Bit of a weird one, a pub that only serves Mexican food or a mexican restaurant that serves in a pub, either way the food was ok, well presented but definitely street food style, felt like I should have ordered more or a selection of dishes tapas style as i found the portion sizes a little small for me. The nachos were incredibly salty and the whole meal lacked any typical mexican dressings, no sour cream, guac or salsa. For anyone wanting some spice there was nothing on the menu with any, and the only hot sauce available barely added any heat so if your looking for spice take your own. Not sure I'd make a special trip to return but if I was drinking in the pub I'd probably grab some tacos as a snack again.

Really good city center bar that manages to retain a local pub feeling. Excellent selection of alcoholic drinks both cask and keg including tap takeovers/brewery showcases, nice range of continental and craft bottles and cans. Food is provided by El Contador and is Mexican street food, it's also absolutely superb. The brisket tacos are probably the best I've ever had and you get 3 per portion which is really good value; however, between 5 and 9 on a Tuesday you get 2 portions for £10... which is outstanding value. The outside area is small but perfectly decent, the roof terrace is good but you can't smoke or vape on it. Staff are all really nice and friendly. The DBC app is a genius idea, all food and drinks are ordered and payed via it, it's fast, efficient and should probably be copied by other places.

The pub is big. They have an outside area too and a terrace upstairs. They have good selection of beers! We had dinner here and the size was reasonable for the price. The bar tender was so nice answering my questions about beers and even offered me to have a taste before I ordered my choice that night. I recommend this place!

Never fails to have an ale I like, been 3 times in a year and love the place. A selection of 6-8 ales as well as craft and ciders. It's normally busy especially at weekends but that's a sign of a good pub. Don't except camra card only downside. Modern looking and houses a function room

A great stop off on any Derby pub crawl and honestly worth a visit in its own right. Extensive stock of beers something for everyone, helpful staff who encourage the use of an APP to order drinks or get seated and they will take your order at the table. Track and trace upon entry with seating indoors and out with an option to climb the stairs from the ground floor beer garden to a terrace overlooking the River. I turned up on a Monday approx 16:30 hours with the outside areas popular due to dry weather but plenty of seats available, I would imagine that during busy times the terrace gets full so maybe reserve in advance.

We were on the Brewery tour but had to leave the Tap earlier than expected the management team and kitchen staff did everything they could to make our visit enjoyable. I would also recommend the Derby Brewery tour amasing to see how much Beer is brewed there.

Honestly guys... Such a gem in Derby Under new management, Zack, Tom and Dave are doing an amazing job running the place. Has some amazing craft beers and I highly suggest you visit if you get the change. The food is also great from what I've tried, amazing lunch time deals and their chips are just 👌 Their social distancing rules are on point and they take it very seriously, which is really nice to see in a Pub environment. Their prices are a bit high if you don't know what to order, but the stuff are happy to help if you ask them to recommend the best drink for flavour and price 😊 If you're in Derby, I would highly suggest a visit! :D

Corner Bar just over a bridge from central Derby. Small on the outside but spacious on the inside, looks like a recent makeover or renovation. Plentiful ales ranging in style, taste, serving size and price. Mainly from the DBC range with its award winning Business as Usual to the fore. Served meals also at a reasonable price which was another reason for going there. Had the Fish Pie which was very nice, although it came with Chips which was a little odd. Maybe more Pie less chips would cost more so a balancing act. Landlord was pleasant and helpful in serving and asking if all was OK. Even came to the door to check as we left. Overall happy to recommend it.

Nice welcoming staff. On this occasion we couldn't get to the bar due to the covid regulations for this place but they had an app, it was a little difficult to use and I had to really make sure I had ordered the right thing. However the ale we were served was nice and well kept.

Great beer, as always, but the food was very mediocre compared to last time I went. You used to be able to rely on The Tap to serve a good quality burger and chips but this time it was like a tacky fast food place. Small burger in a cheap sesame bun with some skin on frys in a black plastic basket!

Excellent choice of well kept real ales and craft beers. If you like your single malt whiskys then, there is also a very good selection to choose from with the lesser known distilleries. Also good choice of spirits. Lovely place, very cosy. The only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5, is the meal I had was average, which may have been because it was a quiet Monday night.

Been coming here for years and it never fails to deliver on quality ales. Always a good selection available. Try the cheese and ale taster rack too for a real treat. Do yourself a favour and put this place on your ale trail next time you're in Derby. Go on, you know it makes sense.

This is a traditional pub with a good selection of beers. There is only one cider on tap though. It is not the biggest pub but has two main areas downstairs with seating at tables or higher tables made from large barrels. They also serve food. The Tap holds an Open Mic night on Tuesdays.

Good range of beers, food of variable quality, modern decor and layout, pricier than other pubs locally. Crowded and noisy on a Friday or Saturday night. I personally prefer a more traditional pub, if you have similar preferences suggest the Exeter arms just round the corner. If you want the same range of beers but a better selection of food then the Greyhound is better.

One of our favourite local pubs. Great beer - I am a huge fan of Liefmans fruit beer which is on draught - and my partner likes to sample the changing range of beers as well as Derby Brewing Co's own beers. I love the 5 bean chilli nachos! The Tap is primarily a drinking pub so there's a fairly limited menu anyway, and not much choice for us veggies, however I never tire of the nachos 😁
