Nice friendly pub with a good covered smoking area and classic toilets. Ran out of Kronenbourg, needs another strong lager on tap.

One superb evening with the back room wrinkly string section and one penny whistle.
Priceless experience
Only on a Monday

Lovely little pub. Great atmosphere polite bar staff. Landlord and landlady very friendly. Good prices
F. W.
Awesome pub, awesome staff. Followed the landlord and land lady through three pubs and all have been great. Chilled and relaxed, great place.
G. W.
Very brief visit between trains, great old fashioned pub with excellent beer, a warm welcome and an RMT meeting in the other room.
G. S.
Always friendly and welcoming with well kept real ales available. Handy for a quick pint between trains as the station is 5mins away
M. M.
Great friendly pub, which serves a range of beers and lagers.
T. L.
Shouldn’t be pushed out of a reserved table just because “I’m regular and I always sit here” this is why it’s called a PUBLIC house. It’s also far too small to be reserving areas for a “Select” few
J. H.
Lovely place to enjoy great company, and thanks for the great beer 🍻
T. L.
Great beer. Proper pub. Loved it.
J. R.
Atmospheric pub with some nice historical features and good real ale.
R. W.
This pub was friendly enough could do with a good lick of paint and perhaps fetching into the present day it's what I would call an old man's pub were they don't want change and they have their regulars who also like the pub how it looks .
J. W.
Great little boozer with a nice relaxed atmosphere and really friendly staff 😁
L. H.
A bit clicky in the tap end but friendly enough. Old fashioned pub with a good selection of beers. Couldn't find the gents but admittedly I had had a few.
T. H.
It's a good old pub
G. M.

S. B.
Lovely old fashioned pub and fantastic staff one of the few places that can do a Guinness shandy
l. I.
Great pub friendly staff and great atmosphere
T. L.
Traditional pub, full of locals / regulars. Stuck in a bit of a time warp though as it's cash only. And the glasses for spirits are still the tiny (less than half pint) size. And don't even ask for ice, you'll get TWO cubes. I know there's global warming but we're not in a drought yet.
M. D.
Wasn't very welcoming at first .... Think they thought I was a Gillingham fan or something. Seems a couple of the regulars were intent to scare off the football natives, didn't quite work on me. Stayed the course, such a lovely small boozer and the regulars where actually top notch. Friendly staff also, nice beer at the right prices.
A. G.
Fantastic friendly pub which takes great pride in the condition of its Ales amongst which is the great Acorn Barnsley Bitter
S. W.
Great traditional pub in the heart of Donny, a must for avoiding the hustle and bustle bars. Great beers at great prices. Lovely warm fireplace in the back room. Great little boozer.

Great little pub nice to see a city centre pub that's not been knocked about! You have to visit it, beer was nice... dubious aboutbje watermelon ale... may go back for a taste just to say I have! Definatley worth a visit if you want to step back into the era of proper pubs
J. W.
Visiting Doncaster by boat we collected a copy of the local CAMRA mag from Tourist Information and set about all the dog friendly real ale pubs in the town centre. And we found this gem and never returned to any of the others. The back room is just wonderful as are all the staff. We shall miss it.
