J. H.A fine establishment. Welcomed by a log fire and classic/vintage brown decor reminiscent of the 60s. I would go as far to say it was all original, a rare find in today's age, kept well. Light brown carpets with a lighter brown tinge to the walls. All the tables and chairs were a befitting brown to compliment the darker browns of the woodwork. The curtains were a Hessian brown to match the carpets. I loved it. I was welcomed by a young chap who knew his beers. I ordered half a "dark brown" ale at a comfortable 2.8% abv. I am a big fan of my browns and this one was nothing special in particular, but it was just right. A vintage brown establishment with excellent brown ales. A connoisseurs choice.
J. M.Wow. It's like walking back into 1970, for a good reason. All electronics are banned (phones, iPads etc). It's all about good conversation and pub games like darts and pool. Beer prices are reminiscent of 1970 as well. The pricey Extra Stout is £2.30 a pint. Wow. What a find.
