Food was lovely! Portion sizes spot on! Service was lacking, we had a friendly server to start with but she must have finished at 5pm because after this we were forgotten about, our first server ordered our desserts around 4:45, we didn't receive them until around 5:15 then we finally had a check back and paid up at 5:45, wouldn't mind if it was busy but there was only us (and one other table that came in just after 5pm) in the whole pub. But, the main reason to dine is for food and the food was lovely!

An absolutely lovely place to visit with a little bit off added countryside at the back. The food was lovely and the staff were very welcoming and polite. They still provide a table service which is great but you can also relax at the bar. They do both lunch time and evening menus with a variety of foods definitely worth a try

had fathers day here with 8 other family members, staff were great and very welcoming, food came out hot and all together. my dad had the trio of roasts which was amazing. all the food was great. slight delay on the desserts but this was rectified and dealt with by the manager, very apologetic. the young man who served our food was very polite even better considering it was his first shift. thank you all.

Parking available. Be aware if any mobility issues there are stepped access to lower levels and toilets once inside. Attended on a Saturday pre booked as family meal and table size however unsure if needed to. Staff friendly however service slightly slow. Food fantastic and no issues

A lovely venue and very welcoming staff. Seated promptly for our 8pm reservation, we had drinks whilst waiting to place our orders. I explained to a lovely lady that I am allergic to tomato and she noted this on the order. In a very timely manner, dinner was served. As the waitress put down my mixed grill, I noticed a tomato on the plate. I pointed out that I could be seriously ill if the tomato was simply removed and she assured me this was not a problem and apologised profusely. Whilst a fresh meal was prepared, my wife and daughter began their meals. They both had chicken and leek pie. Unfortunately, my wife's pie was lukewarm. I found the waitress and another meal went back to the kitchen. Two fresh meals were quite quickly sorted and were really excellent. When I paid the bill, tgere was an adequate response so no criticism!! With a little extra care, this could be a great place to eat. Super, rather than superb!! Will not stop me going again!

Mmmmm. Heard good things about this place and was disappointed with a Sunday lunch recently. Two small slices of overdone beef. A smattering of carrots and cabbage that looked 'old'. Small amount of gravy and looked as if at had all been kept under a lamp for a while. Overall small portion too. Yorkshire and roasters were nice though. Will probably try again as I felt it might not be typical. Pudding was good though 😃

Have been here a few times for Sunday lunch. Went on Monday following an ashes scattering ceremony at nearby Markeaton Crematorium. Family meal for 8 - put in orders the week before - warm welcome and great service from the waitresses. It was not very busy and we were not rushed at all enjoying a lovely relaxed meal and many stories of mum were shared. Food top notch as always. Thanks to all the staff.

Here is the review that should have been posted here regarding The Mundy Arms. The Mundy Arms is a most delightful place. The ambience is wonderful. The staff are wonderfully pleasant and professional. The food is excellent ! We will definitely be visiting again and again.

Excellent dinner. We'd table reservations and were warmly received/greeted. Being coeliac, and on so advising I was given the gluten free menu without delay as we were shown to our table. My family's food (my son and his wife and daughter's) were well presented and enjoyed and my dinner (from the Gluten Free Menu), was similarly well served and excellent to enjoy. Service throughout the evening was friendly, efficient and professional. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and are happy to recommend this venue.

I have been to this place multiple times over few years it has been nothing but amazing food and atmosphere. On one occasion the child food was raw and dry, my children did not eat it. When spoken to staff they offered replacements or money off our bill which i was happy about.

Had an afternoon lunch here with a friend. Good, reasonable lunch menu but could benefit from more than one salad. Waited slightly longer than wanted to be served, but it was very quiet and only 2 members of staff on. Went to the bar to pay the bill. But friendly staff, accessible toilets, plenty of drink choices and added bonus of a Premier Inn next door.

Pub was nice we were seated in an area with no one else sat in but a couple with a dog. The waitress was either new or just rubbish. She took ages to come and take our order. Then served us the wrong food and thaught it was funny. The food was nice I must say. After our meals we didn't see the waitress again. She didn't come to the table for the bill so we went to the bar, we cud have quite easily just walked out without paying. We obviously paid and then the same waitress over charged us for the meal. To which the manager was apologetic and refunded us the difference. Food was nice... service not the best...shame really

This a a great place to visit. Its clean and nicely laid out. The staff was friendly and the food was good. Drinks are as always in a pub, fresh and tasty. We come here specifically for the extensive Gluten Free menu! I found this chain of pubs whilst on a course with work and this branch is the only one local to us, despite it being about 16 miles away. Being Coeliac, it's sometimes hard to find a good choice or not get contaminated food, but I've never had a problem here. The current menu lacks somewhat on dessert choices but it has been better in the past. The food is always nice and the staff here are great. Good for a quick meal out or if just passing by.

Had a dinner and premier inn breakfast here and both were fab! Dinner was spot on, the food was great quality and the staff were very welcoming and polite. There was a lovely spread for breakfast and cooked breakfast started the morning off right! Highly recommend this restaurant, can't wait to come back!

Roast beef dinner was lovely. My husbands seabass and scallop risotto had to be sent back because the prawns were still frozen in the middle. Service was quite poor; we were given dessert menus and then no one returned for 25 minutes, so we went up to the bar and asked for the bill and left.

Went here on a Thursday evening with my wife and two young daughters. Whilst the service in terms of taking orders was quick and pleasant we waited about 50 minutes for our food. When the food did come we asked if there had been a mix up in the kitchen, our waitress came back to tell us she'd checked and we'd only been waiting 20 minutes! It's a shame because the food was really nice but I can't risk going back with two young children if they can't see the difference between 20 and 50 minutes

Excellent food. Steak & red wine pie, vegan burger, beef roast were all excellent and importantly piping hot! Finished off with a homemade gooseberry & ginger crumble which was exceptional. Sadly a real lack of ales. A few craft ale bottles but desperately needs a few local real ales. Such a shame all they offered was Greene King IPA, when there are so many quality ales brewed in Derby. Rectify this and I honestly believe you'd be on a winner!

Went for the christmas fayre menu meal saturday night. Had a phone call thursday morning whilst at work to ask what i would like to eat as the chef needs to "get it prepared". Bit of a nuisance as i like to change my mind last minute. Nice warm cosy pub..seating nice. Starter came pretty much 5 mins after being seated. I had the bubble and squeak with poached egg and hollandaise sauce. B and S sloppy..egg was snotty and way too much H sauce which made the whole meal cold!my hubby on the other hand said it was ok and scoffed the lot. Onto the roast turkey dinner..very dissapointed. Although hot all over, The roasties were frozen roasties and crumbled under fork. Nothing crisp at all. ..stuffing was tasty..yorkshire flat and heavy...brussels also frozen and not fresh..very chewy for the humble sprout! Kale and green beans were ok. Turkey was ok too although not carved turkey..off a roll...wouldve been nice to ask if i wanted cranberry sauce instead of it being slopped on my kale...i did get quite full..again my hubby scoffed his ..although he wasnt impressed with the roasties and the fact there was not a drop of mashed potato in sight . Dessert was tasty gingerbread cheesecake..if a bit rich but not complaining...all in all wouldnt have that again..but for 3 courses at 20 quid..shouldnt grumble(a bit bloody late for that!!) but other standard menu looks lovely and will go back to try that.
