set. Decent selection of draught ciders.
B. S.
Best vine sommelier ever, also very good burger!
E. B.
Nice selection of drinks. Looking a bit run down these days though.
F. 4.
We had dinner here and the food was good. We really liked the hamburgers and lots of choices for toppings which made it fun. The nachos were good and nice size portions. They are dog friendly and a pub like atmosphere. They didn't do a track and trace registration and noticed not all the staff wore masks which hopefully will correct for everyone's safety. They have outside seating and currently pay as you go at the table with table service. Everyone was friendly and we had a pleasant evening.
S. L.
Booked a table in advance, arrived and were seated with no problem. Although we were in the marque it was fine. Pub doing everything to follow all latest Covid guidelines. It did take a long time for our drinks order to arrive but they were very busy. All in all a pleasant evening and we look forward to returning soon when we can sit inside (in the warm)!
M. F.
I went here with some mates for football..
Lovely little pub garden.
Had to watch football on our phone but was still a good night.
Not all the staff was friendly some was even rude but ADAM was a good laugh and took banter well .. covid regulations was being followed correctly too which was nice .
D. O.
Very nice lunch with great beer selection
r. t.
Brunch was nice and had a chat with a few friends, also nice
D. B.
The best fish and chips I ever had 🤩

Really nice ambient, good food and great service
D. P.
My favourite Bristol pub, with a great ale selection, good food and lovely atmosphere.
C. S.
Fantastic pub with an incredible array of beers and ciders on tap. Food is top notch.
C. H.
Amazing Sunday lunch. One of the best I've had in a while
A. C.
Roast lamb plate was massive. Very tender and the gravey was delicious. Sticky toffee pudding portion was huge very sweet but lovely. Beer, larger and cider selection was good too
A. R.
Good service and good Sunday lunch. Not their fault but it can be a bit loud when full.
A. B. N.
Delicious food, great atmosphere and they fitted us in at short notice.
K.
Another lovely visit, lovely staff members who made us smile and laugh
Desserts were bomb
M. A.
Good range of beers, friendly staff
j. r.
Didn't have a meal meeting up with the lads for drinks
C. “. T.
A very good selection of beers and cider. Nice food but not that cheap. Surprisingly large pub with good size car park and outside area. Interesting loos with cut back beer barrels as urinal and garden through as sink, a bit dark but clean. Enjoy !!
S. D.
Green trees :D
H. M.
Fantastic Sunday Lunch, best I've had in a long time. Added to a great visit to my daughter at uni in Bristol. Highly recommend this place. Staff and service friendly and professional. Covid policy very good. Will definitely be back.
A. V. H.
Took my parents here for my dad's birthday lunch as they both really love the place. The mixed plates are great, no need to mo e to the mains if you order a selection of these. The loaded nachos are a meal in themselves be warned! Great selection of beers and the staff are really friendly.
c. h.
Great service, good food. A proper pub. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable, safe and responsible. A top choice when in bristol
C. B.
Is a lovely pub with a lively atmosphere. Can be busy but its easy to find yourself a little nest to sit. Plus it has board games to satisfy your boredom or in the summer it hosts its own cider festival with live music. On a day to day running, the pub has a fantastic selection of ales which changes regularly with an extensive menu which caters to many if not all tastes or allergy and dietary requirements. It also provides a heroes discount for emergency service workers. A great pub with great staff.
P. T.
Excellent range of beers and good food.
J. H.
My favourite pub to go to in Bristol, for the drinkers there are guest beers and ciders, the food is always delicious and filling. The new veggie and vegan menu is great. My previous choice would have been the ham egg and chips! The staff are lovely and there are board games, quiz nights and more. I have never had anything but a happy, fun time in there.
J. D.
Love this pub. I order dishes here that I've historically not really enjoyed at other restaurants because I know I'll like them here. Lots of nice beers and ciders. Very strong crisp selection.
J. C.
Nice staff, lovely outside area, and their lunchtime menu is great value and offer NHS a small discount which is good. really good pub
J. S.
Lovely chicken bacon avocado salad.
Nice to sit in the garden.
Nice friendly service.
Split the bill effortlessly.
S. M.
We live very close by, and often frequent this friendly local pub. The food is great and reasonably priced, and they are dog friendly.
I am sad covid did not allow the Annual Cider Festival to go ahead.
S. C.
Went on a Friday evening for a quick drink with family. Warm friendly welcome on arrival. However, long wait to order drinks and very noisy. Acoustically, the noise vibrates around the place so if you're after a quiet drink on a Friday, forget it!
D. M.
Nice little pub. Driven past in for 30 years and ne er bee in before. A peaceful lush place to go for a quiet drink and chill.
J. M.
Nice atmosphere but the food a little expensive.
K. R.
Lovely place lovely people lovely fire !!! Food on the whole very good but fish fingers very poor. Good value for money though x
K. S.
Amazing place. Great service. Lovely inside. Delicious menu. Fantastic selection of beers and ciders.
J. N.
One of the better placed to stop for an ale on Gloucester rd. They have an open fire with comfy sofas, a decent garden space with some heater's, a pool table and selection of board games. The food they serve is really good and their annual beer festival is worth attending. An all round good boozer.
A. B.
Nice atmosphere. Good quiz. Reasonable ale selection and an ample cider selection although pint prices are a little on the higher side. Excellent cheesy chips, get some, you won't regret it. The staff were attentive, friendly and relaxed.
G. B.
Good looking pub/inn with a great garden. The waiters were amazing and were checking in on us every 10-15 mins or so
L. W.
This is a personal favourite as I met my wife here. Prices are reasonable has a beer garden both back and front and is dog friendly all year around. Lovely pub lovely staff but I miss the steak baguette off the menu. If your brought this back I would eat there more instead of just drinking. My only criticism is the menu is not pregnancy friendly every meal has something you're not supposed to eat, however the staff will amend and accommodate where they can.
B. L.
I think the team here do a good job. I've never tried the food but it looks good and every time we are in the pub we wonder why we haven't. The drinks selection is good with everything from wine, ciders to real ales. Toilets are quirky but functional. There's generally a good mix of clientele, ranging from students to locals. A relaxing non threatening atmosphere and the garden obviously comes into its own come the summer.
R. F.
Nice pub with large selection of drinks and a friendly Social atmosphere.
I. P. C.
Great drinks and welcoming atmosphere. Absolutely top pub, and a very wide range of beers to choose from. The food and the menu is pretty awesome, I’ve been to this pub for lunch, dinner and Sunday roast and everything tasted amazing. From the small plates I highlight the bread which is homemade and the flavor is amazing. Highly Recommend this place.
L. G.
Shared a nice afternoon in the beer garden with a friend here. Food was nice, service was really good, pub is dog friendly, and gluten free beer options.
A. D.
I visit here semi-regularly, it's got a nice beer garden, well technically two I suppose as there is a smaller separate one I didn't notice until after several visits. Bar billiards table and darts, plus board games are available inside, also table tennis and pool table in the beer garden. Only eaten there a couple of times but it was really nice. I look forward to trying more of the menu. Some nice beers to try there, personally I recommend the Hill Climb if you like pale ale
K. A.
Very friendly staff, open fire, perfect place to wait for someone in A&E
D. B.
Decent pub with a very nice interior and exterior decor. As a cider drinker I was happy to have a few ciders to choose from. Food menu is nice and the prices are a bit steeper but its a nice pub so don't mind paying more. Barman that served me well friendly and chatty. Definitely recommend this place.
P. d. M.
My friends & I enjoyed our Xmas meal together here last Saturday. It topped-off a great day which saw Bristol Rovers come back from 2-0 down against Southend Utd. to win 4-2. The food was good quality, good value and plentiful. There was also a great atmosphere there.
J. D.
Went for food and drinks with a large group for a colleague's leaving do. It was during a world cup match so it was a little busy. However, staff and service was excellent - was never waiting more than a couple of minutes to be served. Good selection of spirits, with cider, ale, lager, and wine also available. Food was reasonably priced for a gastro pub and of a high standard. I will be returning in the future.
K. L.
Very busy tonight and had a long wait for our meal but the meal was delicious and the atmosphere great
T. S.
A nice pub with a quieter dining area with tables. A wide selection of craft ales and a decent menu. The food was good - I enjoyed a steak with a delicious peppercorn sauce. They offer small plates - three for a tenner - that was enjoyed by the table and seemed good value. The rest of the mains maybe a little on the pricey side. Overall good pub food.
S. B.
Great pub with a local feel. Excellent choice of beers and ciders plus the usual array of draught lagers and IPAs.
Food is pretty good too.
Excellent beer garden, friendly staff.
It can get busy at weekends, but worth a bit of a wait to get served and you can nearly always get a seat somewhere.
D. M.
Lovely pub. Does great roasts on Sundays and decent food the rest of the time. Dog friendly, good service, beer garden. Nice ambience. They also do a discount for NHS staff, teachers, police, fire fighters, etc.
J. M.
Food was good and arrived quickly once the order was made. Very slow in getting our order taken though, had to go up to the bar to remind them that we were there.
J. D.
Inn on the green has the best Sunday roast in Bristol and service is always amazing, Mikey usually looks after us and he's an absolute delight! Go for the yorkies stay for the service
A. W.
Went for the Sunday roast with my girlfriend and we both loved it! The portions were generous and it was all very tasty. We phoned up in the morning to book a table and it was lucky we did since it was so busy which is always a good sign.
R. W.
Brilliant pub. Warm and friendly. Great selection of ales and ciders. Food is also very reasonable and a really good choice. And on top of all that they offer discounts for people in uniform. We'll be back very soon.
Oh, try the 'Otter Head' ale before they change it!
L. H.
One of my favourite pubs in Bristol. Great range of draft drinks which rotate fairly regularly. Good food with a different deal every week. Some really big tables that can be booked for board games. Also dog and kid friendly. The staff are always really polite and friendly.
T. M.
Very good choices of beers, good menu, food was tasty and service not bad. Beer prices a little high (over £5 each for the different lagers we had). It was busy but not loud, pleasent atmosphere. We were lucky to get a table on a weekday evening.
D. H.
Always the best service...atmosphere .and wonderful staff x
L. S.
Fantastic classic style pub. Great food and the bar staff were wonderful
A. H.
Had a really nice evening here with couple very nice (but pricey!) beers. Will definitely come back the table service worked really well. Could do with a drinks menu on the table though.
D.
Lovely little beer garden at the back with super friendly and helpful staff. Good choice of beers - including two gluten-free beers even.
K. B.
Great local pub that serves above average food. Tip- go for the two steaks and a bottle of wine for £30, the steak is excellent but the bottle of house wine is strictly average. Available Mondays and Tuesdays.
m. m.
Luvley staff and great Sunday lunch
C. T.
Lovely food, always good service.
P. G.
Best Sunday roast I've tried in the 7 years I've been living in Bristol. Cozy and friendly pub, amazing selection of beers and incredible ale festival. Lovely garden for summer. Warm fireplace for winter.
A. H.
Friendly staff, food was ok too.
N. W.
We were staying close by to the Inn on the Green, and were very happy with our time there. Firstly it is very much a dog friendly pub. We have two hounds who were made welcome and provision is made for them. Secondly, the outside areas are fantastic. There are plenty of areas to sit, a covered games area with table tennis and pool and generally the whole area is well maintained and more than adequate for everyone's needs.
Internally the pub is very very nicely laid out. From huge tables for groups, to intimate areas to sit. The bar is very well stocked and they have a great choice of ales. The staff were very busy, but were all friendly and competent. I cannot comment on the food, but all the meals thay came out looked very nice!!
It's a shame more pubs don't pull out all the stops as this one appears to do!
R. C.
Never eaten here but the food always looks great. There's a good selection of ales on tap and some parking. Nice little outside patio area plus a fair amount of indoor seating. It always seems busy so that's a good sign.
z. z.
Try chicken burger but did not have the basil flavour as says in the menu .Good atmosphere anyway nice pub for pint. Thanks guys good service
K. A.
Went last night-27/9/2014. double G&T for an extra £1-good deal then 4 main courses for £50 including two bottles of house white! Really good value. The food was fresh, tasty and exactly as described on the menu. We had three duck dishes cooked perfectly, which were enjoyed immensely and one vegetarian which was absolutely excellent, really flavoursome and a good portion size. We all cleared our plates but couldn't fit in a pud, we will do that another time. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. I'm looking forward to going again soon. My only comment would be, the seat was broken and moved a lot and the knives were blunt, but that is being picky and really we were jolly enough to make a joke out of it anyway. Well done The Inn on the Green, we will be back for more with family and friends.

We have now visited here a couple of times and would highly recommend a visit. Very friendly staff, excellent food, great beer and wine, and if you go for one of the meal deals it is excellent value also, we had two steaks and a bottle of wine for £25. It has a very cosy interior and if it's a nice day it also has a beautiful floral garden to sit in. One of the best pubs in Bristol!
A. M.
Good selection of ales. Great vegetarian options (bbq jackfruit pie!) And the dark chocolate brownie was excellent, not to mention the 10%discount for NHS, Police and military etc! Easy parking and they allow dogs. All in all, a good place for an easy lunch!
D. W.
Amazing selection of ales and good food. Great atmosphere and lovely beer garden.
J.
Good food, quick table service. In a big marquee at moment but one of the few places we have been that actually have patio heaters.
S. M.
Great atmosphere, friendly, efficient staff, excellent drinks selection and decent menu.
B. C.
Inn on the green is a favourite spot for meeting up with friends. This is mostly due to location, but it has everything we need. Good food at a reasonable price. A varied menu with a good range of specials. A cosy atmosphere and a great range of beers. I would recommend wholeheartedly.
C. W.
Great atmosphere polite staff great food
L. S.
Good pub, pleasant atmosphere, friendly at seat service, late opening, good choice, no problems
A. L.
This is my favourite local pub.
Just 15 min walk from where I live, this cosy yet lively pub is my first choice for weeknight beers.
Whether you are in a group or a first date this pub suits all :)
I will say that the food can be a bit oily for my taste - it’s all down to personal preference.
Also this pub is dog friendly 🐶
C. G.
Dog friendly and cost. Big fireplace and comfy sofas of you can get on them. The bar can get pretty packed but once you work your way along the bar it opens out.
Have eaten here a number of times and the food is always tasty.
L. M.
Amazing staff and incredible steak sandwich!
Always a friendly place.
J. G.
I like it but you seem to wait a long time to order your first drink on table service I initially thought was because it was a weekend however I then went in on a Monday and waited even longer even though it was almost empty... Staff greeted me on arrival so we're aware I was there and yet had to go back to them after 25 minutes to see if they were going to come and take my order... Perhaps investing in an app for ordering would be a good idea if staff unable to cope with demand
H. S.
Came in for lunch yesterday on a cold day. The fire was roaring and was such a welcome sight. Made it so cosy and warm and they were also serving hot mulled cider, a favourite of mine on a cold day. I had the seabass for lunch and it was delicious.
I've been visiting this pub for the last eight years and it has always been consistently great. The food, selection of drinks and welcome are top notch. Also it's dog friendly. Highly recommend.
C. K.
Brilliant service. Loved the garden. Meal off the specials was different and delicious.
G. I.
Good beer selection, open fire and bar games. Nice pub.
F. P.
Loved the casual and friendly vibe. Extremely helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and the Sunday Roast one of the best I've had. Very busy and popular but didn't wait too long to be served. Definitely going back.
A. S.
Nice pub with good pub quiz!
A. G.
Food here is good and reasonably priced for a gastropub, excellent selection of real ales ciders and lagers
J. J.
Great Sunday lunch, great service. Hopefully their full beer range will be back post covid so I can visit for an evening session
N. B.
Good food, good beer, good service, good price, welcoming environment. Plus there's parking.
M. R.
Slow service on traking food orders, not much vegetarian option, small portions but otherwise very lovely staff and a very nice pub.
H. H.
The food is fairly good for the price, plenty of space but in these days (May 2021) you need to book hours before.
Few games as well...
R. S.
Good food. Good beer. Nice pub
J. C.
Lovely food, huge choice of beers, great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. Perfect pub. Oh, and a fantastic colourful garden.
P. G.
Met a friend for a lunchtime drink and snack - sat in beer garden very nice good food and service
K. G.
We go there for a change. Tables aren't crowded too close together, outside space and a reasonable menu. Sort of place you could happily sit for a couple of hours. Good background music too.
A. W.
Average pub with nice outside area for the summer. Trying too hard to please locals, students and families, but not hitting any on the mark. If you want a drink and maybe some food then there's plenty of space, just not much atmosphere.
W. J.
Enjoyable first visit. Very friendly staff. Food excellent quality with decent sized portions. Better than average choice for vegetarians. Will definitely return to try the Sunday lunch.
C. D.
Great selection of ales and a delicious menu
J. T.
Excellent pub, great atmosphere and the staff are always incredibly friendly and helpful. Restaurant quality food is a big plus too, as well as a fine selection of beers and ciders. A notch above your usual.
P. D.
Beer festival was well organized..lots of staff so never a wait. I think the prices are a little steep for some of the beers e.g. Independence..£5.15….only £4.40 in the loungers!!!
S. C.
Been here a few times for a lunchtime pint, most times we went it was practically empty, it can get quite busy outside when it's sunny though. They have a reasonable selection of real ales and ciders some quite dark seating indoors and a small outdoor space. I don't know what their parking gets like in the evenings but they have a huge carpark, they would do better to remove some of the spaces and increase the seating area outside.
They would also do well to clean the tables once in a while every time we have been the tables have been sticky or awash with pub juice. Some of the tables are so wobbly you need to really cooperate with your fellow drinkers so no-one get covered in someones drink.
T. B.
Great place, lovely food and staff, very dog friendly
C. S.
This place was lovely! Went there with work friends, it is a fab atmosphere and reasonable prices, parking can be a pain but there is parking. I left my car there overnight and no problems with that at all. A great Indian restaurant up the road too. Family friendly and clean!
H. S.
Great pub! Always busy and has a good atmosphere. Good selection of drinks and food at reasonable prices. Nice place to come for a roast on a Sunday!
S. H.
Had Sunday lunch here today and the food wasn’t that great the beef was very chewy and tough, when I mentioned it to the girl that cleared our table she said she would let the chief know! Didn’t get apologies or ask if we wanted our money back nothing just ignored the fact I didn’t eat it and for £12 it was poor service! I would return to try again tho as it’s a great pub and good atmosphere
J. H.
Reserved a table for 10 retired work colleagues lunchtime get together. One of the largest selection of real ales I have come across in Bristol.
Unusual cask ale barrels for urinals in the toilets.
A real quirky pub.
D. H.
Thank you for today. Thanks for offering and letting me use the function room to do much needed physio for my poorly leg . Was a great space and warm. Thankyou for a lovely BLT. I appreciate that you were busy today. Thankyou for making make it easier between my appointments. 😊
N. S. (.
Great pub. Great selection of beers. Great food. Only thing is - it is very busy on Sunday.
I waited to find a table last time but was worth the wait.
K. S.
Love the Inn on the Green. Such a lovely place to go on a Saturday night, and Janis gave 5 star service. Favourite pub in Bristol!
S. K.
A nice and friendly place with a genuine old pub atmosphere. My husband and I visited it during our recent your of England and this was one of the best country pubs we experienced in our travels. Our best wishes to the "Inn on the Green".
T. M.
Very large and popular Bristol pub. Enormous selection of beers, ciders and lagers. Wine can be bought by the bottle. Very tired decoration and a bit cavernous but very busy especially on summer
B. W.
Standard pub frequented by workers from the hospital after the working week has ended. Discounts for public sector workers and standard chain pub feel. I hear the cheesy chips are good though
A. B.
Pricey, but friendly with huge choice of beers. Beer patio area at back with lots of long benches. Car park area. Dog friendly. Food orders seemed quite quick on the Friday night I was there.
Z. M.
Fab food, drink and dog friendly. My dog Blue loves it!
T. C.
Really nice, good sized portions
Lovely gin too
J. S.
Good beer, decaf tea, friendly service. Perfect!
C. S.
Nice, average pub. Good selection of beers on tap and bottled cider. Didn't eat there but the food looks good.
S. m.
A great pub serving food & drink. Went in here for a game of darts with my friend had the whole corner to ourselves it was great. Would highly recommend this place for any reason whether it’s food or socialising with friends.
M. S.
We go each Sunday for lunch. Table always booked as it is so popular. The best service and food. Some how someone posted in my name a one star which is not correct. I would like to say we call this pub our local.
D. I.
I nice pub if you are in this neck of the woods, I've always been impressed with the selection of ales on offer. The pub offers that 'traditional country style' interior that you just don't get with places closer to the centre. The beer festival is well worth sticking in the diary too.
R. D.
Good range of beers but a bit top heavy at £4 a pint or thereabouts, but I do live in Yorkshire after all. Nice vibe and the open fire gave off enough smoke for a lovely smell in the room!
R. H.
Sorry reviewed the wrong pub! This is a great family pub with great food and a large selection of beers. It has a lovely garden with table tennis and pool. Kid friendly and dog friendly. Highly recommended. Cheers!
L. L.
Food is amazing on wednesdays (£20 for two burgers+coleslaw+chips and two pints). Staff is really nice, beautifully decorated (fairylights 😍). A bit dark inside. Drinks can be quite expensive for a student budget, still worth going every once in a while for a treat night.
E. E. F. F.
Cozy pub, the best Pub in Horfield to chill out with friends. Friendly attention from staff, delicious food and the best beer and ciders. A cute backyard with tables and ping pong table. Top place, recommended.
J. M. G.
Greatvrange of beers in goid condition. Lively and friendly atmosphere on a winter's Tues evening. Other people's food looked lovely, will eat here another time
A. H.
Great range of selection on the menu with fantastic service
S. C.
Weird place. Food was over priced and trying to be something it wasn't. Eg Venison pie on its own was lovely. The flavours it was combined with don't work. Each item on its own was nice. Together it was just odd.
a. r.
Lovely place to go really friendly staff was very comfortable in side there pub no problems with social distancing ,
T. H.
The kitchen here fluctuates in quality massively seemingly with each season. Probably due to competing with The Wellington down the road. Right now, though, the kitchen us superb. The décor is kinda cool too, if you don't mind it being a bit odd. Good drink selection too, though it's all painfully overpriced.
M. S.
Good range of beer, friendly pub, food ok too. They've got a nice milk stout from Bristol Beer Factory on tap. Heaven in a glass.
C. E.
Friendly gastro-pub. Ping pong table outside as well as plenty of seating (a real sun-trap in the summer!) Plenty of room inside for eating with fireplaces to keep you warm in winter. Offer a loyalty card so you get your 10th drink free, ideal if you're a local, or if a load of you are visiting (apply online prior to arrival) Can get very busy, and although the food is very good it can be a touch pricy, though they offer some great deals - two mains (including steak) and a bottle of wine for £30!
A. A.
Good food, nice beer and quick service is a lovely garden.
J. W.
Nice atmosphere and I like the pub but you're paying a lot for drinks. Soft drinks especially expensive when you end up getting flat lemonade as has happened multiple times.
J. H.
Lovely pub in a prime location. Dog friendly witha great selection of Ales, Ciders and Larger.
The food is also excellent.
J. S.
Nice Pub, plenty of room and a clean pub garden, that being said £15 for three pints seems expensive
K. S.
Good selection of beers, but struggled to cope with pace for table service for drinks this evening (maybe short staffed).
T. M.
Go there every Thursday for a year now. Good quality food, great selection of local ales, great staff, ping pong table or darts, nice garden . The perfect pub in Bristol.
g. c.
Really disappointed, staff still great , service still great, food just ok. For pub food, when paying premium ,you expect high quality food. Always viewed inn on the green as a restaurant that was also a great pub, now .....great pub....overpriced food of an ok quality
A. E.
Great ales and ciders and amazing food. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed and even an open fire in the winter. Perfect pub👍.
a. s.
Been a few times, you can't go wrong with a Sunday lunch here.most pubs always overcook the meat, not here! But have noticed the beef portions are a little light, just saying.
R. M.
Awesome atmosphere with a wide range of beers and food.
For a winter evening drink or a cheeky summer cocktail. Inn in the green is a nice place to start the night off or relax with friends.
R. D.
Really nice food, Mac n cheese was actually cheesy! And nice bread with it, good halloumi fries, friendly staff. A really lucky find!
n. t.
really nice staff, service fairly good service but I'm not convinced it's so good that it merits the exorbitant prices. easily the most expensive pub on Gloucester rd and it's not in the main drag. the reason given for the Guinness being £4.40 is that it's a "premium product" but it's the same product I can drink down the road for £3.60 only the cheaper one is a better pint. just saying like.
J. M.
Really good atmosphere and the staff are knowledgeable about the wide range of tall ales that they sell. Outside astro turf garden with tables and pool table under cover.
Large car park and yearly beer festival around May
P. G.
Best Sunday lunch I’ve had in a VERY long time. Worth travelling for. Friendly staff, exceptional food.
j. p.
It's a friendly helpfull public house with a good selection of ales/lagers/wines..
The food is a good selection, with offers.
It has a garden and car park.
On covid19 mode find a table(mon--thurs) or book on weekends or for food reservations.
Table service contact only.
S. L.
Usually the food is great, but chunky chips and batter on cod overcooked. I have rated it 5 as this is my first time of not enjoying my meal. The staff are extremely helpful and polite as always
B. G.
Good food and service as usual
B. M.
Seemed a friendly and happy place, made feel welcome.
Asked to order food and given a menu and told to pick a table, the table was dirty and sticky, beer mats torn and wet, Ummmm
Hand to go back to the bar to order, was served promptly, ordered the pepper steak Medium and a pint of Guinness.
Food arrived very quick, with chips and side salad ( this was 3 sprigs of lettuce and 1 slice of very ripe tomato )
Chips were home made and did taste nice.
Steak was over cooked and uneatable, waiting staff were not to be seen, ate my chips and two mouth full of steak at a push.
Consulted the waiter and he took my plate away, on return he apologised and offered me another pint, not impressed, I offered to come back the next night for a complimentary meal, but they refused and gave me a full refund.
Not the experience I was looking for, I was working all day and starving.
I do have to say some of the other dishes did look good.
Maybe next time
a. b.
Nice selection of beers . They don't have any disposable face mask here so make sure everyone has their own
M. L.
£12.50 for a simple chicken breast burger, handful of chips and small pot of coleslaw. It would have cost 17 quid if I wanted avocado, bacon and sweet potato fries 😬
T. P.
Love this place. The food is really good, the decor and atmosphere is good. Decent selection of drinks and an annual beer festival. Worth a visit!
N. A.
Relaxed atmosphere for an evening drink. Good for lunchtime work team meal; food came quickly and we were impressed with the standard of the food.
K. J.
The served food was lovely and staff very friendly.
A. M.
Just had a fantastic steak meal, cooked exactly how I asked for it to be.
Staff are friendly.
Good choice of alcoholic beverages on offer.
Comfy surroundings
R. H.
Good pub, friendly staff, good food, good beer. What more could you want.
D. G.
Excellent, waitress service only , so attentive, very good service , only had to put your hand in the air and they were there , brilliant well done.
J. C.
Poor menu some food was poorly cooked although they did give us a refund for that meal. We picked a bad day to go as rovers were playing at home. The service was very good and all efficient
A. w.
Great pub wonderful staff good GF options very good evening had all round
A. C. C.
The Sunday evening charity quiz is a hoot. Staff are always friendly and interesting. I particularly appreciate the work of their diligent chefs. Top nosh.
T. B.
Love this pub with good ambiance and range of seating. Pool and table tennis in summer. Allows dogs. Warm fire in winter. Friendly staff. Let down is they stopped serving peroni.
I. R.
Simple food well presented. Bit pricey but still good value.
T. H.
Great pub, good selection of ales, cosy fire place, lovely food, great customer service, love music and dog friendly! What's not to love about this place.
T. A.
Fantastic Sunday lunch highly recommended lovely staff and thank you so much
J. H.
Been here for a weekday stop off lunch a few times now, Spacious, own Car Park, fast polite service and very nice Gastro Pub food, will be back again...
B. M.
Great beer choice. Food looked good although we didn't eat there. Will definitely go back for a meal though.
D. 2.
Good pub that serves a good selection of food and drink. Lovely in the summer when you can sit outside in the garden or in the winter when you can sit inside in the warm on one of the sofas.
M. F.
Lovely food!! Not long to wait & helpful staff will use again!!!
O. B.
This is a lovely pub. Great food and good selection of beers. Friendly staff and a very joyous atmosphere.
Glad for this to be my local.
E. W.
My brother works here and that keeps him away from me
C. C.
Hats off to them for the fantastic effort to be covid safe and the outdoor set up. Great staff and service. Keep supporting them.
N. H.
Great pub: a wide variety of proper beers, cooks a mean steak and there's an occasional folk session which is not too be missed.
R. D.
Atmospheric pub with a decent selection of beers and plenty of seating. The beer garden is nice in summer and in winter it's very cosy sitting by the fire.
K. B.
Great atmosphere, food is good and not too badly priced. Good beers. Better cider if you're a cider drinker. Cozy place!
P. T.
over £4 for a bottle of alcohol free beer! That's pricey for an average place with sticky tables. Wouldn't go there again.
A. L.
This pub has been here for many more years than I car to remember, so that these days says a lot and pubs do not stay if they are rubbish
There is a good car park, it is near a sports centre and a major hospital (if you are doing lots of visiting and need to get away and is within walking distance) It is on a bus route too - currently 75 & 76 First Bus (Cribbs causeway and Henbury respectively)
I was lucky to go on a weekday lunchtime and we did not feel rushed whilst I meet up with ex-work colleagues he food was nicely prepared and excellent value for money
The staff were polite and efficient and it was an enjoyable visit
There is also plenty of outdoor seating
great choice of ciders - other than the main brands
S. R.
Had a lovely Sunday lunch during a visit to my stepson's house down the road. Fantastic selection of real ales and a good atmosphere, we will definately be back!
F. W.
Great pub, feels good when you walk in, the bar staff are friendly and the 🍺 is good. we were there for a wake and the Inn provided the space and a fair old spread, all in all very satisfied!
A. W.
A warm, cosy environment with a nice selection of beers/ales and decent food. Pub quiz every Sunday evening. Dog friendly.
T. J. M.
Sat outside but very much felt like being inside with a veranda and heater at our table. Good service too ☺️
J. F.
Had lunch here. Excellent selection of beer and ciders. Food was good. Certainly worth a visit.
K. H.

T. H.
We love coming here. The staff are so lovely!!!
Food is amazing 🥰
J. H.
Absolutely top pub, and a very wide range of beers to choose from. Welcoming atmosphere and good food.
M. W.
Chicken and bacon BBQ ciabatta was good value with a decent portion of chips. Pricing on alcohol comes across a little steep.
A. H.
Expensive beer, good range though. Great service
C. L.
One of the best pubs in Bristol, good craft ale selection, great food, friendly and helpful staff and a nice little beer garden with table tennis.
T. K.
Lovely local pub with good food and friendly service
M. F.
Good food and beer, on the slightly pricey side, but the quality is there. Sunday roast was really good! Might need a reservation on a Sunday lunch though.
P. B.
Lovely staff here. Dog friendly. Good menu and fantastic selection of beers.
W. S.
Great real ale selection. Outdoor pool table. Billiards. Quality seasonal food. Great 'local' even though I live the other side of Bristol.
r. H.
Great ale great pub food great staff what more can one say....🤘
L. R.
Only giving 4 stars because my food was swimming in way too much gravy but rather than that, delicious Sunday roast. I would definitely go back and this time ask the gravy on the side.
K. C.
Good beers and a good outdoor space for you to enjoy
k. b.

Smart and cosy at the same time, open fire, great ales, old fashioned billiards and ping pong, great Sunday roast and food in general, slightly pricey but worth every penny.
D. H.
I have only visited this pub a few times, but as a big fan of ales, my jaw hit the ground when I Saw around 15 taps on the bar all with different ales to offer! well worth a visit
S. M.
Lovely pub, serving a good old fashioned home made Sunday roast. Dog friendly too.
s. c.
Had 2 meals for £7, hunters chicken, was good, couldn't eat all of it as served with cabiatta. Sat at weird low log table, soon changed tables to eat. Prob will go there again.
