Covid-19 update April 2021 Outdoor drinking only. Check in with the NHS app or they will take down your details. There's hand sanitiser. Find a free table. They will take your order. It's still only 2.50 a pint. My 1st time in a UK pub this year. My closest pub. There's a clear sign at the entrance on a table saying please wait to be shown to a table. There's also hand sanitiser on the table. The friendly barmaid took my name and phone number and pointed me to a table, saying come to the bar when I'm ready to order. There are perspex screens at the bar. Surprised (nicely) that a pint of their own beers is still only £2.50 a pint :-) I will be back since they care about craft beer and my safety! Nice craft beer place with 3 of their own beers on tap (although 1 beer wasn't available). No wifi. A beer fridge as well. A pint of their own beer was a reasonable 2.50

If you took this pub and it's Friday / Sat night acts and placed it in many other areas of the UK it would be rammed all night. Having moved to the area recently this was the first town centre pub I'd visited. There are not many pubs which have not been knocked about and turned into a spoons \ Yates etc type pub, although the Hallcross has seen some work it retains a lot of it's rustic charm, it boasts one of the tallest bars I've come across in my life! The pub has a number of TV's showing sports, which is good. It serves a good range of ales lagers and the usual pub drinks, the local beers are all quite good,they do have bar snacks in the form of pre packaged sandwiches etc so it's not a pub for foodies! The real charm to this pub is the Friday and Sat entertainment... I have seen some very good local talent on the Friday night open Mike sessions I have also seen some fantastic tribute bands and recently a folk night which was probably one of the most entertaining and enjoyable nights I've had for a long time! The only downside to the pub is the lack of customers, which surprises me, I've been to pubs which load an extra £1 to pints in order to pay for the acts, at the Hallcross, you can get CHEAPER beers in the form of Grolsch or Tetleys for only £2.00 a pint! I feel the venue should advertise better as they have everything going for them but people don't seem to know what they are doing... If you are looking for an entertaining evening in Doncaster, you ought to check out this pub, it's a good honest pub with a friendly relaxed atmosphere with a gig room where some seriously good acts play!

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, sports on the tv, good price for food and drink. What more could you ask for? The food is provided by no clucks which is all vegan and tastes amazing. My wife loves it (she is vegan) I also love it even though I’m not veggie or vegan. It’s still amazing should give it a go!

Great place with great pub atmosphere from as soon as you walk in. Live music was playing and the pub wasn't crowded at all. There's a good selection of guest ales which gets rotated on a weekly basis. Good value for money.

Went to the Hallcross after a day at the races. Was pretty hot, so needed a few good beers to quench the thirst!! Great selection, tried a few enjoyed them. Food was OK. Table service efficient and friendly.

Amazing pub and live music venue. They sell Newcastle brown and Red Stripe and reasonable price. Could do with aircon where band plays. Rear access for the band would make life easier. Great outdoor area.

While you wait 25 minutes for you order to be taken why not take a trip to the toilets to get a line of coke? Once finished, head back to your table in the carpark and take in the sweet smell of cannabis being smoked? Got your order taken, just another 20 minutes to actually get your drink. Use this time to spot how many teeth the meth addicts at the table opposite have? Then be entertained by the people leaving as they have only booked a table for an hour and still haven't had a drink. Seriously, Nelson Mandela would have thought his 26 years on robben island passed by quicker than waiting. Besides that,great place.

Great pub. Very good prices for town centre - the food from No Clucks is incredible. Sport on the TVs and live music. Easily the best bar in doncaster these days. The only negative I could say is that the bar is cash only, but theres 2 cash points within walking distance anyway so I couldn't possibly gripe at that.

I enjoyed the Hallcross as it is a very relaxed and chilled bar, plus they have a smart beer garden to the rear and a couple of large benches to the front, the staff are really nice and polite to all and new customers (me) plus they have a decent selection of tap ales and lagers plus bottles and spirit's but the best part is the nice cheap prices well done guys
