C. L.I came to the Yard Bar and Kitchen with my family for lunch, and the service was amazing! Staff were so polite and helped to keep my kids entertained while waiting for our food, even though we were not waiting for very long. By far the best meal and service we have had out for a long time!

C. F.I thought this was a fantastic place, it wasn't expensive. It was pub food but elevated and everything was piping hot, the staff were helpful and even though it wasn't busy at the time, they didn't stop and made sure everything was good. The decor was nice and some unusual pieces to look at, and i would most definately return here and eat again. On a personal note the churros where one of the best that I've ever had. Massive thumbs up from me.
A. V.Decent food at great prices! Quite a few food options under £10. Staff is friendly and helpful. The 2 for 1 cocktails daily 5-10pm were a huge plus, highly recommend the Summer Blush if you like a sweet tasty cocktail.

C.Joe and Andrew did an amazing job assisting us with our Wedding Welcome Party at the Yard! From helping us figure out how much alcohol we needed and how much food to serve for over 70 guests, the entire staff at the Yard (chefs, bartenders, wait staff) all did a phenomenal job! Our guests had such a wonderful time and enjoyed the live music from the downstairs bar while still being able to chat (loads of seating!). The food was amazing, and the staff at the Yard are on time, professional, full of energy and make everything work seamlessly! Would absolutely recommend this bar/restaurant to anyone planning a large event or a party!

J. H.Not at all impressed with this venue. We ordered food to be told half the menu items were not available. We were charged full price and were not offered any discount.
When we sat down we reviewed the menu to discover two of the three plates ordered were discounted.
When challenged we were told it was down to us to be aware of the special offers and the man serving was quite abrupt.
He eventually refunded us the difference but the poor experience left a bad taste despite the food being more than reasonable.
Very disappointed!

A. T.Brilliant place! Had a great time, fantastic atmosphere, staff A1, service was with a smile even though rammed at times, and some real rather seriously rude ppl around! It’s a real pub, no fancy stuff just a great old fashioned pub. Couldn’t sample the usual food as it was a rugby day so they had limited food - but what we had was great. A massive + there was toilet paper in ladies all night, which as a female we know that’s unusual on a rugby day. Live music was fantastic, a few different bands / acts - shame no Irish band on an Irish international night, but I’m just being picky. Bouncers were really polite, friendly and so personable, had a great chat to the big one on the door - and I mean BIG. They had a female bouncer who we saw smiling all night, chatting to everyone and had to deal with a few drunks, she took no nonsense and they were out swiftly and professionally, no drama - well done you! This just added to the feeling of a great day, great beer, great staff, great atmosphere - superb place!

I had the lamb burger my nephew the classic house burger and girlfriend had the lasagna, all were great and the bill was just over 30 quid with a soft drink each.
They could use the space to add more tables but it has a nice not full feeling, not to cramped.
Good to see the use of old rotary phones near the stairs, talked my nephew how we use to make calls in the olden days...
S.Wandered in around 1:30 on a Sunday with my father on a whim after traveling overnight from America. Staff picked up quick that we were not locals and were very kind in explaining how to order. Had a couple of pints of Strongbow and a pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and a cup of white bean soup. Sandwich was a bit lackluster (just a bit bland on seasoning) but the coleslaw and the soup really hit the spot. Standard quality experience there. Space is really lovely.

T. N.I am an American. I'm a trained cook. I eat a lot of burgers. This was perhaps the best burger I've ever had, the meat was substantial, the flavor was peak, the sauces were succulent, and the fries ("chips") were crisp and delicious.
The waitstaff were outstanding, providing quick and competent help and delivery. The beer on tap was a wide selection of fine brews, both local (I had the Brains dark) and international, and the wine was apparently excellent as well.
5/5, would return to Cardiff just for this restaurant.
