Reviews of Badger & Co
N. B.
We went to Badger and Co for dinner and we were so pleased with our experience. The first thing we noticed was the overall delightful atmosphere, classy looks and distinctive vibe; and the fact that the staff ensured we were cozy and looked after. Followed by the food that was carefully prepared and beyond wholesome. We will definitely be going back and can recommend this place as one that will not disappoint!
A. C.
A beautiful setting with fantastic food and very warm/accommodating staff. A perfect family fine dining experience for us and yet plenty of couples also enjoying a more sophisticated drinks and dinner experience. We saw the private dining space on the way down to the WC, definitely worth thinking about for a special occasion.
P. B.
Booked a table in advance and it did not disappoint. Very nice atmosphere and helpful staff. Haggis fries, burger and steak of the day were all very nice and cooked as was asked. We had some lovely cocktails to go with the meal as well. Highly recommend.

Hello, my name is Coco and I'm a dog 🐶
Today after a long walk I brought my humans to this fancy restaurant
The petting service was pawsome, the sausages were delicious and the nap I had while my humans were enjoying their food was pleasant
Very comfortable carpet, warm and cozy
I recommend this restaurant to everypawdy! 🐾

Very cool place with delicious food and kind staff. We were there 'just to have a coffe' but ended up staying for a pint and some small bites and this was a great choice. The place is beautifully decorated and a pleasure to visit.

Overall a nice experience. We went for drinks here yesterday. Interior was nice, very dark / dull though. Service was extremely slow (why they have lost a star). We arrived at 17:30 and by 18:05 I needed to usher a waitress to take our drinks orders. Cocktails didn’t arrived for another 15 mins so we sat there for almost one hour without any drinks. Again we needed to usher the waitress for our second round, pretty poor service. Cocktails were nice when they did eventually arrived. The cocktails in this picture are “Driving Miss Daisy” (nicest we had) and “Caribbean Crush” (not as nice). The Watermelon Sugar (not in picture) was lovely also!

My mum and I went here on our first night whilst staying in Edinburgh. This was such a warm welcome, it was super cozy, the food was delicious, staff were very friendly and over all we cannot find any faults. Definitely would come back here whilst visiting Edinburgh.
E. L.
What a beautiful restaurant. Portions were massive. Great vegetarian selection. Excellent service
j.
Lovely staff and atmosphere. Great selection of drinks - including BLUE MOON!
The plant burger was nice and the selection of fries available is great. Bathrooms small but clean. Nice place.
V. Y.
Very cozy place in the city centre of Edinburgh. I really liked the atmosphere indoors with the chilled music playing and some lovely scented candles going. The staff were all also very friendly and attentive.
The food was okay. It was good but nothing to rave about. I would make a point to say that their pies are actually POT pies not pies pies. But small naming thing. I enjoyed my night here, but would I return? Well. We’ll see.

Absolutely top class venue! Went here whilst visiting Edinburgh for the first time. Food was absolutely fantastic and service was faultless.
Impressed is an understatement and we ended up staying here all night. Area was also very pleasant and venue was very clean and tidy. Very good value for money and I'd have no hesitation in highly recommending Badger and Co! Thank you!

Found by accident. Staff were wonderfully accomodating and friendly. Good food. Great theme and surroundings. Allowed our spaniels in. Will be back.
r. 1.
What a beautiful place. Cozy, warm, inviting, great drinks and snacks in a perfect environment. Leaving this idyll "because you absolutely HAVE to see The Dome" was a mistake. And a lovely Finnish woman who served us. We could, and should, have stayed all evening.
A. W.
Lovely beer garden out the front with a cracking view of the castle. Staff very friendly & drinks nice and cold! Reccommended 10/10.
E. M.
One of my favourite dinners in Edinburgh. Really nice staff, really good drinks, amazing food. The hop scotch fries are amazing amazing starter. I always get the burger for a main. Love their margaritas and cocktails as well - interesting flavours and well made.
G.
Good food and nice atmosphere. The burger and haggis bonbon were great 👌

A great addition to the city and my partner and I are very happy to have visited on our trip to Edinburgh.
We booked 2 nights before and the process was simple and quick.
The venue was clean, tidy and well presented and we were quickly seated when we arrived. We only saw one room so initially I thought it was quite small but there seemed to be other rooms/floors so it might have been bigger. We went at 18:00 so we were expecting it to be busy but it wasn't too bad from our perspective.
Our waiter soon came over with water for the table and gave us menus. They then came back to take our order and our drinks and the food was prompt to arrive soon after.
The food was easily some of the best we've ever had and personally we thought good value for money. It was cooked to perfection. The desert was a little slow to arrive to the table but the waiter apologised a couple of times as she knew we had been waiting for a little while. Our water ran out during our food and she kindly brought some fresh over without us asking. It sounds minor but it was a nice touch not having to ask especially as there were larger tables around us.
We paid our bill and left wanting to leave a larger tip but where we were travelling around the country so we didn't have a large amount of change so we feel really bad. We think her name was Marionne ?? She delivered amazing service to us and the tables around us and she helped to make the night feel special for our anniversary.
We would definitely recommend adding Badger & Co to your list of places to visit when you're in the city.

What a great experience. Our engagement evening as a couple and we popped in after dinner in Leith. So glad we did as the service was absolutely amazing! Cocktails were great, atmosphere was really nice and had two window seats where we sat to drink and even ordered our desserts. The sticky toffee is out of this world! The waitress was so nice and was on her game. Even managed to get the chocolate sauce to read congrats 🥳 haha! Good effort! We would defo recommend this spot for after dinner cocktails and would recommend holding on for dessert here as it would be hard to beat!
H. K.
This is a decent city centre bar, with a nice atmosphere and cosy outdoor seating. They have a few vegan options, but they were pretty bland and the portions sizes were small for the money. I'd come back for drinks, but I wouldn't get food here again.
C. W.
We booked Toad Hall, the private dining room at Badger and Co, for our wedding celebration. We had a fantastic night, with wonderful food and faultless service. A lovely cosy space for gathering with family and friends for a special occasion. Very highly recommended.
A. G.
Amazingly tasty food and extremely friendly staff. We were interested in trying somewhere new and we're very happy they could fit us in.
The Haggis bon bons were banging and both the Moroccan Shepard's pie and Tweed Beef Burger were delicious. Brilliant night out!
C. H.
Fun! Didn't try any of their cocktails but my friends enjoyed them.
J. F.
Great food! Great service! Pot pies and curry mussels were fav. Good kids menu. Also great Scottish beer. Recommend
D. O.
Good food, excellent service !
P. K. K.
Brunch/lunch. Lovely setting, delicious food. Unfortunately, the reason we had booked was for the margarita offer but the restaurant had run out of the ingredients to make the cocktails. Disappointing.
R. M.
Amazing food and cocktails 🍹 lovely private rooms for parties and very hospitable staff. Really recommend for brunch, lunch, catch-ups and parties.
J. R.
An amazing restaurant. I love all the animal inspired artwork around the place. The venison was delicious. Service was good. However I was a little disappointed when I ordered a whisky, they asked how I would like it, I request it be served how ever they suggested (because I didn't know what was typical in Edinburgh), then was served the drink with ALL the options on the side (water & ice). It's a minor complaint, but when asked for a suggestion I don't want to be given a lost of all the options. Educate me So i can decide or make the decision for me.
Highly recommended.
B. T.
We went for the Badger's Boozy Brunch and wow, what an amazing value! You get so much food and 4 drinks (prosecco, coffee, juice, whatever) for only £25 per person. The wait staff was great, the dining environment was fun and funky with animal portraits and neon signage on the walls, the ambient music wasn't too loud or distracting, and the restrooms were clean and tidy. 5-stars all the way, and we'll absolutely be back the next time we come to Edinburgh.
I hope readers will find my review and pictures helpful.

Very nice atmosphere and good food. Service was very good overall. Our only complaint is that it was very warm and stuffy where we sat.
D. M.
Amazing. Went to go to TGIs and spotted the Xmas decorations and then the menu. Value for money was incredible and the portion sizes were so good. Will definitely be back. If you fancy a change from the norm then Badger & Co is the place for you. Ps. The Sunday Roast and desert for £15.95 is exceptional.
B. F.
This restaurant is very nice, well lit, and with a great selection of locally sourced meals. Went with the bread and meats platter which could have done with some cheese to go with it. The beef pie was piping hot, but the accompanying potatoes were a little sparse.
N. M.
Fantastic food and friendly staff. Both the bartender and waitress I encountered were knowledgable in their field and a pleasure to talk to. The decor of the place is delightful, and runs in the theme of "wind in the willows". The food was good quality and they also have a separate children's menu for those with youngsters. Overall a very pleasant experience on a rainy day in Edinburgh. Would highly recommend.
C. L.
Delicious Sunday roast with very generous portions. The service was excellent - they even went out of their way to get us set up in the bar area to watch the last race of the F1 season on the tele. Would highly recommend!
D. C.
Wow ! This was simply fab.
The boozy brunch board deal is excellent value as theres a whopping 4 drinks per person included.
The decor is sumptious yet comfy and relaxed and the staff were absolutely lovely.
You must book in advance to avoid disappointment as its really busy
F. M. K.
Location 5/5 close to Princes Street;
Interior 5/5 with lots of quirky pictures on the wall of badgers, frogs and foxes;
Food 5/5 - had the beef pie and a cauliflower dish that were both on point.
Furthermore, the soundtrack was impeccable, with lots of R&B and jazzy tunes.
Might be of the best restaurants in Edinburgh.
B. W.
10/10 would recommend and will definitely go back when in the area again. Meals were delicious and the portions were large, well worth the money. Atmosphere and staff were very lovely, especially Jamie, he was very pleasant and welcoming & everything felt calm and well organised :)

Lovely staff and service, everyone was super friendly. The interior was nice and cosy, and the food was great! I had a chicken schnitzel sandwich and the portion was huge and very tasty. Great value for money, would definitely go back.
M. F.
What a great experience. The staff instantly made us feel so comfortable and made sure we got a drink we would enjoy. We will be back thank you
H. D.
Lovely staff and delicious cocktails - highly recommend!
C.
Such a fun night out! Nacho was absolutely fantastic at making cocktails specific to what we wanted, and generally creating the perfect atmosphere for a pre Christmas night out. We'll definitely be back soon!

Was looking for a place for lunch with girlfriend along Princes Street and wandered up a road to find Badger & Co. Went in without a reservation but they were more than accommodating and found us a table more or less straight away. I ordered the chicken pie and it was absolutely stunning. Could not recommend it more. My girlfriend ordered the sausage rolls and the soup which were both exquisite. 10/10 would recommend to a friend!
A. S.
Absolutely loved it here. 3 of us went as friends, setting, service, and food were fantastic. Drinks great as well, and the cost was so low compared to the value. Excellent wee spot.
G. T.
A very pleasant evening with friendly, efficient and helpful staff.
E. R.
Went here to celebrate my dads 65th birthday with a small family gathering. Booked out the toad hall room downstairs, which had a sonos sound system, large retractable projection screen, projector hooked up to sky, DVDs available for the kids to watch. We were a party of 12, 9 adults and 3 kids a high chair was ready in the room upon arrival as were activity packs for all the kids.
Other features of the room were seating around edges away from the main table, the main table itself after eating can be converted into a pool table in the centre of the room and a shuffleboard table along one wall.
The food was delicious, my wife had steak which was huge and I had the fish and chips, I generally have a large appetite however my fish was to big for even me to eat all of it after my starter.
The staff were very attentive and looked after us brilliantly helping to get the av equipment all set up to enjoy the champions league final
J. P. (.
Such a lovely cosy and well located place with friendly helpful staff - the food looked amazing so will have to dine next time!
P. K.
What a fab relaxing place to eat - fresh, tasty food with great friendly staff! 10/10 all rounder...atmosphere, wine, menu & coffee, it had it all.
E. B.
good food, very welcoming and friendly staff, good selection of drinks and cocktails...
S. M.
Loved it. Steak pie was tasty and the cocktails unique and excellent. Service was friendly but not overbearing. This was a chocolatey creamy whiskey concoction - delicious as a dessert drink.
M. D. P.
We remember our visit very fondly. Both of us ordered the pot pie and a pint. The food was great, the portion size was big, and the staff was friendly with a good beer recommendation (mine had a hint of banana bread flavour to it). Best of all, we overlooked the castle. I look forward to returning some day!
S. Q.
So good. This was one of my favorite meals during our travels of the UK! Best steak pie. Hearty portions. Beautiful restaurant. Great service.
A.
A big group of us had brunch here - food and drinks were great, and the bar is really cool. Will definitely be back! We had a dairy intolerant request and they more than accommodated.
P. &. J. H.
Good atmosphere, decent food and friendly staff. I also liked the contemporary and welcoming decoration.
Ł. C.
Kind of hidden place with great atmosphere and really friendly staff. I was amazed. I recommend mushroom toast and crispy duck eggs salad with hand cut chips.
S. S.
Badger and Co was genuinely incredible. I can't remember a time i enjoyed food more or thought a place was more beautiful or welcoming. As a chips loving children's librarian i booked it for the literary link and the poutine- both exceeded my expectations! Went with my boyfriend and his parents, everyone had an absolutely wonderful time and we haven't stopped raving about it since! Can't recommend this place highly enough!!
F. G.
Food was delicious but service was very slow. Stopped in for a quick bite before a graduation ceremony but took some time to take the initial order and then a considerable wait between courses and finally getting the bill.
n. r.
Venue is lovely and has a nice vibe to it. Staff friendly and helpful. Losing one star because a couple next to us had fish and it has a really strong smell. Fish shouldn't smell like that. Would go back for drinks
A. C.
Excellent visit with great staff, gorgeous food and in a nice setting.
A. B.
Every part of the Full Sett Breakfast was perfect. The decor and staff were lovely. We were the only customers. What is wrong with you people? Visit and give them money!
D. G.
When we were in it was fairly busy but we were shown to our seat after all the relevant Covid regulations. We were told that it was table service and if we scanned the qr code we could access the menu. We were in for drinks only. The same waiter came back and took our order. We didn’t have to wait long for our drinks. He was constantly running around looking after the other customers and also us. The room we were in was nice and had a lovely atmosphere.
J. Ż.
My bridesmaids hired the function room for my hen in theee. It was harry potter themed and staff was absolutely fantastic, with Jamie -our waiter- putting on harry potter glasses and going with the theme and taking photos with us. They were so attentive and made some special potion drinks for us. We had the best time ever!
g. s.
Had a really nice time here. Great selection of beers and good food, with excellent friendly service.
Took a while to log on to the website and view the menu, however, so I look forward to the return of printed menus!
P. D.
Ian served us and was great. Made sure the dogs had a fresh clean bowl of water and that we were attended to as needed. Enjoyed our scallops which were cooked excellently and the view of the Castle. Many thanks guys. Keep up the good work.
P. S.
Fantastic place, very friendly and helpful staff, great atmosphere. Terrific place for a night out
A. S.
Delicious food and quirky atmosphere, definitely a must see!
N. P.
Great Food, Great Staff, Great Ambience. We really enjoyed our family meal at Badger and Co, were we had a lovely family catch up. The food was very nice, as were the attentive friendly staff.
R. P.
Food good, surroundings nice, clientele typical George Street. Could do with a bigger beer selection. Staff not very attentive. Don't go if you are in a rush!
L. B.
Great place to hang out with friends. I recommend the fish and chips
R. M.
Friendly accomodating staff with some nice drinks on offer :)
A. W.
Lovely staff, delicious food and great interior design & quirky decor ♥️
J. P.
Lovely cocktails & friendly staff. The staff were helpful and really nice - even despite the terrible weather!
I also asked for some cocktails that weren’t on the menu and they were happy to make them. They were delicious - definitely recommend!
C. R.
Really lovely restaurant. Great views over the city
J. F.
The "best" pie I, VE ever tasted.! (after homemade, obvs). Brilliant staff too. Came thru from glw for day out. We will be back!
S. B.
Brilliant staff, friendly and informative around local bars to go to within the area. Excellent customer service and food was highly recommended.
T. G.
Great food, staff, ambience!
Just wish the toilets were checked more frequently: I reported towards the end of the night that 2/4 ladies cubicles were out of TP, and 1/2 remaining hadn’t been flushing all night.
L. B.
Excellent food and service
L. G.
Nicely done out comfy furniture attentive staff good food
E. W.
Fantastic value for money, defo will visit again :)
J. J.
The bar staff at badger & Co were really friendly and made fantastic complex cocktails with plenty of flavour
C. A.
This place is great! Not only is the decor warm and inviting, but the food (which is the main attraction) was super! We had steaks, medium, and they were brilliantly cooked just to pink. The sides were good as well, and we had wine which was superb.
The bar staff are chatty and great, the serving staff could be more smiley and chatty, but it is not quite the thing in Scotland so no stars removed.
J. P.
Great for drinks, food looks amazing though we didn't eat here. Lovely pub and we will be back for meals.
J. C.
Lovely place for meal or just a coffee/drink.
C. B.
The food is really excellent! The staff are just lovely and the entire place has a tremendously relaxing and warm atmosphere about it. Partially due to the nice interior and lower light conditions. Odd toad pictures on the walls, which gives it character. I can only recommend this place. Everything was absolutely perfect.
a. g.
Lovely atmosphere, polite attentive staff.
Good food.
E. K.
Nice place tucked away from Princes Street that you may not realize is pub and restaurant at first glance. While it can be a challenge navigating the bar to get to the restaurant during happy hour (nigh impossible, some might say) the reservation-expected restaurant portion is quiet and cozy. The drink menu is extensive, while food is primarily seafood or steak. My scallops were on point, but unfortunately the steaks that three of us had were all overcooked (rare become medium, medium became medium well). The kids were happy with their options so it wasn't a total loss. We'd probably go again but would definitely have something else.
A. M.
Great cocktail menu and lovely food. Atmosphere great too. The waitress (Margarite) noticed my friend’s happy birthday bag and really went the extra mile to make it special. Really grateful. Some of the best customer service I’ve had in a while.
I. J.
We had the best seats in the house with full size leather armchairs, the kind you’d see in an expensive house in the drawing room, smoking cigars and sipping on fine whisky. Very comfortable and luxurious! The meal was very affordable considering the lovely, luxe venue. I had a lobster roll with chips and salad with a glass of rose wine for £20. Highly recommend!
L. O. B.
Had the muscles to start and venison for main. Muscles were nice but would have preferred a sauce. Venison was very nice and would recommend. Girlfriend got a steak which she said was also very nice. Staff were excellent and friendly. We had one cider and one beer with dinner. Bit pricey but would recommend overall.
T. C.
This restaurant is amazing. The atmosphere is a perfect blend of classy and comfy. The theme of Wind in the Willows is throughout the place without being over the top.
And the food. OMG so good. Our group ordered a variety of good from the soup of the day to the Scottish Pie and everyone loved them all. They even had a delicious cheese plate.
Their drinks were superb and a fun mix of classic and new.
Overall this place is amazing
M. C.
Had brunch here with family. I got the "full set", and it was delicious. Atmosphere was great, server was friendly and patient, and all the food we got was tasty. I want to come back here to check out the dinner and drinks, as those menus looked interesting as well.
A fifth start would be if the food was cheaper - it was worth it, but if it were any cheaper I would tell you that you *need* to go here, i.e. a fiver.
K. H.
Excellent service, food delicious. Only thing that let it down was very minimal, I had ordered the haddock and chips....but the batter on the fish had arrived at the table soft. The taste of the dish was perfect, however I feel a little work on perfecting a crispy batter would take this to 5 stars.
C. C.
Nice relaxed atmosphere with great food.
We had dinner on Saturday night.
Price wise while not cheap I feel it’s decent value.
Staff are nice in a very informal way.
For dinner all four of us dining thoroughly enjoyed our meals however I can’t comment on the desserts as we couldn’t manage those!
We had the table by the window which was nice.
Overall very pleasant experience.
S. B.
Fantastic service, a-mazing food, lovely relaxed cosy atmosphere!
K. M.
Went to Badger & Co for my Dads 60th birthday, we hired the private dining room downstairs. We were served by the very lovely Becky throughout the evening- she was very helpful. The food & company was great. Having the projector screen, shuffleboard and pool table was a lovely added bonus! We will definitely consider using Badger & Co for other special events in the future :)
J. L.
The decor here is stunning and this is a great place to come for drinks. There are several wingback chairs for added comfort and the drinking options are plentiful. My only criticism was that I thought the food was average quality considering how upmarket the place looks and the cost of the food.
J. M.
Lovely space, great food and professional service. Highly recommended!
D. E.
Lovely place and although chilly when we visited, sitting outside was super efficient. Staff were attentive and friendly. Food was delicious
L. Y.
Great place! Whether brunch, dinner or drinks in the “secret garden”, the food is fantastic and the atmosphere superb. The staff is friendly and accommodating and will be sure any special dietary needs, like vegetarian or gluten free are easily and accurately taken care of.
V. W.
We hired out the private room for a dinner and had a fantastic evening. The food was excellent, the service was just exactly right, not too much, not too little, and the room was transformed after dinner into a fun space with pool table and shuffleboard so we played, drank and chatted the evening away all the while listening to our own music. Perfect, couldn't fault it. Thanks to all the staff who helped us create a really great evening.
T. D.
One of the best pubs I’ve been to in a while. Fish pie and the haddock and chips were fantastic.
A. T.
Such a nice little pub, the decorations were so pretty and so festive and the food was very good (I particularly liked the sticky toffee pudding and I also personally recommend the blueberry mojitos, it was such an interesting and tasty blend). The service was also great.
P. F.
Really liked the atmosphere - very relaxed and cool - the staff are friendly and attentive - Gerli and Mariam were especially lovely - keep up the good work guys 😊👍
J. F.
What a beautiful place! So elegant and inviting. The waitstaff was as friendly as could be. The food was not only delicious, but extremely well presented. What a joy! Highly recommend for a special occasion!
A. D.
Lovely food, drink and amazing toilets
t. m.
What a lovely experience. Delicious food and tasty cocktails. Look forward to another visit.
J. M.
Came in after breakfast was served, but they were very good and said we could order from the breakfast menu anyway. The food took a wee while but was well worth the wait. Particularly 'the full sett' and the avocado toast with poached eggs were peak. Coffee was very artistic. Cozy with candles and nice lighting, helpful servers, and all round highly recommended.
B. M.
Very cosy atmosphere and creative drinks. I ordered the hake and langostine which was great, very fresh and cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the pigeon lollipops and the sausage roll with bone marrow, which were good but not great (hence the 4 star rating).
J. W.
BEST BRUNCH IN EDINBURGH. TRY THE BOOZY BADGER BRUNCH!
J. G.
Unbelievable. I was expecting it to be nice, but the venue itself is beautiful, staff service was amazing and the food itself was flawless.
I got the venison M/R and it was cooked perfectly, along with the rest of the meal. Highly recommend.
D. J.
Here for dinner. Nice atmosphere small number of tables and very nice menu featuring regional specialties. We followed staff suggestion for whiskey choice and were not disappointed. No reservations but very busy after 8 pm. Easy walk from our hotel up Princes street. Friendly staff.
B. B.
This is my favourite place to eat in Edinburgh. The food is great. The decor is stylish and quirky and the staff are lovely. So helpful and accomodating. We had a lovely evening, served by Erin who was so nice to us that we'll definitely return. This is the second time we've been and its been great both times. Lovely pies
and the scallops are amazing. Highly recommended!
I. B.
Amazing food and tasty craft cocktails. Not to be missed!
P. R.
T mlhe staff were polite the food was good but overpriced and the wine was very expensive a bottle of rather inferior Chilien merlot that tasted young and unrounded was 26 pounds. We were asked to move on from our table after we finished eating despite not having had coffee/dessert. Overall style over substance.
G. T.
Love this place .... wouldn't be out of place in London's West end , just has that something about it and great food , recommend the honey chilli fries.....
D. H.
Full disclosure my meal was at 50% off due to a deal that I found online. That being said my wife and I had the lamb and were pleasantly surprised (even my wife who had read an old menu and walked in there with hopes up of getting venison). The ambience was lovely and we will definitely be coming back again for some special occasions.
P. A.
Really nice treat this. Had the steak and it was just as I asked. Really delicious. Nice and warm atmosphere with plenty of choice Inc drinks. Nice for a date with your love I my case my wife and child.
叢.
If I could buy shares in this restaurant I certainly would. They have got the service, ambiance, and pricing down to a T. They have great options on the menu. I was there with a friend and we ordered 3 starters as a sort of tapas and it was delicious. They didn't mind us doing this.
I also have to recommend the gin cocktails and the banana bread beer.
Free wifi and very friendly staff. Recommended.
A.
we are from vienna - on vacation in edinburgh. first you see this bar/restaurant and you’re on a budget, you don’t want to go in ‘cause it looks like you can’t even afford a drink in there. the outer appearance reminds me a little bit of „alice in wonderland“ so i had to go in - no matter what the price would be. you come in and feel very welcomed. the staff is superhelpful and friendly. first night we did not make a reservation, but they found us a table anyways. the inside of the bar/restaurant looks even more sophisticated (but in a young and superstylish way) and well designed through and through. as we got the menu, we saw that the prices aren’t that bad, not at all - very affordable and budgetfriendly. never in a million years have i expected this. let me tell you - the food we had was brilliant every single meal was delicious! best sunday roast ever! we stayed four nights in edinburgh (and got married in edinburgh) - we ate three times there - even our wedding lunch was badger‘s. the staff couldn‘t be lovelier to us. long story short - it is a must eat/drink location in edinburgh! we definitely will come back! all the love from vienna! ❤️

Decent place but no sky TV which is a shame but good variety of drinks. Worth a visit

Called in for an afternoon drink and uses the outside seating area, service was fine, beer was cold and reasonable priced.
E. H.
Food and drinks here are both fantastic! This chic bar is a great spot to meet up with a group as it has lots of space. The cocktails are fantastic and the food is tasty. It is not a cheap spot but it is in the centre of town so that's to be expected.
A. L. S.
Great tasting cocktails, even if they are a little on the pricey side at 9 pounds each. Well decorated underground secret gem with authentic antiques on display. Worth a visit to see this place behind the bookcase door.
C. R.
Nice and cosy, food was delicious, very friendly staff.
O. M.
Great experience all round. Compact but varied menu. Imaginative dishes that read well on the menu. The food does not disappoint. Good wine list at fair prices. Great staff and service level.
N. W.
Nice place, very warm and cosy. Great cocktails.
J.
Very nice place and pretty good food. We only found the service a bit poor, mainly because of low attention to costumers (that was of course our feeling). The staff seemed very efficient but a bit busy.
F. R.
Lovely evening with friends. Great food, delicious cocktails and excellent service. Thank you
S. S.
We hosted my friend’s engagement brunch here and ended up staying until around 7pm and having dinner too! Brunch offer was fab, staff were super friendly and attentive and, as it was a sunny day, the beer garden was an added bonus!
k. h.
Lovely food, quick service - staff were great - good value for money.
L. R.
Great steak for two with two sides only £25. Lovely surroundings, super friendly staff. We loved our first visit and will definitely eat here again next time we're in Edinburgh.
K. W.
Great for cocktails, food not so great. It felt like the chef was trying way too hard to impress when there is no need. Please don't put curry powder in your fish batter, there is no need to mess with a classic dish!
S. M. R.
Beautiful and elegant place. The food is excellent and everything is presented with a delicate and well prepared decoration. The food is very varied and they are dishes out of the ordinary. Huge variety of drinks and the cocktails are delicious.
R. C.
Frequently came here with my other half to enjoy a few drinks but have now been told that you no longer sell banana bread beer! A tragedy, as this was our drink of choice at your establishment :( staff are always friendly and service great, even when busy. Bring back banana!
C. P.
Badger company was a great bar to both sample whiskey and have a easy drinking beer. The staff was very accompanying to whiskey choices and also beer choices. Being in the heart of New Town, I would not expect this level of hospitality, but badger and company really delivered.
S. W.
Good food, friendly staff, and helpful, good service. Would recommend
G.
This is a fantastic place, the whole atmosphere is great, the decoration is terrific and theme is clear through, down to the names of the cocktails. Food and service was extremely good, will definitely be back.
C. M.
Best mac n cheese ever. Great service. Lovely atmosphere.
P. P.
What a fun theme! Unique drinks and great food. Was visiting from the U.S., stumbled upon this place on our last night in Edinburgh. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting.
M. E.
Not a bad place. Half bar, half restaurant. Reasonable decor. Fairly relaxed. Plenty of cocktails and gins. The venison steak was excellent. Haddock and chips OK.
M. W.
Great service, superb perfectly cooked food and very reasonably priced. Thank you, we'll beasty back.
R. F.
Great staff. We booked the private dining room for a family meal. There were a couple of problems but Stephen who was looking after us was brilliant and did his best to sort them out.
B. H.
Very nice veggie gnocchi for reasonable prices, with fast and friendly service!
B. ..
Great bar, amazing cocktails, lovely staff. Definitely worth a visit
M. S.
Had a great meal here on NYE - the service was the real highlight with the staff knowledgeable and friendly. Gnocchi was fantastic and the terrine (although served warm) was another winner. Would certainly be back.
A. C. W.
Fab breakfast/brunch. Excellent selection of food, from a tradional cooked breakast, eggs benedict to a club sandwich there is something for everyone, 4 dishes ordered all spot on. Attentive service and a great setting. We will definitely visit again.
P. S.
Badger and Co is relatively new in town. It has been really beautifully decorated and named to honour its former resident; the Author of The Wind in the Willows, Kenneth Grahame. Don't expect a menagerie of woodland creatures though, there are a few tasteful nods to the author but it's not overdone and the atmosphere is that of a relaxed but upscale bar and restaurant. We dined here on a Tuesday night and the place was fairly quiet although I've heard it gets very busy at the weekend.
Our food was really very good. The menu is mainly British with an emphasis on pies but don't let that fool you. This is far beyond pub grub. We all thought the main courses were outstanding. The pies are excellent (as well as enormous) and full of high quality ingredients such as game, or chicken and vegetables. They came presented in old fashioned enamel ware pie tins that were quirky but not difficult to eat from. The smoked pork chop came with a choice of sauce and I opened for smoked paprika and roquefort butter, which was lighter than I expected and complemented the pork really well. The pork chop was really well cooked and smoked to perfection. Some of the mains require a purchase of additional sides such as mash, triple cooked chips or greens to complete the meal but these are all well priced (around £3) and were uniformly excellent. The desserts were tasty but didn't really have the same wow factor as the mains. The banoffee crumble was tasty and rich and neither of my friends could finish it. I opted for cheese. The selection was good but the amount of cheese was a bit overwhelmed by bread and oatcakes but that's a tiny niggle as everything tasted wonderful.
Admittedly we didn't have a lot to drink but the bill for 4 people for 2 courses with side dishes and drinks came in at under £120 which was excellent value considering the quality of the food. Our server was reallt friendly and attentive and very knowledgeable about what the restaurant had to offer. We will definitely be back for more.
j. c.
Nice establishment, limited cocktail selection, Good choice of beer on tap
E.
The food was excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back.
M. E.
Every visit has been fab!
Perfect!
D. S.
Nice place, gets busy so book ahead
K. m.
Enjoyed a lovely evening here celebrating our daughters graduation. The staff were nice, food was excellent. Great cocktails made the evening that bit more special.
C.
As someone from London I was impressed with the cocktails and prices on offer. Would recommend
K. T.
Lively peaceful atmosphere, nice drinks and good food
A. F.
Lovely restaurant and bar. Excellent fish and chips, and sharp cocktails too. Inexpensive to this London-based reviewer ! Well worth a visit.....and who doesn't love a Badger !
B. S.
This place was cool. Reminiscent of Wind in the Willows, a "Badger" themed interior took me back to my younger days of having the book read to me. Lunch service was fantastic and food was great.
F. H.
Great atmosphere. Great food. Nice and handy in Castle Street, just off Princes St and George St. Never let me down 100%
R. C.
Great food, 1st class staff very friendly, fantastic evening, thanks
D. B.
Food was good, service could have been a little more attentive. Tried to book a table for brunch but only time available was for quite early but we then sat in a near empty restaurant for nearly 3 hours.
J. H.
Lovely staff - quick service, amazing food! 10/10 recommend
S. M.
Delicious food unique and tasteful drinks. Quirky decorations but tasteful and still upscale and romantic. Would definitely come again.
E. S.
Great food and great ambiance just a bit expensive
E. W.
Trendy Wind in the Willows themed decor. It's more of a fancy pub than a restaurant. Food was delicious, especially the dessert, and the staff are super friendly and attentive.
J. F.
We had such a lovely afternoon here today, warm and friendly. Definitely recommend.
K. K.
Brunch deal is just superb. 4 amazing drinks + food that tastes great, will definitely fill you up while being visually pleasing for 20 £ is a bargain.
S. B.
Lunch service was great.
T. P.
Probably the best chicken pie I've ever had. Excellent service and trendy pub decor. Highly recommend it if you're feeling like traditional but upscale pub food.
K. H.
A fine pub in the centre of Edinburgh with reasonably priced beverages. Nice decor inside to do with Wind & The Willows. Bar staff pretty slow at serving though.
P. B.
Nice place and good selection of drinks. Not such a fan of the menu change on the cocktail front as the old menu offered a much better range. Floor in the back section of the bar seemed to vibrate....maybe just a temporary thing.
A. S.
My husband said the lamb he had here was the best he'd ever had! I also loved the cocktail with scotch, maple syrup, and whatever else was in it 😊
M. O.
Quite good food, nice staff, good atmosphere, fairly priced. Enjoyed the finnis haddie mash pie as an entree and that was quite good and sufficient along with a wee beet and feta salad. Decent wine list.
S. B.
Loved the badger & co
Good food decor & atmosphere
Will come back
Went for dinner as birthday treat last night ❤️
A.
Been past loads of times without going in. Went in for tea before a show. Food was excellent, drink reasonable for Edinburgh Centre and the staff were lovely. We'll be back
D. M.
Nice atmosphere and not too young clientel. Staff bouncing around, enthusiastically. Had veggie pie. Very reasonable pricing for both food and bar.
l. d.
Scottish bar restaurant with typical menus
s. s.
Great lunch. Good value.
P. C.
Lovely food, lovely decor, strong vibration from the floor, maybe a generator in the basement, table was shaking and felt sick by the end of the meal. Other then that it was nice.
J. K.
Stopped here for brunch and had fish & chips. Tasted quite nice and portion was large. Enjoyed the fun vibe.
M. C.
Stopped here for breakfast, and it was very tasty. Reasonably priced and a nice atmosphere (though we were the only ones in at the time).
P. M.
Gorgeous place, lovely food and drinks served by efficient and friendly staff.
A. M.
You could not want for a better Christmas Lunch Party venue than Toad Hall. Thanks to all the staff at Badger & Co for a superb lunch and great hospitality. Back again next year for sure!!
C. M.
If you can look past the hipster vibe, they actually have quite good drinks and a cosy aesthetic. Music's a bit loud, so not a place for some quiet drinks.
K. F.
Very good food! Good service as well. Nice selection and they play some great funk music!
J. D.
Great atmosphere. Fantastic local food. Staff so friendly and helpful.
C. F.
First visit to Badger & Co., but it won't be our last. Every part of our lunchtime visit was very good. Next time we're taking a group of friends to enjoy this excellent experience.
M. B.
Quiet bar on a Saturday night so no queuing to order. Great setting with polite staff... I find it hard to think of much to criticize!
H. C.
You should add sauce to the sir loin steak
A. D. R.
Had breakfast at Badger and co. It was excellent, very good service and all the food cooked to perfection. Wish I had gone to dinner there the night before!
A. L. G.

Lovely place. Friendly staff! Next visit we'll eat aswell as just a couple of drinks and try out the garden area
S. C.
Very different type of restaurant in the birthplace of Kanneth Graeme, author of Wind in the Willows. Fabulous food, great service and a very upbeat atmosphere.
S. F.
Great little cocktail bar, bar tender knew his stuff. Drinks were good and food delicious.
Worth a pop in for a drink or meal.
F. F.
Good food although the advertise hand cut chips which we didn't get more like frozen said it was because they are so busy in August ...no excuse should be prepared
Z. C.
Great spot with good food and cocktails, and friendly service. Enjoyed it so much that we paid it a second visit during our stay.
D. T.
Just had a fabulous meal and cocktails at this lovely, relaxing restaurant.

Nice new food and drink venue in the centre of Edinburgh. Interesting private room in the basement that can be used for old movies, game of snooker or private drinks. Also has an outdoor smoking/summer area.

D. B.
Been once before and it's a really good atmosphere, nicely decorated and the theme is suave and cute at the same time. Who doesn't love wind and the willows theme?
M. L.
The most adorable "Wind in the Willows" themed pub and restaurant in the former home of its author. Staff is friendly the decor is fun.

- The service and food are good and while expensive, it is not too expensive.
