I visited The New Inn today and last night. Was looking for a place that serves great food and I definitely wasn't disappointed. Last night I hadn't booked but they made room for me so thanks for that guys. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had the steak and real ale pie and it was superb. Excellent quality steak that melted like butter and there was plenty of it. Today I had the lamb shank with vegetables and lamb/mint gravy.....what can I say.... brilliant. Lamb just fell of the bone and great rich flavour. Compliments to the chef. Great selection of beers and I can see why you have to book. A must for anyone wanting a hearty meal, great surroundings and friendly staff. Prices were very good for the size of the meals.

My family and I visited the New Inn last Sunday and had a fantastic roast dinner. The pub is nice and welcoming with a lovely wood burner near the entrance. WE were shown to our table quickly and the food also arrived quickly. Be aware that the portions are BIG 🙂. Both the turkey and the lamb we had were fantastic, along with a good variety of veg. The staff were all very friendly and professional, we can't wait to return.

Iv had many meals at the new inn & never experienced a bad meal or bad customer service… I personally feel the staff go beyond the expectations of normal bar staff they are polite, constantly there if we need any more drinks or help! The food is delicious!! Big plates with lush tasting food! Couldn’t recommend this pub enough! The pub is clean with great decor. You can't fault the team here, always make you feel welcome. My Dad loves it here and hence we spend most of his birthday meals here. The only downside here is the portions here massive! Way to big for one person. No exaggeration, nobody on our table of 9 finished their entire meal, which is a shame as meant a huge amount of food waste. This makes me uncomfortable given the current situation when some families don't have enough food. Whilst I understand the owner doesn't want people going home hungry, there has to be a middle ground of just make the meals a little smaller, reduce waste, and costs of supplies and that leaves customers not feeling they've spent a lot of money on food they couldn't eat.

Popped in for some drinks with a visiting family member during the busy festive period. Lovely decorations for the time of year, polite, friendly and more than helpful staff members. Each Guiness was brought to the table instead of waiting at the bar. I will definitely be back for food on another occassion.

15th October 2022. I had a family/friends get together tonight for my 70th birthday. I can’t praise the staff highly enough. I think there was 27 of us in total. Went on a Tuesday evening and it was very quiet. Orders taken quickly. Meal sizes are very large and on hindsight I would probably of had a starter with a side and dessert. Food very good and delicious.

The outside space has been done up nicely. A great lively atmosphere. All staff are friendly. The steaks were cooked perfectly and we loved the giant chips. We felt safe and everything clean, as per covid regs. This was our first meal out and it was perfect. Thank you, we can't wait to come back.

The is a very good 'pub that does food'. No gastro signs here or retro refit or bland copycat shabby chic here. Traditional 20th century pub that serves very good food (with generous portion sizes) from a menu with a very good choice plus a specials board. Additionally, it has a separate gluten free menu covering 2 sides of A4 not just the odd token meal plus a separate vegetarian menu. Service remains efficient and friendly even when it gets busy (which is often - so book ahead if possible).

Avery nice pub and restaurant it is weird run has a good size car park a children's out door play area out door seating and a covered area so you can stay outside in to the evening the staff are very friendly and helpful and the food was great and I will certainly be going back soon

Six of us went here for a Christmas meal on Thursday evening. Everything was 5*. The restaurant was absolutely packed and the staff did an amazing job. All our food was excellent and the atmosphere was great. Thank you to everyone concerned for making it a truly memorable experience.

I love the food at The New Inn, it’s always of such a high quality and the portion sizes are perfect for someone like me who loves food... you definitely get your money’s worth. A lovely little pub with a garden area which is perfect to sit out in on a sunny summer afternoon / evening. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Sometimes it can get very busy as it’s a popular little place - once you’ve been there you will no doubt understand why... so if you’re going for food or for a special occasion I would recommend booking a table. A local gem!

Highly recommend! The manager was so helpful and accommodating to us. Last minute we had a group of almost 20 who had no where to go after a funeral as the service was cancelled at the church due to the storm, we phoned the new inn after a recommendation and with less than a hours notice they said they would be able to ensure we had somewhere to go. They made sure they had a room ready for us for when we got there and we’re so friendly, despite the circumstances we had a lush time and was able to have the family all together! Thank you so much.

Had a Sunday roast dinner, very happy with our meal, it was piping hot, seasonal veg & a choice of meats. You can have all meat for an extra charge. Although a little expensive compared to other pubs in the village, the service was exceptional, the staff are all very friendly & polite & the premises is clean. Would highly recommend.

Don't book a table for a party no bigger than 10 unless you don't mind being on separate tables. We were a party of 12 on one table and was so squashed in we had to eat with our arms tucked in like a T Rex...was quite uncomfortable.

Review update It's been four years since my last review. Since then, the pub has come under new management. It seems time for an update! TLDR: it's still a fine pub. It's possible that portion sizes may have grown, since my last visit, but the quality remains high. The wait staff get two thumbs-up 👍🏼👍🏼 for professionalism. I asked about local brews -- found myself preferring the Otter. It came in a custom pint glass, which was cute. With any luck, we'll eat there again this week and I'll remember to take fresh photos. Original post: I have experienced a pub or two in my day. This one is authentic, family friendly, and genuinely nice. The hosts are charming and good-natured. The building is properly aged (tres old!), while the beer and cider are properly fresh. The food. Ah, the food. Proper pub grub, but also tasty modern stuff. What more could I ask of a place? Outdoor seating? A small playground for the kids? Choice whisky selections? It's got all that. Thank you for being here.

Good, generously proportioned food that will leave you happy! There is also a full children's menu, lunch menu and gluten free menu (chips are also gluten free). On the inside, its a classic British pub, on the outside there is a sheltered gazebo with a dozen tables and chairs, an outdoor bar and open air seating as well. Staff very friendly and helpful, all were wearing masks inside and outside when we were there.

Superb meal at this wonderful establishment. Celebrated my wife's birthday with a midweek lunch, and the starters and mains were delicious. The portions of both starters and mains were more than generous, and well worth the price. Only one downfall ( not food or service related ), but there was a signage outside requesting that face should be worn until seated, which we quite understood and appreciated, but a table of 4 next to us obviously didn't want to adhere to this, and unfortunately, the staff didn't request that they did. ( They walked in without coverings, and walked around without coverings also!). I believe they may have been regulars, so probably went unchallenged. It did make us feel slightly uncomfortable!

Went for a steak night, the price has increased by around £4. £9 for 2 drinks! Garlic bread was a little stale and steak was quite thin. Over all a nice meal, quick service but won't be rushing back unfortunately.

We ordered Christmas day dinner from The New Inn, knowing that they always offer good food. However, we were worried the takeaway might not be the same, but we need not of worried. What an amazing service, meal and complete package! On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who had our food ready exactly on time for a pre booked slot, the bags of food just kept coming! We got it home and we were amazed how every detail had been thought of; crackers, breads, starters, mains, more gravy than even we could manage, desserts and drinks. We even had leftovers! All we want to say is a massive thank you, our expectations were completely surpassed and I would not hesitate to recommend The New Inn

Great menu. Very nice and well kept ales. The food is fantastic, but beware of the portions. This is not a negative, it's just that they're huge, so don't expect much room left at the end for dessert. We just had main courses, no starters, and were absolutely stuffed afterwards. Food is always great, decent size portions. Busy on evenings and weekends, would suggest booking a table if you want to eat after 7pm. Their sweet potato fries are some of the best I've ever had!!

Truly delicious food. I had the Rump steak, which was beautifully tender and cooked to perfection. I choose to have sweet potato fries that were lovely and crispy but soft on the inside. Really didn't need pudding but the choice was to good to miss out on altogether. So I had 2 scoops of ice cream - white chocolate and honeycomb and caramel fudge. Would happily eat it all again if there wasn't a risk of exploding. We were a group of 11 for midweek lunch, and we preordered our main courses which all arrived piping hot. No complaints from anyone. High recommended.

Went there again tonight after a year of lock down covid 19 scares, what an awful publican rude, abnoixus, a bully , reduced my sister to tears on her 60th birthday, will not be going there again until he leaves , left after 15 minutes all nine of us, so he lost out on about £300.00 , he though he was doing us a favour by going there , no mate we were doing you the favour, by bringing our money into your establishment , don't forget when you are rude to your patrons you will lose them , but do you no what he couldn't have cared less because he is so up his own backside , who ever has the lease on that place get rid of him.
