M. N.We've been here today for a slot of lunch. Absolutely amazing service and the food was absolutely delicious we both went for the special Good ol' boys Americana burger. Highly recommend
A. Y.Been meaning to go for years and finally went for my birthday. I tried the venison burger which was odd but very nice. I gave it four stars as it is just my opinion that it wasn't as cosy of a pub as I expected.

B. E.Kind of on the fringes of the city, but still easy to find as it's on the main road.
A bit of a hidden gem, the outside looks fairly modern but quite small.
However is actually fairly large with possibly one of the best beer gardens in the city.
The garden is all season with a retractable roof, lighting and decent heating, it's basically another indoor room during the winter.
However when the suns out it's a proper sun trap.
The drinks available are all the usual suspects plus DBC real ales, DBC crafted on keg and a decent range of craft cans and bottles from UK, European and American breweries.
It's not as all encompassing as Suds & Soda or The Furnace but it's a solid effort and far better than most pubs in Derby.
The food is excellent with an emphasis on burgers and smoked/BBQ stuff, the dirty fries are excellent, but be warned that the firecracker chicken ones will make you sweat.
The atmosphere is casual and relaxed with a broad age range of customers and a mix of individuals, couples, small groups and larger parties.
Worth the walk from the city centre.
M. L.Cannot fault this venue at all. Our friends wedding reception got cancelled yesterday day due to weather conditions. This pub/ restaurant allowed us to use their function room to enable us to carry on and have the celebration the newlyweds deserved. The staff were amazing throughout, they helped with decorations, put some food on and were amazing hosts throughout the night. You should be very proud of yourself !!!!
A.Very nice atmosphere with a lovely heated garden area. Good Drinks, but the food was disgusting. I can eat anything and my standards for a meal are not high, but I was still having a hard time finishing half of my meal. I got the potato wedges with potato, pickles and sour cream. They were unseasoned, bacon tasted old, and the whole meal was just sour and barely warm. I would go there only for a drink next time.

L. S.I've been down to this pub a number of times since living in Derby, and having had numerous meals and probably too many beers I've never been disspointed. The food is great quality and good value for money, it's not a budget eatery but you still feel like you've got a bargain. There is always a good variety of beers too; there is local, typical, and what I'd describe as trendy beers, so no matter your preference you'll be catered for. Unsure about the wine offerings so I won't comment on that.
The pub itself has plenty of atmosphere, inside its spacious without the echoey emptiness of some pubs, and with a large outdoor area with heating and a canopy for the typical UK summers. The roof terrace is also a good shout, and gets loads of sun for when it finally shows its face.
In summary, a quality real ale pub, with cracking food when the need arises, and the staff are always friendly and helpful.
P. M.Really nice place for food and drink. When we went on Friday 27th August it was eerily quiet. Service was very good although the lager was very expensive. The toilet arrangements have improved vastly since the last time we visited. Would definitely recommend.

M. R.Slightly removed from the city centre in the historic Friargate area, this Derby Brewing Company pub has a lot going for it. Good choice of drinks and if craft beer is your thing, this pub always has a good selection. This place has a selection of rooms plus a lovely roof terrace in the Summer. Food is modern fayre with some Gluten Free options as well. Staff are helpful and friendly, will definitely return. M

T. S.Went for a meal recently. Was a brilliant experience. Used the new app to order drinks and then food which came quick and direct to the table. The new menu is fantastic and food was delicious. Compliments to the chef. While the new covid rules have made it difficult for a lot of people and places the Greyhound have smashed it. 5 stars would recommend.

M. K.Really nice. A friendly and welcoming place with a covered outside space. The food is lovely. I had a free range, mature Cheddar, Omelette with salad and chips which was really good. My wife had the Jacket Potato and my Son had 2 side dishes of chicken strips and corn on the cob. Both said they really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. The food took about 20 minutes to arrive but this is because it's all freshly prepared. Service was excellent. A good range of drinks and ales on offer too. Highly recommended.

Their food is just amazing. It is a bit pricey, I have to say, but in all honesty I am very happy to spend a bit more for the food as it was just amazing.
I am not sure how it would be for drinks but I would suggest checking it out!

Also the smoking area is walled off so you can sit outside with out the irritation of smoke smells.

T. M.We went on a Tuesday which was burger night. The flier in the bar said you got a free drink with every burger. When I enquired about the drinks, I was advised that the Tuesday burger offer only included a glass of house white wine or a lager or the house vodka. The burger was average. Bar person not friendly either. Only plus was a lovely heated area out the back.
A. S.Brilliant drinks, brilliant people behind the bar, and the food is on point! I usually visit occasionally for the Monday Pub Quiz (my team won one night and we got a round of drinks on the house), and there's a free chip butty midway through, which is delicious too.

F.I used to be a regular here when it was a very traditional Bass pub, so it's a surprise to see how it's altered since Derby Brewing have taken it on and spent some serious money refurbishing it into a wine bar for ale drinkers. The surroundings are very pleasant with a spacious garden area. I gave three stars because I find the food and drink prices a bit steep for the area and I haven't yet come to terms with the pub that wants to be a restaurant concept. Just my view.

Great selection of Derby Brewing company beers; which are in a league of their own with regards to local ale breweries. Good selection of other beverages as well including frequently having good guest ales on etc.
Food is also a real plus note, proper home made chips and burger, smokehouse options like brisket etc and a pizza oven make this place really stand out amongst ale pubs.
I would say however, that if you want something that isn't a burger or smoked and want to drink a pint of Carling, I'd suggest you go elsewhere - you won't be missed.

B. G.A great atmosphere on most nights of the week. It's good for a social and a catch up with a group of friends. The beer selection on tap is rather good with prices towards teh lower end of the scale. The burgers are also not bad if you're feeling peckish.

K. B.I used the function room above the pub for a birthday party recently and can't fault it or the service. All the staff were very attentive and the communication before hand was great. They helped with all enquiries including getting some gluten free bread in for the buffet food, which was incredible, I definitely over catered!!! Can definitely recommend it!

s. H.A fantastic pub on the edge of Derby. It has a fantastic atmosphere and a great selection of beers. Wether it's in the beer garden on a summers day or by the fire on a cold winters day, it's always a nice place to meet friends.
A. R.I go here quite a lot as it's near my office, took my dog (a puppy greyhound) and was warmly welcomed and they gave the dog some water and treats and showed a genuine like in having the dog in the pub! Thank you for the warm welcome.

It's not a typical CAMRA kind of place, a bit too hipsterish for that with a clientele to match, but fortunately not exclusively.
The food is good too formed in a foundation of proper 'homemade' chips, accompanied by burgers and such.
There's a small outdoor courtyard that's pleasant enough (assuming a neighbour isn't smoking).
The staff seem to always be pleasant and helpful too.

R. B.Derby Brewing Company know a thing or two, or three, (I visit many of their establishments regularly) they brew some of the best ales you will taste anywhere in the UK.
They are friendly pubs with pleasant surroundings to suit most tastes. Especially mine, modern trendy but not tacky.
DBC still have one more trick up their sleeve. Their food is not only superb in any of their establishments. BUT! The icing on the cake - they have a new gluten free/free from menu, with no comprimising.
No, not a GF options menu. But an Actual GF menu. I was able to choose from burgers, burritos and nachos and ALL GLUTEN FREE! I do not mean they had the same stuff 3 different ways they had different stuff, different ways! GF baps/tortiilla wraps, and nachos. OH what JOY!!
I almost kissed the bar staff. This is what us Coeliacs and Vegans have been seeking. Now then where was I?
J. F.The Greyhound is an excellent pub with one of the widest selection of craft beers in Derby. It's friendly and cozy and very popular. Beers are often unusual and are regularly rotated.
