Reviews of The Kings Arms
Best place for reasonably priced drinks we found. Good atmosphere and friendly locals. Limited choice of drinks but have everything you need.
Nice auld pub, friendly staff and a great pint !
Great pub with friendly staff.
Local pub with very good prices. But cash only, but well worth a visit if you fancy a regular local pub.
Good beer. Friendly staff.
Best cold pint " o" tennants ive ever had on a hot day, atmosphere, heaving with laughter, feelings off local happy pub, hooeing to go back soon, when im in town. Clean, and a real olde style public hoose.
I would like to address the comments made by"Shark Head" about this small, friendly local. There are five hand sanitizer in the bar area and one in the ladies loo. Can't comment on the gents, but I assume there will be one in there. Obviously, this person would rather drink in large cheap pubs, like Weather spoons where there is no atmosphere.
Brilliant old man's pub but too cold.
Wonderful staff and close to local shops. Overall a nice place to relax and have a quiet drink.
Nice little place for a pint (no food here). Clearly well-liked by the locals and not a particularly tourist-friendly joint. Everyone looked at us like we'd lost our way when we first arrived, but by the time we left, they bid us a fond farewell as if to say they'd see us again. If this place were in America, we'd say it has a dive-bar feel to it, which can be quite enjoyable if you've been sightseeing surrounded by tour groups all day and just want to cool down the way a local might.
Old bar, been going for years. Always get a cheaper beer and a chat with the locals, that of course I am one of them. 😄
Your typical boozer, rucked up at 10am and two old mates having a whisky and a pint. £3.80 for a pint of Tennant in city centre is superb!
Nice place. It doesn't feel young or vibrant, but nice people and good price.
Traditional Scottish pub with more senior crowd. Unfortunately it is cash-only though ATMs are available nearby. Very affordable drinks but not a great variety.
Great local bar. Much appreciated for fitting us in, in these difficult times.
Love the place. Trish is a treasure Courteney not so bad either. Staff are always welcoming. Need to give it a go either before your night on the town or on the way home from a long day at work.
A great time we all had after the theatre. Bar staff really friendly. But there was no ice for our drinks.
Best traditional pub in Edinburgh
Great wee boozer! So glad it has come through the current lockdown. Regular cheery barstaff and cheery regulars.
Cosy local with seats suitably spaced to cope with requirements. Good value too
Customers and staff lovely and friendly, made us feel so welcome
The Kings Arms is an inviting Scottish pub. Hosted by great bar staff. lovely pint of guinness. look forward to returning
Reasonably priced drinks. Staff very friendly. Cash only but cashpoint near by. Would visit again
Fantastic wee pub. I like to nip in for a couple of pints whenever I'm in the area 👍

The best price for drinks if your on a budget and a good atmosphere.

A nice wee local in the city, quite a find these days. Service good and reasonable prices.
Fantastic wee bar one of the last working man's pubs in Tollcross love it here
Old fashioned boozer. Fantastic as not a cushion or candle or child in sight
Just go and drink and have banter

Great night out well worth visiting beer excellent atmospheric and friendly
Nice wee pub, went for drinks before theatre.
Good night great atmosphere and great staff behind the bar.
Old school estate style pub. Clean and friendly staff and one of the cheaper places I've drank in Edingburgh centre.
Withdraw previous post ,Tricia passed on .
Spent a weekend here.both staff and locals were friendly and fun.Very laid back and relaxed pub where you can have good craic
Very good bar. I can cope with the bad language, shouting bad language, a bit too much.
Great dated theatre. Loved the old style seating
Pints of beer were 2 pounds less than the place down the street!
Working mans pub no gloss just good beer and service

Locals BAR
Sound
Another good traditional pub which is suffering because of Covid. Covid may in the end kill more businesses than people. Let's hope that it gets through the lockdown. I paid a visit today 17 March St Patrick's Day and the Cheltenham Festival was on TV . The customers are a friendly bunch mainly retired people, the prices are ridiculously low and the bar staff are very good. The local bookies are doing very well by the look of it with people popping in and out all the time. Unfortunately this pub has gone down in my estimation as it has become a day centre for the underclass.
Cheap round
Good local
Quaint pub with cheap beer prices. The host is great. If it had smelled a little better it would have given it 5 stars. You just have to know what you're getting yourself into.
Good beer and Saturday karaoke.
A typical Scottish pub, with old-fashioned flavor and friendly, welcoming people. A nice place to have a pint of beer.
Older people were cheerfully drinking. The music is so loud that I can't have a conversation unless it's loud.
A simple pub to my liking. Cheap. Nice people. The audience is mostly of advanced age.
A typical neighborhood place, good beers at a better price! Quiet music and you can watch football too.
There is not enough diversity at the whiskey level
A must visit local pub
Great wee pub, the only traditional place with these prices in the city, unless you go to Leith. Beautiful woodwork and friendly staff, darts board and dominoes too
Traditional Scotland pud
Absolutely authentic.
Great place friendly and great karaoke on a Saturday night
