Fantastic bar, super friendly and knowledgeable staff. I think our server was Michael? I hope that is right as that's what our bill said. If it was, thank you for your amazing service you really made the experience. Happy to help with anything and made sure you had everything you could need. Very unique, beautiful decor. It is very well maintained, you can tell that everyone here loves their job and it shows. Without a doubt the best cocktail bar I've been to, I will be back just for this bar alone!

The cocktails here were pretty good and the staff were friendly but I don't think the vibe was quite our scene. Also felt that the layout could have been more intimate. Felt like it was more set up for large groups to have a dance than for those looking for a chat over great cocktails. Would come again on a night out in a group though :)

Such a cool bar with a super chilled out vibe. Really interesting and... unique decor that I couldn't stop looking at. Great music, quick service and really tasty cocktails, the Mo Mango and Running with the Bulls were our favourites!

Worked here for two years and loved every minute. Continued to DJ every month thereafter and would never give it up, amazing bar with an amazing atmosphere. The staff know what they want, and that's important! With a no nonesene attitude they deliver a safe and comfortable enviroment for all customers present. All round fantastic workforce, door staff and bar staff alike. The drinks are inexpensive and every so often there are new goodies on offer such as rotating craft beers, select spirits and new cocktail menus to keep the bar interesting. All bar staff have a good knowledge of classic cocktails and can rustle up anything on your mind. The atmosphere is energetic. Very contemporary with a sense of the pride felt throughout. Quality selection of DJs every night. 99 is always busy on a Saturday night and the DJs keep it vibrant. Midweek to the start of the weekend is dependant on a variety of factors, like any other bar. The bar is closed on Mondays. I have an affinity for this venue, but to be able to walk in here for the first time again is on my top ten redo list.

Stopped by here before our meal and was really surprised and impressed by the place, never even knew the place existed! The staff were really nice and the two cocktails I had were brilliant, the overall decor is actually really pleasing and chill, would love to go back here at some point.

99 Hanover Street is a fun, chic cocktail bar just off George Street. I've visited a couple of times for nights out with friends and enjoyed myself. Word of warning - If you visit on a Friday or Saturday night it tends to be packed so don't expect to grab a seat unless you get there early and do expect to queue up at the bar. If you love cocktails there's plenty of choice and you can even book cocktail lessons with the friendly bar staff as my sister tried out recently on her hen night - I'm not sure of the results! The decor is old fashioned up market chic and there's often live DJ's adding to the atmosphere. It's definitely a place to be seen. My only reservations are the prices (expensive by Edinburgh standards, though not unusual for the George Street area) and I personally prefer my bars not to be quite so packed (likely an age thing!). But it's still a great place to visit if you want to explore Edinburgh's night life.

The decor is nice, the drinks are nice the location is nice but it's too small, there's a strange mix between seating and standing areas which make it feel like the noise and atmosphere in the place is largely generated by those people who are sat down. I'd say it is a four star venue with too many seats in too small a place which prohibits getting to meet new people as much as might otherwise be possible. It is not as nice a bar as other similar ones such as Voodoo Rooms, but it is a good place to start a night out if going to Opal Lounge.

Rather nice decor with lots of lovely sofas and big velvet curtains - any one else get the vibe of being inside a theatre, or backstage somewhere with all the standing rather than seating space? Tasty drinks, including cocktails at reasonable (for edinburgh) prices. Not somewhere i would go for the whole night or to eat but for a few post work drinks on one of the quieter evenings its pretty decent. I'd probably avoid at weekends, not really my vibe then.

Just off Princess St, reasonably quiet during the week but gets busy after work. Good whisky selection and bar meals. Big comfy sofas (which I avoid as I have mobility probs). Level access from street so wherlchair friendly etc. Often do spec offers on wine, Prosecco, malt whisky of the month. Def worth checking it out.

Love, love, love this place! Ok, ignoring the pretentious staff and select few wanky (can I say that?!) customers. I love the decor, gold mirrors, glitz, comfy banquet seating, luxurious curtains and dim sultry lighting. This place is perfect for that pre-club drink, the music is pumping, the bar is crowded, there is an air of excitement and the drink is flowing - all is fine! If you are looking for a swanky bar with a touch of class, then here you have it! I usually avoid George Street bars, the ones that seem to attract 'that certain kind of person' just don't do it for me, but 99 Hanover, just seems that little bit different from the rest. The prices are a little on the expensive side, but I'm willing to pay it for that kind of environment. I like the attention to design detail and enjoy the atmosphere. I've even been here for an afternoon cuppa and it's a more chilled vibe, you can get a seat, the music is low so you are able to have a decent gossip! It's a thumbs up from me!

I felt like a tasty little cocktail while pretending I'm staying late at work from the missus. I went in explained the mood I was in and what I was after. The masterful barman said "say no more... I got you covered" he pulled out a lovely Fernet Branca cocktail. It was delicious. Nathan... you are a master. My relationship ended but the cocktail was worth it. Will definitely return. When I get fed up of the next missus! Thank you. Recommend this barmans skills and chat to get you through!

Having popped into 99 Hanover Street for dinner one evening I was not disappointed. I had an excellent burger, in fantastically luxurious surroundings, followed by very elaborate and decadent cocktails. It's definitely somewhere to visit earlier on in the evening, as it tends to get very busy, loud and crowded later on.

I waaaay prefered 99's back in the day. It was one of those bars you had to go to in Edinburgh, long back when Hawke and Hunter ruled the party scene. So many wild nights at 99's to recount. I love the sunday funday vibe it has going on, when you can catch up with everyone you know. There's a great crowd then. The rest of the time, it's definitely somewhere I'd head for a decent rum and apple.

Oh. My. God. This place was incredible. The staff was so friendly and attentive, we invited them to our show later that week. Pretty sure my friend proposed to the steak they cooked for us. This place has gone in a shared note we have for any music industry people visiting Edinburgh. The atmosphere was great, playlist was fun, food was perfection. We gave the staff a standing ovation when we left.
