Could not recommend enough! Among the best pub food I've ever had. Went originally planning on having the English roast but decided to give the Caribbean Combo a go instead and I'm SO glad I did. The jerk pork absolutely melts in your mouth, the chicken is cooked to perfection and the curry goat is delicious. Even the coleslaw is great! Nice friendly staff too - will definitely go back.

Went here for some Jamaican food and was not disappointed! It was absolutely amazing! Jerk chicken and ribs were both amazing but the curry goat was out of this world! The pub interior was modern and fresh and a nice place to eat, have a drink and even watch whatever sport is on! And also the staff were amazing. Quick and efficient service! Would recommend!

Went for Sunday lunch today, the food was great. Great mix of food culture with standard Sunday roast and Jamaican currys. Also the atmosphere was really nice. Having a very small child running riot, all the staff and locals were very friendly which made the experience all the better. Really impressed.

Been here for a drink only a couple of times since living in Bristol…. A friend recommended it’s takeaway roast as I’m a big roast fan…. Couldn’t be arsed to cook one today so popped in for a couple of roasts… had a pint whilst I waited and took them home… BOOM !!!! Amazing!! Thank you . Went for food on Sunday really nice they had traditional roast or Carribbean. Went for jerk pork it was stunning pork was the star of the show had a Mac and cheese on the side and a pint of Guinness. Perfect Sunday. Great staff

Nice place, good food usually, was let down by my starter, jerk chicken wings tasted stale, were frozen in the centre and in fareness they got my a new one but it was just completely blitz in the microwave the chicken wings were dry and hard, seems as they freeze them then chuck them in the microwave, surpirsed as wings dont take that long to cook from fresh! however the main jerk chicken past I had was really nice cousont fault it, big nice portion. But over would recommend the place, great for live football, good atmosphere. Would of given a 5 if it wasn't for the wings

Fantastic food and great prices. Very lovely Caribbean food, although today I had the tuna nicoise salad, which was also good. Never had a bad meal here, after at least 4 years of visiting. Friendly staff too. It can get busy, so I would say it's advisable to book if it's a larger group. Couple of TV screens also showing sport.

Came here for Sunday lunch, the food was Delicious! We ordered the Caribbean and English Sunday lunch combo's with a side of Man n Cheese and was not disappointed, every thing we had was so tasty. Although words of warning, you should skip a meal before visiting this amazing place as the portions are big, couldn't finish our food and had to take some home. In addition to a lovely meal you don't feel rushed & the service is brilliant. Thank you The Kings Head for a fantastic Sunday lunch 👏👏👏

Just eaten an absolutely faultless Jerk Chicken burger and fries. The whole thing was a joy from start to finish. The fries were cooked to perfection with not a hint of grease. Served with a side of coleslaw and salad well worth the money. Will definitely return, the chef is a genius!

The Jamaican food is peng, hits the spot! All about the jerk chicken Sunday roast but with the English trimmings, and the jerk gravy, YUM YUM YUM! Ask the staff for that combo as it’s not on the menu but they will do it. Had the trio of meats roast and polished it off easily, didn’t come out as big as I was expecting.

One of my favourite pubs in the area. Always have regulars in and tables booked for food which is fantastic every time. I haven't ever strayed from the Caribbean side of the menu, it's so good and the portions are extremely generous. Well priced drinks too. I highly recommend this place.

Great place for Caribbean food. The pub serves a good selection of beers, ciders and soft drinks. It also has big screens for the sports. They do a lovely Sunday roast with a slight Caribbean twist, so the meats are all lightly spiced and the roast potatoes are delicious. Unless you go early book ahead for a table, especially on Sunday.

Went to The King's Head for the first time today with family and we really enjoyed our experience! We didn't book a table in advance but were seated within 10 - 15 minutes. The staff were really welcoming, friendly and professional. The only thing we weren't sure about/mentioned to, was that you have to go up and order your food at the bar so we were sat there for a while until we decided to ask. The food came out quickly after ordering. It was hot and really nicely presented. The traditional steak roast and the curried goat was ordered and they were both really lovely and authentic. Couldn't fault the food and would definitely recommend!

The Service is hit and miss, sometimes good, yesterday very poor. The young lady did not ask me what I wanted as such instead, dictated to me a specific item from the menu - As I understand it when taking an order the customer is asked what they want! Generally her manner was bad, using the polite words though her demeanour was offish and brusque. My food did not come with the colslaw I specifically asked for which is part of the meal on the menu. Neither did it include the steamed greens also included in the menu description of jerk chicken. Although the food overall is generally good, sadly the service often puts me off visiting the Kings Head.

1st I want to say the bad review left by 'Sam Davies' is NOT from my wife with same name. We love the food here! Caribbean or not it has always been fantastic. The Caribbean combo is to die for! We've been here together, with the kids, for a funeral wake & last night for a fantastic surprise birthday arranged for me by my wife. The food has always been top notch & I'm amazed that the previous review is so bad & is also from a reviewer with same name as my wife! The owner Mouse doesn't suffer fools & tells it how it is but if you're respectful in his establishment you will appreciate the lovely food his chef produces in a friendly relaxed environment. His family & staff deserve credit for being friendly and polite as well. Don't be put off the bad review! Try it, I'll be amazed if you don't like it!

Wow what a roast. We were following google directions to somewhere else and drove past. Popped in on a whim and wow are we pleased we did!!! The beef was well done (I hate seeing ‘red’) but so succulent and tender. The veggies had a bit of a surprise as the red cabbage had a bit of a kick, but all flavours blended well and it was one of the best roasts I’ve eaten. (And my sister is a chef! Shhh don’t tell her)! I’m v interested in the goat curry next time (yes there’ll be a next time)!

This is a good local pub. All the usual, beers, ciders wines etc, lots of screens for sports and a big room at the back with a projector for big games. The place is clean and friendly and so is usually quite busy, especially on a Sunday when they do an excellent roast. The usual English roasts, but also some really superb Jamaican-influenced versions which are a nice change. I would recommend this place for anyone wanting a drink, to watch a game or needing some food, maybe not the most romantic of places though and not overly setup for little ones.

The food here was great, I had a combo meal of curried goat and jerk chicken. It should have had pulled pork too but herein lies the problem. We were a large party booked in so we were asked to pre-order-not a problem, we all ordered what we wanted well over a week in advance. So when they tell you they've run out of pork, both after knowing they had an order to fulfill a week in advance and only telling me after serving me my meal, that's a little poor. Add to this that one of our party was missed out and ended up getting hers after some of the party had finished. But worst of all was that we had to wait well over an hour after our booking to get any food. Ridiculous, especially considering we had pre-ordered. So, to summarise, the service was poor, though friendly but I'd be willing to give it another try, in a small group, because the food was great.

Where to start...... We booked the Kings Head for my daughters wedding reception and evening reception. From the moment I walked through the door to book the receptions the ower Martyn could not have made me more welcome. on the day the staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. We had a sit down meal for the afternoon reception of Roast Beef. the food was totally amazing. after the meal the room was transformed by the staff ready for the evening reception. this time we had a buffet of English and Caribbean food again was amazing. all the worry with regards to the receptions was taken away from us i have had many phone calls from my guests telling me how amazing the food and venue and staff were. Many thanks to Martyn, his wife and all of the staff at the Kingshead i would definitely recommend anybody looking for a wedding venue to take a look at this venue. you wont be disappointed.
