So in love with the Pizza here.. had the pulled pork one and it was fresh and tasty.. not only the good food but the staff were friendly and quick in service.. located by the main street and easy to find. Will come here often as this pub just a walk distance from our house

1st time visit had a delicious meal for valentines day, made to feel welcome.... however sadly not a real pub more of a restaurant feel... snug where you have to sit with dog was cold so had to leave 🥶 shame as only staying 5 min walk away 🙄 maybe try the garden room next time when weather improves...

Have visited twice but haven't been inside yet, instead have made use of their outside tables and attentive service. Both visits were for a Sunday roast where each component was exceptional. Recommend getting a side order or their cauliflower cheese which was amazing. Good selection of deserts too. Experience topped off with friendly staff who are invested in ensuring you enjoy your visit. Fully recommended.

Came here for Sunday lunch with my family. I highly recommend the roast dinners. All the food was really tasty and the children's roast dinners were a great size too! To top it off the staff were really friendly and welcoming, even when our young children were running around the crazies :)

My family and I visited The Lexden Crown for the 1st time on Sunday and we were more than impressed. The roasts were delicious and you definitely get plenty for what you pay for. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very chilled and relaxed. The staff were incredibly attentive, which we always appreciate as such a large group. The manager Sam was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Will be back again very soon :)

Had a meal here last night. We sat in the garden and the setting was very nice (fairy lights, unique tables and under a marquee). It was a Friday night and at first it was very quiet. We got seated and took our order very quickly. All staff very prompt and polite. We got cheesy garlic pizza bread to start which was cooked in the pizza ovens outside. Was very nice. For main I got the Thai chicken curry. Was really flavourful and had good amount of authentic vegetables. My girlfriend got fish and chips...was OK but the batter was very oily. We both had sticky toffee puddings for desert which were OK, ice cream was better than the pudding itself. As the evening went on it got very busy and service slowed down significantly. Not the staffs fault but probably could have done with 1 extra server on a Friday night. For drinks we both had Aspall ciders but drinks options was vast. The overall price was about 70 pounds which is quite reasonable for a lot of food and 4 drinks. You could easily pay £40 for two by just getting a main and one drink each. Overall a good experience and tasty food, look forward to going again.

A beautiful walled garden with plenty of benches and comfy seats. We ordered pork belly and nut roast. Food came relatively quickly and was absolutely delicious. Very good portions too. The veggies were juicy and tender. We don't come very often but it's well worth the occasional visit. Definitely recommend!

I visited last night for dinner to catch up with a friend. We had a great evening! The service was quick and very friendly, and gave good recommendations when we couldn't decide what to order. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed it! Really good selection on the menu including some nice seasonal options. I had the brie bites to start, the burger with brie and cranberry sauce and a delicious salted caramel cheesecake for dessert! All were fantastic and so delicious. What a lovely place - we'll definitely be back again.

We don’t live locally so hadn’t been here before booking for our wedding food. Since then, every time we have been the food has been unbelievably good. All staff are welcoming and you can definitely tell that the food is completely home made. One of our favourite restaurants now by far!

Staff were very frendly and helpful, but it would have been nice if the outside seating area had been warm or even heated. Saidly while everyone else in our party enjoyed their food emensley, my nut roast was soggie, unpleasant and tasted mostly of turnip I was also disappointed with my pudding the ice cream scoops were tiny and tasted like cheep off brand ice cream.

The staff is really lovel, friendly, helpful and very welcoming. I would give the staff 5*. The 2 young waiters were particularly refreshing and efficient. It has a lovely outside seating area. However, I must say I felt the food was average. We had the duck croquette as a starter. It was delicious (5/5). I chose the Spanish chicken and my husband pick the ribeye steak. It wasn't on a bone! A third of it was fat. My chicken was really tender but only came with 4 small pieces of potatoes. I was somewhat disappointed in the lemon meringue pie. It wasn't bad but rather average. I have to say their coffee was nice. Although I felt the food was a bit over average I would still recommend it.

This little gem was recommended to us be another pub! We went for Sunday lunch of slow braised belly pork, stuffing, roast potatoes and 4 accompanying vegetables. Finished off with an oversized yorkshire and gravy. It was a very large portion of food and extremely delicious to eat. With a pint and one half of ale, and X 2- 2 scoops of ice cream desert with shortbread fingers followed by one coffee the total cost was £47. Not cheap but quality and quantity makes this worth the price. Lovely interior with large garden for those wanting to dine outside. Clean loos...always important, and tables still spaced a short distance apart. All in all a fantastic place to eat. Would recommend booking a table. Lovely staff.

I haven't ever eaten in the Crown, I tend to just go there for the occasional beer. The staff are really nice but I would say that it's expensive for what it is. The car park is tiny and they have now implemented a check-in to park there as well.

Car park is a bit snug but manageable. This was our first visit to The Lexden and we have mixed views, firstly the staff are all lovely and extremely helpful. Ample outside seating, and dogs allowed 👍🏻 my husband had the salmon and he said it was perfect and thoroughly enjoyed it, I ordered the lasagna which when they came to bring it to the table the server said "who's is the chicken" it was dry on top and had great difficulty cutting it, I'm not saying it wasn't homemade but that it must have been heated up to cause it to shrivel up and be so hard. I must say the rest of our group their food was good so this was just a bit of a let down for the dish I had chosen.

The atmosphere is perfect with a lovely outdoor garden with plenty of seating. However, the beverages let me down as they were very weak. Me and my boyfriend both had 3 gins and vodka + lemonade and they were all watered down, which is quite disappointing. The Sunday roast was just average. Big portions.However, you don’t get enough gravy and the Yorkshire puddings we’re far too crunchy. The service was excellent , food and drinks came within minutes and staff were all lovely. However, the staff did not keep track off what was ordered when asked “is this a lamb roast” as me and my boyfriend both had different dishes and the waitress looked so puzzled and replied “ I have no idea”. The major disappointment was being charged for pudding that never came.

First experience here, although I've lived in the area for my entire life and can honestly say it's a hidden gem! Had a lamb roast dinner and my partner had a chicken one, we accompanied it with added pig in blankets and cauliflower cheese, all food was lovely and well presented, only criticism we had was that the roasts could have been roasted longer and that the waitress forgot the cauliflower cheese so we had to wait for it to arrive although we had eaten most of our dinner. But with thoughts aside the staff are very pleasant and the interior and decor was clean and well established. I highly recommend and we will definitely be returning again!

Nice little pub, food was nice but was very oily. Our server was very nice but it seems like the other staff couldn't care less, they stood around the bar doing absolutely nothing except chatting rather loudly with each other and the pub was hardly empty so they definetly could have been doing something more productive . Also i find the their choice of conversation topic was hardly appropriate, considering there was children walking past them quite frequently, chatting about how they need a 'baby daddy' and even asking their coworker if they'd consider it and even more leud conversation topics I dont feel are appropriate to post on here.

Cane here for a meal as part of a birthday celebration. As it was the run up to Christmas a table had been booked which is just as well as it was busy that night. The plusses were that the food was really good and the serving staff were very friendly and helpful. Things that could be slightly better, it was a bit cramped, but that had more to do with the pub being very old therefore not designed for space and it was a bit dark to read menus! Phones out with torchlight for that. But a pleasant evening out.
