Nice enough place with pleasant staff. Despite being pretty busy during my visit the staff were attentive and the service was reasonably quick. The toilets and bar area were clean and it was a decent atmosphere for a Saturday afternoon. The food was ok and my only real complaints were little things like toast served without butter, no salt in the condiment stack and options on a brunch deal that they didn't stock. I would definitely return again though.

I always think of this place when I'm looking for a casual lunch on the east side of the city centre. Probably the best fish and chips I had in a long time, and the beer is good too. Pleanty of choices, I recomend the west. Defo be back many times. Friendly staff too and good atmosphere.

I did like this bar, fantastically decorated with an open feel and great table spaces, surrounded by great big sofas and chairs and they're all different. It has great big windows which adds to the light feel of the place. There's so many bars round about here in Merchant city but in my opinion this is the best. The prices were reasonable especially for the food and they do an excellent lunch deal. The service was as you would expect

A little disappointed that we were visiting our son at U of Glasgow and travelling with our daughter (16yrs old) and were asked to leave because of licensing issues (18+ license I was told), we were not told about this for the hour we were there suddenly we found ourselves out according to the manager "immediately". Rest of the staff were very nice and friendly the manner in which were were made to leave left a bit to be desired, 10mins to finish my drink would I think have been warranted.

We went to home on Friday the 13th of August 2021. We hadn't booked but managed to get a table near the entrance on the condition that we would leave at 4:30 as it was reserved for another party. Bar was reasonably busy and there were covid measures in place. The beer on draught included estrella and tennents.. As the reservation hadn't arrived by 5 we stayed on for a few more hours before heading home. Friendly staff. Good surroundings. Good atmosphere. Good selection of drinks. What more do you want?

From the moment we walked through the door the staff were welcoming. Our waitress, Jennifer, was so helpful for the whole stay. The food was great! Will definitely be back!

Despite what Google thinks, it has been a long time since I have been here, so this review is based on visits a fair while ago. The place is always busy, as far as I can tell, it is very much a student bar, but as someone who has not been a student for a long time, that is not a problem, the place has a nice atmosphere and plenty of staff. It us not particularly cheap or particularly expensive, the food is decent and there is a good range of beer on offer. In the Merchant city, it is not difficult to find, has decent bus and train routes nearby, but on the off chance you want drive there, parking can be difficult and expensive.

This is a cool bar. I enjoyed the selection of beers but made a few wrong choices so my enjoyment was hampered. The decor is very cool, lots of mirrors make you feel your in an architectural marvel but yiur actually just in an old tenement conversion. Conversation was adequate, but the venue can not take responsibility for my company.

Had the pepperoni pizza which was delicious though I'd avoid the garlic bread side, it was very small for the price it was and not particularly garlicky. Slow service. This is a good bar and is clean and smart, but due to the number of people ordering cocktails, there can often be a long wait for service. Maybe another one or two staff dedicated to cocktail mixing would be the answer. Also, some of the upholstery is very badly stained. Nevertheless, well worth a visit.

Between a traditional pub and a bar, atmosphere was vibrant, prices were moderate and food was good and very well portioned. Had a beef pie with more pastry than beef, but taste good enough to make up for it. Would recommend for a casual lunch/dinner, not a fancy outing though.

Great wee place, a stone's throw away from shopping in the centre of town. The place is large, bright and well staffed. Also it's very affordable and they had a deal for two mains for £7.45 which was very good. I had the macaroni cheese which was really nice. In addition, there is table service for food and drink which is very nice The only draw back was that the pizza and garlic bread wasn't available as we visited at 1pm so the dough hadn't yet thawed. The service was great, staff asking us if we wanted moire drinks regularly, while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere. I have been several times and would definitely return.

This is a good bar. Popped in at the end of a works night out and enjoyed the fact that it was big and spacious and had a relaxed atmosphere. In terms of style it has a robust and stripped back urban feel that is more comfortable than that phrase suggests. It is in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant city and stands up well against some other great venues in this area. I enjoyed the presentation of a gin and tonic in a glass that occupied the space between a frosted goldfish bowl and a hefty goblet.

Amazingly ordinary. It's not bad, it's just too big. The staff are lovely and efficient and the decor is good. But it is a somewhat cavernous room lacking somewhat in the ambience stakes.

Preferably book a table if you plan to spend a few hours at this place. These tables book up fast! Quick service for both drinks and food, and additional upstairs bar gives quick service for a limited selection of drinks. Food here is pretty good pub grub too.

Nice bar with a decent selection of beers on tap and a good cocktail list. It's a bit pricey compared to others nearby and it can get really busy. The music is sometimes "club" loud rather than "bar" loud so you're often shouting over it to have a conversation.

Merchant City is an expensive area but this bar can be an excellent option if you are on a budget. A bit more expensive than a Whetherspoons but the place has a nice atmosphere. Great for afterwork drinks. Gets super busy during the weekend so make a reservation if you are looking to eat there.

Love this place, there's a real cool vibe to it and a nice mixed crowd. Pizza deal after 5pm is a must! Only one thing starting to ruin it... every time you go in now, half the tables have a "Reserved" sign on them. This is a bar! If people want to get a table they should get in early, it should be first come first served. Keep seeing reserved tables still empty well after 9pm, so it's a complete waste of space... which is a shame because pricewise and everything, this is now my No1 bar in Glasgow.
