First visit since my early 20s.... about 18 years ago, it's the same....but different. Visited mid afternoon on a Saturday and it was fairly quiet and relaxed, had a couple of beers and one of the best pizza's I've eaten. Back in the early 2000s it was the place to be for alternative/Indie music and a great night out....I suspect it's the same now. The range of alcoholic drinks is massive with spirits, wine, cask ales, draft beers, cans, bottles and cider alongside drinks offers. Food is available fairly late and is really good, although I did miss the stotties of my younger days. I suspect that it gets extremely busy and a little messy later on (they're open til 2), I also suspect it's absolutely awesome.

It's a pub/club for everyone. Special brews, entertainment for +18 generations at the weekend. This is not a gimmick place with silly drinks offers to bleed you of money. Door staff are on point and regular to the task. You'll never feel out of place.

Drinks have gotten a bit pricier since I last went. I usually go to it's sister pub, Bishops Blaise which is a better vibe to be honest. Bless has the advantage of a kitchen serving stone baked pizza but when I've seen them being taken to tables, I don't know if I could justify the price on such a diddy pizza. Music's alright, staffs alright, just needs to sort the prices really. Probably look at expanding the menu as well?

This is a fantastic little pub. If you want a place relax and chill by yourself it is perfect. It has an alternative/indie crowd that drift in and out so if that is you it is a must. I had pizza and pint deal for £10 and it was one of the best pizzas I have outside of Italy. I will definitely be going back next time I am in Derby. Oh and on Friday nights there is a DJ who plays 90s indie tunes with some 80s new wave/ romantics in the mix as well. I went there by myself and had a great time as atmosphere is friendly, and some good deals at the bar as well. Can't recommend this pub enough. It Made my trip to Derby.

Not changed much over the years this place. It's always offered a solid rock music alternative to other places. Always lively. Friendly enough crowd. Couple of good beers on offer. Decent prices, some good offers too. Food is standard pub fare and of creditable quality. Ample space inside. Nice outside courtyard. 4 stars.

It's pretty to sit in, it plays descent songs, you will not be disappointed. Yet, neither will you be blown away. The drinks are a decent price, so it's a good place to go for a pre-drink before a big night out, it's also a great place to end a night after a calmer night.

Iconic place in derby, many memories come out of this place. A hugely diverse mic of people come here, from the young students to 30+, and right down to the old school rockers that are maybe already 65+! That's why I love this place. To keep the good atmosphere there are door staff, and if you go before 10 you can save yourself a quid to get in and find yourself a seat around a table, pool is also available. There are two good sized patio areas with table and benches, so the smokers are welcome too. All around very good place to go to

Went to a 21st birthday party. Lovely function room upstairs, through the entrance to the left. Spacious room with room for a dj and buffet. Lots of tables and chairs for guests to sit down and plenty of room to dance! They offered hot food for the buffet too. Couldn't hear any noise from the bar below so perfect for other functions. Bar upstairs didn't take card so had to go downstairs but not far to walk.

This venue has been a stalwart of the Student/Indie scene for decades and I don't see it changing any time soon.. At the weekends it's a bustling pub / club with resident DJ's and dance floor. It's not just for the local students though, you get an eclectic mix of music played which attracts rockers, mods and all points in between, of any age.

This place was a popular starting spot for so many 90s nights out. Unfortunately just as pretty much everywhere else time moves on and this place has been painted white and hipster-esque slogans everywhere. Despite the best efforts to ruin such an old haunt there's a hint of atmosphere left. The far from perfect beer and poor service however, still remain!

Love this place, the drinks are reasonably priced and the atmosphere is great. One fault I would say it has (bear in mind this isn't entirely the staff's fault) is that it is very difficult to get a drink when it is even slightly busy. People tend to hover around the bar and the large columns every meter or 2 takes up a large area that could be used to wait to be served. A lot of people start in Wetherspoons for a few drinks and to meet their friends and I would recommend going here after that to get a few stronger drinks in the system for cheap. Then onto places like Jorrocks, Mosh, Pop world, whatever takes your fancy.

The bless is the best place to go in Derby on a Friday or Saturday night. Real mix of people in there both nights, places to chill and chat with friends, pool table if you fancy it and of course the dancefloor which plays bangers only by the likes of the smiths, arctic monkeys, queen, oasis, madness and many more!

The Blessington Carriage (or "Bless"), is a quirky pub in the centre of Derby. Just round the corner from The Flower Pot, the Blessington Carriage has two bars, extensive indoor and a small out door area. It serves a very wide array of craft beers at reasonable prices, and is friendly and trendy. Thoroughly recommended.
