We got caught in traffic and called about our booking time to which there was no answer. No numbers on table which made ordering using the app a bit harder. No water on menu app. No Prosseco on app Wobbly table which was just annoying. Dirty glass when I finally got a Prosseco, the bar tender got another three dirty glasses before I got a clean one. The food was very nice. The staff were polite and the place was clean and not overly busy.

Lovely visit!! Last day of our holiday and we decided that as we were nearby we would pop in to slug and lettuce for some drinks and food. It was quiet, drinks were fabulous and so quick, food was good too! Staff working were lovely and we left having happily spent a few hours here. Would definitely go back :)

Didn’t think we would be able to get a table but was not an issue. A couple of things were not available but got informed when ordering at the bar. It wasn’t too busy but was refreshing seeing staff enjoy working this close to Christmas, especially in hospitality. Overall I would highly recommend this establishment, 50% off cocktails were not on just now but will visit again to take full advantage of the offer. Good atmosphere and got to enjoy our drinks!

What could have been a bad experience was totally saved & turned around by Aleks the manager. We popped in to use a voucher we got for Christmas. We ordered food & cocktails. Drinks were fantastic but after 45 mins had to chase the food. The wrong order arrived & so we sent the wrong part back. I asked to speak to the manager in private to explain the disappointment. I don't believe in critiquing a bar or restaurant without giving them a chance to respond. Aleks sat with us & listened to our complaint, she agreed the service & food had not been to standard. The food was removed from our bill & constructive feedback accepted graciously. We will be back & give them the chance to redeem themselves with the food. The new cocktail menu is great I highly recommend the melon on my mind it's delicious. Thanks to Aleks for taking on board our feedback & acting on it. Top marks

I have been to so many slug and lettuce in the past couple of years and none compares to this one in Edinburgh! Our server was called Jaz and she was lovely and friendly! I had never eaten at a Slug but Jaz provided excellent knowledge about the menu and also my allergens. Would 100% come back to this Slug and Lettuce every weekend just for the good atmosphere and exceptional service :)

I was in on Saturday evening, the service was absolutely fantastic from the minute we arrived until the minute we left. I visited last night with my husband,daughter and son in law for dinner b4 the theatre! Very busy place and it was only 5.30pm! Our table was booked but when we walked in No one approached us so my husband went to the bar and told them we had a table booked, he told us waiting staff would attend us!! We stood for a wee while b4 we were approached by an unfriendly girl who just pointed and said your table and walked away!!?? Luckily the girl waiting our table was lovely! The menu was great, lots of choices from sharing plates, small plates to the good old fish and chips etc something for everyone! Good sized plates, well presented and well cooked food! Good service even though it was extremely busy! Very handy for the theatre so it worked out the perfect eating place for us!! We would go back!!

We stumbled into this place as they had the lunch menu. That made food really cheap. We then noticed that it had a deal for cocktails. They are really good. 50% of all cocktails at selected times. And these are good cocktails with decent amount of alcohol, not like overpriced juice you get in other places. This place is definitely worth a visit, if not for food, then for cocktails. Will be coming back.

It's a while since I visited a slug and lettuce but if they are all like this I'll try another. Decor is very colourful with very nice lighting. Staff were very good. Food was good, small plates were larger than expected. Prices seemed reasonable. Well worth a visit.

It's one of those places that's very convenient due to location. It's become a venue of choice for me and a couple of friends for after work meets, even though we probably wouldn't meet there on any other night (it gets crowded at the weekends). The choice of cocktails is quite impressive and there are some mid-week deals (a bottle of wine for £11). Food isn't anything too fantastic, but it's fine and not very expensive - but sometimes it's not exactly as described in the menu. Never had too much problems with the service, waiters are perfectly nice, but it can be slow. And sometimes you're waiting at the bar to be served and there's no bar tender to be seen. In which case you're better off going to Playfair, which is just opposite.

Very tasty food, I had the battered halloumi which was a superb alternative to the cod, which unfortunately they had run out of. The reason this was 4 stars rather than 5, was due to cleanliness, on some of the bench and fabric seats there was a mysterious black mark? It did not come off onto my hand but it was still off putting. It was of no major concern. Would definitely dine here again.

I feel the expression "You can't polish a slug" is an apt description of this place. Its a place where you can buy food and drinks, no frills attached. The service is fairly slow and the food isn't amazing, but the prices are fair and the location is great. The staff were friendly enough and seemed pretty rushed the day I was in there so the timing of food was fair in my opinion. They do a lovely falafel wrap and made sure to check my dietary requirements upon ordering. I would definitely go again, but then I didn't have particularly high expectations on visiting the first time. I recommend popping in for a bite if you're in the neighbourhood and don't have loads of cash to splash!

Not perhaps in quite the right place on the map, it's inside the omni centre although this makes it look around the back. Been here a few times and I would say it's fine and the main eating bit always seem busy. Most recently I went for lunch - on Tuesday they do 50% off food which is a rather good deal. The food was pretty tasty too. The menu is quite extensive with all the usual pub grub and a lighter options 'under 500cal' selection. The place doesn't have much character, but for grabbing a bite to eat before the cinema or a show at the playhouse it does the job.
