Lovely pub, the food was lovely and good value for money. We stayed the night in one of their guest rooms and it was good value for money ,room was clean and bathroom was newly fitted/redecorated so faultless. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Would highly recommend as a place to drink/eat and also as a place to stay.

Stayed for three nights. Nice, clean room with comfortable bed and clean towels. The first day we arrived the bathroom was a bit dirty, but it seemed to be clean the rest of our stay. One draw back was the number of rooms there were for one bathroom. Sometimes it was a bit of a race to make it there first. Overall, good food and drinks, friendly staff. A nice family-friendly pub!

I'm currently staying for a evening as I have work in the local area. Warmly greeted and shown to my room. Room is splendid, towels and shampoos etc left and most importantly, to me, clean as a whistle! Just had some food, a southern fried halloumi burger and salt and pepper chips to be precise, I must say that it was one hundred percent the best pub burger I have had EVER (and I've been in a plethora of them!). Drinks are reasonably priced and taste excellent. Currently awaiting sticky toffee pudding. 💯 reccomend for anyone, whether it be a pint, a meal or a overnight stay! If I could give it ten stars I would.

Enjoyed the pub quiz and the fact that every group - even the lowest-scoring ones - got a little prize, that was a nice gesture! Wasn't so keen on the ladies loos with their wonky seats, dodgy locks and general delapidation. The pub looks so nice from outside, but the ladies toilets were a real let-down.

Fantastic find. Planning a visit to Durham on a walking holiday we looked at the Queens Head as a place to stay and decided against it, probably for all the wrong reasons. Then ended up walking past at a time when we needed to eat and deciding to take a look. What a surprise. I can't comment on the bedrooms but the pub itself was spot on. Clean, well presented and welcoming. Friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic food which was great value. The only regret was that instead of a short walk to a bed for the night we had to walk to our more expensive hotel in the town centre, which was easily accessible. If we make the trip to Durham again we'd have no hesitation in looking at the Queens Head before considering anywhere else.

Been here a few times now with my girlfriend, when we visit Durham. Can not speak highly of this place. The gentleman who has dealt with us on both occasion has been brilliant and is always so friendly with our dogs (despite the barking). I'd definitely recommend the starters too!!!! Portions are HUGE! Accommodation is nice and food is perfect. It is worth mentioning that a kind staff (or owner probably) of this pub send my heavy luggage by his own vehicle to my college for free. It just made that day special and bright.

We loved it first time we went before Xmas Sunday lunch was gorgeous piping hot plenty veg for everyone and friendly. We went in today three adults two kids. What can i say. Faultless!! Roast pork with roasted parsnips mash and Yorkshire pudding. Then side dish of cabbage broccoli and little roasted chantenay carrots. Little cauliflower cheese came on plate with meat. £8.95 for adult meals £5.95 for kids meal. I can't fault the quality of produce or the portion quantity for the meal. Value for money. Its lovely venue and staff eager to make ur visit as warm as it can be even with post covid environment. Roasties were missed off but young lass straight out with piping hot fresh Roasties delicious. Attending to anything we needed. Most certainly a recommended place to enjoy a lovely family meal out. Will be back. Thank you to staff and owner for a lovely Sunday experience.

The Queen's Head has become one of the best food pubs in Durham since its refurbishment. An excellent atmosphere and friendly staff. You are well cared for when you are there and remembered when you return. I'd recommend this pub to anyone, individuals, couples, families or groups.

Meat and Yorkshires okay got cauliflower cheese on after both messaging on order and speaking to pub saying only on one and carrots were raw and the delivery man when he stated it was paid for I said it wasn't and he swore using f word went of to vehicle to check if it was paid very dissapointed on service and meals first and last time anybody else be wary if considering them
