Fantastic dinner - extensive wine list organized by region at various price points, including some options by the glass rather than bottle. The atmosphere was lovely as you can see the kitchen and watch the chefs prepare food and there are various ingredients etc for sale. The staff was lovely and the food was incredibly delicious!

The food at One20 is beyond comparison. I enjoyed the best eggplant parmesan I have ever tasted. My husband, who recently suffered a stroke and has difficulty communicating, found a way to say that his lasagne was the best he’d ever had. In addition to delicious food, prepared by the restaurant’s gracious and talented proprietor, the ambiance is lovely, the service excellent. I sing the praises of this restaurant to the skies. This is a spectacular place, in every respect, the labour of love of a father and son. The service is excellent, and so is the food. Both the father and the son work the floor and offer detailed and very well informed advice on the wine - and they have probably the best selection in town (hey, I haven't been to all the watering holes in Edinburgh, and my liver is just fine, thank you). We saw the father cook a succulent-looking piece of meat himself, then plate it, then serve it: the level of dedication is astounding. And they take true personal interest in our enjoyment and well-being, not the superficial variety we encounter everywhere. I would strongly recommend this place, for the decor and ambience, the superb service, the excellent food, the spectacular wines, and in spite of the steep prices.

Ordered takeaway twice since the beginning of the Lockdown and both times the food items were outstanding, tasteful and finger-licking! Everything sold there is of the highest quality and the cooking is delicate, balanced and only made with the best ingredients. 🤩👌 Although it is not for every budgets, the experience there is worth every single penny! 😋👍

Love this place, as soon as you walk in the door the staff make you feel welcome. We've been a handful of times since they opened last year and each time we've really felt like we're on a special night out. We tend to go for a mixed cheese and charcuterie board which is a perfect mix. The wines are a different class and staff are knowledgeable and helpful. We called into the cafe mid afternoon and were given a warm welcome. Despite lunch being over we were offered a range of hot meals. All were delicious, beautifully served with fresh salads..service lovely, facilities spotless and to a very high standard. Would recommend highly. This is a new business offering good quality food and wine....if I lived in Edinburgh this would be my new go to place.

This is a fantastic place to call into and have wine. It has a whole range of ltalian wines mostly southern and three of the reds are organic. I would think from small owners. The place is totally relaxing quite possibly due to the chef. I have never seen anyone prepare food in such a relaxed quiet and calm manner. I booked a table for and boyfriend and me at One20 this evening. We had read the spectacular reviews and we were not disappointed. Firstly, we arrived and despite the only seating being outside, we thought "we have to try this place!". Unfortunately, a flash of lightening and a crash of thunder meant we decided to go elsewhere as we didn't have jackets. The reason for the absolutely amazing review I'm about to give is the hospitality and service. The father and son owners of One20 were immediately understanding of our predicament and began giving us recommendations of other restaurants nearby. The rain started pouring down and to the surprise of my boyfriend and I, the owners had poured us both a drink (a glass of fizz for my boyfriend and freshly squeezed orange juice for myself as I'd mentioned that I wasn't drinking on arrival). The son, Lee, (apologies if the name is wrong..!!) then proceeded to phone around various restaurants, that they knew would look after us, to book us a table. They booked an Italian at the top of Leith walk and gave us space and time to finish our drinks whilst we waited for our uber. Before I left, I bought a box of beautifully hand-crafted french chocolates for my Mum and left knowing that we'll be back in the very near future. I highly recommend for everyone to take a trip to this beautiful café/ wine bar and check out their wonderful produce and, unlike us, try out their highly rated food. We were absolutely gutted to not have enjoyed the meal we were looking forward to, however, we'll be back. And we'll be bringing the family. Thanks again, Roberta and Alex

Looking for somewhere special to celebrate 34 years with my wife, I discovered positive online reviews for this restaurant, which in all my many stays with family in Edinburgh I had never come across before. It's down the bottom of Dundas Street so somewhat off the beaten track, but well worth seeking out. We opted to start with burrata to share, but first were treated to delicious canapés on the house - a welcome surprise - and washed them down with a glass of Prosecco. The burrata was the best I've had: mozzarella with a rich filling of Stracciatella and cream, served on pan-fried toast with pesto, semi-secci tomatoes and balsamic, an excellent combination. For my main I chose parmigiana di melanzane, which also proved to be spot on. The aubergines were grilled to perfection and layered with a less-puréed-than-usual tomato sauce, giving the dish more texture as well as taste. My wife opted for sea bass but this was unavailable on the Monday night we visited, so she accepted the suggestion of salmon as an alternative and was no less delighted with it. Dessert came in the form of salted caramel kouignettes, which were perhaps a little chewy but pleasing enough, washed down with a glass of Tempranillo Rubis. We got chatting to the owner and mentioned in passing how delighted we were to find such a good restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. A short time later he reappeared with a card, two glasses and more dessert wine, again on the house - a very thoughtful gesture to mark our special occasion and first visit to One20 wine café. There will be more visits to come - this is certainly the best restaurant I've found in Edinburgh in many years of looking.
