L. W.We held our civil partnership party at The Orange Tree in May 2022. We have been to the bar for drinks before and was glad that we could hire it all for the whole day. Kieran and the team were really helpful and accommodating, whilst we planned what we wanted to do and in hosting the day itself. Kieran was quick in responses to our many queries and was always available to meet and run through things.
Our party was great, there was lots of fun, laughter and dancing. We had our own playlist in the day and used a recommended DJ (Bob)for the evening, who played what we wanted. Food was provided by the Wonky Kitchen and we and our guests had a fabulous time. We would definitely recommend using The Orange Tree for a special event.

The staff were spot on - really friendly, accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. They even did a personalised cocktail menu for the happy couple, which was a lovely touch. The cocktails were delicious and very reasonably priced, especially for a Saturday night in town! Would highly recommend. Thank you Orange Tree!!!
D. D.Private function upstairs. Lovely room. 2 barmen were fantastic, funny and just helped make the night great. Only downside was that the music was so loud downstairs we could hardly hear our music due to it being open plan.
Z. E.Really nice little venue tucked away in the back streets of Derby. Had the event room for a party and it had a great atmosphere and design. Good selection of drinks but quite expensive.
The space would probably hold about 50 people max without feeling too over crowded. They also allowed external catering which was good!

M. D.I'm not a massive fan of cocktails - let's just get that out the way. Quite small pub with a small bar and can take a very long time to be served. Outside seating is available, but a lack of seating overall, they have these long desks but unless you like playing footsie with your friend then these are just not an option you would take.
Upstairs function room is quite spacious but apart from the events they have on I've never seen the bar up there open, samll balcony overlooking flats.
All in all an okay pub, a bit on the small side and can get pretty busy at times
j. r.Great place for a social drink. Popular with students, good eclectic music mix. Visited on a saturday evening early ish when it wasnt too busy but can get rammed later on. Staff are friendly. Has a smoking area out back that's quite large with benches. Also has an area upstairs with sofas that can be hired out. Staff are friendly and good selection of gins.
f. w.We hired the loft for our wedding reception on bank holiday weekend. It was absolutely fabulous. All the guests loved it. The location is brilliant especially having a taxi rank on the corner. The staff are phenomenal and go the extra mile to make it your perfect event. Would book it again and have recommended to everyone

V. K.My sports club hired a room upstairs for our end of season event. the room was great we even had our own bar. However the music from downstairs was so loud that we could hear people that were giving their speecher and had to shout over each other. Their microphone system turned out not to work too. We brought our own food there but they didn't have cutlery either so we just brought our own. Over all it was a good event though. The room was very cozy and the bar was very suitable and appropriate for the event.

We stumbled upon this little out of the way drinking hole while in Derby. The staff and very attentive, friendly and helpful. We had to have the No-Jito mocktail and im glad we did as it was a beautiful drink. The playlist was awesome and made me want to chill and listen to the music all day. All in all a fantastic pub and a place to relax and chill. We will most certainly be coming back.
B. B.The Orange Tree has a really good selection of beers and cocktails, catering to all tastes including those of the discerning ale drinker. While this is definitely more of a bar/club than a pub, it isn't so upmarket that you can't show up in jeans and a t-shirt without feeling awkward.
The music is generally pretty middle of the road, I remember them playing tunes from the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack when I first visited. It isn't uncommon to see people dancing in here, although there is limited floorspace to do so.
The bouncers were really friendly, as were the bar staff, who have a pretty decent knowledge of the stuff they're pouring and seemed to be having a good time mixing up cocktails. There's also a pretty nice outdoors area for the smokers in your group.
The Orange Tree is a great place to go when you fancy something a bit different to the pub, but don't want to have to deal with the hustle and bustle of a packed night club.
T. B.We only went in for drinks. There was a nice, busy feel about the place. Good atmosphere. Very friendly and fast service. Great music.
E.We went on a Wednesday night, it was very quiet downstairs, we were upstairs at a function! The upstairs had lovely casual sofas and chairs, with its own bar. Very enjoyable night, prices were not to bad!

I couldn't have chosen anywhere better, the venue was perfect for what we wanted & the whole event was a huge success.
