Lovely food, great atmosphere. Friendly staff, in a great building. Lovely wooden beams in ceiling and interesting decor. Food came in good time and was perfect. Plenty of room, tables not squished in like sardines as some pubs are. In our party we had Pie, Gluten free Burger, steak and Gammon. Nice, simple food, cooked properly, the way we like it.

A wonderful pub. Excellent service. Attentive staff who are very friendly, helpful and eager to help with any requests. A good menu that is good value for money. There is a good indoor seating area as well as an outdoor bit.

I didn't think much to Scawsby Mill before, like a just a pub lunch but...not anymore! I had a beautiful 16 oz T-bone steak, absolutely gorgeous. I told them that last time I had a steak there, that it wasn't great (I didn't know it was taken over and all new menu) and they made sure they cooked it to my liking, absolutely spot on. The Brownie Sundae was well worth the money, a full Brownie in it, felt a bit sick after but I did eat crispy squid starter, wings starter, plus steak 🙈 very filling, very tasty 😋 will definitely be dining again here!!!

in all honesty ive been here quite a while ago and i wasnt expecting much because last time it was cheapo frozen micro style food. but we gave the place a chance just because we was near. i was pleasantly shocked. nacho sharer starter was handmade machos plenty for us. for mains we had the mini mix grill and the 8oz steak. the steak was cooked just how it was asked for the mini mixed grill was great only down side if you was picky was the sausage wasn't the best but it was still edible. these were well worth the money for cheap lunch specials, they tasted nicer than some dearer meals at other places

Nice pub, friendly efficient staff. They looked actually concerned about our well being and enjoyment. The menu is quite extensive and varied. Usual pub meals and some a bit more unusual. reasonably priced. Quite a busy place, loads of families and couples. We did book and it turned out to be a good move as it was full when we got there.

We often visit here for food and drink and can honestly say it never disappoints. The food is always cooked and presented lovely. Most of the staff are very polite and attentive. Special mention to Courtney who has a very bubbly personality, she goes the extra mile to make sure we are well looked after, she is a credit to you. Overall a little gem of a place.

Great from start to finish. The food was really nice, well presented and tasted brilliant. Service was fantastic. Had a very attentive gentleman seeing to us outside and a lovely, bubbly, pretty lady taking our order at the bar, and even made our desserts special herself haha. We were well taken care of and even though the lady had explained they were slightly short staffed and asked us to bare with them, there was no disruption to the service, we were still dealt with quickly and efficiently and she still made fun conversation with me and gave us 5 star service. Will 100% be returning for the quality of the food AND the staff.

Upon arrival in the car park, this place just looks different to other establishments in Doncaster, you get a sense of something unique about the place. It didn't disappoint when we entered the building either, it is lovely and welcoming and that leads me onto the staff. The staff were all pleasant from start to finish and the food was awesome. Not only did it taste great, it looked amazing too. This has possibly been one of my best experiences in a pub/restaurant (bar/grill) and it was an all round great experience, we will certainly be coming back again. I thoroughly recommend this place and I can't praise you all highly enough. Thanks. Edit: We were aware of a new outdoor section being built which looked nice mid-build, we mentioned whilst we were eating that we would like to come back soon to see what it looked like.

stopped coming here around 5 or 6 years ago because the food wasn't good however just been today and all i can say is WOW. the food was good and hot. the staff although rushed off their feet still managed to be efficient but had time for each customer. needless to say it looks like becoming our new regular eating place. loved it

Staff great food was ok apart from my chicken part of my small grill meal. It looked cooked perfectly. But it was hard to swallow it was so dry. I had as much as could manage our dog got the rest.. Having said that I would ho again.

Nice place to go for a drink with friends. We went on a Sunday evening and thought we would have plenty of time to catch up with our friends. We were approached by a member of staff about 9.40pm to ask us if we wanted another drink as they were closing at 10pm. I had checked on the internet before we went and it clearly states they close at 11pm on Sunday. This needs changing so customers know.

I think the new beer garden and decking is lovely and very tastefully done. It has definitely made me want to visit more often during the lovely weather we've had. However, I have noticed there are fly catchers hung in the potted plants, one which is right next to a table. I find it quite upsetting to see trapped flies. As as much as people hate them, they pollinate plants and are just as much needed for our planet as bees. Also I can't imagine anyone would want to sit beside a container full of flies whilst having their meal.

There was a queue to enter to be shown to your table. It was one of the hottest days of the year but no air conditioning. Waiting awhile for taking our order then another long wait for our drinks and again for our food. Small portions on huge plates. Steak sandwich at £10.99 was 3 tiny chunks of rump steak covered in a bit of melted cheese between 2 slices of baguette.(garlic bread slice size). Skin on chips were nice. Gravy sauce induced with something not nice in a little pan. Doubt ill be visiting again

Fajitas were full of flavour, went well with the Halloumi. Staff were polite and the order was timely. One thing to note is that you get a sause selection perfect if your a picky eater. I can say that I throughout my enjoyed the meal. The side of chip reminded me of homemade, went well with Tomato Ketchup although they are nice enough to eat or there own.

Not a good visit at the end of May, poor knowledge on allergens so poor choice. I had oven chips, but they were overcooked so like wood. Normally great but the service was good, just not the food and knowledge. Reply to response: All ingredients and contamination risk should be known and available. Inconsistent from visit to visit. Wooden chips are a no-no.

Me and my lady were taken here by my eldest son and his partner as a lovely surprise. We were taken almost immediately to a table and the very friendly staff brought us drinks to the table. We asked for a jacket potato in our meal that wasn't on the menu with the steak we asked for, they added it with no problems or complaints. It seemed a long while for the food to arrive, but it was cooked from fresh and was definitely worth waiting for. The prices were a little more than I was expecting at £68 for 4 meals and drinks but my wife says I'm too tight!. Parking is very good, the place is clean and tidy with rustic roof beams, looking forward to going again.....

I must say that upon visiting this pub restaurant i was expecting the run of the mill big chain menu. But upon arrival i was blown away by how clean and maintained the pub looked the manager has got an eye for detail has all gardens are pristine also we was personally greeted by the manager on arriival and he looked ater us impeccably during iur time there and all staff were so professionall and courteous and helpful i was surprised to find out that they are upgrading the garden area so i will definitely be visiting the venue again numerous times as i have said the pub is so well kept and the food is absolutely beautiful and not cooked from frozen as eighty percent of pubs these days are

Telephoned at short notice for a table early Friday evening. The lady I spoke to (landlady/manageress, I suspect), was professional, courteous & accommodating. They only had one 'bar' table available, with high stools for seating. I explained that my mother was 86, so their bookings sere shuffled around to accommodate our short-notice visit. We were very impressed. The warm welcome & personal service we received on arrival was equally impressive. It was a pleasure to see a choice of at least 2 real ales on offer) a great improvement on the single 'Bombardier' offering that used to be available in years gone by. I tried the 'Yardbird' which was very pleasant - great taste, well kept & served cold. On our next visit, I'll try the other real ale and we'll eat there as well. A very positive customer experience. A clean, well-managed venue and very pleasant staff. Highly recommended. ++++++

I didn't like the carrots they were too thick n crunchy, the Brockley I left as I couldn't even cut through it it was so hard. Changed a bit. Looks lovely inside. Waited for 31 minutes for our meal and had to ask for our meal twice. Staff kept saying that others are waiting for theirs too. We felt that this was too long. Food finally arrived and it was lovely. Sweetcorn has been cooked for too long. After our meal we asked for a discount due to the wait time, we explained that we had children/ dog to pick up so hadn’t planned to be there for so long. They ignored us and said that their standard time is 25 minutes!! Others had been waiting for 45 minutes! They gave us £4.44 discount for two people which was good but at the same time it’s not much, £2.22 each so I asked for more and was met with hostility. They offered us pudding for free, we declined as we would’ve had to wait 20 minutes! Such a shame! They’ve let themselves down.

Booked a Xmas party meal no table done up..didn't seem very organised at all qe went a few wwwks ago and service was brilliant but today service not any near as good ...drinks took ages to get to the table had to eat over 20mins has to ask twice too....when starters came no cutlery on the table no sauces on the table had to ask....had steak chips and salad and tomatoes for main the chips and steak were only just warm and again had to ask for cutlery pudding was ok but again no cutlery had to ask just feel let down when this has been booked fir the lady to say at the end we didn't release u were a Christmas party booking but we ordered off the Christmas menu and we had told them when we booked ..got sone crackers at rhe end but not impressed at all this time..x

This restaurant actually merits a 3.5 out of 5 stars. Had we not experienced a number of service failings, it would've merrited 4.5 stars. My fiancee and I are visiting good friends here in Doncaster. We're from Canada. It was our first evening/dinner out and a first visit to Scawsby Mill - including my friends. While perusing the tap beer selection, the manager graciously offered me some free samplings. We all ordered the Wednesday dinner special: Curry with a pint - except our friends daughter - and the meal was superb. Unfortunately a) my 'clean' tableware still had food on it, b) the daughter found a hair in her meal c) the waitress promptly acted upon it but then failed with the follow-through; we'd all finished eating when the daughters fresh plate finally arrived! Another apologetic waitress assured us she'd 'make it right', went to refill our order of drinks, then failed to return. Our first waitress, now more apologetic, retrieved our drinks. These several service faux pas' cost the Mill almost 12 pounds - 'making it right'. Would we revisit the Mill - yes! Hopefully, they'll have properly dealt with these service incongruities by the next time.

The food and the atmosphere seems to of been given a new lease of life after the takeover, thank god! No play area or child friendly zone for them. Apparently many moons ago it used to have a play area in the barn at the back but there is nothing there now and we were disappointed that they hadn't capitalised on this coming in. Place is nice, staff friendly apart from one who was confused when he got his own order name incorrect then sternly kept repeating the wrong order to us whilst holding the food in his hand at the table and one bar staff throwing bottles in the glass bin was annoying as it was extremely loud and not what you want to hear when having a meal and a chat with friends, food was ok, I got an 8oz steak which had a big piece of fat running through, no mushrooms at all, very few peas and chips and one and a half onion ring but was all warm this time, my partners chicken was cold but rest was ok, my mates chips had the flu. I did find it strange that no one asked us how our meals was just dropped it off and never saw anyone until we left and there wasnt many people in so wasnt busy, its a nice little place but I would advise if having a meal with friends sit well away from bar and remember to get your own menu, condiments and cutlery. If these little bits of constructive criticism wasn't here I would be totally happy but not sure if I'll go back again as I must admit ive eaten better for less and in nicer places. But still not a bad eatery in my opinion but it's standards have definitely dropped over the years.

Was ok called in for Sunday dinner, was later in the day is that makes any difference but the Sunday roast was a bit of let down, we have had much better in a Toby Carvery when you can have different Mei tire of meats and choose your own veg etc. And it’s cheaper at a Toby For a set mail I would have expected something better and not tough meat ether, same as nice place too, looks busy which is normally a sign too. We may have caught them at the wrong time who knows, probably try again but not the Sunday dinner. Might help the Mangement to visit other places to see and then compare.
