A. B.I've been to several Greene King / Hungry Horse venues, and this places rates amongst the best.
Ordered mains, drinks and deserts by the app, and everything arrived in rapid time, cooked well, and was plentiful.
The one thing that let it down was their slowness in clearing away the empty plates.
Desert arrived and they were still there!!
Aside from that, great, value place to visit, and ample car park.
R. D. B.Food and value was great. First time at Paddock, service good too. The ultimate candymania almost killed us (2 people) to eat it... to be honest could have been dessert for 4 people and not needed a main meal!!! Look forward to going back again and trying more mains&desserts.
R. H.Staff service was great, food was great and outdoor there is a large garden with seating & children's play area. However, inside is very noisy with lots of local, social punters and mostly kids are left unattended to play outside. Not my kind of atmosphere, so each to there own.
D.Fantastic Establishment, great service, hot food and a reaaally friendly vibe. Food offers on throughout the week too, easy ordering either through the app or at the till. You'll be pleasantly surprised at the food turn around, and its always super tasty! The Paddock is definitely one of my favourite pubs in Derby, always plenty of parking for desi' drivers n' all. The warm welcome is abit like when you pull up at home, and get into the warm inside after a long rainy miserable day. The pics don't do it justice. Lovely beer garden, perfect for the warmer weather & evening sunsets.

W.Only gripe with both meals we had was the mushrooms were room tempreture and the peppers and onions on the skillet were frozen which were tasteless and full of water although nice and hot. in turn this didn't do the steak any favors. That said everything else perfect,staff very pleasant and cheap at £14.80 including 2 glasses of cordial. We will go again and try their other offers.

S. T.What a lovely pub, cosy atmosphere came here on a spare of the moment thing for a date. When we arrived this was around half 6 it was fairly quiet. We had a couple drinks and seeing food being brought out we decided looked too good we cancelled reservations else where. My date ordered the steak wiv salad and he ordered me chicken new Yorker wiv fries. These were the big plates I didn't realise there was 2 options but my date got me the larger one. Both our meals were lovely and reasonable in price. We then was approach I believe a manager or owner about the quiz and if we would like to enter. The place was busier now and we decided why not. The quiz was fun and atmosphere in the place continued to be very good with everyone happy and friendly. I believe this quiz is on every week. Would I go back and recommend again, most certainly just wish I found this place sooner seeing not too far away but still fairly new to derby. Defo will be bringing back the kids for abit of grub.

Meal sizes are exceptional and they have specials on each day.
S. C.We were shown to our table and were given menus. Within a few minutes waitress was back to take food and drink order. Not had time to browse menu so ordered drinks and as soon as she was back waitress wanted to take order not only for main meal but puddings too at the same time. We were paying on vouchers and they couldn't give change and had to pay at time of ordering which didn't give us any opportunity how to make the most of them. We would have ordered another drink at the end of main meal but the opportunity was not available. As soon as mains were eaten the puddings arrived it was all very rushed not a relaxing meal out felt we only had a half hour slot even though the pub was nearly empty. The food was excellent but the wine was warm and not chilled. I would go again as the food was good but staff do need to give people time and be like every other pub and let you pay at the end of your meal and come back for pudding orders once you have finished mains.

C. P.I live local to the Paddock and have never been that impressed but my opinion has certainly changed after our visit today. All staff were so welcoming from the minute we got there. Drinks and food order were delivered quickly but quality was not compromised in any way. The food was gorgeous and way better pricing than alot of places!! D. J.Visited the paddock tonight with my family for our anniversary meal. Cannot complain about the food it was perfect. Clean plates all round. Customer service was brilliant. We were made to feel welcome from start to finish. To names that stick out were Courtney and Tina.

Not that there is anything wrong with that of course, but I'm just saying, if you want an intimate place, just for the two of you, then perhaps look elsewhere.
Diners are well spaced hand wash gel by the door and a one-way system in place, so seem to have everything covered.
Plenty of staff, polite and cheerful.
There were three of us and we all enjoyed our meal, so all in all I would recommend The Paddock.

It's very family oriented and the food was OK too. 2 adult roast dinners for £5 and they weren't your usual frozen jobs either. In all the bill for the 4 of us was £20 including drinks and the kids had deserts. Highly recommend this place.

Table inbetween tables for the food to be placed down safely. The food was as good as remembered. Paper menu given and the option to order off the the app given. Each table also explains if I has been sanitised and a glass station set up for empty cups. Friendly atmosphere.

Food was fresh fast and tasty.
Steak slightly under and was fixed within minutes. Good to see the rest of the plate re-done too.
Ethan was the chef that day and far surpassed my expectations.
Tina the manager served us at the bar, all up sells were offered and the use of the Bar Tab function.
This eatery is going from strength to strength, keep it up. ♡

But as always sad that people who smoke won't use the smoking area at the front of the pub, but insist on smoking right by the back door and we all then have to put up with the fumes. Shame as we love the new look pub. ☺️☺️
G. D.Cheap no frills pub grub. Tasted fine, but clearly put together as per portion control manual. Presentation v basic, slow service, Average beer.......room for lots of improvement. An ok place if on your way past and hungry. Lots of offers and deals on. It wouldn't be a destination for us to put on our list of places to go.

J. B.Polite and helpful staff; very friendly. Nice outside space. Children's play area. On bus route (Trent Barton H1.) Good food, well priced, with decent special offers: much better than Wetherspoons. Vegetarian and some Vegan options. Tea and coffee reasonably priced and served in a huge mug on a saucer. Will be coming here again! Only negative is that there's no wheelchair access to he the bar and toilets (ironically there is a very good disabled toilet); a lift is due to be installed to solve the access issue though.

F.Very disappointed when I ordered a Megasaurus I was not told that I could have either a free starter or a sundae why I was earing my food we saw the offer so I asked the waiter how do I get my free suddenly he said just go to the bar and tell them what you want I will bring it to you when I went to the bar is was told I could not have because I didn't order it with my meal so after she fetch it presume she was the managerss it was eventually it was sorted but it was embarrassing. Not a happy customer
