Bar salsa has always been the go to for ore drinks for a gig at the liquid rooms. The bar staff were unaccommodating to someone who's gig was just cancelled. I'd put that down to this probably never happening and I'll give the bar maid a solid 3/5. She did indeed point me in the direction of the £2.50 drinks and she did indeed serve me in a very acceptable time. I'm not sure if it was the fact that I made sure that I was in to drown my sorrows that her attitude changed to somewhat miserable. I will though give her the benefit of the doubt because it was indeed myself she was serving . 4/5 went from a very standard dive bar to a bar I'd take the parents to for a quick drink before I went to the panto.

Best prices for the start of an Edi sesh - means you can move onto the clubs up the road later in the night. Small space but they make it work. £1 shots will never have me complaining.

At roughly a pound per shot this place is well known for bargain drink deals. Service is usually ok even though the bar is ridiculously busy, with a weekend approaching. Great value for money.

It is busy and not very big. There isn't much room for seats and nowhere really to perch when it's busy. Try and get a space at the left/centre of the bar so you aren't an obstacle for people trying to get to the bathrooms.

First and foremost, let me confirm Bar Salsa has nothing to do with salsa dancing nor the sauce! It's a teeny tiny bar located between the Cowgate and Grassmarket. The area where you'll find drunken throngs of students, back-packers, stag & hen nights shuttling up and down the cobbled streets. It was very entertaining to watch these crazy scenes roll by from the security of the pavement seating, as I sipped my Peroni in the evening sun. That's the only way I'll take advantage of the uber cheap drinks here, outside away from the cramped dark interior and loud music or sport screens. Inside the bar is now relatively clean, although there's little seating, upturned barrels serve as tables, lots of timber cladding and there is only one unisex toilet. Although it's dark, clammy and the window soon steam up once the pub crawls begin! The drinks are outstandingly cheap with all spirits £1.25, bottles at £1.95 and all pints £2.25. There is a huge selection of flavoured shots if you really want a metal night! This place is great for a cheap drink, a quick nip or if you manage to grab a seat outside, a few bottles in the sun.

Bar seems nice, bar staff friendly, But the little over weight Hitler on the door thinking he is really important has put me and my fellow students write off, please try and employ someone who would go with the bar atmosphere this little over weight doorman should be in front of a cave banging rocks together.
