S. C.Having driven past this old established pub on many occasions I decided to visit for lunch. I was not disappointed. The dining area is comfortable and the service was excellent from the friendly, welcoming staff. The food was extremely good and reasonably priced. It certainly won't be my last visit there and I would recommend it to friends and family

R. H.I've been at various times over the years. Last time was for a quiz. The pub was very busy and I struggled to find a place to sit. Drinks are quite cheap. The quiz was enjoyable - I'd certainly recommend that (it is £2 per person, although their website said £2 per team). It's one of the better quizzes I've been to - prompt 7:30 start and just under 2 hours to complete 6 rounds.
I'm not sure what the pub is like for other things but I'll definitely be back for the Wednesday night quiz.

We were really impressed. All three meals (steak, fish and chips and Macaroni cheese) were absolutely delicious. The real ale was well kept and the staff were friendly and efficient. Very enjoyable.
It must have been 30 years since I was last there.
