Lovely Coeliac friendly pub serving home cooked honest pub food. We had burgers (one GF chicken burger) fish and chips and moussaka.
Lots of Gluten Free dessert options too, the brownie and strawberry semifreddo being two we tried this time.
Nice friendly staff and atmosphere. Lovely views of the estuary and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

We decided to have Dinner at The Royal Inn while visiting Portishead.
The setting is exceptional as the restaurant is basically the home of a family from Cyprus. The view and outside sitting area is also amazing.
All staff were extremely kind and welcoming. The food was without a doubt very tasty and very high standard.
Ask the staff for recommendations on the food menu since everything is very nice. Don’t forget to try their desserts.
We will definitely be visiting again.

I love walking here either along the tree shaded road from Battery Point {looking at the fabulous houses clinging to the cliff edge... How the other half lives!} or from Portishead centre along the harbour. The Royal do a fantastic vegan burger and the staff are very helpful.

Great to be able to get lunch later in the day.
Lovely outside space with views of the sea.
Good beer selection.
Excellent service.
The star dish was definitely the brisket. Beautifully cooked and generous portion of meat.

Great selection of beers, including less well known brands which is nice to see. Food has been good on previous visits. Great in the summer with a location overlooking the estuary. Garden could do with a little something to make it more special, as it doesn't reach its maximum potential but still one of the best in town

Great setting and lovely food,
We had a great seat in the garden overlooking the sea.
Good excellent.
Only issue was a miserable lady behind the bar who lacked common courtesy and was not welcoming, almost begrudgingly served us.
Apart from that brilliant !

My first visit to the Royal with a friend and I highly recommend!
We were kindly accomodated with our pushbikes as we had an outside bench. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the benches were nicely spaced given the Covid situation and the place was clean and tidy with nice coastal views.
We both went for the vegan fish and chips as we were intrigued by the banana blossom, and it did not disappoint!! The banana blossom is a better choice imo than tofu, it had an amazing texture and the crispy batter was perfect, not too greasy 👌 also the mushy peas and tartare sauce were elite.
Great selection of pints aswell!

Nice roasts but not quite as they were 12 months ago. Chicken and pork a little dry and small portions. Smaller side of veg too to share between four and no creamed cauliflower (you now have to pay extra for it).
Service was good as always.

Excellent place for a drink and/or food, with wonderful views of the Severn and both bridges over to Wales. Great menu with lots of variety, especially gluten free options, recommend the fish and chips! friendly, welcoming and helpful staff at the Royal Inn.
