Reviews of The Golf Tavern
j.
This place has a nice open space. Bit of an odd vibe - also the standard “630pm turn the music up” happens which is quite frustrating if you want to have conversations.
The toilets are downstairs and a bit of a hike - they’re the old style Edinburgh underground bathrooms but we’re kept very clean - tap water for washing hands was freezing.
Not really clear on how the food ordering worked but the menu was compact and varied. The double cheese burger was yum and the truffle fries were great - bit of a wait for food but staff very nice and friendly.

Our golf group stopped in for munch and 30 or so holes of golf across the street on a recent trip to The Open Championship. The meal was WONDERFUL, the beer was ide cold and nobody complained about the Whiskey or the Gin so that speaks volumes. The golf across the street was entertaining and definitely added to it being a memorable stop for all. Well worth the effort to get there- ENJOY!

Played 9 holes on a Sunday early afternoon. Imogen is a splendid bartender. Welcomed us warmly and set us up perfectly. Brought pints out on the course and had a delicious lunch after our round. Thanks to our wonderful host at this historic club for a tasty and fun experience.

Reasonably priced drinks, plenty of space inside, and a good atmosphere. Student discount is available on certain drinks. I also think the music they play is much better than in most pubs. They often have sports playing on the big screen, which I am not a fan of since it attracts loud spectators at certain times, but I can hardly complain considering it's clearly a sports bar. The toilets are considerably nicer than other pubs in the area, although I did once encounter a shortage of hand soap.

We had booked the upstairs of the Golf Tavern for our wedding 'breakfast' (post ceremony meal) in June 2019. We had the best experience from initially organising to the party on the day. The staff were attentive, jolly and very understanding. The process of planning and organising was so easy. Manager was always in touch and very keen to get things perfect for us. We were able to go in on an afternoon and layout the tables in the way we preferred. Staff constantly came up with ideas and were actively interested in participating in making our big day perfect. On the day the room looked even more beautiful than we planned. The bar upstairs was stocked with our favourite drinks and staff were joyous, fun and had great banter. They trouble-shot any issues incredibly quickly and made everything very smooth throughout the day. I honestly could not praise the staff more - they are amazing. The meal itself was so delicious and not one of my wedding party had a single complaint. Food options were carefully thought out with huge portions and amazing presentation. We were well fed, well looked after and had a lot of banter.
Would HIGHLY recommend the Golf Tavern for functions and even everyday meals. We knew to pick this as a venue because we enjoy the atmosphere, the food and the staff's attitude on previous occasions. The Tavern is a gem in the middle of Edinburgh which is underrated and it consistently provides high quality food and service. Thank you to them for creating the most perfect wedding meal and atmosphere on our big day!

We went through for the Doodle a Dog event and my son and our 2 dogs had a great time. The staff were so friendly, warm and helpful and so friendly towards all the dogs that came in and that created such a fun and welcoming atmosphere. The food for us humans was great and the samples for the dogs were devoured quickly! Our border collie loved the doggie beer 😃 the caricatures done on the day were fabulous and ours will soon take pride of place in our living room!
We will be back on our next trip through to Edinburgh and I can thourghly recommend this place to all.

Pleasant place by Bruntsfield Links. I visited on the Halloween day finding spiders and their web around the beer taps!
H. P.
Great pub not been in for a few years but still has a friendly atmosphere about the place
T. P.
Great for a quick drink. Simple, laid back, no frills approach and the drinks aren't bad either. There's also plenty of choice which always helps!!
G. T.
A classic ancient pub, my Edinburgh University intermural rugby team sponsor and post match celebration/commiseration location of choice back in the mid-90's!
Changed a good bit since then inside, but done up nice with booths and TVs for sports. Stunning location with great views of the Bruntsfield Links, Meadows, Arthur's Seat and The Crags from the wee beer garden at the front.
Only let down by the complete lack of draught real ale (which the barman tells me is off for the time being until they can arrange a better supplier). You'll get Innis and Gunn Session IPA on keg though, which is a decent wee beer.
F.
Appreciate we arrived just as huge party was departing and obviously staff were a bit jaded from the experience. Good that we were able to order what was left food wise.
R. B.
We didn't drink or eat there but we got a friendly welcome when we went to collect clubs for the pitch and putt outside. It all seemed very relaxed and old fashioned.
C. G.
There has been a pub on this site since the game of golf was first played. There is a dispute as to whether Bruntsfield or Leith Links was the first golf course in the World but the Golf Tavern is surely the first 19th hole. Returning to the pub, it has a well stocked bar with a good wine, spirit and beer selection although the décor has changed over the years it is still traditional. It has an excellent location overlooking the Links and the Meadows and should perhaps be busier.
M. R.
I was the only one there when I went in, very cool hehe. Lovely place, good staff. Always a good pint.
J. K.
Nice pub, reasonable prices for an Edinburgh pub in that area and nice bar staff
A.
Great little pub on the edge of bruntsfield links!
Despite not having the initial dish I ordered, I settled for the half portion of fish and chips, which was a really delicious alternative! Every element of the dish tasted great, especially the chips! The pub was very student friendly offering a 30% discount on all main sized dishes. The atmosphere was great and so was the service!
There wasn't much choice for vegans, however the staff were very accomodating and altered some of the vegetarians dishes to make them vegan friendly.
E. G.
This place is fabulous! Great drink selection and golf across the street! Well, a pitch and put with people laying on the grass in front of you.Try not to hit them! But yummy drinks and food, and Imogen was an absolute doll!
C. M.
Super fun energy, great drink selection and all the bar staff are so lovely and accommodating
S. N.
Nice and comfortable wee pub ,food looked very nice as did the bar staff , well stocked bar , function suite upstairs ,also has outside seating, a fiver for the Guiness was a bit steep but tasted great , situated next to the Bruntsfield links . Definatley worth checking out .
S.
Like this great old bar. Very friendly staff and it's a very local feel for me, its round the corner from our home. Fabulous!
S. E. E.
Professional, friendly and warm staff. Great location and always a vibrant atmosphere. Couldn't ask for more! We love coming here!
P. P.
Lovely pub. Great atmosphere and the food is killer
D. G.
Dropped in last weekend for a drink or two and a bite to eat with my Irish cousin, who was looking for an Irish coffee all weekend, but couldn't find one!
Anyway, the Italian and English girls behind the bar REALLY wanted to make him one, and I almost ran over to the shop to get some double cream as they'd ran out! 😂
Apart from that, it was a funny, brilliant 2-3 hours spent in The Golf Tavern, the staff funny and attentive, keeping us amused for our visit there.
I highly recommend this pub. The food is good, as is the drink, and the service exceptional. I'll probably drop in over the weekend for a drink and a bit of banter...
Still a fantastic pub to relax in after my initial review. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the Meadows area.
V.
Great service, both a dog and child friendly pub. Our bartender was really lovely and sweet and the drinks were very affordable (student discount with drinks under 4 pounds).
If outdoors too very nice views of the meadows and Arthur's Seat.
M. B.
Staff were happy to amend menu for gluten free option.
J. A. B. F.
One of the best pubs in town. Wide variety of draughts and nice food everything with a 20% student discount (Sun-Thurs). They have golf clubs to hire for £5 that can be used at the public golf course in Bruntsfield.
E. R.
Tasty bar lunch. Wide range of drinks available. Service was brisk and friendly. It was fine when we went in but the bar was getting very busy for football in the afternoon.
s. l.
Nice bar. Shame they run out of estrella after buying one pint. Staff all friendly.
N. (.
Staying in Edinburgh, and like golf, take time out to visit you will not be disappointed. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere
N. H.
Good pub for the food all of you are in to it. Lots of tvs so never at of sight.
N. B.
Great beers, nice food and excellent staff. Great place to watch Sport.
A. F.
A great location and a lively pub just off of the meadows. Can get very crowded if a game of football is on but generally a good atmosphere
F. D.
Great little pub with a nice function room
T. G.
Bar staff were amazing, I sat outside and was initially served by girl with blue hair, she was so chilled and made me feel relaxed from the get go, a guy with an amazing tattoo brought my pint (wise for 19 year old haha) full of chat and then there was the girl from Italy, her and her sister have an Irish spirit! Would definitely go again! Well done Gold Tavern, you staff speaks volumes !
C. M.
Great sports bar. Nice atmosphere
R. W.
Went here one Saturday early in the afternoon for a pre booked meal. On arrival the bar staff/waitress apologised for the delays we were going to encounter as she was the only staff member working other than kitchen staff. We were seated and after a not unreasonable time our order was taken so no delays encountered yet.
The bar is very sport orientated so there are multiple screens for viewing but to keep the ambience of the place good the sound was off. In my particular seat I was head on to a screen showing Wolves v Brentford live, as a Wolves fan this was good 😁.
Food arrived in a reasonable time and drinks replenished so still no delays encountered the lone staff member was doing a cracking job and the place was getting quite busy now with revellers starting their weekend drinking marathons. Food was excellent, way better than I expected and not expensive, this is student country so prices are kept quite low. Menu was a little limited at lunch time but evening menu's look quite varied so check what's available before if you're booking in advance I would suggest as the website wasn't too clear on this.
Food cleared up and bill paid all in reasonable time so still no delays experienced, my only compliant was Wolves lost 0-2, nearly ruined my meal but not quite.
The pub is fine, not fantastic but certainly not awful either, it's very welcoming and had a nice ambience, outside opposite is wide open parkland with Arthur's Seat in the distance, pleasant experience overall I'd certainly do it again, without the Wolves losing bit of course.
Y. P.
Drinks on point.
Food get those bbq ribs amazing!!!
T. W.
I came in on Tuesday night and I had the pleasure of being served by Cammie, Jack, Alex and Bobby. 10/10 service I highly recommend the Golf Tavern!
M. L.
Great staff, great venue, quick service. well organised for reservations and although we just turned up they went out of their way to get us seated. Great night thank you
A.
Great selection of beers, nice staff and when the gravy came in a massive jug. What's not to like??
O. A.
Nice atmosphere with friendly staff, live music always available. Facilities were nice too however the décor was slightly off and seemed fairly old on the first floor which could easily be replaced to make the place better for game nights.
W. P.
Lively old pub
Quiet greens, dark at midnight
Communing with friends
n.
Was happy to find out after we'd ordered we get a generous 20% student discount. Food was good (not amazing) but worth the price.
M. M.
Had the upstairs booked out. Was the perfect place. Great barman, good buffet
I. L.
Hey guys, beautiful service. Had a great evening, staff were great always making sure we were okay and let us move to the benches outside (when it safe to do so). Never got their names, but the Italian girl & the Latvian guy were superstars. Will be back x
R. M.
Lovely place with a relaxed atmosphere, staff very friendly and attentive. Only reason we're not giving 5 stars is because our burgers were very slightly overdone for our liking. Will definitely be back though :)
O. O.
Really nice and simple pub with some Scottish specialties.
P. H.
Food and service is good...Had the Scottish steak burger with haggis and black pudding added on, was delicious....will visit again..
S. G.
Great drinks selection, serves door til late. Big plus they have the NFL on on Sunday evenings ... MASSIVE fan of this. Team mates and I love coming here.
B. K. C.
Went for beers followed by Pitch&Pot, which was a great opportunity to experience the park on a sunny Saturday. Great service and friendly staff.
A. M.
Very traditional pub, sport was on tv and live music was on the little stage.
I went with few team members for drinks after training. Very tasty nachos and a good variety of beers. More food option available. Perfect for groups or even for a chilling out drink. It has seat outside weather permitting.
L. S.
I had forgotten this place existed having not been there since I was a student. Seems much brighter and fresher now, but still with the same charm! It's a lovely roomy traditional bar with decent selection of pub grub. Lots of TVs so a good venue for watching rugby (and probably other sports too!)
A. N.
I loved my night at the Golf. Sara was extremely welcoming and enthusiastic.
S. W.
Bar maid went out of her way to change barrels twice in one round. Excellent.
A. A.
A very good pub and it's very friendly staff
n. e.
Got served by a very lovely waiter named Jack and had an absolutely wonderful time
G. M.
Came here on a walking tour for the Haggis bonbons. They were a nice wee treat. The ales are reasonably priced for Edinburgh and the cocktails well made.
A. M.
Great staff, friendly vibe and good grub
J. H.
I like this bar a lot, I come here semi-frequently due to its location mainly. It has a bustling but cosy atmosphere. The drinks are fairly reasonably priced. Some of the seating isn't very comfortable, high stools etc. But the bar as a whole works very well, good outside seating and more than adequate pub grub. It is a very good venue to rent out for parties, they will give you upstairs space and can do the catering as well, I believe.
A. W.
Interesting pub. Can hire golf clubs for £5 per person and play a chip and put with 36 holes. Nice selection of pub grub. Little bit pricey. £6 for nachos. £10 for burger. Good selection of cocktails. Plays all the football matches. Takes card. Really nice toilets Cocktails were £6 tennants was £4 which is high. Really friendly staff. Lots of booths and very spacious inside for large parties.
C. S.
A lovely historic pub with a cozy atmosphere. The service is excellent and the food delicous. Prices are decent and they do have student deals that change periodically. The pub is dog friendly but can get very crowded during sporting events,
C. L.
Golf Tavern is a great two-story Pub with very nice and professional service, have a large selection of alcohol, I really recommend it to everyone! The dishes they make look and taste really great, Greetings to the Chefs Good job to keep up! 🔥🍻
J. D.
Drinks are great and the staff were really friendly. Gave a great recommendation on a Scotch that I had yet to try. The food is mediocre for pub food.
£5 to rent a wedge, putter and a ball to play on Bruntsfield Links. Just ask the bartender and they'll set you up.
H. N.
The is a great place if you want to have a relaxed drink. I've been here many times, and always found the staff friendly and they serve an extensive range of fruity ciders which I can't get enough of! I've also rented the top room free of charge for my birthday - we had plenty of room and the bar to ourselves!
A. F.
What a find! I was here for a long weekend staying very close to this place. We started and ended our nights here, lovely atmosphere, decent selection of drinks and had breakfast here too, which was really really good. Staff spot on all round great pub
P. M.
The Staff are amazing the girl with the blonde hair served us she was fantastic The atmosphere was great evening for an older person like myself definitely be back soon
P. M.
Super pub meals and great staff.
Very busy and a great vibe.
S. M. L. D.
Looks to be a very old pub and retains more than a little of its old world character- although clearly changes have been made to modernise it and make it accessible. My first visit. Well staffed. Footie on the telly. Lots of reserved tables for food. Modern loos are a bit of a trek downstairs- but needs must I suppose. Lady did arrive in a wheelchair after we did and her passage seemed a challenge-but she made it through. I suppose without bulldozing the place and starting again that's as good as it's going to get. Id happily go back.
P. G.
Decent pub with a reasonable selection on draft, albeit can take a while to get served. Very busy at times and naturally a big student presence. Steak burgers are nice and cooked properly.
J. U.
Great place for food, golf and beer!
A. M.
First impression: Old gadgies at the bar talking utter Betty swallocks and swearing every few words was surprising tbh and very off-putting but they're probably keeping the business going.
Positives: Nice looking bar though, friendly staff and food looks good prices reasonable.
N. S.
Can’t fault the golf tavern - 10/10 service from Rosie throughout the evening - will definitely be back 🤞🏻
P. A.
Great service. Amazing Scottish Whiskey.
J. G.
Came in on a Tuesday night, fantastic service from Jack and Alex. Great place
A. M.
the golf tavern has recently been refurbished and looks really good. since it has reopened i have only eaten there once and was disappointed in the tiny, crispy pizza i was served and charged £10 for. the server however was good at bringing some extra chips to help the hunger and said it was being taken off the menu. maybe things have got better.
D. B.
Nice atmosphere. A little bit crowded and unfortunately the guest were very loud.
K. H.
It's a decent enough pub, although there are far better options nearby. Drinks could be a little cheaper given the selection and location, although there are plenty of screens to watch football on.
It just seems to not entirely be sure of what it wants to be. Standard boozer or whimsical hipster joint. Sadly it falls between both camps and suffers for it.
F. H.
Great place for a bite to eat or drink. Prices for drinks are reasonable for Edinburgh and food prices are good. Usually busy for sporting events but always a good atmosphere. During the longer and warmer months its nice to sit outside and people watch and catch a view of the Meadows.
N. T.
Real pub in good location!
G. B.
Came in for lunch on 10/05/2019. Had soup (homemade tomato and basil) and half a sandwich (smoked bacon with caramelized onion and applewood cheddar). Both were banging and even the garnish was top. Some rocket with vinaigrette and cherry tomatoes. I expect it all to be very, very good if this is anything to go by.
B.
Really good atmosphere, good range of drafts aswell
A. F.
Nice pub, can be quite crowded at times, especially with students on Quiz nights. Beer selection is good and the pricing is decent enough. Last time the upstairs seemed to be closed even though downstairs was packed.
M. C.
My favourite local in Edinburgh has a up-beat but not imposing vibe for a favourite among sports fans. But don't be fooled when an important football game is on, its standing room only. It has everything you need in a good pub; cheap eats - tick, live music - on Friday nights, a pub quiz and of course beer! They have rotating guest cask ales, as well as a good variety of gin, whisky and wine. A nice way to spend an afternoon in summer is to hire a putting wedge and play on Scotland's oldest short-hole golf course, with their pint, pitch and a put deal for five pounds.
And sometimes I just like to enjoy my beer inside and look up on the ceiling and the walks at the interesting decor.
J. M.
Good beer selection, good atmosphere and dog friendly! The last Friday I was in there was live music which I'd usually consider a positive thing however it was so unnecessarily loud we had to leave for the dog.
J. K.
Nice bar tucked away in a nice part of town. A good selection of drinks and friendly service, all overlooking the Bruntsfield Links. Nice to sit outside on a summers day and watch people playing mini golf (or partake of a round yourself). Slightly tucked away, but none the worse for it.
J. B.
Went for a work Christmas meal, it was fine I felt catered for as a vegetarian and the atmosphere at lunchtime was friendly. Odd that they chose to keep the sports news channel on its many screens, but I guess it's a sport's bar at heart.
j. l.
This is a fantastic, historic pub that we discovered on Karly’s walking food and drink tour ‘ A Wee Taste of Edinburgh’. We sampled the haggis bon bons which were to die for! The two girls that were serving us were super friendly and accommodating. A definite must!
K.
The Golf Tavern is a long established and pleasant enough pub. It was once a great place to eat and still serves average or better pub grub at average or worse prices. A good selection of beers. Named the Golf Tavern by Bruntsfield Links which was the original home of the Bruntsfield Golf Club now moved out beyond Davidson's Mains on the West side of Edinburgh. You can still play pitch and putt on the Links with clubs and balls available from the Tavern.
I. F.
I love this place. I spend a lot of time playing pitch and putt on Bruntsfield Links and the Tavern is in the perfect location for a pint mid round or at the end. The food is also very decent and the beer selection keeps me on my toes. I recommend the peri peri chips, onion rings and bbq sandwich.
An added bonus is that it has plenty of screens for sports, but only plays the sound for big games which makes it a great place to bring friends and family. It is a great local.
A. B.
Brilliant ancient pub. Menu is anything but ancient great selection of pub grub. Spicy bean burger and White bait were a particular favorite. Good cheap Student pint deals.
B. H.
Good pub with a good selection of beers on tap at a reasonable price. Serves excellent food. Perfect for students. I believe they also hire out golf clubs for the golf course outside.
c.
Really nice vibes and friendly bar staff, hosted a successfully private function and the staff were accomodating and profressional. Shame it's now owned by G1, but still a nice hang out even if there's a slight guilt with supporting a horrible employer and company
R. D.
Another good bar for watching rugby in. There are several large screens around the pub and if you get there early you may just get one of the large sofas to watch the games on. Good pub food on offer as well.
É. G.
Really nice pub, great decorations, wonderful service and good prices.
From sunday to wednesday you can buy a membership card (£ 5) and have access to a pint of Carling for £2 (one cider as well)
Monday night : movie night (free)
Really appreciate this pub.
s. s.
Nice cheap golf clubs and very good pitch and put. Can play for as long as you want don't have to pay anything if you have your own club and then good beer and sides to eat in the bar after a nice game is fantastic
P. M.
Great bar. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere all round. Nice beer to choose from and decent spirit collection too.
N. J.
I was there for a private party for a group of older people. The food - haggis, neeps and tatties - was great, as was the soup and the cranachan dessert. The young staff were very cheery and helpful. Great lunch!
P. J.
A down to earth kind of place, excellent to chill out with mates and watch a football game. Also great to meet and socialise with other students from different backgrounds. Very welcoming place, would fully recommend!
L. D.
This is a really nice bar. Lovely and knowledgeable staff. One issue is that it is often busy, but I guess that only speaks to how popular the pub is!
S. A.
Great food , huge portions and amazing quality.
Staff is very friendly..
Great atmosphere.
H. D.
Always a great time at this pub, good food and brilliant atmosphere.
C. M.
Come here often with my friends, great atmosphere, student discount and just a great place to go for a chilled night out. They also do pub quizzes and the food is pretty good too!
K. D.
Fab hospitality! The crew that works here was great had great suggestions and it was a lovely spot to hang out for a spell. If you have a child under the age of eighteen, be sure to go before 2000 (8pm) as it is a pub.
L. E.
Would be 5 stars but I don't like the TV's. ..unless it's for a major sporting event, but they are on all the time even if it's just pundits after a match or generic sport that no one is watching.....switch it off until the Wimbledon final or Liverpool derby is on or whatever. Such a shame because big matches shown here make for a great atmosphere and at other times it could be a cosy local if they'd give the screens a rest!
a. w.
Favourite pub in Edinburgh. Fresh pints, student discount and ace staff. Show all important sport events, very comfortable and great food too!
T. R.
Just had a lovely meal here, fish was amazing kids loved the sausage and chips, the perfect size for them, left wanting more, staff very friendly and attentive definitely be back next time were in burntisland.
H. A.
Went for a pub quiz and it was really good. The drinks were standard and fairly cheap although we were on the upper floor which didn't have all the same drinks as the floor below
R. O.
Great little place, food is lovely and drinks are at good prices came across this place on aweetasteofedinburgh tour created by Karly (amazing tour guide) and have been back a few times since :) staff are very friendly and there are plenty of seats
A. C.
Relaxed atmosphere for friends or if you want a lonely pint while watching sports. Have a good selection of beers, with a few decent ones on tap including the local brew.
W. K.
Great place with a great atmosphere. Food is pretty good, like an 8/10. ❤️
P. A. H.
Gorgeous little pub right on Bruntsfield Links. Outside seating. Good selection of beers and a nice menu. Friendly staff. And you can rent clubs to play the Links. 👍
i. m.
Fav pub in edinburgh
R. H.
The Golf Tavern has two floors serving a good selection of draught beers with a number of guest cask slots alongside the usual suspects. The food menu is upscaled pub food, with racks of ribs, pulled pork nachos, burgers and pizzas but well executed and keenly priced. The atmosphere is good and relaxed, it makes for a nice place to spend Sunday afternoon unwinding followed by hiring golf clubs from the bat for a quick round on Bruntsfield Links, or watching some sports on the various big screen TV's dotted around the bar.
J. P.
Old Edinburgh institution that preserves the spirit of the ancient golf links that places Bruntsfield as one of the oldest golf courses in the world. Decent food and good beers coupled with fine service make for a great day or night out.
K. G.
Unique pub in Scotland
R. C.
Nice little tavern that feels like it has some history to it. You can pay to pitch and putt then stop back in for a pint or two. Also has a decently sized projector screen to watch any sports.
J. M.
Cheap pints and a good place to watch the game when they have em on!
P. D.
Nice enough, but if you're over 20 you'll be out of place!
J. R.
Great staff, really friendly and great food. My Uni society use this place for socials for the last couple of years, and they're always very accommodating!
A. L.
It's a cheap and cheerful place, great bar, very British style. There rent golf clubs for £5, with 2 balls (the bar is just in front of the meadows where is possible to play.
S. v. (.
Golf Tavern? You may ask.. Well, they rent out golf clubs/balls for use on the adjacent course. There's probably plenty of history to it, but that sums up the name for now.
Despite the odd golf affiliation, there's not a whole lot more golf-themed about this place. Presumably a starting point for tons of enthusiastic pub-golfers, I didn't see anyone else wearing capvisors or chequered jumpers the whole time I was there.
They have a great range of craft beers and ales that seems to change every time I go in. As well as the usual array of dirt cheap to crazy expensive spirit and mixer combos. Add in some quality local live music and you're in for a good mix!
C. W.
Always a great crowd, a decent variety of beers. and a good old-fashioned pub menu. Love watching football on the big screen!
L. A.
Good pub grub, and caters to all dietary requirements. Sports also shown on many TVs, and function room upstairs.
J. F.
Always good, often very busy. Pub quiz on Wednesdays, 30% student discount on mains certain nights. Board games behind bar. Sport on tvs
M. L.
Live music, cheap drinks, great service all made for a fantastic Saturday night. Will certainly be back!
M. J.
Great bar. Lovely interior, good selection of drinks, and nicely tucked away on the links. Well worth a visit.
B. G.

Fun fact. This is the oldest golf clubhouse in the world. It was first used by Bruntsfield Links GS in 1852. (They moved to Barnton). Still used by Bruntsfield Short Hole Golf Club. It only became a pub in 1898. Before that it was two houses. The golf is free. Bring your own clubs or hire from pub.

(Original)
C'est le spot pour votre une bière évidemment mais surtout pour prendre des clubs de golf et aller faire une partie sur le terrain en face. C'est bon enfant et très sympa! Tout comme le service d'ailleurs !
