J. M.Feels like wetherspoon. It has one of the biggest back terrace in town. It's always nice to have a place where to drink a good Estrella Galicia... You should try it as well.

Mens toilets - tiles broken, dirty, faulty urinals, not what they were pre covid
Ladies toilets - on the surface you think wow but in actual fact there is blood on the walls of the cubicle, broken tissue dispensers, toilet paper on the floor, maintenance hatches open and the ladies toilet door propped open so the whole restaurant can see into the lavatory.
Seating area - disappointing.. pre-covid this was always well maintained but now tables are dirty with food leftovers/sticky so I would imagine not particularly covid safe.
Main area/bar area - dirty, unkempt. Tissue on the floor in several places, no tidy tables, no table stands for menus, sticky
Overall opinion- much improvement needed

B. S.My Daughter & I were going to a baby shower but arrived too early, so we went the Earnest Willows pub which is a Weatherspoons. We travelled about 50 miles and we were gasping for a cuppa. We were told we could help ourselves to free refills. We went to the Ladies and when we went through the door, I expected to see some toilets. It threw me because the room was full of sofas. Luckily another customer, came in after us and showed us to through some large glass doors. What a shock to see so many toilets on both sides
I've never seen so many toilets. Clean, smelling nice. The Lady said it used to be a night club. Well done to the Manager and all his staff, a really good experience was had. Try it for yourself.

C. C.Never been disappointed by this place. Giving the circumstances with the Covid, i have to mention that it is a Covid safe. One of the things that i could observe from my table,is that the staff been cleaning the entrance and exit door every half hour. There are clear intstructions to walk around the pub. Enough distance between the tables,separated with a plastic board and no children running around. Everybody enjoying their meal in a nice, quite and safe place.

J. R.Popular pub always seems busy when I go and I don't go there that often! Cheap food I've never had a problem always hot and tasty, however a friend I was with recently (15/2/18) had a chicken breast which was dry, she took it back and they apologised and cooked another one which looked to be a lot juicier. Can't say fairer than that. The Carling larger is always good here, keeps its head to the bottom of the glass. Prices good too.

I. M.The place has been thoroughly delightful for the eleven years I've been drinking there. The majority of the staff are young, naive poor sods who, almost without exception, put up with plenty, usually smiling throughout, and rightfully go on to far better things, as natural justice dictates. I say that through gritted teeth as regards some of them, but it's the truth. The clientèle's tedious and the food's basic. It's a 'Spoons. I love it.

The only reason it's not give stars is because my chicken burger was undercooked and I did not finish it (which is a health danger) but I'm assuming this is just my misfortune. Other wise I would recommend.
b. b.Lovely open area with cosy nooks around one side if you want a more intimate space to chat. I was interested by the history of E T Willows himself and had just been to find his grave at Cathay's cemetery, a 20 minute walk up the road. Probably someone needs to update the drinks menu with his photo on it as he didn't die at 20 as stated! As recorded on his gravestone he died at 40 and had had a remarkable life flying and building airships and barrage balloons.

H.I really like and look forward to having a couple of early pints at the Ernest willows and my partner and myself have enjoyed many a nice meal there, the pub is light and airy with plenty of room to sit down, sometimes getting served at the bar can be an issue especially when the staff are under pressure but in all fairness they do their best and all work so hard, a great pub👍it kills me when there is no abbot's ale😭
P. R.My favourite pub/restaurant in Cardiff! I've been going here ever since the millennium... Mixed crowd & mostly local community, there's care, laughter & regular faces which makes it warm to walk in and out of.
Staff are usually top notch! If their not, I've noticed they don't last long till the next bubbly & warm person comes along. The chef's care about the food they present & it's fresh!
Love the fact their food price range is affordable & with some more dearer items for fancy crowd... Definitely keeps locals in mind... ! I could have dinner there & easily return for breaky hehe...
I always bring my Cardiff visitors here at least once... 😍🤗 Glad the pub is keeping Late Ernest Willows' name up😍😘

J. H.Staff friendly, prices cheap, however could not believe a large chain cannot afford to purchase spoons. Being served deserts, custard, ice cream etc and given a fork as their spoons have gone missing. REALLY!!!

P. G.A Wetherspoons pub which is better than I remember it from the last time I was there. Still full of elderly, mainly blokes, reminiscing and office workers coming in to clog up the bar at lunchtime. They do a nice breakfast and since the introduction of the Wetherspoons app I no longer need to even speak to the surly barstaff.

M. N. U.This is a nice Wetherspoons and the vast majority of the staff are very friendly and unlike other Wetherspoons they don't tend to start trying to kick you out five seconds after last orders! The food is typical Wetherspoon's fare and tends to be okay (sometimes it lets it down and often it is very good). The customers are an okay bunch of people. All in all I would say it is a very good Wetherspoons, probably one of the nicest.

R.This used to be my local, staff are friendly but the reason for not awarding full points is because there isn’t enough staff there and it can get busier than the Central which is part of the same chain the difference is the Central would actually cope. But the food is delicious and my fav here is their Pizza.

The 2nd time was because I was rather peckish and for once whether spoons food was actually appetising. It's was cosy and there was a nice outdoor seating.

R. B.Ok so it's a Weatherspoon's so beer is reasonable and food reliable if similar to everything you ever drank or ate in a Weatherspoon's ever. The loos are a joy of course even found a fiver on the floor once. Has lost points recently for removing what was a great selection of draft ale. They have also gated off the beer garden which makes me feel trapped (might be just me).

T. R.This Wetherspoons is just down the road from me. I last took my lil one there for a giant chicken nugget (it was a breaded chicken breast) on chicken night and I had a peri peri quarter roast chicken (that has to be a record for the most times I've ever written the word chicken in one sentence.) Decent food, cheap drinks, nice quiet place to work or study and the toilets - oh my days, how grand! Seriously, take a visit just to see the ladies toilets.
