First time coming here for a while. The menu has really improved and there are a lot more options now including a seperate Vegetarian and Vegan menu. Staff taking our food was a bit rude, she asked if I had allergies I said that I can't have Cucumber and she responded with "I'm not sure what to do with that..." So I said as long as it isn't in mine and my partner's meal I'm ok it just makes me sick and she just laughed it off and our receipt said Allergies: No. Asked for some alterations on our meal, most were done apart from that they put peas on my partner's meal when we said we didn't want this on and it was repeated back to us when ordering. This was sorted out but we had to wait for our side so had to ask for that even though we asked for it to come out with our mains. We had to tell them what we had ordered as they weren't sure which side we missed even though we only ordered one. Halloumi, Mushroom and Pepper very nice but so so messy, I asked for it without mayo and even then it was all coming out as I was eating it, glad I had lots of tissues with me as my hands were so sticky afterwards. It was nice though. My partner ordered the Gammon and Chips with 2 eggs, the Gammon was really nice but the eggs had been precooked and then left under a heater as the egg was hard which means it wasn't cooked fresh which was a shame. Toilets were ok, water was absolutely freezing in both toilets. Only soap in one of the dispensers in the ladies. Even though a little loo roll down the toilet the toilet wasn't flushing, it was making a dripping noise the whole time and just wasn't coping with a bit of tissues. Not very hygienic. Especially considering we should be washing hands in hot water and using soap for 20 seconds.....

A place I have driven past a million times. I haven’t been here for about 7 years and have been twice this weekend!!! A Beautifully welcoming pub with friendly staff, great food and the perfect ambiance. (They show the football too). If you’re passing or in the local area and need a place to wind down, I’d definitely recommend The HollyBrook. Also another place that survived through the pandemic, suggesting how popular it is. 💫

Would've been 5 stars if there were extra staff on that day. The food quality is nice, I love the gammon, nice, thick and juicy. The price wasn't too bad but the timing was too long to wait. I'd go back again and hope to see some improvement then I will post another review.

Food was very reasonably priced. Nothing special but really nice. All came out in good time even with 6 ordering. Beer good, plenty of outside seating or inside. Didn't try any of the starters or deserts though deserts looked the usual at these sort of places.

You can book a place in advance or just pop in. Very good selection on the menu plus a range of set menus. Nice staff, cosy atmosphere, good free parking (but don't forget your car registration). Forth time here and also booked for Christmas.

We had a carvery delivered today and items were missing. The portion size would possibly just fill a 5 year old. We could not fault the taste of the food but was left disappointed with the lack of food we had. I mean it’s standard that you have a Yorkshire pudding on a carvery right? If this isn’t the case then maybe update the photos showing parsnips/Yorkshires 👍

We stopped here for lunch on back holiday Monday. Our starters (nachos) were served relatively quickly: it was a generous helping with lots of toppings. Unfortunately we then waited over an hour for our mains. It wasn't particularly busy. The food arrived after we went to the bar to chase. The food was quite nice and reasonably sized portions. However, there was no apology or explanation for the very long wait for food. For these reasons I would not return nor would I recommend a visit.

Been many times before and the service and food was great. On this visit I have to say the standards have dropped significantly. The tables were all sticky as were the menus. Food was average to say you're paying top end prices. Service was ok to be fair.

Our staff team went for Christmas dinner. It was ok for the price. The food felt processed and perhaps frozen products heated up. The staff were great very friendly and helpful. Overall you get what you pay for. Nice place for a cheap meal as long as you don't expect much.

Can be quite busy at times and bar staff ask customers to tell them "who's next" (around 7 people waiting) where you would like them to manage this for you but this might have been the experience on the day we visited. Attended here but the food was not great. As ordered a fish and chips but had to return it and ask for something else. The bar it self is great and the staff friendly and welcoming. The venue is well designed and comfortable and has a great outdoors area to sit and eat and has a great atmosphere. I think they still do a quiz night on a Wednesday and is fun too. The Chief may have changed now as was awhile when I went so don't let it out you off.

A difficult one to review, from my experience. The staff were excellent, the traditional ales offered a good choice as did the menu. However,unfortunately, at only 5.00pm my table still had empty glasses on from the previous visitors from the moment I sat down to when I left, there seemed to be general acceptance of foul language from locals in the rear of the bar area which went completely unchallenged. The pub is clean, attractive and homely, situated in a really good location with plenty of parking.

Visited for the first time in many months for an evening meal. The menu has changed since our last visit with lots of choice both new and old. I have to say the standard of the food has improved significantly. I had a Mixed Grill and the steak was cooked perfectly. The other items on my plate were really nice being tender and juicy . My wife had the Hunters Chicken and cleared her plate before me which is very unusual. We couldn't resist a desert and I had a Marbled Chocolate and Raspberry Pyramid and my wife had a Belgian Chocolate and Irish Cream Mousse. Both were delicious and I couldn't resist trying them both. A special thank you to the young waitress who looked after us brilliantly. Well worth a visit.

Staff offer a professional and friendly service. Being lactose intolerant, I decided to remove the ice cream from my dessert. As soon as they became aware of this, every effort was taken to minimise my exposure to any allergens within the whole of my menu choices. A staff member went through each items possible listed allergen, checking if I would be still be able to safely enjoy it. This information is kept inside a red folder near the till and used to ensure that my experience is not only a good one, but a safe one. It wasn't all about the revenue generated, but how much I'd be able to truly enjoy my meal. Then she announces that they have an alternative to the dairy option and would I like to try it? Erm..yes. And it was lovely too! The toilets are clean, fresh and well maintained, loved the fragrant smelling soap. Loved, loved, loved the real fire!! I appreciate the effort your staff placed in making this very first visit to your establishment a successful one. Thank you.

Go here a few times a month with my Gran who suffers from dementia. The staff are wonderful and friendly, which creates a lovely warm atmosphere. Better than average pub grub: I reckon this is one of the better locals in my area for food, and is well worth checking out. It's one of several locals that my wife, young daughter and I like to go to - it's a decent size, with a modest (but still very nice) beer garden. When the weather is good , they'll often have a bouncy castle in the garden - this is great for kids (and is free). Lots of parking, too. Food - by and large - is pretty good, and the menu has a good selection. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal at The Hollybrook. I tend stick to standard lagers, though I think they also have a selection if proper beers (I can't comment on good or otherwise their choices are, however). All in all a nice, family-friendly pub where the food is pretty good, and where I've always found service to be top notch.

The drinks selection is varied and the quiz on a Monday and Wednesday is great value fun for £1. However the food is basic and isn't what I'd say it's best known for.

A great little pub on the edge of Derby. Its part of a chain so if you have been to another one in the series (The Broadway, Darley Abbey) then you will know what to expect. If you havent, it is a very nicely decorated pub/restaurant. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. The place is always clean, and inviting. The food is always served in an acceptable time and it is always cooked well. I have tried a few things on the menu and so far I have not been disappointed. It's a pub at the end of the day and as far as pubs go, this one is a pretty good one.

We had a beautiful meal at the Hollybrook it was our 1st visit but we have said that we will go again soon. We used to meet up at the Cherry tree as it was around half way for the 2 families but we got as we didn't want to go as it had gotten so noisy and carvery never changed the meat got to look as if it had been totally steamed as it was anemic and didn't taste like a roast joint should & it was always the same vegetables. So from now on it's the Hollybrook for us

Previously when we came here, the set menu which offered 2-3 courses made it very reasonable and the food was fair. However went there recently and it seems they have gotten rid of that menu and tried to go more "gastro pub". We had to wait a very long time for our food (3 people dining on a weekday) and when it came, it was really nothing to rave about. I was disappointed in this change as we really did like coming here, but will be unlikely to do so again.

This is a very nice pub BUT the ladies toilets constantly smell, this seems to be since the refurbishment of the pub was done. The smell is that bad at times you feel sick. This is a big let down to a lovely pub, you need to get this sorted.
