Nice warm atmosphere, friendly staff in modern surroundings. Great pub, with even better prices for drinks. Highly recommend a visit.
C. K.
I had a pint of the Rev James Ale from Brains Brewery and the small plate of fish and chips. Everything was decent as well as the service so no complaints here.

A M A Z I N G!
We come from London on a day trip and found this gem of a pub. Came in with my puppy and I ordered the most amazing vegan burger. Very clean, really nice and friendly staff... Definitely coming back to this place next time I visit Cardiff ❤️
S. D.
I popped in here for some food, there didn’t seem to be a large number of pubs which allowed dogs in the centre of Cardiff (I might be wrong). The staff were incredibly helpful and brought out not just a big bowl of water but also a bowl brimming with dog treats. They were gone in about 10 seconds! Food for humans was really good too, great burger, just the right amount of sauce and chips were lovely. Very quick and friendly service too. A real port in a storm on a wet and cold June evening. I’ll be back when I’m in Cardiff. Highly recommended.
S. H.
Large pub over 2 floors. Decent pub food. Friendly efficient staff. Cheaper than some in the area. A decent selection of beers and lagers. A good place to watch the football/ sport to be honest with multiple screens showing various things at the same time. Pool table upstairs. What more do you want
S.
Nice pub. Busy, with friendly staff and good value beers. Good selection.
S.
Stopped in on our first day in the area ended up our most visited pub by the end of the weekend. Great beer selection and great food. Great on match days, managed to watch the game with abit of atmosphere.
K. J.
City centre location. Plenty of tables & seating over 2 floors. Good pub menu & fairly priced. Great selection of drinks. Fast service. Pleasant & helpful staff
K. B.
Super busy! Reserve a table using the app before going. Really enjoyed the atmosphere of this pub.
Nice fish and chips (although the chips were probably frozen and not fresh) and cod and chips.
Stops serving food at 2200

When we re-visited Cardiff, we also headed back to this pub. And we still love it. The staff is amazing, the food is still great (although my favourite dish from last time sadly doesn't exist anymore), and it's great for a nice evening in Cardiff!
J. B.
My siblings and I have been going to this place every 2 weeks ish and every single time we went, the staff are incredibly friendly and relatively fast service. It's a place we call our regular, the atmosphere is welcoming, drinks are nice and karaoke night on Saturdays.
J.
Good for a quick bite and a drink. The food was great and the staff friendly. No long waits and could have spent the whole day.
L. C.
We came for a staff night out on Sunday and had a fab time. Food was served very quickly and the staff were efficient and happy to help with all our requests. Defo recommend!
A. L.
Great beer selection and loads of seating both indoors and out. Good food and friendly staff. Reasonably priced for the capitol too.
K. F.
Very Polite & Welcoming Staff, Very Clean and Spacious venue, good knowledge of App & booking process, Kitchen staff were rude to Bar Staff, Guidelines in Place, Good Venue for Live Sports, Food & Drinks, Excellent Selection of Drinks on Sale

Lovely bar, and a great atmosphere. Very reasonably priced drinks, and excellent service. 10/10, will get merry here again!

We had a meal earlier and the young man named adnan was so helpful when it came to my mrs’s meal as we told him that she needed gluten free meal and he straight up went on the till to check what is gluten free and after we choose what she wanted he went to the kitchen to double check that it is gluten free, we have never received service like this in any pub that we’ve been to before, very well done, as well as all the staff with a great smile tidy place will definitely come back
R. C.
Lovely big pub, lots of outdoor space, lots of indoor space. Always have a drink or a meal(lovely food too!) here, everytime we're in town, it's great for people waching!
T. P.
Absolutely loved it! Just normal great Welsh atmosphere! I am glad that we landed here today! Good prices and a large option of food for vegetarians or not! Kids meals and proper Welsh beer 🍺! Professional service and clean! Good to see the rugby or football or other sports. Big enough for large events. We’re booking one for sure. Sunday afternoon found free parking and walked to here.
c.
Great pub! food was very good and reasonably priced, had a chip shop supper whilst my friend had the sausage and mash, both had a few Erdinger Weissbiers too, great environment amd lovely staff

We had a wonderful time celebrating my sisters birthday on

Great atmosphere nice meal but when we used the ladies toilet's quite a few of the seats are broken
L. B.
Overall great little pub. Probably need to be more prepared for big crowds coming in to the city.
R. A.
Nice environment. My first pub in Cardiff and good selection of beers
R. A. d. R.
The food is really good. Everything very equilibrated.
The environment is amazing. The drinks too!
B. M.
Great pub, watched the rugby on big screens. Best burger I've had in a while. Only criticism was much too loud, deafening TV commentary, sort that and it's full marks.
J. P.
To be fair. This was my first day out since pre covid. I was with my work family. We sat outside and I basically drank pitcher after pitcher while watching Wales get beaten by Denmark. Eventually I tried to order another and the guy told me I'd had enough. I had to agree with him. I don't remember much after that. Great service, friendly staff. Will definitely go there again
K. O.
Reasonable priced drinks and food in a comfortable atmosphere..loads of TV to watch sport etc...light and airy and service friendly and efficient. Always a great place to relax and enjoy few drinks or lunch...
C. J.
Good selection of beer but bar attendant was more concerned about matching the glasses to the drink. Only wanted a pint and a half - took 15 mins because of the glass searching! OK pub otherwise.
L. H.
Bad day 2call after rugby match n storm no foid delivery recieved on Friday so pickings scarce. Will have 2 call again. No prices on drink taps so shudav been aware pint of Tenby bitter 5 pounds extortionate 3 pounds 4a half of Moretti daylight robbery 🥴🙃😠
T. C.
Amazing range of drinks. Toilets are upstairs and there are a range of tables up and downstairs
C. B.
Excellent venue to watch sport. Loads of screens showing different games and sports simultaneously. Place is a tardis. Great selection of drinks.
D. H.
Good place to have a drink but does get full on football or rugby match days, which is to be expected. Good range of drinks
S. G.
Great food sensible prices friendly helpfull staff definitely go back
L. B.
Had a cooked breakfast before the rugby game. Place was very busy. Could have benefitted from having a few more staff serving.
S. H.
Food was nice but few items missing on the menu but understandable due to covid etc, good service and friendly staff
m. w.
Lovely food, had to wait 20mins to get in,but it was a sunny Saturday, can't fault the place.
G. e.
Good atmosphere Good food and good service Will visit again for sure
R. M.
Excellent service great food, the staff was very curtious and polite.
Would definable go again.
N. H.
Very pleasantly surprised by the clean, fresh, attractive interior. Friendly staff, good service, not a 5 star as my breakfast (otherwise great) came with the strangest bacon ever (suspect it was veggie, which is fine, but if a substitute I would have preferred to have been told).
Will go back
Second visit and hurrah, real bacon!
s. w.
Nice pub/sports bar.
Friendly staff.
Good prices
h.
So many screens showing different events. Great pub if you want to watch some sport with great atmosphere and a beer
d. s. d.
Very nice pub, service was excellent, very polite staff, and good food.
A. P.
Nice beer and lovely food. I'll be back for Rammstein 😊
A. G.
Nice pub, sat and had a burger on the outside tables. Staff were pleasant but ordering for a large group was difficult, we were supposed to use an app but we couldn't get it to work. The burger was delicious but be aware of the seagulls. Owain Glyndwr was a Welsh leader fighting for independence in 1400. I'm not sure it's relevant but an interesting fact that shouldn't deter English tourists from a tasty burger.
S. H.
Great food and atmosphere. We opted for the build your own plank which is the British equivalent of tapas I guess. Loved the little picky bits of food and all tasty!
j. j.
Expensive an not alot of choice for kids service was good an staff
A. W.
Drinks Resonable, Some Good Deals On Meals And Friendly Staff.
E. C.
Lovely traditional Sunday dinners (lamb or beef) and very friendly staff. Clean and comfortable, good atmosphere.
J.
This place is very popular.
We stopped for a breakfast which was very good value foroney. Clean loo reached by stairs hence four stars.
Friendly staff.
S. W.
Many food items , missing off the menu ...we ordered two courses which arrived together...!!!
I ordered a medium rare rump steak with two eggs... only had one egg and my steak was over cooked..
If it wasn't for my wonderful starter of onion rings and prompt service, I would have dropped my rating..
Sharpen up your act OG..
N. D.
A good place to taste English food. Quality and quantity guaranted. Just one bad point, if the waiters were smily and helpful, the waitress was really not!
m. B.
Lovely place popped in today for lunch with our dog freddie and they really made us welcome, also give a bowl of water to freddie. Will diffenaly pop in again soon
j. W.
Popped in here for a meal whilst out shopping in Cardiff. Very nice food, no issues. All covid measure were in place so felt quite safe. We used the outdoor seating which was lovely as it was a beautiful day. Would definitely recommend
A. P.
Nice Pub to watch a rugby game and then have some fun while your friends are doing Karaoke
G. R.
Outdoor seating area great for people watching in a busy city centre.
a.
Great selection of drinks. Bit hectic ordering on the app but that's not the staff's fault
S. H.
Always call into this pub in the centre of Cardiff for great food and even a coffee, with outside seating
l. l.
Good selection of reasonable food and has a children's menu plenty of seating inside.
J. H.
Plenty of room..cheaper drink, relaxed surroundings....proper pub bang in middle of the city
J. L.
The pub was absolutely rammed and tables not cleared, had to clear own table to be able to get food
S. M.
This place has recently become my local with a few of my friends. The staff are always friendly and up for a chat. My friend has food allergies and they always goes above and beyond to help! Food is great and all round a comfortable atmosphere to be in :)
In terms of covid - easily has the best system I've seen!
K. G.
Called in for something to eat before a concert. Had the steak, it was cooked perfectly (rare) and tasted divine!
Friendly staff and a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.
A. L.
Great atmosphere and service, good selection of drinks too.
J. R.
Nice bar with pool table upstairs and exceptionally good for watching sports. Very near the castle
F. D.
Love dogs so it's a winner. Food and water for them before the owners!!
S. B.
A nice little pub in The centre of Cardiff. Had lunch at a reasonable price. Nothing really stands out but the service was good
E. S.
Great pub for sport, plenty of TV's and screens. We had a good lunch, served quickly via the new APP to order. Visited during Covid so the number of people inside was not as busy as I'm sure it can be, but had a good atmosphere. Prices were good for a city centre location.
E. B.
Big pub, busy bar, food was ok,nothing to write home about. Maybe serve it hot, not lukewarm, may help. On the plus side, bar staff were very nice
A. H.
Rugby Day! Came for drinks before the game, it was really busy with a great atmosphere. Will be back.
D. H.
Decent sports bar showing multiple sports/games - clean, tidy and a fair price.
S. D.
Nice atmosphere and helpful staff. Would recommend a visit
M. S.
It was busy but I was served quickly.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
G. T.
Good atmosphere, but a little loud, showing my age maybe 😜
A. M.
Fab food, and a great pint, all at a reasonable price... What more could you ask...
L. O.
Beer was great plenty of choice food was good
T. G.
Food hot and delicious staff very helpful and friendly and ideal location
L. E.
Lovely lunch, polite staff, great first visit
N. B.
Great atmosphere on game day. Tables cleaned down after use and staff constantly collecting glasses. Also serve food and have disco & karaoke.
D. C.
Usual chain type pub...reasonable selection of beer, food is reasonable, staff are friendly & efficient. The place has plenty of TV's around so if you want to watch a game, have some beers & snacks, this is a decent place to do it.
The only problem with the place is the "My Pub" app you need to use to order...it is by far the worst app I have ever come across!
I have around 6 apps on my phone for pubs, restaurants & cafés and have used quite a few more & this is the worst one I've come across, by a long way.
Sort the app out (or better still, get a new one) & I'd give this pub 5*.
K. O.
Adnan was a polite helpful and pleasant young man and very efficient and a very nice disposition
l. m.
Great place. Table service only. Friendly knowledgeable staff . Great beer.
D. C.
Busy due to the rugby crowd, good atmosphere, very enjoyable.
M. K.
Everything was as I would expect. Nice and friendly service, well done. I really felt like they've looked after us. Food was okay, but no "Wow" factor. Nevertheless, nothing was wrong so they've deserved maximum score. Thanks!
R. F.
Limited menu, still friendly nice food well worth a look at.
d. s.
Lovely spot. Great upstairs. Can't fault the Welsh for hospjtality
S. C.
One off Cardiff's best known family meal breaks. Good value and got to say service is top notch.
P. H.
Great pub with a great atmosphere. Loved their selection of beers and staff were friendly. I will be going back soon!!
G. O.
Top place to meet. Reasonable prices food/drink..
A. C.
Hannah Evie and Jake have done such a fantastic job this evening. I’m sure that promoting them will be difficult since they all deserve it. Thank you again for such a great service.
N. L.
Lovely food, atmosphere, service.
K. ,.
Good pub grub and very busy
L. S.
Great atmosphere, lots of (silent) sports screens and 80s music playing on our Friday night visit. Food was great. Staff friendly, but mostly ordered on app.
R. W.
Borderline obnoxious staff. Meh food. Fair beer prices.
D. C.
Nice friendly pub good food and beer
k. d.
Cosy little stop off for a reasonably priced drink food smelled good but no capacity to order as busy due to Christmas bookings
S. L. (. C.
Nice little pub in the middle of the city. Good selection of drinks, reasonably priced. Outdoor seating was good as it was a nice day.
a. b.
Nice city center pub ,great choice of drinks and food, friendly staff ,we had food which was OK. Have had better and a lot worse so I suppose average would do.
G. H.
Great atmosphere, during Wales football game, away. Am not a regular here, but the staff were very welcoming, security/covid regulations were very well organised. Will hopefully come here again in the future :-)
J. T.
Fantastic bar in a great location. Excellent choice of drinks available and wonderfully friendly staff.
A huge recommendation if you are ever in Cardiff.
P. D.
Loads of drinks options, not tried food so can't comment but this is an amazing pub, great for sports.
D. W.
Good value, dog friendly and attentive staff. Will be back!
P. K.
Good place to take a break and eat, drink few pints
g. f.
Great service as always and a great pint too !!
G. B.
Food was very nice, staff were very friendly and the football was showing on one of the many screens 😁 Only downside was menu was reduced due to shortage of deliveries.Ideally situated and I would recommend it.
D. F.
Spent last Friday evening here...very covid safe and staff from doorman to bar staff were amazing. Nothing was to much trouble for them...big shout out to our bartender who served us all night Keiran....what a star was so polite and amazing friendly service. Defo recommend xx
s. r.
This is a lovely pub in the heart of Cardiff. Was looking for somewhere to escape the busyness of the city on a Saturday afternoon and incredibly this place has lots of space. Food and drink is reasonably priced and the seem to always have some form of sport on the TVs dotted around. Will be coming back to try one of their huge oar sharing platters.
J. S.
One of my favourite Cardiff Central pubs - spacious, good booze and decent food options
S. D.
Good day enjoyed the Christmas market and lunch in the pub Owain Glyndwr
M. S.
A traditional pub with a lovely atmosphere. My husband enjoyed his few pints in here, and location was great in the centre of Cardiff.
L. H.
Great pub. We looked around a bit in the area at other pubs and decided to give this one a try for some mid afternoon snacks and pints. Frankly, our expectations were low and after seeing a lot of other local pubs packed wondered why this one was so empty; however, our experience far exceeded our expectations.
The wings with the American buffalo sauce were spot on. I have eaten wings all over the world and always seek them out. The sauce in these wings was excellent and the wings were well prepared, not over cooked.
We also had the mini fish and chips which were excellent.
Beer selection was very good. While I am no expert on Welsh beers, I found a couple that were easy to drink and tasty.
Also the staff were friendly and helpful.
I would certainly recommend visiting if you get a chance.
K.
Fab bar fab staff fab atmosphere. A rugby weekend winner
B. J.
My first time at the Owain Glyndwr and they were so good - the drinks were served so quickly on the app! Sophie and Jimmy were fantastic and we felt right at home!
I. D.
Lovely pub. Good beer, excellent food.
j. g.
Great atmosphere
Staff we're so friendly and the drinks were good.
K. W.
Atmosphere good friendly staff. Food nice. Comfy area if you just want a quite drink
A. H.
Good proper pub, friendly helpful staff, lots of screens for sports over 2 levels. Decent prices.
J. A.
Maybe I was unlucky & maybe on a Wednesday after Christmas there isn't enough staff. Watching the football on loads of TVs (great) only to wait 5 minutes for someone to be behind the bar, for then not to be served as I was at 'the wrong end of the bar' to then be 'ushered' up to the middle of the bar by the barman (don't think I'm blaming him for being rude he was on his own) I decided to go elsewhere. Great TV for sport. Need more staff....on a Wednesday after Christmas!!
H. K.
Good simple food. Good staff. Terrible pint. Why can’t management teach their staff how to pull a pint of Guinness. Good God....it’s not rocket science😂even is Irish ☘️ can do it. All it needs is a bit of patience. And tables.... why do we always have to stick to them🤣🤣a bit of fairy liquid every now and again. Hi! Do ya follow me! Ha!
S. E.
Fabulous pint of rev James and great food
O. L.
Really nice pub, outside seating, table service via the app. Nice pub food. Lovely hanging baskets outside. Good customer service
a. i.
We watched the match in massive big screens .nice place with good food just around the corner from Cardiff castle.
H. E.
Amazing food xxx
Very quick service xxx
J. S.
Food was great and good value too (deal of the day). Had issues when I asked for no mayo in a burger (partner gets quite sick from it) but they changed it immediately, they were super apologetic, and the girl who served us was super polite and helpful especially when sorting the mix up. Didn't give full marks because of initial mix up, and might seem petty but there was a drink spilled when we arrived, and it wasn't cleaned up by the time we left (over an hour) - it just had a cone placed on it, and it took a while of standing alone at the bar to get served (even though it was quiet when we arrived). Otherwise nice place though.
G. J.
It was okay, but currently they were limited with food because they had a new chef who wouldn't cook nachos.
L. F.
Only stopped in for a quick drink. Staff were friendly and quickly showed to a table. If sitting outside nees to use an app to order and pay.
r. h.
food was good ,service a little slow , we did us the app , which ok, but probably faster to order at the bar.
c. r.
Great bar. Great staff
J. “.
It was nice here and very friendly. We did eat here but what i had my veg was hard but overall we enjoyed it.
T. S.
Came in on a Saturday afternoon and then again on Saturday night (we pre booked a table) the changes they have made to adapt to the covid guidelines are excellent. Very clean and public area constantly being cleaned. Staff were great. Would definitely go back
L. W.
Nice bar. Tad bit unclean but minor.
M. J.
Great environment, not overly busy despite being a Saturday. The food was delicious and generous in portions without being OTT. The service was fast and friendly and as I said the food for a pub was a cut above most other pub offerings. Drinks were expensive especially the wine at over £18 for two glasses and a pint of lager.
S. R.
Good food and service, one chef called in sick and the solo guy still knocked up a great burger in quick time.
a. b.
Went here for food, really nice atmosphere, great food, cold pint, what else would you want?
S. D.
We thought we'd give this place a go as their menu looks interesting with plenty of choice and at a reasonable price. We waited around half an hour for food, and everyone enjoyed. The portions were very generous, nobody could clear their plate and we do have large appetites. I was a little disappointed they don't have an OAP menu, so my mum had to order a children's meal. The deserts were lovely, but the member of staff who took my order missed off an ice cream, and when I asked if it would be long I was made to feel like it was my mistake instead of the staff's. I didn't find the staff very friendly, even going up to order it seemed like I was bothering them. So unfortunately we didn't feel very welcomed.
C. O.
Was with family (two boys 9 and 11). Lots of food to choose from. Quick lunch time service. Great service and very friendly servers who answered our tourist questions. I would go again. Also noticed the patience staff demonstrated with other guests who didn't speak English.
M. S.
It was OK at best. Good selection of beers but I cannot abide queuing 10 minutes for a drink when only one out of 3 available bar staff are serving. To be honest I should have left and headed to a properly run pub. There are plenty in Cardiff.
k. b.
Nice clean friendly pub all round.
Plenty of t.v's for sports. Friendly staff.
C. K.
Had a very enjoyable evening and meal there. Ordered chicken curry which was a bit like having school dinners and was expensive for what I got
J. H.
Nice cup of coffee, staff very helpful.
A long way to the loos mind. But still a lovely pub to visit 😊👍🏼
E. E. F. F.
Large pub located in the center of Cardiff. This is the perfect place to enjoy a good pint of beer or cider, or eat something. The service is outstanding. Good prices. On Tuesdays they offer two for one promotion, on all hamburgers. A recommended pub without a doubt.
C. O.
My apologies from the table that came in at 7th Friday at 5pm. First time meeting theses people and they were incredibly disrespectful to the woman severing us and in general. Felt so bad. Very greatful for her serving us. Wonderful place. Will come back again.. with respectable people who know how to behave.
R. H.
Great atmosphere and staff. Recommended highly. God food and drink
S. T.
Always a great welcome and food is lovely. Great pint of Guinness.
M. L.
This pub very good location in the city of Cardiff. It's has two bars plus good for sky sports.
J. B.
Stopped in for a quick drink. Like many of the pubs in Cardiff it has a good variety of nice lagers and pale ales. Service was a bit slow but otherwise everything was as good as the competition.
G. B.
Great atmosphere, even though covid, had banging night
J. s.
Big spacious pub and awesome unique pub food if you need variety
s. M.
Went into the Owain before the Wales Scotland match, I have never drank out of a 2 pint mug, fantastic idea so you don't have to keep going to the bar. Clean, lots of security there but they were friendly. Good place.
I. G.
Very nice place with the tipycal welsh pub accent. Great ambient in the rugby matches but as well any night. The food is nice . Totally recommend it.
P. T.
First time in and will be back great atmosphere really roomy pub one of Cardiff's finest.
L. S.
Nice but they don't do food until noon.
C. S.
Food was lovely & set up was good with covid 19 until the food came out. Unfortunately our table was right outside the kitchen so as plates were brought out the food was going over our heads!! Shame for us but otherwise nice...
N. W.
I would like to give 3 1/2 stars. Pleasant pub with nice interior and spaced out seating. Prams etc would not be an issue. Not sure if there is a disabled loo. Not much for veggies or vegans. Lunch time menu avaliable. Smoothies are nice. Cheap for the 3 of us. Looks clean inside. Mash is a bit dry, could do with a bit more butter and not the warmest meal. However I will try again as this is 1st time here
R. S.
Nice atmosphere drinks pricey, even for town
S. J.
Very helpful young lad on the door helping us with trace and tracking. We are older but he had the patience of a Saint. Thank you.
P. T.
Nice pint good food and we had a seat. Great
J. F.
Used to visit the pub many years ago when down watching the football or rugby and it was really nice. Decided to pop in while visiting with family, 15 years later, and was surprised how neglected it feels. Family members complained about the state of the toilets. Decided not to try the food, as some of it didn't look appetising but the selection of ales and beers was vast. It's a shame as it was a nice pub to visit.
C. H.
Nice location and good to people watch outside. Good range of drinks and especially gin! Reason for lower rating is terrible service at the bar... I thought I was invivisble as server after server went to people who had just arrived ahead of me. I was VERY close to walking out. I was not the only person to experience this.
K. R.
Awsome place!
R. B.
Excellent food at excellent prices. Staff very attentive and premises well organised for clients covid protection.
Many thanks. Will return
R. S.
Great place to come and enjoy a couple of drinks or some reasonably priced food.
They have a wide selection of craft beers both on keg and cask, normally supporting local brewers.
Food menu is reasonable and better than expected so give it a shot, although some items can be out of stock hence the missing fifth star.
It does have some outside space during the day but can be quiet cramped and obviously a fair few smokers.
R. D.
Good selection of craft beers and various shorts (gin, whisky, vodka etc)
Food is also quite good and good value for portion size.
Definitely worth a trip if you're in the city.
B. P.
Took us 25 mins to get in with the que and corvid issues.
Food was over priced.
Small portions.
No value for money at all.
Fish,12 chips, halfa spoon full of frozen peas, and some curry, nearly £12.
Two pints of dark fruits and a coke £11
J. B.
Not my favourite pub in Cardiff.
It's quite popular though so I'd definitely check it out and maybe you'd find what people find so attractive about it.
Anyway, it's quite a large pub with both an upstairs and a downstairs. It's got a pretty cool decor and occasionally I hear live performances in there.
G. H.
Staff were great and the food was lush. Really liked the range of beers and I don’t think I have ever seen a gin selection like it!! Awesome job!! Will be back I am sure.
J. C.
Reasonable place to drink and watch sports. Drinks can be bought by the pint or in a bigger 2 pint glass which is perfect for not missing too much of a sports game that might be on the projector upstairs. Especially nice place to go when Cardiff Christmas Market is on as it is literally on the pub's door step.
X. L.
Really enjoy the fish&chip and baked aubergine here. Tasty and only cost for 15 pounds. It's a little bit noisy at night which made me hard to enjoy the background music, but it's fun. Highly recommend to anyone who want to experience a typical Welsh bar.
S. L.
We visited for Ed Sheeran concert and made a weekend of it. Friendly staff and lovely food, even when they were really busy they were very attentive!! Didn't get his name but the guy with the impressive beard was on the bar on his own the whole time we were there and was a superstar....fair play to him!!
K. E.
Were in here after the rugby and had a fantastic time. Everyone was very friendly and most of the staff were fantastic at their job. They did however run out of Edinburgh Gin and most other craft Gin. The one young guy with the football top on that served me a few times was useless. My other complaint was I thought it was a free house but it cost £1 entry.
More disturbingly however, I witnessed the plastic glasses that were being issued being collected and put through the dish washer to be reused. At which point we left.
T. K.
Nice pub. Lots of space and outdoor seating and good selection of ales
J. A. (.
Great venue with friendly staff. Had a good sized area reserved for us. Couldn't have been more accommodating. Only reason i drop a star was a ordered the tikka masala large. Sadly the portion of curry was rather on the small side and rather dry. Rest of the meal was fab and so was everyone else's food.
M. L.
A busy pub in the centre of Cardiff, a fairly big ground floor with seating and good size bar.
There is an upstairs section too with its own bar (if open) toilets, and screens for sports etc.
Prices aren't too bad and it's popular so must be doing something right.
V. G.
Great food, relaxed atmosphere and very reasonable prices. In a good location for shopping at St. David's, Cardiff Castle and not too far from the stadium either. They were even giving everyone iced water, which was lovely in the heat!

Just stop to have a quick bite to eat, very nice and good value. Staff very welcoming.
J. S.
It's a city center pub so there isn't much more to say. Beer options are poor, clientele questionable and the bar staff less than helpful. But if nothing else is an option or you aren't that particular it'll do for a quick drink if you are walking past. If you've got the time, though, walk about 500 meters further to Womanby Street and you've got Tiny Rebel or the City Arms.

Nice change to afternoon shopping in cardiff
P. M.
Good lunchtime menu. Cheap and cheerful. Had 2 courses for £10.50. Food was good for the price. Plenty of seating available up and down stairs. Quick service with polite and friendly staff. Good beer selection too
j. w.
The pub was busy as it was the Tunisia England World Cup games yet we still find seats together on the bar staff friendly and quick at their job.
I like the idea of table service the waitress would take our order and either bring a card machine or appropriate change back to our table making the process very easy.
My only two gripes were that firstly the lime and soda had very little lime cordial in it at all and even after asking for more it has barely changed colour and only just tasted of lime. We were told that they must put just the regulatory amount in at first pouring even though I had previously asked for more lime, my next drink was still made with the original minimalist amount requiring me to ask for extra again.
Secondly, there were no clear visible signs of any toilets disabled or otherwise downstairs on the lower level the only notice and Direction given to toilets where to take the stairs to the upstairs bar and walk all the way across to the far corner, this was a very difficult and painful task for myself who suffers with chronic arthritis in both of my knees it did result in the rest of my evening being distracted due to my high level of pain as a direct result of having to negotiate the stairs.
M. B.
lovely food and nice staff
A. R.
Very nice atmosphere. Cool place to sit and watch a game. Not too loud and you can still converse but also quite a bustling place. Service was okay. Food was good at a reasonable price.
T. F.
Very centrally located. Went for the Wales Vs Italy rugby. The atmosphere was fun and they coped pretty well with the crowds of punters. They have a nice array of beers.
A. M.
Meal was delicious! Outdoor seating was nice too.
T. G.
Stopped off in the Owain Glyndwr before a Wales International, a busy bar but great atmosphere.
Alot of space inside so even if its really pack you can find a pocket of space to enjoy you drink.
Reasonably priced, definitely recommended stopping off for a quick pint if you on the way to the game.
Z. K.
Not a bad Pub. food was good but we ordered some extra side chips that came out before the rest of the food and within a minute of ordering and were soggy, so obviously not cooked to order. Other than that nice place, good atmosphere and friendly staff
I. F.
Great atmosphere during the rugby and you can always find somewhere to watch the match. Decent selection of beer, decent layout and great location in town.
K. W.
Not too busy. Quick service at the bar. Even found some free tables on a Saturday afternoon.
E. 1.
Quick service, lots of screens for sports. Gets very cosy and crowded when there's a big match on, but that's to be expected. Toilets were clean, but I'm not sure what the pub would be like in daylight hours with no matches.
L. W.
A Good Sports bar with Decent Ales
J.
Staff are nice and atmosphere is good. Food not so much. Asked for chips and got fries and chef can't tell the difference between a Spanish and a red onion.
L. T.
Lovely pub in the heart of Cardiff. It's got 2 for 1 lunch deals and the food is really good! Very spacious and with reasonable prices.
R. G.
Once you've got the hang of the app it's ok. The Cardiff locals can be quite entertaining though.
P. P.
Omg! The food is great and the chocolate fudge cake is amazing. I would recommend going for anyone. * Get the cake if you like your life 😂🤣*
M. W.
One of Oldest Pubs (1731) in Cardiff, just pity that interiors been refurbished. But, nevertheless is a good spot for Welsh 'pintie' in really decent prices. Beer garden with busy Centre streets views included.
K. O.
This Pub has been here in Cardiff since as long as I can remember. Had some really fun nights out here. It now serves food as well as being a pub. Which is lovely and very reasonable. Fully recommend the Owain Glandwr.
E. L.
Great staff lovely food gd atmosphere couldn't be beaten......
J. P.
Great atmosphere and a great place to watch sports with a good beer selection however the two times we have been here the food has been pretty poor. So much so I have had to return food due to the dryness of it. Shame really.
C. W.
Very slow bar service at peak times, but excellent staff and faultless effort regardless. Really good deals on the foods, such as 4 or 5 sides for £10-£12.
H. D.
The 2 for 10.50 meals were good but not huge, price for a pint of coke not terrible either, and the staff were very nice. Football on the telly was very loud for those of us not watching it!
R. M.
Wales' answer to an Irish Tavern, good service and atmosphere abound. Loses points for the price of drinks, but in city centre, its not unreasonable. I will return to the Owain Glyndwr
N. L.
This was such an historic and popular pub for many years and it's such a shame to see its obvious decline. Makes the worst Wetherspoons you've ever been in look like the Ritz, rough joint, such a shame, staff are pleasant, clientele awful
C. P.
Friendly staff and a nice drink
L. H.
It's a pub in Cardiff city centre it's not a bad or good place to go it's just there if your passing pop on and make up your own minds for me it's nothing special at all, but the regulars of which there are a lot of pissheads and many in number.
V. P.
One of my long time favorite pubs in Cardiff - great atmosphere, fair prices (unless some teenage band plays in town), sports events on big screens, good food and close to anything downtown!
P. S.
Nice pub , was very busy
N. K.
Really nice pub with modern decor. Great for watching sports as there's plenty of screens to see. Good priced drinks and even has Rekorderlig on tap!
B. N.
A busy atmosphere. Breakfast range was good and tasty. The unlimited refill coffee made our breakfast last a long time....
C. G.
Food was nice. Choose to sit outside, because 9f the lovely weather, and was harassed a few times by beggars, whilst trying to eat. Although not the establishments fault, it did affect the overall experience.
d. r.
Good bar with tvs and sports on, food was good and staff friendly
D. M.
Good beer all the sports channels smart interior most enjoyable experience
s. M.
Sticky floor, £9.75 for half a lager and a double gin and lemonade, one drink was plenty. Nice staff, but if there was a promotion to be had, I wasn't made aware.
Still can't work out the price, maybe £2.50 for the half? Which is ridiculous but anyway, that leaves £7.25 for the double gin and lemonade, 3 quid a shot plus 1.25 for a splash of lemonade, by my maths that means you do one next time I'm in the area.
S. T.
Can get very busy but still managed to get a table and a drink quickly. It's a bit cramped inside and a lot of tables are thrown about anywhere and don't have much of a concise pattern.
Other than that, it's your standard.
R. M.
It's a bit soulless as a pub but they were playing all the weekends sporting events on TVs throughout the venue - tennis, rugby and f1 were all being watched in various corners of the pub. My only complaint would be that they didn't have any volume on any of the events and it may have benefitted from thia given how quiet it was on the Sunday afternoon we went
M. K.
Nice atmosphere. Food is okay but should be served at a higher temperature. Corona Virus precautions are good.
J. S.
If we had gone to pillars this morning as originally planned but they were shut as it was Easter Sunday we would never have come here.
It is another Yates's and has the standard Yates offerings which are acceptable.
Lesson is it's often the case that not getting your own way is a good thing as it can open up doors that wouldn't have opened if you had got things your way!
If you got everything your way life would be predictable and boring and you would never get new opportunities that wouldn't have opened had everything gone your way!
K. D.
Great atmosphere on match day
D. R.
Love this place. Food great, service good. Outside seating too.
P. W.
If you're in Cardiff when Wales are playing at the Milennium Stadium, then this is one of the places to be to watch the match! Packed to the doors pre-match, but the match-goers empty out leaving the place comfortably packed afterwards. Set on 2 floors with many t.v. screens dotted around, including a large screen both upstairs and down, and with the lights dimmed and the excellent sound system the atmosphere is tremendous. Pre-match d.j. entertainment builds the atmosphere nicely! This year for the first-time, food was served during the match.
K. T.
Good local pub with Birra Morretti 😋
P. C.
Good beer, good food and a fantastic name.
M.
This is a very welcoming bar with great door staff. Always have the right sport on. A great choice of drinks. A refreshing bar. 100% recommend.
M. H.
Lights were too bright.
A. G.
Reasonable pub with good beer.
d. h.
Great food, Lovely staff, really nice atmosphere 👍
D. B.
Guinness not very good and a bit over the top on there prices for drinks and not very clean
K. 2.
Personally not my choice of places to go, I don't find it that comfortable but I think partly that is due to the seating and the staff on this occasion. If you are a regular then this place can get bustling on event days in Cardiff.
A. C.
Fantastic atmosphere in the Owain Glyndwr.
K. N.
Just a quick visit, but staff were helpful and had a good vibe. Need to spend longer to get a proper feel for the place. A good selection of craft beers :)
s. d.
Extremely slow service when we went inside. Nearly 20 mins waiting to take the order and got a little shirty when we asked if we could get served
M. O.
Went with friends last Friday had to book waitress service only down side toilets long way away up a lot of stairs
h. c.
Great beer Great bar
P. T.
Lovely food and drinks, good service, fun times
J. K.
Well havent been in this pub for a few years ! Was suprised to see the change.. good pub offer a good selection of beverages, also doing food, plenty of televisions showing all the up and coming sports events.
C. U.
Legendary pub in the middle of the city. Great on match days, nights out and for a pub snack of a lunchtime. Good selection of beers.
Can get very busy and loud.
H.
Really nice pub in a great location in the centre of Cardiff, close walking distance to the castle and the stadium. Loads of screens, would be great for watching sport.
J. h.
Good service, and large food portions. Good value for money. The seating upstairs is always open and provides a welcome rest from the business downstairs.
Ł. I.
Nice to watch sport events 👍
G. S.
Immediately rolled into this place after taking note of the 3.50 GBP pints of Guinness advertised on the signs placed outside. Ordered food, which was good, but took note that things could have been more beefed up in terms of volume... I am not looking to cure my obesity when out for pub food... I'm looking to augment it. Never seen or heard of a health nut going bonkers about a new, revolutionary, strict 'pub food diet'... it's us counter-revolutionaries who are happily coming out to venues like yours to pollute our arteries and livers with good ol' pub-derived food. Yum Yum. Beef it up, Owain Glyndwr, I believe in you. Five stars cause I know you will read this and agree.
g.
Have always liked coming here, especially with the friendly staff and nice layout which gives it a homely feel.
I. A.
Standard place for a drink with the lads in the town centre. Nice pub with an alright beer selection
The staff are always really helpful and sports is always on, no complaints
H. M.
Pretty good man, i had hunters chicken and i can definitely say I've had worse in my time. Can confidently say I reccomend to anyone in the nearby area looking for a bite to eat.
D. T.
Cross between a pub and a sports bar but unusually with a range of real ale from independent breweries - which on more than one occasion have been in excellent condition. And open until 1pm on a Friday!
J. B.
Friendly pub with good selection of beers
A. H.
Food was stunning did not have to wait long and staff were very friendly I will definitely be coming bck to this pub nxt time I'm in Cardiff and wiff definitely recommend it to others
L. N.
Good service. Polite and efficient. However limited boring menu with items e.g. fish and chips, gammon etc not available.
R. P.
Always come here when i visit cardiff. Staff are really polite and helpful. Food is absolutely amazing and served quickly even when they're busy. would recommend
J. C.
Nice pub, great location, fab range of drinks, was a little noisy, karaoke was on upstairs, was quite loud downstairs where we were sat. Was a Saturday ok if this is your thing. X
G. M.
Started my Cardiff shopping trip with a seasonal ale in a 2 pint glass. Good selection of ales available. Always worth a visit while in Cardiff.
G. P.
Delicious food, quick service, nice staff, good location.
M. T.
Lovely big open pub, very covid secure, lovely staff!

Great location good service
P. R. B.
Nice pub with a decent beer selection on tap. Only had a couple beers. Would not mind seeing a few more of non IPAs in the ale selection on tap
D. M. J. K. P.
Came here after the independence march saw the name of the place and couldn't resist and I wasn't disappointed better pint of Guinness than I had in some Dublin places.
K. C.
A must if you're visiting Cardiff for that authentic Welsh feel, especially on match day. Good food and reasonably priced drinks.
M. G.

First time I've been here and this was yesterday for a family meal and I've got to say what a beautiful place large spacious pub witch is wheelchair friendly great food at very cheap prices the only down fall was that there wasn't much food choices available but I will be going back so I would recommend.
T. B.
Great pub and although busy plenty of free seats. Resonably priced drinks and friendly staff.
M. M.
A proper pub with good range of items, great staff, pretty decent prices, especially for city centre...love it...visit for sure😊👍
C. D.
We had a great night. Top atmosphere, ace crowd and fantastic staff. DJ and Karaoke was excellent.
P. W.

One of the best pubs in Cardiff. Nice food especially HotWings (try naga sauce if you can handle it). Good location.
P. L.
Great pub in the heart of Caerdydd ❤
M. D.
Well looked after, staff second to none will be paying you a visit soon 😄😄😄
N. H.
Nice food and good atmasphia also good offers, the barman helped us get the most for our money on the food offers which was good as the portions aren't the biggest, very cold upstairs in the loos and no Wi-Fi and seams that 4G can't get though the very thick walls so a good place to go if you want to get away for a few hours.....only give 4* for the cold loos
m. v. E.
It was "ok". Lot of things went wrong with the orders, also the food was not as good as you would hope for..
K. T.
Found by accident great staff good prices on karaoke night awful but so very funny would definitely go back ..
M. Z.
Great place, great service, great burgers. A bit on the pricier side
N. W.
Decent place. But couldn't find a seat this time so didn't stay very long. Beer was OK tho!
A. D.
Quite food wad great
A. H. (.
Good service really friendly staff only problem was there was hardly anything on the menu that was available
A. W.
Lovely food, only down fall was you couldn't have a jacket potato instead of chips. But still a lovely pub and the staff are fab
R. H.
Nice pint out side and fruit based drink for the girls
A. F.
As a city pub there is nearly always somewhere to stand or sit the beer is reasonably priced I found it very friendly have been in there a few times
L. R.
Was skeptical about coming in for food and drinks as previously disappointed. But i have to say that food, drinks and prices were great. Will be coming here again for sure. The staff are pleasant, enthusiastic and go above and beyond their duties.
S. M.
Food was average, not much service. The guy who greeted us at the door was friendly
N. S.
Large pub in central Cardiff. Good selection of beers. Bit pricey but nothing to complain about.
N. P.
Lovely refurb, place is now huge. Minus 1 star for poor cider range.
T. B.
Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Served by a lovely bartender called Mike, really made mine and my girlfriends evening
B. C.
Lovely place . Cardiff puts London to shame . Lovely people. City centre well clearn and buzzing.

G. Z.
Great place to watch the rugby, beer is good a deal staff friendly. Place was packed so if you need to sit down, get there early!
D. S.
Awesome place to go for a cold refreshing pint and some mid day grub. However only downside are the cardboard straws.
T. H.
Chef was a mad man giving me staff discount on beer. Great atmosphere and all round decent spot
G. S.
Great drink selection and has been refurbed to a good standard
A. O.
The Owain has always been a first port of call when I'm in Cardiff. Cracking service, lovely food and the staff are very pleasant and welcoming. 10/10.
C. S.
As far as Cardiff standards go the Owain Glyndwr is one of the top pubs for quality. However it does not come with the Cardiff price and drink prices are more akin to London area.
J. B.
Good food. Excellent choice for drinks and friendly staff
P. K.
Nice pub. Expensive prices. Not wheelchair friendly as toilets are on top floor.
L. W.
Lovely food and good service. Can be very busy on the weekend in the evenings, but a nice place
D. M.
New menu is much bigger and better than a months ago; good price for Sunday lunch.
J. J.
Great armosphere, but slightly inflated prices for the standard of venue.
Great on rugby days though
Y. D.
Always have fab food here. Reliable filling food
D. R.
Lovely place with lots of craft beer. Big downfall is the toilets upstairs, as a disabled person, I really struggled to get there
F. C.
Food was amazing 👏
c. l.
A great atmosphere on rugby days! The staff are very professional and able to keep up with the high demand
s. l.
Smart interior to this city stalwart.
Drinks somewhat pricey
P. M.
Outside seating is a real bonus when the weather has been so hot. Enjoy a cold drink and have a rest from shopping.
M. D. R.
Cheap, nice, live sports but not crowded and pool table. Good choice of tap beer too!
A. T.
A great place to take a rest and watch the hustle and bustle of the city pass you by. A great selection of drinks, all served by very friendly staff.
K. H.
Never been here before today but is on my list next time I'm in the city. Very well laid out and spacious.

S. O.
Ive been here briefly for a drink but the atmosphere and the menu choices are great
O. P.
Cheap place. Like very cheap. The food is decent at most, but you can it. Drinks are OK. What saves the place is live music in the evenings.
r. m.
Ok,but food service was slow, and food not that great, poor menu with not a lot of choice.Bar good with friendly staff but as I went primarily for a meal would not go again unless they improved the menu choices.
M. E.
Food was excellent, but some of the beers were a little over priced.
C. “. m. M.
Good beer good food served quickly . Not a match day or a very different tale .
D. M.
Good City pub with the usual prices and food for all, can be a bit crowded but the upstairs area is generally a bit quieter.
G. D.
Decent prices for Cardiff, foods good but could do with more seating outside on nice days.
M. B.
