Friendly staffs Recommend this place for a good evening, not so crowded when we have visited. Almost all the tables require new cloths . Food and drink a very good idea. Pizza deals are excellent. Good evening and friendly staffs.

I couldn't tell you why, but I was expecting this place to not have the best pints or not have a great selection of spirits. I was very pleasantly surprised! The pour of Staropramen was nothing short of beauty. I don't drink it myself but I should have taken a picture. Genuine perfection. And the gin selection was fantastic too. The game of pool was great fun, plenty of space and not too loud that you can't have a conversation. Not too expensive too, considering the experience you get from it all. I will definitely become more regular.

Great space to play American pool. The tables aren't cleaned frequently and cloth on most tables is damaged. It's a real shame as the place by itself is great for training. Cues aren't cleaned and sharpened therefore suggest to take your own. That's the technical side. Otherwise it's spacious with separate drinking area. I like the staff (they are all friendly, chaty and funny).

Totally recommended! 🎱 Really nice place, has quite a lot of character, plenty of pool tables and they're spaced nicely as well, you don't have to hit the walls or other people when playing. Lighting downstairs is brilliant. The selection and quality of pizza has to be recommended as well! Games for students are half price and a really decent price even without that.

Tables are good considering how much they are used and all the alcohol and snacks about it (think they were re-clothed 6-12 months ago. BUT service and staff attitude is poor. Told at 10.50pm that its too late to play a few games of pool because they close at 12am? Had to argue and beg after travelling across edinburgh picking up mates on the way not to turn us away (we did get a table in the end for 50 mins but could have done without the drama). More recently we have gone a few times at 9pm to be told we only have 1 hour because its quiet and theyve decided to close early at 10pm on the night... we went downstairs and half the tables were being used (which is the busiest ive seen midweek nights!. Ive also phoned to book a table and been told the same thing on other occasions that due to short staffing or lack of business theyre shutting at 10 when online tells us 12am. Clearly just reluctant to have the customers as staff half the time and fair enough if they close an hour early if its a slow night but 2 hours? (Means you have to start playing over 3 hours before close). At least communicate it to customers online or something so we can plan around it. Not a great way to run a business

Good place. Tables are in good condition and there's 19 of them. The prices are low and there are deals that make them even lower. The tables are close enough to one another that you may sometimes have to wait for the people on the next table to take their shot before tou can but we didn't have much issues with that. Will definitely return.

This place is quiet and has a chill atmosphere. A very peaceful place to come for a game of pool. I used to come here as a kid when there was an epic soft play area. It would probably be better if that was still there but as a pool place it’s nice too. I usually visit on a Monday evening and it isn’t busy at all.

I recently moved nearby with my boyfriend and we come here so much! Hourly rate on the tables - which there are loads of - meaning we don't need to worry about time constraints and relax. Big screens showing sports inside which is really cool, decoration is really modern downstairs with the colour of the lights changing every new hour! Good pizzas here as well, good selection of drinks and cocktails. Recommend this place to any pool lovers- upstairs is a bar with games consoles in as well if you aren't feeling up for pool that day!

Perfect place to catch up with friends and get a couple games of pool or a couple pints. They have a Nintendo 64 you can play Mario kart and James Bond for free, some nostalgia for you. All you need is a bank card or £20 deposit. Really fair prices good pizza good atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Great spacious pool hall that's reasonably priced, although I think the drinks are slightly overpriced. I'd avoid the pizzas, they claim to be stonebaked but taste like cheap supermarket frozen pizzas. The bar is stylish but could do with some more seats as it looks oddly empty. However, as the focus is a pool hall, as long as that's all you're after then I can't fault it. Come in, play on good tables, have plenty of room between them and leave having had a good time with friends. Just eat and drink somewhere else.

For pool, this place is great. Plenty of tables, prices seem fair, and the space downstairs feels fresh and contemporary. Upstairs, the bar is lacking a little. Slightly pricey, with a fairly generic selection of taps and bottles of beer. Pizza, although cheap, really isn't great. Staff were friendly, if a little slow. I'd go back for pool, and maybe drinks, but skip the pizza.

This is the best pool hall in the city centre, without needing to book a table. All pool tables are downstairs and so you don't have to worry about any outside distractions. There's big screen TVs which play various sports, a jukebox and a security guard during weekends to avoid bad behaviour. The upstairs has a great bar with a lot of seats and video games (such as an N64) which you can pay to use. Food and drink isn't cheap but table rates are. On Sundays you can get half price pizzas.

I came here the other day for the first time and I must say I was impressed. It’s really modern inside and I like that the pool tables are all together downstairs with the bar separate. The student discount was a bonus but I think it’s bad you have to give over your bank card as a means of deposit (else £20 I think the other option is). Who knows what could be done with your card whilst you’re enjoying yourself? Anyway, I didn’t order any food or drinks but the pool was good and also playing the retro games (I played Mario Kart!) was nostalgic and really enjoyable. Except for the card thing I think this place is great and I was only visiting Edinburgh (I don’t live there) but when I next visit there’s a fair chance I’ll come back here, but with £20 and not just my bank card!

What a great venue. I have been here with the Kids during the day and for a night out with the Wife and on all occasions a fun time was had by all. The venue has been nicely styled with a huge Pool Hall, sleek Bar with TV screens, free Wi- fi and Pizza Oven. There is also a mezzanine area where my son and I could watch the Sky sports football without him having to enter the Bar area. The pool is very reasonably priced, there is a good selection of beers and the Pizza we had tasted great. I will definitely be going back here.

A fun place to stop off for a late night game of pool with friends, the newly reopened Marco's Pool Hall has a trendier and more upscale feel than traditional most pool halls. Though £5 for an hour of pool may be a little pricey, the atmosphere is relaxed and there's more than enough space between the tables to take your turns. The hipster looking bar upstairs was the only disappointment with a small drinks menu and "stone-baked pizzas" which tasted like they'd been microwaved from frozen.

After almost a dozen visits it's safe to say that this place has a good atmosphere. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. In addition to this everything is priced very reasonably. The food is ok (hotdogs are a bit disappointing) but their pizzas are decent. On the other hand their hot drinks are really good! (especially thr hot chocolates and mochas) Would definitely recommend to any group of friends that just want to chill for an evening.

I was recently lured to Marco's with the promise of pizza and pool. We started upstairs with a couple of drinks. Although the place was completely empty at 7pm, it started filling up a bit after that. It's quite a pleasant space, well-lit and woody. When I asked for a glass of wine, when I held it up for a sip it caught the light and I saw how dusty the glass was. Steaks and smears all over. I went to exchange it, and although the second glass I was given had a big huge thumbprint on it too, I didn't want to be awkward and change it again. Unfortunately, my friends arrived and one was given a glass with lipstick marks on it... they also asked to exchange it for a cleaner glass, being completely unaware I had done the same just ten minutes before. Not so good. The pizzas are cheap. £5.50, or less for a pizza bread option. They also taste cheap. For a place that really only serves a limited range of pizza, and claims they are "stone-baked", it wasn't very impressive. It could easily be so much better, and I'd be happy to pay a few pounds more for something a little tastier. The pool hall was the real highlight though. It's downstairs, and was really good value at £5 for an hour. The room was fairly busy, lit with red lights and nice and clean, and I'll definitely go back again. I wasn't so fond of the crass "nice rack" sign on the wall though!

I was lucky enough to go to this as part of the VIP pre-opening and will definitely be back regularly. Marco's has been in Edinburgh for years and I was very excited for this re-opening and was not disappointed. It is not just a great pool hall, but also a very nice bar with great pool/snooker themed decor and they server a wide selection of beers on tap, including a large drinks menu for non beer drinkers. The pool hall has a large number of 8ft american pool tables with ample of space and seating. I have played in a number of pool halls in Edinburgh and this ranks as one of the best, with no memberships required. Highly recommended.

i am inside marcos at the moment and I have to say this is a marvelous absolutely amazing unique place, their cocktails are absolutely devine, pool tables are in such a great condition compared to other bars I have been to. my partner thinks that this place is just as amazing as the bar she has been to in newcastle, I believe that this bar is quite possibly the best in edinburgh. .The bar staff are friendly and make an amazing french martini. oh and also make sure you drink blue moon, parma violet gin is here too I recommend you try it. over all I believe that other bars are lacking compared to this bar and this is coming from a very critical reviewer who will never give a 5 star unless I am happy with an establishment. 5stars is what this place needs. EDIT: I checked out the other reviews and I can't believe the amount of critical reviews. A place that has a large pool hall with retro games and great cocktails? I don't know how the hell you can do anymore than that.

Super Billard Bar! Als Student zahlt man Mittwochs nur den halben Preis.(3.5 Pfund pro Stunde, egal wie viele Spiele oder Personen)!! Atmosphäre war bei meinen Besuchen immer nett.
