Reviews of The Boozy Cow
B.
A great wee hidden gem to stop in for a bite to eat or just a drink. Although it has a dark grungy atmosphere inside it's not just for the younger crowd, although if you like tea and scones served in china cups it might not be your cup of tea. The cocktails were excellent and at a reasonable price for Edinburgh. It's better to book ahead if you want to guarantee a seat, especially if you are wanting to eat. The servers were polite, prompt and well presented. Toilets for patrons are downstairs.

Great Service. You don't necessarily need a reservation, we arrived and were given a table for 1.5 hours without a reservation. Food was delicious. Their skinny fries were beautiful. I had the boozy dog. I would definitely have it again. My partner had the Scorpion Chili Chicken and he enjoyed it as well. If you like espresso martini's their salted caramel version was the best I've had. Highly recommend.

Nice atmosphere with the music quiet so that you can have a chat. There was a strange smell throughout the restaurant. The food was average. I had the Scots Wae burger which was quite dry and the caramelised onions were missing. The cheesy fries were quite nice. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Would still recommend for a night out.

Amazing place. Loaded fries with baconnaise... And the burgers?! Omnomnom
Don't wear a shirt though, especially if you want to keep it clean. that's a bad idea...
Great staff, great drinks, and top notch food. What more could you want?
M. P.
We tried a battered maths bar for the first time . It came with ice-cream and candied peanuts. Before that we had a beef burger, slow cooked beef hotdog (with red peppers and mushrooms inside) and chips. Quenched with tropical fruit mocktail's.
D. C.
Chicken Wings were great, like really great! Fries decent and coleslaw nice. Burgers were bland. Bang average in our opinion. Especially the chicken one which charged at £11.50 was essentially a chicken breast with cheese and a bit of Parma ham slapped on top. If this was a chicken wing restaurant my review would be right up there! However, as the beef burger was pretty bang average and lacking in much flavour or imaginative fillings, I would say not great considering the name of the restaurant. Also service was not the best and a little slow to get going. Asking us if we would like a drink would have been great but we sat for a good while before anybody came along. Then we were charged a service fee as standard on the bill for the privilege… not great. Would not rush back but for clean and hot food and fantastic wings I would definitely say go for it… just don’t expect much from the burgers. 👍🏼

Really cool place, great staff, both food and cocktails taste great. Prices are good too. We got a free shot as it was my husband's birthday. And they were playing Marvel films too which we loved.

Went in for lunch on 8 April. Very welcoming waiter, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I had a lovely bacon burger with fries, very tasty. The only reason for not giving 5 stars was that the chips are not included with the burger but had to be ordered separately. Apart from this, a very positive experience. Thank you guys.
N. G.
Amazing place, if you want good food and outstanding drinks!
H. 1.
A great restaurant I really recommend it 👍🏻
F. C.
Stumble on to this place, great food but I really love the drawings on the walls.
C. W.
Great vibe in here, the food was quick and delicious and more than enough for the three of us. Sad they didn't have any wings but the rest made up for it. The winter cocktails were a really nice touch to a winter getaway
D. R.
Came to Edinburgh for a weekend and we managed to book in and eat at the Boozy Cow and we are so happy we did.
Food was absolutely incredible. I had the Philly Cheese Steak dog and my girlfriend had the maple bacon cheese burger. Both a solid 5 stars!
Service was great and price very reasonable for the quality. When we go back to Edinburgh we will absolutely be going back!
Highly recommended
S. M.
Really good food, we got the grilled macbeef and it was amazing, staff were lovely too! Definitely go again
L. B.
Food was really lovely but didn't like that the 2 burgers were severed on the same tray, made it difficult to eat. Cocktails were fabulous.
A. H.
Initially went in for a drink decided to stay for food as it looked so good. Was not disappointed. Great music, great beer and the burgers were amazing
P. C.
First time visit to The Boozy Cow and the burgers were delicious, especially my cheese burger. We got a side of fries and onion rings and while the fries were perfect I didn't enjoy the rings that much because ai found them a bit to battered (personal choice). The venue is quite cool too and good for some casual after work good and drinks.
L. K.
Great restaurant atmosphere. Serving was overall quick. The scots wae cheese burger was delicious. The patty was very well done. However, the buns were not of the greatest quality and the chips were pretty standard. However, I really liked the sauce and toppings on the chips along with the gravy sauce.
K. L.
Staff were lovely and knew everything on the food and drinks menu. The burgers tasted fresh and were nice and hot. The onion rings were honestly the best I've ever had. They were a little greasy but each table is supplied with kitchen roll so j just let then sit on there whilst I demolished my burger. I was on a weekend away to Edinburgh but I'd 100% come back here on my next visit up north
J. L.
Amazing cocktail list and food was good. Liked the atmosphere and the menu (burgers, wings, loaded chips)
R. T.
Was really nice. Staff were super friendly and the food was pretty top notch.
M. O.
It's quite nice, everything good and well priced
S. R.
Had a great experience the staff were friendly and attentive and the drinks and food was tremendous 👌
E.
The service was incredible and there was so many fun drinks to choose from on the menu, would 100% go again
S. F.
First time visiting this restaurant and we had great time!
Food was delicious, such as the cocktails.
Many options to choose from, even bun less burgers for more healthy option. They have gluten free as well.
Staff is really friendly and helpful.
We had 3 different burgers, 1 beef, 1 chicken (bunless) and a philly cheese stake. All of them were amazing!
They also have a chilli burger challenge, which I definitely will take it in the future.
Great time, going back again soon!
M. E.
The place is very cool, staff are very helpful.
food was great, brisket burger was amazing yet one small comment that the patty is not juicy enough.
but overall, i loved the experience
P. S.
The food is not bad but on the pricier side. It's a nice vibe when it's not too busy but can feel very claustrophobic when full. Ocerall a good place to eat once in a while.
D. S. (. A.
Stopped in for lunch, quiet as early midweek but love the decor and food was super tasty. Will be back on a weekend for drinks.
B. J.
Found this place by accident and turned out to be my fav cocktail bar in Edinburgh (so far). Great mixologists and great combinations of flavours - have to try at least 1!
N. M.
Fantastic discovery on a rainy day in Edinburgh. Extensive cocktail selection with knowledgeable staff, be warned the one called pain killer really does stop you feeling anything, was delicious though. Also a small outside seating smoking and drinking area for those so inclined.
J. F.
Do you want to have amazing food?
Fancy a really nice burguer with proper fries?
Do you wanna make sure you are going to have and incredible experience?
If your answer is Yes, then the boozy cow is your place.
It was pissing outside. We where tired and we wanted a really nice meal. But we tried of paying a furtune for food that does not fulfill our needs. Suddenly, we saw this place, "the boozy cow" and we went in, and just from that instant we stepped inside we knew we were going to have an amazing experience.
We arrived and there was someone waiting for us.
They quickly accommodate us and explained how everything works. We ordered a lot of food because we were starving. So we get a burguer (with doble pattie and caramelized onion), the chilly dog, chilly fries, cheese skinny fries and an Oreo milkshake.
Amazing. Everything was perfect. We meaby ordered far too much but was exquisite. All very well season and cooked. It tasted ultra nice.
If you don't know what to order, chilly fries are a must.
The staff was magnificent, very kind, all the time asking how was everything, and making us feel like at home.
Definitely, a place to go where you need quality and a good experience.
Worth every penny. Trust me.
Thanks so much to the people who makes The boozy cow experience possible. You guys are amazing. Thanks.
K. H.
Decent enough bar if you're wanting cocktails as there's plenty of good ones to choose from. In terms of beer there is only one beer on tap. These rest of the beers are in 330ml cans and are £5+ each. A. It steep for a can. Haven't had food in The Boozy Cow.
G. B.
Great atmosphere and music, drinks menu is extensive and tasty. Staff were attentive and service overall was quite fast. Both burgers we ordered looked good and tasted good except for the buns themselves which seemed to be a little stale, which in itself is probably a result of it being Boxing Day, I hope this isn’t their norm. Overall it’s more than just a pub.
C. S.
The Boozy cow is an experiance, Amazing cocktails followed by an Astonishing meal!! The burger was unforgettable with a good size and no lack of meat and veg regretabilly no side fires as is so common these days. The 'at additional cost' fries upgraded to chilli cheese were amazing the chilli wasnt weak as alot of places make it but not quite the best or hottest in town (latter is good). The decor is very diffrent to the surroundings in the Edinburgh New Town but is welcoming and a fun if uncomfortable enviroment if you like to sit at the table.... overall an impressive place that I will visit time and time again.
P.S I have no problem with paying for a side of chilli fries however a handful of fries to garnish the burger would go a long way.
D. F.
Absolutely love this restaurant. Never had food as good as this. it's own unique style on food, eating and even the decor just makes it a brilliant experience everyone should try
A. H.
Get in there hands and all! Not your average eating place that's for sure. Excellent and imaginative meals in a very relaxed atmosphere.
Served on metal trays, you are encouraged to be as messy as you need to be with rolls of paper towel handy on each table! Finally a place that 'gets me' when it comes to true enjoyment of my burgers.
Keep an ear out for their specials as you may get a non menu item or two.
Food was reasonably priced and most satisfying. A hip ambience with decor almost somewhere between old British pub and American road house theme. Hard to describe accurately but a fun place to dine, creative menu and really friendly staff.
A.
Hidden away behind a little unassuming door, but inside is really amazing. Really awesome decoration.
Food was fantastic, had the holy cow burger, cheesy fries, and the mac and cheese waffle. I thought I would be able to handle to eat it all but no its far too much food for one person. Wished I could have eaten more as it was so fantastic.
Good selection of drinks too. I had the cold town beer which is local and that was delicious.
Would definitely come again!
S. D.
Cool little place just off the radar. Great theme and lovely staff. Despite being short staffed at the time, they let us know and really did their best to serve everyone and keep things running smoothly. Cocktails were amazing and unique. Good was really good quality and the portions were extremely generous too. Would definitely go again!
S. R.
As the name suggests thus place is great for a burger and a drink. The food portions are ample and the cocktails are amazing. Not cheap though, so be prepared to spend a bit of money.
M. L.
Great looking place.. No real ale and no 'craft beer'.. Only a craft lager which for a real aler isn't the best. Superb burgers and cheesy chips.. Super friendly, polite, efficient staff..10% surcharge added to bill which I consider a bit cheeky.. I never surveyed the bill thoroughly and was all set to round up the bill from £42 to £45 until my girlfriend pointed out the surcharge...
C. D.
Love this place great food..there cheesy chips and macaroni waffle are so good! Burgers are to die for. Amazing milkshakes which change every week, cheak there Facebook account to see what it is. Always busy but they seat you quickly enough.
S. I.
Food and milkshake was yummy and the vibe was great. Great customer service
E. M.
Quality food and all but the service wisnae the best by far.
We waited about 40 minutes just fir theym tae tell us that it wasn't in their system and we need tae reorder. But the food wis good the people were kind and all in all a Cannae fault them. Too much. 4/5
I. M.
Our order got lost in the system but the staff were very good once this had been dicovered. Food was very good.
T. I.
I have no words to how incredible this place is. Definitely worth the visit. Affordable food and just look at it 😍
A. B.
Great atmosphere and drink selection
K.
Fabulous theme, really enjoyed the artwork and whole dynamic going on.
Service was great... Friendly... And cheerful. Hooray!
Food tastey and presented in theme not quite how I envisaged it so losses a star and a bit (sorry - lack of fries, cheese sauce was a dribble on one item yet a headliner for the dish). Huge ++ dessert was well worth it so gained the star bit back and my cocktail was very refreshing.
c. u.
We really enjoyed it here. Had a few really nice cocktails each (at the strength I would make at home), service was good and decor is different. Arrived tipsy left drunk....
M. G.
Just couldnt walk by without getting the taste of that name "The Boozy Cow".
We tried the Red Hot Chili Burger and The Heatwave with Chili frites. The place well deserves the 4. Place on my top burger places.
A. M.
Brilliant with a great selection of drinks, haven't tried the food yet but very much looking forward to
N. C.
Great food and lovely staff. Cocktails are definitely worth a try too!
C. “. T.
This is a really quirky little place where you can get alcoholic milkshakes in little milk bottles!
It makes you feel really nostalgic, back when you used to have milk bottles at school!
They usually have a special milkshake as well so be sure to try that!
The food here is also AMAZING!
I really recommend the deep fried pickles!
The portion sizes are huge as well so you always get your money’s worth!
The staff are really happy and friendly and the bar itself is quite cosy! The lifting can be a little dim, but other than that it’s nice!
D. H.
I’ve been to 7 countries in my 25 years on this planet and I’ve never seen chicken wings as small as the wings at this place.
SO, why the 4 stars?
The wings tastes magnificent. The boozes are marvelous. All the foods are great (except Bangkok Bad Boy that thing is meh). The service is great. Sit inside good mood, sit outside great view.
W. H.
I had The Boozy Cow recommended to me by a friend. I therefore decided to visit with 5 other people. The restaurant is situated in a basement which is dimly lit and adds the aesthetic. The seats we were on were bar stools and would probably not be suitable for older folk which struggle with mobility or take function over form. We were warmly welcomed by a member of staff but were told that due to delayed deliveries we would have to wait half an hour until they were able to serve us. This was fine, being in a city full of sights.
Coming back half an hour later we were welcomed back and shown to our table. We were the first people to arrive, but within 10 minutes the place was filling up quickly. Between us we ordered a few of the milkshakes which were all really refreshing to just Coke or Fanta. I ordered The Capaldi, which is a double patty burger which has Buckfast fried onions, cheese sauce, maple syrup and bacon. A very enjoyable burger, very filling. I feel that some of these ingredients could be swapped such as the cheese sauce, but that is personal taste. Everyone enjoyed their food and I would be back in an instant to try some other items from the menu.
K. P.
Did not have any food but loved the atmosphere and the cocktails were great
T. H.
Exellent food and drink with a quirky drinks menu with the usual staples, including a wonderful burger and mozzarella fries. Yummy. Would definitely recommend.
C. G.
Very aesthetically pleasing inside, graffitied/underground vibe. Friendly and approachable staff.
Food was delicious and great cocktail menus definitely recommend for drinks!!
Only complaint from friends is that the food was a little bit spicy as most of it contains jalapeños or chillies, but manageable heat.
M. H.
Great watering hole with a quirky theme. Staff are friendly, good food and drinks selection.
A. K.
We went there because this place had a lot of great reviews. In my opinion it is just ok. Firstly burger was alright, but a bit expensive - 11.50 without side. Ingredients of the burger were tasty - salad, cheese, crispy bacon but meat wasn't the best I think. It was tasteless. Also we wanted a pint of beer and they had only one beer in draught. that's a shame there was no more options. The staff were lovely though. I wonder how taste their hot dog :)
K. G.
It’s a cool place with really helpful staff but I think it is overpriced. We tried the milkshakes, fries and two burgers and can say the fries were really tasty. The milkshake and burger were ok but not super delicious. You spend here twice the money you would spend in another burger restaurant.
A. W.
This place was pretty cool. You walk down a flight of stairs into this lower level bar. I wouldn't consider it a pub by any definition. It has a new school feel with tagging and art along all the walls. The bartenders are definitely on point with their drinks... very delicious.
G. A.
Decent milk shakes and fried mars bars. Hope to taste their burgers one day.
b. h.
Absolutely nothing bad to say. The food is just a sloppy messy meaty scrumptious experience. The lager on draft i gave a 3/5, freindly staff and you NEED the wet wipes after.
I recommend the halumi fries
L. W.
Very quiet when we went there but can imagine it gets very busy. Loved the quirky decor and staff were lovely too
m. m.
Great service with very friendly waitress! specialised drink due to allergy by changing an ingredient. Lovely cocktails which are reasonably priced.
B. R.
Nice cocktails and food, on the pricier side be warned
G. S.
Great cocktails, friendly staff
I. R.
Very friendly service, good range of cocktails and the small bits of food we had were pretty good
G. R.
Brilliant restaurant and fantastic food. Service was great (thanks Marc).
Very tasty vegan options, good portion sizes, all tasted very fresh and good selection of cocktails. Fairly priced for city centre. Will Definitely return.
P. W.
If you're prepared to get stuck in (cutlery is scarce but each table has its own roll of kitchen towel), then this a great place for decent burgers and sides. Nice menu and good service. Would recommend.
A. W.
Great food and drink. Really good cocktails and boozy shakes. Above all brilliant customer service. Top place. We keep going back. Lovely atmosphere - great restaurant.
H. B.
What a great find!!!! Quirky, original menu with great cocktails and beer. Keeping it simple but done so well. The team were super friendly and we followed their drink and menu recommendations which were fabulous!! Thanks for looking after us so well, will definitely be back for more 😊
A. M.
First drinks out after lockdown and it was a great experience. Really impressed with the choice of vegan and vegetarian food and love that all the cocktails are vegan too. Staff were so friendly and really knowledgeable about food and drink. Cocktails also great. Will be back. Highly recommend.
J. H.
Very busy, but had a table with in 20 minutes of arriving. Food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
J. R.
Lovely food burgers were perfect and the cheesy chips we're amazing bar staff friendly
I. S.
Nice wee bar in a cracking location. Only had drinks so can’t comment of the food. When we arrived we were informed that they we staff members down and there may be a wait but we were served quickly. Would definitely visit again.
H. Y.
The chili cheese fries were fantastic! Despite being insanely busy, we got food and boozy milkshakes pretty quickly. Reasonably priced.
L. m. C.
My friend and I went to the boozy cow and had such a good time. All steps have been taken to ensure customer safety. Screens between tables, sanitiser bottles throughout and you are offered wet wipes after your meal. I somehow managed to survive drinking the painkiller and the fried pickles are to die for. Will be back soon.
L. M.
My experience of the Boozy Cow is really mixed. The staff were lovely despite being rushed off their feet. I had one of the best Martinis I have ever had and my friend loved her Skittles cocktail. But the food left a reasonable amount to be desired. All the veggie burger options were built around fake meat which is really frustrating when you don't like it and the only other option was BBQ pulled jackfruit and mac and cheese sandwich which was okay. My friend had a meat burger that was visibly really dry. However the halloumi fries and skinny fries were great. It was a really mixed bag. I would happily go back for drinks and snacks but wouldn't eat a meal there again.
A. M.
Nice bar with good drink selection and also a cocktail selection if that's what you're into. Very nice shakes. Was also very accomodating at putting table decorations up for a friend's birthday.
G. P.
Really great service and drinks here, great venue also at reasonable prices. My only criticism would be to introduce a few more vegan options, especially as it would be so easy to accomodate with their current menu (and likely appeal to a lot more people)
D. t. o. v.
Really tasty food and drinks - only issue was sitting on the high tables and feeling a bit squished in with the table behind you
R. S.
After a hard day's shopping in Edinburgh, stopped off here. Perfect end to the day. Lovely atmosphere inside and full attention to Covid detail from the staff. Had the burger and skinny fries, both amazing!! Will definitely return when back in Edinburgh 😉
E. C.
Amazing food. Comes on a tray to share so you can spread the love eating together. Absolutely loved it, will be back
R. R.
It's canny. Off the beaten track, but worth a visit. However, me beer was served in an old fashioned bubble glass. Sat outside and watched the world go by.
K. M.
I love e the boozy cow!!! The Edinburgh one has a great size and location to it and have been in many times. Today however I was very disappointed. I ordered the wings with hot sauce, chips, burger and onion rings. It came in good time. When it was set down however I noticed there was no blue cheese dip, I scurried over to the waitress and said sorry I think the blue cheese dip is missing and she said ok and made her way to the kitchen. She returned saying sorry they have been making a big batch all day and it's not finished yet so here is some more thousand island. What?! Then eating the onion rings they were under cooked to the point there was flour in the middle of one and the batter was like eating a terrible undercooked cake. I mentioned it to another waitress with blue hair whom was lovely! Apologised and took our onion rings and drinks off of our bill and said sorry again. She was so great. It will not stop me going back, I think the first waitress was just having a bad day, everything was a hassle and came with an attitude. Chips were so good though! The cajun spice was a great touch, the wings themselves were good too.
N. T.
Place was very load and very cramped. Food and shakes average at best. Like the idea of the place but it didn't live up to the hype.
A. H.
Great little restaurant. Good choice of burgers and and sides. Could do with more choice of beers, but the food was excellent and would go again.
k. n.
Staff were very friendly and always made sure we were good for drinks also the cocktails are amazing in here! New favourite place to drink in Edinburgh & Will definitely be back!
A. M.
Beautiful place, great atmosphere. One of the few nice places with the situation at this time!
S. E.
Good food selection (also vegetarian) and a nice selection of craft beers. Those are served in chilled cans - changing beers on tap as well.
M. D. C.
Nice atmosphere and cocktails, however not variety of beers.
S. F.
Cocktails where good food was spicy whatis nice and good service was good to
B. H.
Hidden secret! Stumbled across this place and wow what a find. Food lush, staff awesome and milkshake cocktails to die for! Will return!
S.
Delicious burger and loaded fries.Very good service
M. M.
Food was great, portions are huge, proper loaded chilli cheese fries and Philly cheese steak
A. C.
This place Rocks 👍 great food, great atmosphere, friendly staff.
Super stylish inside 👌
B. M.
Great atmosphere. Super trendy, friendly staff. Very concerned about food allergies for some reason. Service was good. A mistake with our order was rectified in less than 60 seconds. Food was wonderful. Spicy wings and maple cheddar burger was to die for. We were in Edinburgh for two nights and ate here both nights. I'll definitely be back again
H. J.
Authentic American bbq soul food ! If visiting Edinburgh it's worth checking out ... Vegan/vegetarian/Glutenfree!!
L. F.
Visited the Boozy Cow on a weekend trip to Edinburgh with my partner. Staff greeted us at the entrance and seated us once we confirmed our booking. The place is extremely popular and I suggest booking a few days to a week in advance. Food was amazing, philby cheese steak, bacon cheeseburger, halloumi fries and normal fries. Amazing choice of cocktails, unfortunately we had a little hangover and we're on the soft drinks but will be returning to try them next time. Also just to add they had good covid regulations in place.
K. M.
A trendy, funky, fun place with good food, great staff and fab cocktails. As a social enterprise this is a great example of how to creatively make a difference in the community. #welldone
P. S.
Came here with family for a quick drink, the cocktails are fantastic and the staff are very friendly. There are many steps to get in and out of the main entrance and I didn't see any other entrances.
The decor is nice but I am not a fan of high tables and not backrest, I didn't see any normal tables but they have had some in another area.
I would really like to come back and try the food, the place looks great and imagin the good is also good.
M. M.
Nice cocktails friendly staff! Cool venue
V. I.
Not much beer choice, but this is a cocktail paradise! Nice atmosphere and very pleasant people will make your evening!
C. C.
They have a 4 pint tower of either lager or IPA! The food was fantastic, atmosphere great, and the staff are the best.
R. R.
Lovely place with some great cocktails. Would definitely recommend
N. S.
I tried booking a table before going with no luck but didn't give up that easily, I managed to nab a table as a walk in, and glad I did. Lovely service, efficient safety measures and great food. I'm a vegan and ordered the fluid burger. I actually asked that it be double checked that it was vegan because it tasted THAT meaty. Amazing. Good enough for carnivores and herbivores alike. Lovely place and well worth a visit
S. G.
First time visiting, very good experience, drinks, food food service all very good - definitely will visit again !
G. “. G. M.
Food was amazing 🎩👌🥳🥳
S. G.
It's a very loud and busy pub/restaurant at the weekend. We only had drinks here and it was amazing. Will go back midweek and try something thing and have the food there... it looked fan
J. P.
Very cool and trendy place to drink. Little bit more expensive than other places we visited, be we still enjoyed it here.
M. C.
I had a coke float! Do you know how seldom you can get that. Quirky name quirky place.
M. W.
The food and service was great. But on the way out I didn't notice the step and I fell. It's quite dark at the exit so between that and wearing a mask it's not good.
T. W.
Very welcoming staff ar this basement eatery . Funky interior decor, and some pavement seating, and good range menu. Well placed between Princes and George St.
J. K.
Great sun trap out front, good strong dangerous cocktails
G. J.
The food here was an absolute joy to eat. We ordered the Haggis Pops (which came with an AMAZING whisky and brown sauce), Chilli Fries and the Buttet me Up burger. Would definitely recommend as the flavours were fantastic
N. M.
Great cocktails...would be nice to see more common cocktails. Bar staff not very friendly and clearly hate making cocktails!
M. S.
Fun and imaginative food choices! Laura was the best so see if she is working!
A. H.
Really friendly staff, good food and amazing cocktails! Will be back next time we are in Edinburgh
A. B.
Great restaurant. Beat our expectations of we're honest. Plenty of gluten free availability, even though not listed on the menu.
L. T. H.
Good cocktails, reasonably priced
V. L.
My favourite cocktail bar!! Incredible and very imaginative cocktails, I never know which one to choose! Great food too, the burgers are really good. Love the live music nights! Such a casual and cozy place to chill, absolutely love it!
S. Y.
Great food. Great service. Friendly staff and a nice selection of drinks. Couldn't fault our visit at all.
S. H.
Great place that we found by accident, had two 'Lady Garden' cocktails that were very nice but a little over sweet for our taste. The staff were very friendly and we returned again a few days later and had some food, all of it was delicious and we tried more cocktails including their alcoholic milkshakes that were delicious also.
K. N.
My sister's and I ordered the painkiller cocktail, was SO good! Would most definitely go back!
R. M.
Great bustling atmosphere with good vibe and quirky interiors. Staff were really friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Super choice of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails as well as alcohol-free drinks such as shakes. Food was tasty, great value for money and came out quickly. So glad we came here under recommendation and would definitely recommend onto someone else!
S. M.
One of the strangest bars we have ever been to. The name of it is what sold us. Staff was nice!
G. r. p.
Amazing burger & cocktails. Staff are lovely and friendly too!
D. U.
Good old fashioned Scottish pub theres nothing better
C. J.
Lovely burgers. Great cocktails. Bit pricey but worth it for the odd treat. Good patient helpful staff ,we were a bit drunk, our waitress helped us decide where we'd go next. Cool decour etc
M. B.
The vegan chickless burger was very tasty and well balanced flavour, staff were friendly and helpful.
M. R.
Cocktails are sweet but well made
Burgers are £ but good
L. !.
First, they have a lot of table space so in a pinch you can grab a bite, even on busy nights. The staff were very friendly and efficient, and the kitchen was pretty quick. Sadly, the burgers were the weak link: a little dry, not well put together. The sides were great though, especially the skinny fries and halloumi!
R. P.
Great food, and great service
J. K.
Food is alright. The place itself is alright too. A bit small I'd say, but good. The music is extremely loud for such a small area, so don't expect to socialise much, cos you cannot hear your own thoughts. You do need to wait for quite a bit to get your drink. Even if it is just a beer. But selection of cocktails is very wide, which is a win.
D. R.
Fab food, cocktails could have been a little more alcohol in them as were filled up to brim with ice and was over sweet with juice
A. O.
A cool place to grab a bite and a drink. The Philly steak was really tasty although the bread was a bit over toasted for my liking. The cheese burger is nice but the patty is a little dry. Not a big fan of the fajita.
G. M.
Aimed at a younger audience with a selection of alcoholic cocktails, milkshakes, slushies. Also serves food with an appealing menu. Some street tables and lower off street tables.
I. C.
Great wee bar. Friendly staff good service.
J. P.
Not bad wee afternoon bar, can't comment on the food but the drinks were good.
J. H.
The atmosphere wasn't for me (graffiti walls, bit of an industrial feel, live music a bit too loud for the acoustics of the space), but that's just my taste and the food and service were great so I'm not complaining. Good variety on the menu and very tasty. Bit on the pricier side for a burger, but not outrageous. Great location as well, as long as you're not squeamish about homeless individuals that have a few spots they set up in the alleys nearby (very friendly people as well).
A. K.
Cool place and excellent burgers. You can find burgers in every restaurant in the UK, but there are just few with really nice burgers which are not too dry, not too juicy and well flavoured. This place is one of them. The service is also good! Highly recommended!
D. B. W.
Ordered take away from a very nice lady, a bit confusing about dip-sauces since you got to pick from existing dishes dips, not a dip-menu! Then they only had small bags so had to carry 6 small bags home, which was kind of clunky with all the Edinburgh wind! The two dips we ordered was nowhere to be found however, which was kind of disappointing.. BUT; The food was great! For the price we got amazingly tasting food, and we were all happy!
So a four, minus for clunky carrying and missed dips, but big plus for a nice waiter and great food!
A. K.
Pretty basic burgers. Didn’t taste like anything special. Not much flavour. Neat and bread a bit dry. Expensive for what it is. No sides with the burger so you have to pay for those extra. Drinks very pricey as well. Most cost as much or more than the food. The atmosphere was cool - like a grungy basement. Service was good.
L. A.
Visited this bar on 7th July 2021, greeted at the door by a very friendly member off staff who showed us to a table, all staff so friendly and attentive, cocktails amazing, will definately be back soon x
B. S.
Absolutely gorgeous burgers. Huge variety of interesting cocktails and reasonably priced. Very happy with our meals. Nice big portions. Profits go to charity! Would recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh. Great service and fantastic atmosphere.
A. H.
Overall, this is probably a 7.5/10. I enjoyed the frosted beers and the interior of the restaurant is quite cool. We experienced good service too. The location is very good.
The burgers are good but there are many other restaurants that offer tastier burgers for a similar price. The big let down with the burgers is that the buns are just so supermarket standard. A decent bun with quality bread makes such a difference.
Also, the default here is well done; which is a bit strange as medium rare is the default for better burger joints. The red slaw was a bit flavour-less too and the sweet potato fries were just OK.
With a few positive changes, this could be an 8/10.
L. C.
Came here for drinks and loved it. Great atmosphere and a waitress with short dark hair made us feel very welcome. Defo be back next time I'm in Edinburgh!
A. Q.
Nice casual dining. Great options for all. Good options. Staff friendly. Loved it
T. S.
We went to Scotland for our Honeymoon and spent 10 days exploring the country. We stayed close to downtown Edinburgh and we Googled places to eat and this came up. Right when you walk in the atmosphere is great. It's sort of a basement, I believe we walked down some stairs to get into the building. The waitress we had was really nice and she answered all of our questions we had. If we ever get back to Edinburgh I'd go here again.
L. M.
Fun but cozy vibe, with unique (and strong) cocktails !
M. L.
Great food and location, but service is very poor, especially given the pricing * (staff is rather slow)
K. M.
Best in Edinburgh for a burger/fries and a cocktail. The boozy mikeshakes are fantastic!
E. H.
We went in here for some cocktails since my parents were "cocktail virgins". The atmosphere was great, the bar staff were very friendly and knowledgeable when it came to what a newbie should try first. We didn't try the food, but we have heard some good things about it, we will be sure to try the menu next time!
Overall, this was a great experience and would recommend it to someone wanting to try some cool and adventurous drinks.
J. L.
Went for a bite to eat after work with a few colleagues, the wait staff were excellent. Good relaxed atmosphere, food was excellent, and the boozy milkshakes were extremely tasty.
Our waitress had excellent banter, blending with the atmosphere of the group, (to the extent of even making a couple of jibs about our friend terrible choice of shirt, and she was right he looked moronic).
She also helped with the best things to order and we ended up with an excellent meal. Reasonably priced for the centre of town, and the quality of the food.
If burgers and fries with chilli and cheese are your thing, you can't go wrong with a Boozy Cow
R. R.
Boozy Cow serves really good food at a price just a shade too high. Their burgers are genuinely excellent, but come with no sides, all of which must be ordered separately and are not cheap. The cocktails and shakes are again, really tasty - and just that bit more pricey than they're worth.
Staff were OK. Polite and friendly, but hard to flag down and didn't take one of our table members allergies seriously. Seemed to think that an allergic reaction had to be either anaphylaxis or it wasn't real.
When we went out, they were advertising on the Premium Benefits website as accepting their discount card, but refused it on the day. Not great.
T. M.
Brilliant food and drink here. Cool vibe and plesant staff, recommend a visit
T. B.
Drinks are fantastic, unique scene, the hamburgers had to much of a Lipton soup or meat loaf taste, definitely had better. But servers were friendly. Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock Cafe,Red Robin or Carl Jrs burgers are more my families style.
g. m.
Amazing food.. burgers are special..👍👍
A. A.
Quality of food was very good, although food came inside a tray rather than individual plates, not easy to eat from. It had an interesting atmosphere. One of the waitresses was very friendly, another one quite rude. The manager was attentive and gave us a discount, after we complained about the rudness, which was a nice gesture.
S. D.
Really good atmosphere and the drinks / food we're really good also, would highly recommend.
P. R.
Staff were brilliant, attentive and friendly
Great little alternative style place with a very welcomeing vibe. Covid regulations made us feel safe and looked after also.
Food was lovely and the cocktails were even better. Very fresh and different.
Awesome burger place and the fries are the best!
D. E.
Superb DIRTY food, great cocktails
J. W.
Super friendly staff and cocktails were lovely
G. T.
Great place to have a munch of a real tasty burger. Sided are extra so look at your menu properly. Not the friendliest of interiors with dark gothic style graffiti but a good vibe all in.
J. A.
Great American style food if you're not on a diet! Amazing cocktails and great service.
N. N.
visted after seeing great reviews & i can't agree more with how good this place is. staff, service, food & drinks - all exceptional quality. we had a feast. the classic choc mint shake is pure indulgence. the twizzler cocktail is a definite. the cocktail menu deserves its own 5* review !
A. D.
This is one of the coolest bars I've been to. The decor is awesome and I spent as much time wandering around reading the walls as i did talking to my friends.
The cocktail menu is extensive, fun and absolutely delicious. On top of that the prices were very reasonable.
Would totally recommend this place to others.
A. H.
Really nice food and cocktails. The deep fried mars bar was 😍 friendly service as well
C. M.
I love the boozy cow the burgers are always delicious and juicy. And packed full. There's plenty to choose from! Staff are always cheery and friendly and give you recommendations. The cocktail's are the best the pink angel is my favourite! . It's not too expensive either. Definitely my favourite place to go for burgers!
E. Z.
As our lovely waitress said: "If you're looking for a healthy bite, you came to the wrong place"! Then, if you want really good burgers, great service (as I said, really nice waitress, super caring!) and even better fries, check this place! And, BTW, the pub itself is LIT: loved the whole grunge/rock/underground furniture and painting, a nice take on an American influence!
R.
Love this place! Always make sure to pop in when visiting Edinburgh! Love the interior it is quirky! Cocktails are brill and so are the staff. Chicken wings were so tasty!
L. B.
Had an amazing burger here full of flavour and piping hot! I had a go at some cocktails and the waitress made a suggestion and it didn't disappoint! Can't comment on desert as I was too full! Will def be back next time in Edinburgh!
M. C.
Great decor, lovely atmos, good pint
A. N.
Lovely food and specialising in cocktails and real beers. Urban style bar / restaurant, very popular with young trendy adults. Was very busy and really packed in the bar area when we visited. Perfect location just off Princes street, very handy for shopping and sight seeing.
J.
Good choice of drinks and food. Really enjoyed our loaded fries with maple bacon!
J. Y.
Really quirky bar, excellent service
G.
Great food and drinks, I went for the Hot Dorito’s Chicken Burger - was so good and totally unique
C. S.
Very good food and great music playing, plus cold Tennent's beer!
S. E.
Good service. Great drinks. Burgers are over priced, didn't feel we got value for money but it is in the city centre so prices are expected to be inflated.
H. D. K.
Really cool place with many options to eat and drink. Placed in a central location, very helpful and friendly staff. I particularly liked the decorations of the place. Visit to grab a bite (delicious burgers) or a drink. Cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Well done and keep it up.
E. P.
Attentive waitress, prompt order arrival, delicious food...Was just visiting Edinburgh for the day. The Boozy Cow was recommended by friends....good food, quirky decor, definitely worth the visit. Will go again next time in Edinburgh.!!!
P. W.
Very good food; some of the best burgers you'll find in Edinburgh and excellent skinny fries but....
Horrible, sticky tables; uncomfortable stools; slightly condescending, cooler-than-thou staff and, worst of all, our meal for two was served on a single, deliberately old and battered looking tin tray.
No plates, no cutlery.
The tray was only large enough for one of us to have it close enough to eat from at a time before sliding it over to let the other take a bite. Who's idea was this? We decided to confirm our tedious, suburban values by daring to ask for a couple of plates and, possibly, an odd piece of cutlery? Our waitress explained, in a tone that suggested that we should really think about changing our minds, that their policy is "eat messy" and that they only give customers plates and cutlery if they specifically ask.
"We are specifically asking."
She returned with two blue-rimmed, white tin plates of the type produced as utility goods in times of war or serious economic hardship. And some kitchen roll.
Is this really what people go for or am old fashioned for preferring to eat using as a bear minimum, a plate and some cutlery? I think has been generally agreed to be normal since the bronze age but I could be wrong.
C.
This is one of my favourite places to eat in Edinburgh, I go every time. The food is amazing with a wide range of choices to please anyone's tastes. The drinks that are on offer again are great and plentiful. Location and atmosphere are brilliant and the staff are always amazing. I can easily recommend here for food drinks, or just somewhere to get a milkshake and chill out.
P. J.
Great cocktail menu, and fun mixes. Good food too - burger and hot dog based, all cooked well and very tasty.
N. P.
Cool and different place to eat and drink something new and tasty!
j. h.
Great staff and amazing food. Been here a couple of times and never been disappointed.
C.
Pro's:
Tasty food
Reasonable price*
Con's:
Food all crammed onto one tray between the two of us with no extra side plates for sauce or anything.
The 'crispy' wings are not crispy.
The burger 'dipped' in the sauce I thought sounded really tasty, was only a drizzle. Struggled to taste it in most bites and had to make do with ketchup for the rest which definitely wasn't as nice.
Overall: I think the attempt to save money has left a couple of holes that maybe some people might not be too bothered about, but if I'm expecting one thing and get another I will usually not be pleased. The price is reasonable for the food you get but I would have been happy with a slightly smaller burger (I got three massive breasts on it when one and a half would have been enough) with a lot less salad and slaw (the slaw actually made the bun soggy wet) on my own plate with the amount of sauce advertised. By no means bad, but if you haven't been there already you might feel a bit put out by the serving standards.
d.
Average burgers enveloped in a huge breadbun. Don't be fooled, the sides are only one person portion not for two as we were advised (3 guys). Cheery service, cool music and a sweet treat of cola bottles on departure
K. M.
Amazing cocktails and large portions of chips, what more could you want ?
M. C.
OK so its very different from your usual eating experience, your encouraged to eat with your fingers and get messy so it wont be everyone's thing for sure but the food tasted amazing and the guys working there were amazing, really friendly and helpful. If your feeling like you want a change from the norm and a casual easy going lunch definitely try it!
E. S.
Epic diner, loud live music super accepted. Really tasty burgers, which explodes in your mouth like a bomb when you bite it! Fries not included. Just cause they are huge and offer a lot of various types of sides. Mega cocktail, with strange glasses and combination of tastes.
Go on guys!
Sincerely,
From Italy!
A. C.
Standard looking place but they really surprised us with how GOOD the cocktails are, we had the Mooberry Bluffin (which was exceptional) and the Appletini which was also really good. Cool place and ace staff.
j. m.
Food was OK but nothing too special, onion rings were underdone, but homemade ones can be tricky. My only major issues were A: the music was almost nightclub loud, making it difficult to have a conversation without shouting and B our bill when presented to us was double what we had expected and then had to wait 15 minutes for our server(s) - we had 3 different people for some strange reason - to figure out what had gone wrong and how to correct it. Apart from that it was OK, I will probably try again at a quieter time of day and see if that makes a difference
P. N.
Quite an original place that may be not to everyone's taste.
I appreciate they have vegetarian options (2) burgers. Mine looked home made what is also a bonus yet it was quite dry and I wouldn't order again. The meaty one was good ( so I've been told).
I don't think I'll come back but try it for yourself.
N. H.
Okay bar - no beers - and food finished too early!
Y. R.
Loved the cocktails and food. The philly steak was delicious
S. G.
Great atmosphere lovely drinks
B. M.
Three stars...... So atmosphere was great, busy vibrant pub/bar/club. Decor was unusual to say the least. Food.... Hmmm the food was tasty, plenty of it.... But served on plastic trays with no cutlery, so sharing a tray between two people wasn't good. Nothing on Draught, but plenty of cocktail choices (not cheap). Overall as a person in there early forties I was certainly not there demographic customer. First time I felt old haha. If your twenty five and under you will have a fantastic time no doubt.
M. Z.
quite an interesting place with proper burgers and fancy coctails
D.
Thee food is good but I would question if it is good value for money. Burgers and sides are paid for separately so it can add up quite quickly.
The service and atmosphere is great though.
J. M.
The wife was keen to attend to her meaty needs after a week long attempt at veganism, I maintained my animal free ways and opted for a move mountains burger, it was rather good. The wife had a philly steak somethingorother, it looked immense and she delighted in the meaty goodness, very nice selection of full fat fully alcohilised drinks, nice calm atmosphere, great staff and menu, loose 1 star for the poor selection of AF options and how dark it is, what's with the darkness???
T. d. J.
Nice burgerplace with good burgers and excellent fries. A bit dark in the back, but other than that a good place to sit. Staff was okay and so were the prices. If you're looking for good burgers in Edinburgh, this is a good place.
G. S.
Great food, atmosphere and brilliant service, a must of you in Edinburgh
C. B.
Great venue. Good beer and Haggis Pops are amazing. Really great staff too!
J. K.
This is without a doubt the best restaurant experience I have ever had in Edinburgh, and that's also taking in the fact that we had to wait 10 minutes before we were served, and were eating in the evening where the restaurant proceeds to turn into a nightclub.
My girlfriend and I found the menu to this restaurant online and decided to eat there.
Despite us not being served for 10 minutes, they apologised profusely for the inconvenience and offered to take us to a nicer quieter setting to eat and were very lovely.
The food is on another level, we ordered the holy cow burger and also treated ourselves to a Nutella doughnut milkshake. We couldn't get over how good the food and the drink were.
The decor and atmosphere were really great as well, but the restaurant wouldn't have left a good impression on us if it weren't for the friendly waitresses as well; it might have been that we were the only customers actually ordering food at that point of the day but the waitresses serving us made us feel welcome and well looked after.
The Boozy Cow is undoubtedly the greatest restaurant experience I have had in Edinburgh thanks to the food, the drink and the customer experience.
I would recommend all of our friends to eat there.
G. G.
Fantastic cocktails including the Painkiller which is served flaming! Food was good but a little messy and needed some more flavour. Had the chicken burger but had way too many jalapenos.
A. M.
This place is great, second night in a row. Really lovely cocktails, great burgers they make themselves. And the staff are all really friendly, nice feel about the place.
B. W.
Good wee place to stop off for the most sugar filled cocktail you'll ever have! Genuinely every cocktail I've had there is bitter with sweetness, the major perk is that all the staff are gorgeous!
B. G.
Nice cocktails and nice combinations! As an egg intolerant, watch out for the egg yolk on the menu!
D. R.
Everything about this place - YES. great food, great cocktails, amazing decor
D. O.
This place is fab! You can't go wrong with £15 bottles of prosecco all week! The milkshakes are to die for. I'm yet to eat here but I've heard great things and the photos make the food look delicious! :D
J. M.
Really good cocktail bar, reasonably priced (for Edinburgh). Pleasant staff and a good atmosphere. Highly recommended for a drink or two on your way round Edinburgh.
E. W.
Lovely pub, painted artwork all around the room amazing, staff lovely
E. C.
Not a bad place for a quick bite, however the food is overpriced and same with the drinks. The food is overpriced because the burger was £9 bland and without a side. I would not recommend going here for a nice meal, because you won’t get one. That being said, the staff was friendly, the atmosphere is unique and location is great.
D. C.
Went for a few drinks, the prices where a tad on the high side but we expected that, with it being in town. Great choice for selection and nice layout. Staff were friendly and helpful.
L. C.
Querky place with a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Food was okay but overall very expensive.
n.
Good vibe, good music. Some staff really good, others obviously didn't want to be there. There were some drinks sat on the bar for ages waiting to be delivered. Their screaming out of order numbers was annoying... they need to find a better way.
S. O.
Great cocktails even though I am a beer drinker loved the beer wife loved the cocktails
L. M.
Funky wee place with different alcohol types than the usual in the area. Did get lost on the way out the toilets due to the mass art work on doors and walls. Great atmosphere though and friendly staff.
S. P.
Great for beer and burgers, the place has great character and music. Good for lunch or a stop by fors drinks and a bite in the evening. And if you need help with what to try on the menu, the staff are very friendly and helpful.
A. R.
Great place to meet with friends and share a drink or two. Occasional live music is nice. Especially enjoyed the Paolo Nutini cover I saw once with a friend. Zombies are a must try!
J. C.
Being a man on the wrong side of thirty, I struggle to find a place I like to drown my sorrows. The Groty metal bars are on their way out and are stuck musically in 2001, and most coctail bars surroundings take pretension to an uncomfortable level. Now the bozy cow is my ideal comfort zone. Interior reminds me of the primal scream album "evil heat" which was a fantastic start. They had guardians of the galaxy in the telly box, another rare treat and to cap it off the cocktails are spot on. First visit, my wife and I hammered through a comfortable portion of the coctail list. My self favouring the watermelon moo tai, splended, and the wife torn between thier version of the bloody Mary and the moobery muffin. Bar staff were epic. Friendly, charismatic and can whip up a mean cocktail . Even got a new metal band to listen too from spying the bar man's t shirt. The music in here sets the mood for an old timer like my self. Walked into a bit of Steve Winwood, nice... real nice and was serenaded with other classic such Toto, lulu, Mr Mr. Absolutely delighted as my other half and I can't stand each other's music, as she likes that mumble nonsense. But here, this was something we both could enjoy.
We returned with four friends this Sunday, and once again plowed through the coctail list with zero regard for our liver's or of our impeding work the next again day. A riotous time had. Even a cheeky dance to Cher. Tremendous. Everyone singing the praises of the establishment and the bar staff. Another added bonus is, I'd say we were the oldest people there by 10 years and didn't even notice, with my graying mane, I feel more aware of my age as I'm out and about. Not here. You can full embellish your Peter Pan syndrome to it's full extent.
Think it's pretty obvious I love this place, and if you don't too? What's wrong with you?
Keep up the exceptional work.
k. f.
Me and my boyfriend went twice over the weekend. The staff were very kind, shout out to Jake for helping us where to go next for a good night out and mixing us some lush cocktails after asking about out drink preferences
E. G.
Casual, friendly and fun beverages. Mainly high stool seating. Chilly under air conditioner at window. Only one vegan option on main menu but good.
K. Q.
Really good burgers in a casual setting. Amy, our server, was really friendly and laid back. The food came quickly and there was great live music from about 6pm
S. J.
Lovely food, good selection of beers and cocktails
P. H.
Quirky underground pub with loud music. House Ale was served cold a resembled lager. Cheeseburger little flavour and not served with fries. On the plus side the service was friendly.
N. R.
Good place for a late night drink. Interesting looking place seemingly filled with locals. We didn’t try any food but beer list was awesome, had a white ale from Iceland!
T. M.
I really want to give this place five stars but it takes me about 10 days to get up and down the bloody stairs. Not disabled friendly is what I'm saying. Great dirty food though.
M. K.
Bar is a typical pub style, nice place to sit and people watch when weather permits
P. A.
Ran out of milkshakes was a disappointment. Cramped table for a prebooked group. Food was OK
S. H.
Amazing little find, awesome vegan food and quality cocktails. Visiting is a must 😁
K. H.
Cool decor, great burgers and a fantastic selection of drinks means The Boozy Cow is orders of magnitude better than the previous establishment in this location. I will definitely be returning to sample more from their menu.
M. O.
Burger 12.95 , fries another 5 quid. Food on expensive side. Staff friendly and helpful but messed up with our bill and needed to amend it at the end
K. J.
Delicious food and cool atmosphere. Deep fried Mars bars were unbelievable
M. B.
I had the Dirty BBQ pulled beef burger which was the best burger I have ever had in UK. Very stylish place with friendly and helpful staff... aaaand great music!
T. Y.
Great cocktails, very knowledgeable bar staff
D. M.
Really unusual, unique cocktails. Unfortunately, we went in at a busy time and did feel slightly we were getting in the way as we had to move around a few times as people had reserved tables.
F. O.
The staff is nice, the drinks are dope and the food.. holy... effin... cow... that was soooo goood! even tho we we're 8 in total and had to give 10% extra for service I was glad to do it! Even tipped extra afterwards! Bonus star for the atmosphere and the constant flow of marvel-flicks, loved it!
11/10 from this Swede! Just go there and be amazed!
И. Т.
The food was amazing, staff was approaching and friendly.
V. B.
Good food but make sure if you don't like spicy or hot food that you don't order fries. They have a hot/spicy powder on them and that's the plane ones and the milkshakes are great.
S. W.
Excellent food and great gluten free options
B.
Fantastic burger place with that alternative vibe, graffitis on the walls, modern music, food served on trays and soft drinks in tin cans. The battered pickles are a must try! Overall the prices could be a bit cheaper for what you get so that's why no perfect score.
G. T.
Very good food, with big portions. Quirky decor, and decent music, but not too loud. Worth a visit for a quick bite.
L. M.
Top place, great spot for fireworks, classy atittude (they helped me charge my ph to reconnect with my other party as we got separated by the massive crowds). Lush cocktails (my fav pink angel) and a legend DJ, a young man by the name of Christopher. Thank you Boozy Cow you saved my Hogmanay.
k. h.
Fantastic food with a great atmosphere. If ordering chips maybe go one between two people. The portions are pretty big for just one person.
S. A.
Excellent cocktails and service. Highly recommend
G.
Nice place. The food is great but a big minus for not having draught beer or ale but only cans - which are a little pricey. Good music!
E. C.
Best lager I've tasted cold town lager in a long while.great service thanks marc
J.
Great staff, great friendly and non fussed service, varied selection for all drinkers. Settled on harviestoun old engine oil(super slick) and makers. Couldn't rate the service and staff any higher. Keep it up :-)
C.
Exemplary service and could not fault the place if I tried, the modern cozy vibe makes for a lovely watering hole which also serves some mean burgers to boot. An essential stop if you want to experience the city in all its glory
R. F.
Food and drink were lovely. Friendly staff and quick service
K. R.
Great place for burgers, hot dogs etc. Dodd great, staff freindly and helpful. Craft beer has a good selection and ice cold glasses was a great idea. Atmosphere was fantastic. Def be back
W. M.
Lovely wee cocktail bar just off Princess Street. Staff really pleasant and booze really tasty. Food looked great but didn't have time to stay and try some.
M. j.
Great time. Good food. They made me a cocktail not on the menu and it was fab! (ask them for a strawberry sour.)
o.
Good food and service, nice staff. Will definitely visit again!
D. C.
We popped in for drinks and the choice was great although i was slightly gagging at one of the ingredients put into the Painkiller but it was superb...like the booziest Pina Colada ever 👍👌
C. M.
Sadtimes, this restaurant was the best in town but the bother has taken over and no more charity work (all for profit), the food shows. Service is fantastic though! Hope the staff try and save it
S. M.
had a great night and will be back on our next visit xx
L. D.
Bex was the bomb 💜 so professionally meant to be in this place 😍 love everything about her and the establishment xxx and she wouldn't take a drink from us.
Cheers Bex xxxx
j. t.
Food is amazing if you like meat cooked well this is the place to go. Also very clean and covid conscientious as well as polite and friendly.
G. C.
The staff were incredibly friendly, my friend and I had a lovely wee chat with a good few of the bartenders. Just generally had a really nice time there, as brief as it was.
J. C.
Deer burger was incredible, and the live music was an amazing touch. Great venue, if I lived here I'd definitely come back regularly. Cheers from Canada!
N. M.
Great venue with friendly staff 👍
I. B.
Lovely done up really modern.staff friendly.only one draft larger and heavy but there are plenty of differant beers and they do a lot of cocktails .But I think it is for the young and party people .
D. C.
Graffiti decor, classic rock song soundtrack and really good quality burgers. Staff were sociable attentive and very welcoming.
A. D.
Really cool restaurant! Staff were really friendly and helpful.
Food was excellent and really interesting options, wanted to try about 5 or 6 of the options!! Would definately recommend!!
D. P.
They place has been done out really well. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and really good cocktails. Food looked great but was a little disappointing
L. B.
Nice concept where profits go to charity. Friendly staff, unique and tasty cocktails and the food looked great too! Grungy, unique decor with lots of graffiti. Great place for a date!
R. K.
Cool spot for food and cocktails after an afternoon of shopping on George St.

Really like it here, the cocktails are great and they have some yummy items on the food menu!
N. M.
Good burgers, The skinnies/fries were very spicy. The beer menu wasn't that well annotated but I managed to find a couple of good ones.
P. K.
Great place with great atmosphere with delicious food (burgers and those cheese skinnies fries) and amazing range of cocktails! Either for food or drinks(sometimes with live music), this place is perfect!
J. R.
Best burger I've had, hands down. Drinks were good, food was awesome, marvel films on the tvs and awesome songs on the play list, couldn't fault it.

Great prices, great atmosphere and amazing food! Definitely get more than your money's worth. Will definitely be returning next time I'm in Edinburgh!
S. B.
Very trendy, nice restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh.
The food, despite the lovely presentation was just mediocre.
Drinks were made nicely.
C. S.
An interesting restaurant. Good (if unusual) decor and good burgers, although eating off a shared tray can be tricky. Plates would have been good.
A. W.
Awesome food as usual with happy friendly service.
R. P.
5/5, thoroughly enjoyed celebrating my birthday here with my daughter. The onion rings were huge and delicious. I will most definitely be coming back
l. q.
Very good drinks, tasty food and friendly staff
D. C.
Delicous cocktails. Very young crowd, not really my thing but the staff were friendly and the owners have clearly put a lot of thought and effort in to making the place look the part.
M. C.
They've taken allot of care with the food. The burgers are delicious, good selection of beer, quite a loud pub vibe if your just wanting a quite one, but, the burger will be worth it.
B. H.
Always amazing food and drinks! Thank you!
T. M.
Quirky vibe and brilliant food and cocktails. Worth a visit

I come here for the painkiller! One of the best cocktails! Food is great and has a good atmosphere, one of Edinburgh hotspots to try ❤️
R. G.
The best bar I went to on my trip through the UK last December. Great drinks, great atmosphere, and live music. Wish I had found it sooner

L. V. G.
The drinks and food are very good, the staff is super friendly, the only reason why I not giving more stars is because when I was there it smelled between pee and vomit all the time... but it might have been only that night.
P. M.
Nice pub bit pricey but great
R. G.
For alternative rock lovers. Live music was out of this world, not to mention responsive staff, lovely food, great service and biggest cubes of ice I've ever seen. Just a one please.
M. N.
Will recommend this place to anyone that wants something really greasy to eat! :) Great cocktails aswell! Well worth a visit!

Great range of cocktails. There are discounts on some of the cocktails during the week so ask the bar staff or check the noticeboard behind the bar for the latest deals.

A lovely uniquely quirky pub in the heart of Edinburgh
M. F.
Nice pub with quite big selection of can beers. Nice atmosphere and helpful staff. Definitely worth visit for a night out.
R. F.
Not a huge selection, so you should definitely be in the mood for a burger if you're eating here, but I did enjoy what I ordered.
The milkshakes are fantastic!
A. S.
We had a cheeseburger and a vegetarian portobello burger. Both delicious. 100% of the profits gets donated back into local charities. Check the boozy cow foundation.
B. M.
Good selection of cocktails but if you are looking for a beer it only has 3 options. Its quite dark but quite a cool place to go before dinner.
C. C.
Good burgers, but the fries between two are enough. Halloumi fries are not enough between two. Beers quite dear but it is a capital city
M. S.
Great Cocktails 🍸 👌

Cocktails are tasty with interesting flavour combinations, but a bit on the pricey side (around £8 average, I'd say) for the amount you get.

Burgers are good but a little dry for my personal taste. Arrived just after 12:30 on a Thursday afternoon and service was very slow which is the last thing you want at lunchtime
