We visited on Saturday. It’s quite a small place but it had a great atmosphere. They have a great selection of beers and the bar staff were really friendly too. There is often live music in the bar, this Saturday there was a fella singing and playing guitar which was great. We went back a few days later too see some local folk music too. Great place to stop near the train station.

Lovely local pub opposite the Waverley station and was a walking distance (less than a minute from my hotel). Greeted by Lacho - a lovely bartender, who welcomed me into his pub and made my visit in the pub entertaining with one of his locals talking to me as I was a solo traveller. Definitely worth the visit weather you’re waiting for your train or if you are catching up with friends with live entertainment

Stumbled in here on a Monday afternoon to kill time. Hit the jackpot with what appeared to be an impromptu music session going on. Great pint of Guinness and reasonably priced too. Spirits served at 35ml. Brilliant vibe and a snug wee pub.

Great pub! Filled with locals right in the center of the city. There were a group of people playing traditional folk music, great atmosphere with very friendly staff. The space is small and thus helps to the atmosphere.

Fantastic food, my first fish and chips in the UK and it was so good that I came back the next day to get my first Haggis Neeps and Tatties in Scotland! Both were delicious. beer was very good as was the Cullen Skink. Wonderful service, friendly staff; I can't recommend this place highly enough. The lunch special 3 course meal is a great deal!

Great wee pub. Staff are helpful and very friendly. Price of drinks is reasonable. Gents toilet are downstairs , not good if you can not get down or up if your disabled. The ladies toilet is upstairs beside the main bar. Can be busy at peak times of the day.

This a cracking little pub just along from Waverly station. Very good selection of beers and spirits although doesn't serve food. This is the type of place for a right good few drinks if you have seen most of the sites and want to chill for a bit. It can be very busy and it's only a small bar so getting a seat and getting served is quite difficult. Also it is one of the cheapest pubs in Edinburgh. Well worth a visit to a great city

A small but lovely pub, you get to chat with the bar staff and you're on first name basis with them. Everyone who goes there chats amongst themselves. I've bought total stranger a drink because the people who drink there are so friendly. I love this pub.

Went in for one more pint before getting on the last train. It was a cosyish vibe and the staff didn't seem to mind my pal was on the verge. Fairly standard pub feel with some live acoustic music. Not bad.

I was there last weekend on a stag do and wanted some real pub food . I had the pork escalopes with black pudding mash and creamy mushroom sauce . For how simple a dish this wash it tasted fantastic . Really enjoyed the food and the beer was spot on too .

This is the kind of pub you want to land in while galavanting around Edinburgh. It's a proper pub with real people! Your best to be prepared to have banter with the locals who make the place and the barman (at the time of our trip anyway) although young was well fit for his role and a special thanks for the guidance to all the local late night hotspots for the after hour mischief. Cant recommend it enough!

It is easy to talk to the locals and with a little luck you will experience one of the many live performances by one or even several musicians. We were allowed to listen to several artists for hours and have felt very comfortable in this nice environment. Minus minus, the sanitary facilities are a bit overhaul. Man kommt leicht ins Gespräch mit den Einheimischen und mit etwas Glück erlebt man einen der zahlreichen Live-Auftritte einer oder sogar mehrerer Musiker. Wir durften gleich mehreren Künstlern über Stunden hinweg zuhören und haben uns in diesem netten Umfeld sehr wohl gefühlt. Kleiner Minuspunkt, die sanitären Einrichtungen sind etwas überholungsbedürftig. Alles in Allem hat sich der Besuch gelohnt.

Immediately in and drank my first pint of Scottish ale, a dream and unforgettable. With a bag of Salt & Vinigar Chips. From then on our regular pub. In the evening from 8 p.m. live music. The people are close, but there are nice encounters and it will be a dreamlike evening. I will miss it.
