Nice beer, though a heated atmosphere this afternoon has made me reconsider. Arguing over payroll and tasks between bar staff led to an awkward atmosphere for myself and a mate. It was a very work space argument at the bar. Nice old school tiling etc nice, but staff loudly arguing not so. Let the side Stockbridge expectation

It was deligthful to visit this pub after having seen Old Town and the Royal Mile, where basically all the pubs are way too crowded with tourists. The area of Stockbridge is quite the opposite to that with a relaxed atmosphere. And so was this pub. A nice selection of draught beers and very good food helped also. Here was maybe the only problem. For some reason, the waiting time to be served food was surprisingly way too long. From ordering it took something like 45+ minutes. But even so, I can really recommend this place and the Stockbridge area altogether.

Incredibly friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere with solid food and a great rotating beer selection. Dog friendly pub... during lockdown, our dog missed the place so much every time we walked past (and it was shut of course), he wanted to stop to go inside but couldn't!

Have visited the Tap several times since the end of Lockdown. It cannot be easy working the whole time in gloves and a mask but the team do this effortlessly with the minimum of fuss. Every time a table is cleared it is cleaned immaculately ready for the next customer. The beer selection is still top class and they have still managed to maintain the feeling of being in the Pub. The staff are the same as before Lockdown, excellent hosts and there is always a warm welcome as before. Keep up the great work

After walking throuch a chilled Edinburgh we landed here for a pint. With an excellent selection, a very friendly staff and superb food, it ended up becoming a few more. If they have bangers and mash on the menu. Go for it. Best i ever had. Very much worth a detour.

I'm a big fan of the Stockbridge Tap. It's a great place to try a variety of beers (many local), and their whisky list is user-friendly. I've found the staff to be quite welcoming and happy to help with your decision-making if you're stumped for what to order. The kitchen seems to be closed frequently and on a schedule that I am unable to predict, so I have not yet tried the food here.

A great bar in the middle of Stockbridge which has a fantastic selection of beers on tap topped with a local based menu. This pub can be deceptively small, especially as the bar itself is quite small, however there is ample space in the back for people to have their meals. Dogs are welcome and there is usually a dog resting beneath their owners feet which gives the place a homely feel.

If you like your cask ales this is one of the top places in Edinburgh. Good quality casks and friendly staff. There are occasional tap takeovers and beer launch events as well. See their Twitter for beer lists. Customer base is a mix of older beer lovers and younger beer adventurers. I have not tasted the food but kitchen seems to be closed often I go there

We only stopped by twice, but enjoyed the atmosphere and the tap selection both times. The bar staff are great to interact with, and know their stuff. Definitely recommend it for a pint. I can't speak to the food here.

The pints were served in pint glasses which I found deeply appropriate. I transferred mine in to a plastic watering can and beer bonged it. The unfortunate result was that i threw up the prawn toast i ate for breakfast that day all over the manager who promptly asked me to leave. For this I can only give four stars.

The highlight of our trip to Edinburgh - we stumbled across this pub after getting completely fed-up with coach-loads of tourists all over the city. The Stockbrigdge Tap soothed our souls with excellent beer, cider and whisky, friendly knowledgeable staff and one of the best roasts I've EVER had. Just ideal... I wish the pub was my local!

The Stockbridge Tap is a newish pub, which has quickly became a Stockbridge stalwart. A traditional pale wood interior, an excellent selection of beers (consistently good I’ve found) and good burgers. It is perfect for a pint as you are exploring the areas charity shops, or walking the Water of Leith.
