A wonderful place for a drink. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the staff could not have done more for us. It’s beautifully decorated and the drinks were so nicely presented. I’d love to come back here again.

Really nice ambiance, cocktails while a small selection (Around 15) are all really tasty if you're looking for a less rowdy drinking experience be sure to check this place out, it's just up the stairs to the left entrance is on the left of Hotel Indigo.

Always nice to pop in for a drink I love how they have Rekorderling cider as well which I find hard to get in a lot of places. Very reasonable prices as well and staff and friendly

This place was so fancy but so welcoming - a perfect combination if you ask me. I turned up in trainers Cos I had heels in my bag to change into and nobody even batted an eyelid. The gin is absolutely delicious, I recommend taking a sip before you add your mixer. We had - Tokyo At Night which wasn’t our favourite but was beautiful and fun to try. Its perfectly balanced but if you don’t like green tea you won’t appreciate it - Boe Violet which was absolutely divine. I adore the taste of violet and it was such a beautiful colour - I can’t remember the name but it had irnbru in it and omg it was perfect. The bartender was really accommodating and lovely and offered to swap out one of the liquors for a less bitter version and oof it was perfect - a rhubarb gin which was so vibrant. Beautiful. - halloumi fries which were delicious - haggis bites which were a bit like scotch eggs but haggis instead, piping hot and delicious.

Highly recommend the bar for cocktails, they are so good and a very average price. The atmosphere is cozy but modern and the staff it brilliant. The facilities are clean and tidy, it is just a dream of a place. And the location is perfectly located at the heart of the city.

This is not in the high calibre of other cocktail bars in Edinburgh. The drinks are fairly weak and way too sweet. The service was ok but nothing special. It was too loud and the atmosphere was cold.

Lovely bar inside the Indigo Hotel with big windows and views over Edinburgh Waverly. We couldn’t have alcohol because of lockdown restrictions, but their menu of non alcoholic drinks is actually excellent, many options and reasonable prices. Service was nice and friendly!

I had high expectations when entering the bar. You need to get through a hotel reception which looks fancy enough. First impression was actually very positive - pleasant ambiance and calm music on the background. Unfortunately when you take a closer look, your excitement slowly vanishes. Most of the furniture, although in modern design, was either damaged or dirty. I ordered an 'explore the world of Scottish gin' set which comprises 4 selected gins and two bottles of tonic. The presentation was very nice. Unfortunately, the waiter was unable to tell me which gin was in what glass - even though I know my favourite was the bottom left glass, I have no idea what gin that was and so can't order it next time. My friends ordered some cocktails which I tasted as well. All very nicely presented and very tasty. To sum up: if you feel like having a cocktail in the afternoon, it's a place to go. You get a nice view of the Princess Street and Edinburgh castle. However don't expect to be amazed.

Staff were a lot of fun! Great banter! Even though they never had a cocktail I was looking for on the menu, when I requested it, although it sounded like an odd combination (it’s a Greek cocktail) they managed to recreate it specially for me and our waitress even said to us “I think this should be similar to what your looking for, I had a taste of it and wow it’s actually really nice!” The atmosphere is quite nice too, lovely decor. Although it’s a slightly more mature establishment, we enjoyed our cocktails!

I expect there to be some waiting involved when you order cocktails - they obviously take more time to prepare than a glass of wine - but the waiting we did at Juniper wasn't just for the cocktails. We waited a long time for a waitress to take our initial orders. We waited a long time for tap water to arrive (it came well after the first cocktails, actually). And we waited a long, long time for cocktails. So much so that it became one of the major topics of conversation at our table, wondering when our thirst would be quenched. The waitstaff was mildly apologetic and blamed the delays on how busy they were, but they were far from full of customers. I'd hate to see how slow the service gets on a day when the place is crowded. Other than the speed of the service, it was a good evening. The cocktails were interesting, and not excessively sweet. The sofas and armchairs were comfortable, and the room was well-decorated. The noise level was conducive to conversation. Based on all this and its nice, central location, I'll probably end up giving Juniper another try, hoping to discover that the slow service we experienced this time was was just a fluke.

Great cocktails, some of which were impeccably presented. (Dry ice in a cafetiere: inspired!) Does feel like a hotel bar with bright lights and vaguely bland furniture, but don't let that put you off. Drinks on the pricey side - but well worth it.
