This was my first time visiting Thai At The Sal and it certainly won't the last, friendly welcome, attentive service. Really enjoyable atmosphere. Food came out fast and was bursting with flavours. The restaurant is upstairs, but you can order and eat in the courtyard if you wish which is a great addition for warm summer evening's. We are already planning our next visit.

Great outdoor seating area. Perfect for those sunny afternoons. Visited a couple of times while we were in Doncaster, even bumped into the Queen! Definitely a place to check out if you're able.

Great pub on the edge of the town centre, with a wide range of drinks available, absolutely tremendous outside area, and plenty of screens (and sport) to feast on. This pub is also dog friendly, and without doubt one of the best in the area. Look forward to going back

Fantastic and authentic Thai food. Not quite as spicy as I'm used to but I guess they cater for the English palette. Outside smoking area is fantastic, dog friendly and has outdoor heaters. Quiz night on Tuesdays. Very friendly staff and crowd.

review of the Thai restaurant. Wifi was down. friendly service. The food was very good. I lived in Thailand for a year or 2 and I'm a big fan of Thai food. Food prices were very reasonable. Nice to see some Thai staff working there. 3.70 a pint in Doncaster, are you kidding me???? That's almost twice the price of the 2 Wetherspoons and a third more than the Hallcross which has abetter selection of beers. Too expensive for Doncaster. Free wifi and nice decor but you need a 2nd mortgage to have a couple of pints here ;-)

It was our first time at "The Sal" tonight. We had a great time. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. It was our first time ordering Thai food and the waitress helped us out and recommended us a great meal. Prices were spot on. The atmosphere inside was really warm and friendly. Downstairs in the pub the football was on and the place was quite full, upstairs all but 2 tables were full and although it was loud it wasn't booming or echoie like in some places. All in all we had a lovely evening and will definitely be going back soon. I would recommend "The Salutation" to everyone.

Nice place. Descent pint. Now they've extended the garden at the rear it's even better than it was. The food is spot on. I've had the satay chicken and homemade chips and that's nice, as is the similar beef.

It used to be a brilliant pub, good beer and a great atmosphere to meet for a drink and a chat, but now TVs all over and blaring music. The beer is still good though, just turn the ruddy music down so people can talk. They’ve turned the music and TVs down! Well done Salutation, I salute you, and excellent pint, and I could hear what my companions were saying!

Excellent location, excellent beer, excellent staff. The facilities are gorgeous. A wood interior giving a classic pub feel. There is a large outdoor seating area. The Thai restaurant upstairs is excellent and food can be ordered down to the pub at certain times. A true Doncaster gem at the top of the High Street. Tends to get a nicer clientele than some of the pubs further in town

The Outside part of it is a nice place where you can have good time with your friends. It have some hype, nice design, lights. The bad thing is the lack of education on some individuals that will start to walk on chairs and tables. This spoils all the good impressions about the location (I think should be introduced some restrictions and rules of conduct). Update 2022: recently have been there a few times and I can confirm that I enjoyed the place and the people as well. 5☆ and recommended ))

Met tonight by a lovely waitress/bar tender called Tiffany, from the moment we walked in to the moment we left she made us feel welcome. Her knowledge of what was behind the bar was impeccable and her customer service was absolutely outstanding! The lady even offered to bring our drinks to our table. I definitely would visit here again and I truly believe the young lady who served us genuinely deserves a drink on the house.

Had a fantastic meal at 'Thai at the Salutation.' We had a very warm welcome , delicious food and the staff are very attentive. The sharing platter starter was delicious followed by a superb main of Weeping Tiger and a lamb shank dish which just fell off the bone! The price was reasonable too. I would definitely recommend this place!

We had heard good things about the Thai restaurant that is above the main pub and we were not disappointed. The decor is tasteful and modern, there is a great array of drinks. The food was delicious, we had one of the set menus for 2 and it was amazing. A great selection of dishes that are well presented and taste great. The beef masaman was really really good. The staff are all wonderful and took great care of us during our visit. Will definitely come again.

Currently open for outside dining and drinking both to the rear of the building and a cordoned off area next to the main road in front with orders taken online using a qr code that links to their website - good is predominantly Thai in origin with basics like sandwiches also available- all table either have umbrella coverings at the front or are under a large gazebo at the rear with gas space heaters

Popped in for a quick lunch of Thai food and we weren't disappointed! Excellent value for money! We had two drinks, two main meals and two side orders for £19.90! The food was customised to suit my vegetarian needs and arrived promptly to our table piping hot and served with a smile! Genuinely we couldn't have asked for more. Will deffinately be back again!

A great old pub downstairs with a good choice of beers and other drinks and a great atmosphere. The bar staff are young and really friendly. Upstairs is Ton's Thai restaurant,that food is beautiful,freshly cooked and authentic.The decor is lovely and all the staff and wonderful as is Ton the owner.I highly recommend you visit but book from Friday over the weekend. We had our wedding reception there two years ago it was amazing.

Didn't really feel it. You have to queue to get in and there were quite a few empty tables but staff kept walking passed us and ignoring us. It wouldn't of hurt to say someone will see to you in a minute. I can't even be bothered to finish this review. The place is just "BLAH"!

What a really amazing place. A traditional pub downstairs, catering for all your public house needs with charm and comfort. Just sat down in the stunning Thai restaurant upstairs that has an amazing contemporary feel, seamlessly coordinated with traditional Thai decor. The Thai At The Salutation is brilliant. It has filled the Asian food gap needed in Doncaster. The new restaurant is perfectly appointed and the food is 5 star authentic Thai cuisine. We'll done Graham, Ton and Josh.
