Reviews of The Playfair

Quick service, for both food and drink, Star rating would have been higher if not for the server who pulled me upon ordering a gin about the age of my son and their alcohol policy only allowing alcohol to be bought with food. He was drinking Pepsi and she came minutes just after had our plates cleared away. However she did apologise after saying she couldn't see our food registered. Photos below just to prove it though!

Came in for a light bite to eat and a few drinks
for my birthday before we went to see a show. Excellent price for drinks a very wide range we used the app and just ordered to our table. Staff very pleasant. Ordered 3 of the small dishes for £14.99 which were all lovely and ordered an extra portion of wings. This would be a 5*review but the wings we ordered were bone dry so a bit let down on that side.

Value for money as we only wanted a light lunch and drink! Central location and was able to accommodate 12 of us!

Great pub with a bustling vibe.
Had a Stewart's Brewing Citra Blonde which was a brilliant pint.
Staff are really friendly and the bar is well located.

It's alright & I say alright, probably my least favourite of all the Wetherspoons I've ever visited but maybe that's subjective to personal circumstance. No atmosphere, no ambience, not particularly friendly, open & on the cold side, more than usual security guards but no trouble on night I visited

Not enough tables inside the place so had to sit at the tables outside. This was still indoors but due to the size of the place this was still rather cold. I like the new ordering system using the app. I had the bbq burger which came with chips. I didnt see anything indicating there would be onion on the burger (assumed there would be so looked for it) but there was and the sauce came as a side dish. So the burger wasn't exactly what I was expecting. Usually a bbq burger is smothered in sauce... my wife ordered a soda water and lime and all we could taste was soda water. Ordered a fresh orange and lemonade and it tasted like fairy liquid. Settled for a j2o. The coffee and tea refills were a bit disappointing. Its not barrista quality and left me feeling let down. Quick service saved it from being lower stars.

Cheap beer with conservative propaganda on every table. The chain does a great job of preserving old buildings (although this is a new one). The staff are professional and cheery. Open late... oh, and did I mention cheap beer?
