Reviews of The Peacock Inn
B. M.
The peacock Inn derby, where to begin.
Growing up in rural Galway I am no beginner when it comes to enjoying a good ale pub.
When you walk through the door at the peacock you are initially greeted with the fantastic number of casks and kegs they have in their selection, much greater than other pubs in 'derby'.
I have visited this establishment several times, I've visited on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and have seen the multitude of staff they have to offer. The young people working the bar are especially proficient and friendly at their jobs, as I recall the three young lads and young girl are all friendly and professional whilst providing great service.
this pub is definitely a cultural staple in the area, the magnum opus of the area if you will. The only improvement I would suggest for the establishment is to gain that mainstream appeal it seems to be lacking, to expand into the city centre pub staples and to gain more traction in that regard.
in conclusion, I hope to visit again today and regard it as a great experience, great ale, great young staff and amazing service! a definitive staples of the area for an Irish visitor like myself.
please pass this message onto our staff!

It's a really nice pub & the bar staff are very friendly. Went to see Mick Moonshine & his country music disco. A really good night with great music.

Great bunch of patrons as usual. Staff friendly. Feel comfortable going in there a lone female. Always someone to talk to, whether its a first time visit or as a returning customer.

Good choice of real ales, pleasant and accommodating staff. It's slightly off the main drag, but worth the visit & close to another worth going to pub, the Furnace Inn.

A friendly little pub selling BIG real ale mainly from the Hartsorne stable but plenty of surprises also on tap . A little Gem on the rise!

Always great for quality ale which Roger and Penny keep in superb condition.
Visited the first night of their beer festival which didn’t disappoint.
Every beer was spot on and the chat flowed all night until I left much later than I’d originally planned I was enjoying it so much. Brilliant pub. Thanks both.

The Peacock is a great little pub. The sort of place that is rapidly disappearing. The beer is varied and in excellent condition. There is often a choice of nine ales and many of them locally sourced. It's a beer lover's paradise.

Proper pub with great beer and food. Every pub Roger and Penny have will always be great just like the friar gate that catered for council workers like me! Cheers

This is a nice little pub no heir's or graces, they just need to realise that its not just real ale drinkers that enjoy a drink here , the lagers need to be looked after also . nice atmosphere and good guys behind the bar

A rare treat, a traditional pub that hasn't been modernised to death. Old school bench seats under a window, beer poured straight from a barrel and five more on draught. On that note I had Bass from the barrel and it was so good I strayed no further. The only downside is that Derbyshire list the cricket match.

Friendly service and atmosphere. Fantastic band. Thanks for a great evening.

Lovely little pub. I come with my family sometimes when little bands are playing and the atmosphere is always amazing. BBQ was a bit on the expensive side so I started away from that and just ordered food when I got home. (Which was a bit of a pain because I was hungry, but I wasn't going to spend the price for one slightly burnt burger.)

One of my favourite pubs. Beer ok, nice front room with photos of the old baseball ground, just feels like a welcoming local when of you're not local

Good selection or real ales, but they are often light beers, both in colour and ABV. Look out for their beer festivals. Always an excellent selection.
